My condolences to SFR, someone mentioned in a prior post that kid is like that in maps, too.

I’d actually be pretty happy with a FCFS principle — just filling the maps as the queues come in, regardless of server. EoTM doesn’t count toward your server’s overall score, so it doesn’t really matter who’s fighting whom on the map.

Tons of those in gold league EU, outside of SFR and Viz matches. I still remember first week when there was a nail biter down to the very last day for Riverside/Elona on who would take second spot — and the winner was less than 1K to take that spot. There were others too. And less than 10K for the other matches in that league for second spot.

Doesn’t particularly matter about the winner, it was often that second spot that was the most contentious.

Yep. Piken faced SFR and Viz three times in the leagues. SFR and Viz never had a match where it was SFR + Viz + another server. So you guys got weeks where you weren’t focused by either us or Viz. Piken did not get one of those weeks, and that’s fine.

PS going for SFR in the first week was a smart move no doubt. The only signs that showed there could have been agreements between VS and PS was that as I have mentioned before, I witnessed PS, and VS blobs standing next to each other not engaging in combat.

And we have fraps and screen grabs of RS capping the eb keep on one side of the pix, while SFR is bunched up at the doorway killing any Piken coming in to defend, literally 10 feet from each other. But eb is always a big mess, and it is what it is.

There was also a hilarious day on PSBL where RS is at sw garrison steps with four golems, and SFR was at se steps with five golems. Arriving at exactly the same time. Once? Sure coincidence, no worries, it was a great long fight. But then your blobs would both disappear for 40 minutes and then we’d get the exact same thing repeated over again. In fact it happened like this four times in a row that day. At one point it just became funny

I network between all the guilds as a scout. I do know some better than others, I can tell you that there was no coordination, other than reading the map and responding. I believe you when you say you saw side by side dance movements, but I did not see it happening when I played, and I play some stupid hours.

Only difference is we didn’t have people saying we were going to “punish” SFR or other emotional silliness over a video game. So far SFR is the only one to do that. I think most sensible players would recognize that’s a bit odd, at the least.

Great fights are not necessarily bound to numbers on each side. It is just about how the fights are played. And you are not there yet (no great moves, strategics we have encountered) to entertain the other side even if you win or lose the fight.

You need to check with your leaders. Several posts were made and reported by many many Piken guilds that members of SFR approached them on their individual forums asking to team up vs Viz in the final match. They offered to “push Jade sea to third this week to ensure we would share third spot in the leagues if we helped SFR beat Viz” when most of us did the math and recognized that any “favour” to push Jade Sea would help only SFR really and ensure they got at least second spot alone (not sure why there’s greed on that since all tied servers get the exact same reward, so SFR loses nothing really by sharing second spot). Anyhow, you can imagine how well that went over.

Elona finally understands what we trying to do, by put JS at 3:d place this week, that give us a chans to put Piken at 4th place.
It means no bronze reward for Piken and thats the punishment we want to give them for double teaming us at the first week.

Not like they care about the reward but it’s what SFR community decide to do.
Viz n Piken can work together again but they can’t do us any harm we will get Silver reward anyway.

I kinda feel bad for JS to take the beat for Pikens stupid moves, now Viz kicking them around after using them first week like fools :P

Except nobody is actively planning and doing anything other than regular WvW except SFR. The only ones mentioning terms like “revenge” and “punish” has been SFR. Nobody else is doing that. And most sensible players on any server will recognize there’s something a bit wrong in that.

Can’t imagine why anyone would want to be part of something like that.

I’m still curious as to whether the overflow map will mix you in with other servers like pve overflow, or if it’ll make you the one guy in overflow facing a big epic mob of angry red guys.

The former could be amusing, especially if you wind up facing your own team. The latter could give some an idea of what it’s like on the lower tier servers

You guys in all the guilds that got accepted need to do all of us a favour tho .. pick a time and date and all of you zone into the map at the same time and see how the mechanics work — whether there’s lag, etc … The more crammed onto map the better to stress the system and look for potential pitfalls — you play WvW, so you know what to look for.

I know there’s a ton of really nice people on SFR who are just as annoyed by their trolls as the rest of us. It’s just unfortunate that they’ve kind of become the face of the server. The other guys need to post more.

Eheh Haltair is right, JS/BB will ends up in 3th position followed by PS in 4th. (edit: most probably )

If Piken comes in second in the final match, we all share third spot (unless JS comes in second this week, then SFR/JS share second).

Viz will win the leagues regardless of any collaboration. They are not going to wind up third in the last week’s match, and that’s the only way SFR would tie with Viz in the leagues.

I will repeat it again, there was zero collaboration in that first week’s match — Viz was simply too strong and had scouts everywhere that it made flipping any of their stuff impossible — so the only place left to get points was from SFR. It was nothing more nefarious than that. SFR rarely attacked Viz as well, focusing instead on Piken because I believe you all discovered the same thing we did — that Viz was too strong and too organized. They embraced the influx of pve achievement hunters, and many servers failed to do this.

But SFR’s forum warriors made it a personal thing, and many said in the fifth week’s match — it was for revenge. Which was silly in itself, because instead of creating an ally, it became an antagonistic relationship. Nothing seems to motivate players more than unfair and untrue accusations. Well, except maybe for propaganda about double teaming that just didn’t happen.

Which other ones can rez dead npcs? I have tried on my Mesmer and necro and it doesn’t work

I’m just curious, how will this differ from existing set up?

Say you have a pool of 100 wxp levels. That pool is shared with all your toons? So you give 50 wxp to one toon, 10 to another, 25 to another, etc.? I can see that you’d only have to use one toon to spread out the wxp levels, but you’re still sharing one resource, and in effect have to level each up. It makes sense for players with more wxp than available upgrades, but not many have that, certainly not the ones who are avid alt players.

There are other skills from other classes that revive falled allies or NPC’s (keep lord). Necromancer has Signet of Undeath. Elementalist has Glyph of Renewal, Engineer has Toss Elixir R, Ranger has Nature’s Renewal via Spirit of Nature, ect. The Warrior Battle Standard however, is the most obvious and easily recognizable skill of these, specially in a big zerg fight. Now the Battle Standard is on average used more than the others, but its not the only revive skill out there used.

Except those skills are only for downed, not dead, party members/keep lords.

Ummmm, Battle Standard works in reviving just like the others, only affects Downed players and dead NPCs. It can not affect dead players.

Maybe people like being on the server they are on. Maybe they have friends on their server and enjoy wvw. MAYBE they don’t want to leave their community behind just so they can enjoy their favorite game mode. Or maybe they can’t afford to transfer…

You know what drives me nuts? Conservative kittenbags that can’t feel good about winning unless there are losers they can take a dump on.

And the migration will happen, you are right. The top 3 servers of Silver and Bronze will receive MORE people right before season 2 starts. Yes that just solves all our problems doesn’kitten

All leagues have done is make it so rather then 3 winning servers receiving all the transfers, there will be 9.

If the prize was the most important thing to you, then yes, you had ample time to transfer (almost two full months, plenty of time to farm gold, or heck, medium population transfers were free). If the community was more important, like it was for me (my server had no chance of winning the leagues) then you had the choice to stay.

I’m still going to congratulate the winners and understand the importance of a significant reward to the winners to ensure season two has people out there fighting.

Whereas before T1 was gobbling up every guild it could get and leaving 21 other servers barren, seems like at least movement from the T1 monolith.

So tired of this WoW reward mentality.

If this is absolutely THE most important thing to you, you had ample time to transfer. They even had a sale on transfers the week before leagues started. You had all the information you needed to make the right choice for you — be it community or prize (sometimes both). There are also three leagues with winners, not just T1.

This feels like people want that little league thing, where every kid gets a medal for showing up. Lol, drives me nuts, because it smacks of entitlement.

Fact is, everyone DOES get the same prize for completing the WvW achievement meta — the mini dolyak. Other prizes are dependant on your servers final ranking.

I understand there’s frustration about server stacking, but that was going on way before the leagues ever started — and the fact that there are now three different league winners instead if T1 or Bust will likely result in migration out of T1 once people see there are rewards worth fighting for into season two.

Except it doesn’t. JQ was predicted to sweep the leagues and hasn’t. And you are locked to the server you logged into WvW when the leagues began. So people can transfer all they like to whatever winning server, their reward is locked to their original server.

I think a few ambient here and there would help a ton for us Necromancers. I find myself low on life force every time I duel and am forced to ask enemy players for some.

That’s my only complaint about it also, pretty hard to win fights with 0 life force.

Naw, if they removed the despawn timer it would be a disaster. Those of us who remember back to the fall of 2012 will shudder to think of this, lol.

That, and I believe Anet said there’s a reason why they have the siege despawner in the first place — something about code/lag/latency etc .. it was a while ago, I could have the details wrong, but I do remember them saying it affected gameplay.

Enjoyed Season 1: Absolutely
Should we have season 2?: Yes please. Much more fun than the constant ladder treadmill with no end in sight. Gives servers a set period of time to plan and attack. Makes certain weeks ones to rally your server when it comes to the math calculations for end result. Heck, even the end result isn’t all that important, but the leagues made it more fun for me.

Remember, the regular WvW gameplay is RNG based and you’re going to get skewed matchups regardless. At least this gives momentum.

Hey it used to be random and unpredictable, sometimes as little as 10 minutes. An hour was a massive improvement.

Bay appears to be the hot spot for fights this week:

1. Big brawl in bay yesterday (I believe psbl)
2-3. Today’s brawl in Viz Bay, that was an hour-long fight, and massively intense and fun!
4. Moose Bay (only Canadians will get this joke, and even then some may not, lol)
5. Dude, you’re sitting on my head. (And sometimes, just sometimes those customized emotes are saying nice things instead of “X invader gestures”! — see chat box)
