Those poor dolyaks …
You may be having this problem, too:

I’d still check in with your bank first. Banks do odd things.
So WIC from Piken went to SoR.
ZD left SFR and went to blackgate.
Bull rumoured to be scouting NA servers for a move next week.
GD left NA after two weeks and returned to Elona.
Any others?
Oh hooray!
.
Lol this was my dialogue:
I understand you are having issues with the whisper function in game. The next time that you’re in the game and you find a bug, you can do us a favor by submitting an in-game bug report. This will send detailed information about your character and your position directly to our Quality Assurance Team and will help us kitten the issue as promptly as possible. To submit a bug report in the game, simply click on the “Game Menu” button in the upper left-hand corner of the game interface, then choose the “Support” option on the Game Menu. That option will allow you to review known issues, report a bug, or contact Customer Support.
You’re also welcome to report a game issue in the Game Bugs sub-forum of the Guild Wars 2 Forums ( http://support.guildwars2.com/forum/support/bugs ). You may include screenshots with your forum report, if you wish to do so. While we are unable to respond directly to each bug report that we receive on the forums or through the game interface, each report is reviewed and escalated, when appropriate.
Thank you again for taking the time to let us know about this issue.
At least you got a better response than I did

I get stuff from anet on my yahoo email every day, including today. The reset mail does go into the spam folder though.
Call your bank? Some banks will put a stop payment on credit card transactions online unless you pre-authorize.
Oh you’re already on it. I reposted in your new thread about passwords the info he wanted and updated the ncscoft site ticket. Was just flagging you that it didn’t appear to update the ticket at ncsoft and seem to rebound back to me.
Gaile this is happening again. I hit reply on the email ticket sent to me and it bounced back to me directly — it shows sending to you guys when you hit “send” but then a moment later it appears back in my email inbox.
A verification here:
https://plaync.custhelp.com/app/utils/login_form/
Shows the ticket did not get updated by me hitting “reply” … so something’s still wonky.
I wound up udpating that ticket at the site. But it’s not adding to the feed when you hit reply via email.

You have to authorize any new ip to an account. An email would have been sent to the email attached to the account with a link to authorize access. Click that link to gain access.
Edited to add: stinvic, in my account area ip usage used to work, but has been blank for at least a couple months now, not even showing my ip.
Thanks, Jayne. I haven’t had to permit a new IP for several months so I was not aware of that page as having functionality issues. I just checked and it is completely borked for me as well. It seems that it comes up with a page style coding issue if you are actually logged into the game from your current IP when you visit that page.
:(
I’m a bit concerned about my account security now if that page now longer functions.
To OP, please refer to the section of my post about checking that her email is accurately listed on her account to ensure the Authorize New IP email is going to the proper email address.
Lol you’re concerned? My password has been reset daily for two weeks now and no answer from Anet. And I’m not alone in this. Sometimes it gets reset hours apart. And nothing shows up on my security page … Zero IPs, even after I’ve used the game and been logged in.
Couple that with the fact I can’t see any whispers or party chat in game since Saturday, I’m really growing concerned something is seriously wrong like what happened to SOE with that hacking incident.
I’m highlighting this for a review, hopefully in the next hour! What’s your ticket number, please?
Gaile, lovely! I put my ticket number in that thread up top that is for tickets older than 3 days .. it’s on the last page. Hold on, lemme get it:
Incident: 131012-000946. I filed this ticket on Oct. 11, and they told me they were going to accelerate it, but that was nearly two weeks ago, and I`m still dealing with the issue daily.
Help!
Edited to add: here’s the new ticket number tied to it as well: Request #2684

Yep. Have had this issue for two weeks going on three now.
However, the mighty and beautiful Gaile has spotted the issue. I have faith that maybe what they tinker around with mine will hopefully solve it for others.
(edited by Jayne.9251)
Screen shot isn’t going to show you much, other than a one-sided conversation where you’re sending whispers and no responses.
Mine isn’t a firewall issue. Have literally tried everything possible on my end to fix this. And the fact that whispers work on one account and not the other indicates it’s a problem on Anet’s end.

Unfortunately my “solution” I found in the last thread was only temporary, and back to the same password reset bug for weeks now.
My best guess is they lost a tower or keep the same way we lost T3 Hills on Piken bl …. the patch.
Every time you gain a wxp level you’ll get an extra chest.
Really? I’ve duelled warriors stacked with it. Has never really bothered me.
Stumped me then too
Guess you’ll have to wait on the ticket. Sorry!
There is only one balance issue. Queues are not a problem Arenanet should be addressing, they are a symptom of players being unwilling to transfer or ignorant of the transfer opportunity.
The balance problem is that of coverage. While some servers have many overnight players, other servers have barely any. This leads to situations where the maps are completely one colour overnight with waypoints and full upgrades in every keep. This, in turn, leads to boring games that nobody enjoys and makes the score irrelevant.
i’ve been on my t1 server since beta. WHY SHOULD I Have to leave because bandwagoners showed up later? We started in 17th place BTW.
You don’t have to leave. It’s all about choice. Hate the queues, investigate elsewhere. Don’t want to leave, then deal with the queues. Simple.
Gosh this thread got a heck of a lot shorter, lol.
What about trying to reset the password? Maybe that will reboot it?
Also, can she log into the forums? (I’m guessing no)
Would a one month restriction time on transfers help any? Would force the player to really consider before moving and also kind of force them to get to know the community and maybe decide to stay? Also put that restriction on level one toons (allow one switch if toon deleted, then lock it in) to avoid other kinds of abuse?
Actually, for the most part, EU players tend to leave two players fighting alone and run off to do other things.
Yeah and this leads often to more flaming than simply killing one of them.^^ Just happened today to me:
1. 1v1 (?) – You kill one -> /w “Hey, that was a 1v1!”
2. 1v1 (?) – You walk away -> /w “Thanks for no help, a**hol*!”My opionion: If you want to do 1v1, GO SPVP (maybe that’s why it’s there)!^^
And yeah, of course are battles unfair, it’s open PvP, means: blobfest. The more you bring with you, the better are your chances of winning.
It’s the way since Ultima Online. That’s why I’m always laughing ’bout people who seriously say Open PvP (in any game) has to do something with strategy or tactics and not with mass farming – maybe just for themselves to feel better or more intelligent…
Lol, yeah it’s why if I’m uncertain I always ask in /say. The person needing the help somehow finds the time to type YES!
I only like 1v1 or 1v2/3s as a means to educate myself about my class and improve. Then I’m way more efficient in big open field battles.
That appeared after I died. I was one of the last ones alive. If I got loot while downed I would’ve rallied, but it appeared after I died. Also our spawn is on hillsside.
Use the waypoint faster
It will spawn underneath you even when you’re on the other side of the map.
Aoe loot button keyed helps, spam that as you are going down.
The problem with spamming it, is that you always STOP midrun while attacking the zerg to do the finisher motion. This has got to be the most annoying thing in the world. I’ve actually stopped looting during zergs to avoid this and just run back whenever the fight is over.
Tough luck if the fight is in a keep and you lose it though.
What? You mean like stooping to pick it up? Mine doesn’t do that. It just loots and puts it into bags. There’s a function in options to set that up as well as hot key it. Regular F looting will do the animation though.

I’ve had to actually copy paste links anet has sent recently. Clicking doesn’t seem to work.

I understand where you are coming from, but I don’t agree. Half of becoming better in WvW comes from experimenting and faceplanting and getting back up and trying something else. Cookie cutter builds would create predictability that would make wiping a new pve player group much easier than a speculative build.
I have a unique build that I covet … Why? Because it took me an awful lot of experimenting to discover what works best with my playstyle … And often the enemy I encounter expects X and gets Y with me.
I’m not really concerned about interserver alliances (yet anyway). I’m more concerned about interserver agreements to karma train. This has nothing to do with tactics or PPT or whatever – it’s simply turning WvW into an arena for farming.
If you’re a solo player caught between two commanders agreeing to karma train while dodging one anothers’ zerg, what can you do other than switch maps?
EDIT: There, the linked post is back up – https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/matchups/10-25-JQ-SOS-Mag-Gold-Season-Match-2/page/8#post3107850
Wow. That’s quite the read.
You can do that now with guesting can’t you?
Yes but, I think what he/she is trying to say is, I’ll use GoM as an example. Their server as far as WvW participation/population is down near the bottom however, they have a fairly large PvE community so if everyone transfered to GoM to help out the WvW Population issues the over all server load may put stress on the server because of the large PvE population. If PvE and WvW were seperated the server load would account for just one or the other, not both.
Ah so instead of like 24 NA servers, there would be 48? Separating WvW and PVE?
Sounds a bit complicated .. and expensive?
You can do that now with guesting can’t you?
Allow an entire guild to transfer to a lower WvW ranked server .. AND .. retain the guild’s experience and all accumulated benefits they have acquired on their original home server. There is zero incentive for an established guild to move to a new home if they have to start over from scratch with their guild XP/bonuses.. I know this is one of the things thats preventing my guild from moving. We really dont want to start over from scratch loosing all our hard work from launch.
I think that’s pretty fair. The whole grinding up the guild on a new server is a time sink anyhow and for some WvW-oriented guilds it’s a factor in whether to move or not.
I adore the Second Law guys. They always /bow after they kick your butt
Yes there are four maps.
But if my guild want to do an event the usually want to do it, you know, together with the guild. Not spread out on four different maps.
Truthfully, how often do you get more than 60 guildmates out in WvW in a given month? I don’t know many guilds that get those kind of numbers out. Most tend to run in the 30-35 range.
I see your concern, you want to do an event with your entire guild. But is that happening more than once or twice a month where you get more than 60 out? Or is that every single raid night you WvW? I think 60 is a realistic number for most.
If you can get more than 60 onto a map you’re pretty much control it entirely, and that goes for how it is presently, too.
Remember, there are four maps out there as well.
Based on everything I’ve seen from high tier servers to low tier, the tipping point for the game becoming unplayable is at the 60 man mark per team — or 180 players converging at one spot. If you go over that amount, you start to see the massive skill lags that everyone complains about.
Likewise, if 60 fills each map every night, so there’s a queue, there’s going to become a point where you start to look at options — one I’m hoping will result in people spreading out instead of the lopsided stacking we’re seeing now.
Sixty per map would force the population to spread out. Or the community to organize and schedule. It’s about the tipping point for culling/lag in three way battles too.
Remember, there are four maps, too.
Cap the maps at 60 per team per map. Let people decide if they want to wait out the queue or transfer. If they transfer (hopefully, maybe Anet might want to include some kind of incentive for a week or so) it will help even out the worlds and make some, not all, more competitive.
It will also eliminate a ton of issues like lag/latency/skill delay/to cull or not to cull … etc …
So I just logged into my other account and whispers are working fine on that account. It’s the same computer and same launching of GW2, so it appears this whisper bug is tied to the account. Which makes me think the game thinks this account is invisible online all the time and is causing this issue.
Any way to manually reset my status .. I’m thinking this might fix it for me and others experiencing this.
Well I do have some technical news that may change your mind.
I just logged into my other account and whispers are working fine .. same computer, same game software.
So it appears, I believe, that the game thinks this account is invisible online for some reason — because it’s acting like I’m invis otherwise. I’m wondering if it’s possible to manually go in and change the status from your end? I think that might fix the issue .. for everyone.
Also, thanks very much for the reply, even if it isn’t the one I was hoping for
I’m reposting this here in case it’s a tech issue that might be easier resolved on this end:
Basically what’s happening is that I can send whispers and see the text I type, but I am unable to see any replies. Friends have checked and say that it shows me as being online, but nothing comes through. When I join a party, I cannot see what I type, nor can I see any communication from people in the party.
It’s like the game thinks I’m invisible, but I’m not. And people don’t get the auto-message saying “this person is not online” when they try to whisper me. This started happening out of the blue on Saturday and nothing I have tried to do has fixed it. I have not installed anything on my system in that period of time. I even went back and restored to a prior point on my computer and that failed to work.
I have tried to repair the game twice. I’ve gone and done two full clean reinstalls. All my check boxes I’ve ticked and unticked and reticked. I’ve left guild and rejoined it. Nothing seems to fix this.
The response on the ticket I put in from Anet is to either “report this in-game as a bug” or create a thread on the forum — without any solution to the ticket.
This is really a game-breaking thing, since being able to communicate in game is key, particularly when you play WvW. I can use /map and /team chat ok, but I really need to be able to see whispers and party chat.
Any help?
Thanks.
I had this issue too. I’d hit reply and the email would send it to me and not gw2 support.
Has anyone found a solution to this?
Here’s what I have done:
+ran repair twice on GW2
+reinstalled GW2 clean twice
+rolled back my settings to a date before this started happening
+checked all the settings in game, checked/unchecked stuff, invis/visible, left guild/reentered guild
The response to my ticket was to either put in an “in game bug report” or detail my issue on the forum. They offered no fix outside of those two recommendations.
If someone has had this issue and found a solution, would greatly appreciate what you did to fix it.
Edited to add: I’m wondering if the bug is that the game thinks you are invis when you’re not (I’ve checked with friends, they can see me online and have replied to my whispers, I just can’t see any of their replies), because the behaviour is similar — you can send whispers, but you cannot see any replies. Is there a way to manually fix this for each affected account?

This is the issue I started having as of two days ago. A friend was nice enough to find this thread for me and point me towards it. I see this has been ongoing for some time now. Is there any fix for this?
It’s kind of game breaking not being able to communicate in game.
What? You can’t relate to this video below during a particularly bad epic lag fest?
We are all 1 spamming monkeys then. Embrace it.

Which one is AR?
The pretty girl on the box to the left? *wink
Cos I’m pretty sure I’m the monkey…..
It’s a major compliment if two servers double team because they perceive Piken as the bigger threat. That said, much like the match last week, I doubt there’s anything intentional afoot and more just the way WvW works sometimes. Just means more loot bags for us
Also remember, Piken tends to come out more during the week vs the weekend.
Gratz to RS for taking the lead. We will have to work on taking it back!
