The most liberating experience for a WvW player is when that lightbulb finally clicks on and you realize that dying in WvW isn’t that big a deal — and often will make you more fearless as you pile drive into a massive blob to break it up. It’s fun, try it! Nothing more gratifying than watching a massive blob scatter just by you alone as they are trying to stack might/regen/swiftness and you foil that process by breaking them up.
Worst case? You have to rez and run back and pay 2 silver for repairs. Best case? You’ve just eliminated their combos and your teammates can now dive in and wipe them without the benefit of boons.
Also it is an intersting perspective. If PS becomes second and win all other matches they can theoretically become first.
Not possible. Piken has matches with Viz and a third server, and matches with SFR and a third server during the leagues. There is no match where SFR and Viz + third server happens. So essentially both SFR and Viz get a “free week” (the servers they face are still tough buggers in their own right though, all EU servers seem to bring the fight, much respect), and Piken does not get this opportunity. By that factor alone, Piken will never win the leagues (unless we get some massive influx of NA players who have been monitoring this matchup).
So I’d relax a bit about Piken at least. We will fight as hard as we can, but I don’t think anyone really thinks we have a shot at 1st and I think most are ok with that. Second place however ….

Also: Aelen that sounds like an epic moment for your server! That’s what WvW should be all about. Kudos to you for holding it together. SFR is very lucky to have you.
I’m about to try to contact Viz and see if we can’t set up a mile long congo dance line. Cos this is pretty silly, given I was part of the crew on Vizbl today who painted it all red, including their garrison. Likewise they’ve flipped psbl entirely blue.
Still, a massive Piken/Viz dance party, standing side by side and waving would be incredibly amusing.
There was a bad map bug like this back in February, but just to be sure: have someone run over near the jumping puzzle and see if you can see a ton of green dots on the map. Check skillpoint areas too. Not saying it isn’t happening, but just to be sure, etc…
Well crap. Viz I seem to be out of the loop on the double-team secret handshake.

Every once in a while I get to eat popcorn and watch a fight. Snuck into Bay last night on PSBL about (I think it was 2 am GMT/9pm EST), and popped some popcorn and just sat back from my spot and watched the battle. Wound up joining our crew who attacked north inner with a whopping 20 players, haha, was hilarious and fun.
Bottom pix was more popcorn eating at south lake supply this morning about 8 am EST (1pm GMT).
At least we’re not bored out there eh? And kind of nice I could just sit there and watch and not get hit.
EU prime on Piken is still buggered, terribly long. No queue during NA prime though (6-7 est onward) …. and we are currently ticking second in “Tier 1” which is nice, given there’s a big mass of red to fight at night, haha.
I’ll duel any warrior that wishes to come out. I’ve yet to lose to a warrior in an arranged duel. Have had one match though where it just became a war of attrition and we both gave up, lol. But eager to try more. Whisper me in game Just don’t speed bolt away if you are losing, I promise to only down you and back off.
We aren’t talking about duels lol. Its about WvW zerging. Right now, zergs are turning into mostly Warriors with hammers and something like sword/warhorn or greatsword for offhand. The fact they BUFFED the hammer after this is already occurring is what is so weird. One can only assume that buffs are coming for other professions as well since it was mentioned a while back that there are new skills and traits coming.
SFR last I checked was in mass on PSBL. Viz appears to be healthy population on its own BL as well as having about 60 dedicated to PSBL. That’s where I’m seeing the big fights tonight.

Yeah. Five of them coming at you is definately a pain in the …. which is why I like setting up duels so I can learn and improve …. and then maybe learn to counter a bit better when I run into five (if even to escape ).
I thought they were getting their own set of servers because of the anticipated influx of players and will have nothing to do with the EU/NA existing game?

If it makes SFR feel any better, Viz had a choice tonight whether to save a T3 Bay on SFRBL or a T3 Hills on PSBL. They chose to rescue the T3 Hills and let SFR have their Bay back.
Alright, let’s look at things on the bright side. If you want bags and your lag is too horrendous to do anything, you can take a couple folks incl. a mesmer and build arrow carts on top of the arena in Obsidian Sanctum. You’ll be farming carebears for hours, while porting your own to your location.
Every morning I run short 15 minute WvW clinics. Seems to be helping. Seeing our pve’ers actually running to defend something when someone links the pois in map and help is called for.
Then watched a guy I taught in the morning, teaching someone else later in the afternoon. Was delighted.
Oh I dunno. Everyone was warned weeks ago it would be like this. They even had a sale for xfer fees to help you avoid it. This isn’t a caveat emptor thing.
With all this fair warning, why should they give it for free.
Eh I wouldn’t stress it too much. Sure they’ll get a reward based on your hard work, but on the other side of the coin, the queues will die down a bit. And it’s just some virtual reward anyhow, even as anti-ethical as it is ..
No. I believe the server they logged onto at season launch will be the one they get the reward based off. So they could have logged into T1 WvW at launch, then moved to a lower tier server (to avoid queues, lag, etc), and complete their WvW achievements on another server. The reward is locked to that first server, depending on how they fare in the season.
Oh maaaaybe. But it took five of them to take me out at Hills on Viz BL tonight and I’m nothing special. Had a nice little duel going with a SFR guardian for about 5 minutes, then another showed up, and bounced around, then three more showed up. I told you guys, my max I can handle is 3v1.

in NA we have BIG 3 not just BIG 1 like EU.
Naw, SFR could take it. We have a decent shot too.
However that isn’t the reality of it. Even if you’re very nice and try to explain things most just don’t care they just want their achievements and are under some incomprehensible delusion they can solo them in WvW.

It’s nice to look at the MOS and see relatively even pie chart peace signs pretty much accross the board (both NA and EU) and not such lopsided stuff we’ve seen the past couple months.

Piken plays for the fights not the ppt. Always has. It’s never been a priority to do the ppt grind. Keeps the game fun.

Just stop this propaganda mate, I love Piken server but the old one, not this PPT beast it became with 2h+ queues. Hope more pugs will leave so old guilds can come back and enjoy the game as it once was.
Just came to see how it’s like there, 3pm, queues + really crazy skill delays even tho fights aren’t THAT big(40vs40 or so), kinda feel sorry for you there,

Yes all of you are very much missed and hoping that things will settle eventually. There’s still a crew that believes in the fights tho. We’re hanging on. The bulk don’t care about ppt, it’s still true of Piken.
Do you have a second account on Piken or something that you know about how bad it is? Cos it’s really not that great at the moment you’re right. Glad to see you didn’t really leave
Naw I’ve been mid fight and a queue I’d been waiting on for an hour popped. Then there’s the dilemma of finish the fight or requeue. If it’s a long queue, I regretfully leave the fight for the other map.
If it’s happening a lot tho, might be a bug. Just send in a report so Anet can sort it out.
A couple months back, one server in NA screamed and cried that they were being double teamed on the forums. At the time there was no actual 2v1 plan, just the regular nature/coincidence of regular WvW play. However, the servers forum warriors screamed foul so often and for so long, that the other two servers said, “well if they’re saying we are 2v1ing, I guess we really should do it.” The result? The forum warrior server was mercilessly targeted for weeks on end.
What happens on the forums does often translate in game. Represent your server with dignity and good sportsmanship. Let the game be decided on how you fight on the field, not in the forum.
