I don’t think defending should be made any easier right now. There are tools out there for you to defend with. If it was made any easier, it would dissuade people from fighting for objectives again. Many of the defensive tactivators and improvements (hardened gates, hardened siege, chilling fog, airship defense etc.) have been nerfed to improve this.

I’d trade all those tactivator kittens for walls where i can place siege that won’t be AoE’d down by meteor shower.

You can’t even place counter siege on top of a wall without having it AoE’ed unto nothing by Meteor Shower… Sure there are a few spots where you can do that, but certainly in that wall on the video and in multiple others you can’t.

The only profession running condis that give me troubles atm is mesmer. Whoever thought that giving confusion and torment to the same class was funny really need to be shot. Warrior sometimes is nasty but I rarely cross one of these.
Conditions only work on small scale, as the groups get bigger there is just too much removal and resistance rolling that they barely have a chance to be effective.

I am still not convinced 1 up 1 down is as horrid as some think it is. It isn’t perfect, but it would resolve the problem with this match in particular. I just wonder how many are going to still be around from these 9 servers after 8 weeks (assuming this continues) ….

JQ already bought [Lgn] out of EBay and I’m pretty sure there are more guilds being reached to move. The kitten situation of the tier only make it easier for the large servers open their warchests and convince guilds from the servers stuck in the hell-hole to move up.

FA for exemple even reached me, a guild leader of a small roaming guild to offer us transfer.

Like we already said in other thread: People who voted for 2 months were expecting just that servers would be cycling in pairs around the tiers. If we knew Arena Net would do such kittened things like linking 4 servers and keep them stuck in the lowest tier, we certainly wouldn’t have voted for 2 months.

I always thought it would be interesting to make resistance stackable…like one stack of resistance gives immunity to one condi on you…3 stacks make you immune to three condis currently on you, etc.

Would still be too powerful unless separate stacks had separate durations… Resistance should work more like protection and only reduce the effectiveness of conditions (instead of completely nullifying them) and not like stability.

It’s already annoying enough chasing PU torch mesmers around keeps and you now want to make us chase SA thieves too? No thanks.

Being bad and being outnumbered in the coverage wars are two different things… The more players you put togheter, the easier it is to the average skill level drop.

Well, nobody down here want CD to stay either. The only ones content with that outcome is Arena Net (since they are not bothering in do somenthing about it).
I mentioned on another thread, we already seen this happen before and the only solution was manual intervention. But problably since the pairings will change eventually, they will use that as a excuse to do nothing.

Problem with tournament is that people took the game as if it was their second job trying to win against unwinnable odds due people stacking at the winning servers and got burned out because of it. I was in the only server that have 2 last place awards in the tournaments (Eredon Terrace) and I can say I saw no difference in the WvW population in my server during that time, simply because everyone knew we wouldn’t win and just kept playing like we always did.

They can just add the ruins to the oasis area since skysplitter isn’t comming back. There is no need to extend shrines to ABL as they are a mechanic unique to the regions around DBL keeps.

I don’t get your point here… You’re just showing off that you could win a 1v3 back then just as you still can today? Nobody said people couldn’t do that before… Hell, how you think fight guilds would take blobs of twice or triple their size if people couldn’t win outnumbered fights?

The powercreeping issue here is: You cannot play competitively right now if you don’t pick a elite spec. You’ll be extremly uneffective compared to the others. And because of that it reduce build verierity as you will only have 2 other trait lines to change since one will always be the elite.

I can only think in maybe 3 builds that could work out without their elite specs without struggling extremely hard, and 2 of them are condi based (which isn’t any epitome of skill-based play). All others fall flat when compared to their elite counterparts.

Tbh, I think the removal of the crafting stations wasn’t meant to reduce queue times or anything. They are trying to keep track of the people who actually go to wvw to wvw and by removing the people who only went there for the easy access to the to crafting, they can gather a more accurate data.

It annoys me that they are gone, but if it bring some results, they can stay gone forever for all I care.

Unless they changed recently, free account DO have to pick a server when they are created like anyone else. Worst: they can’t just delete all characters and transfer out for free like a full account (even without HoT you can do that if you had paid for base game). You have to entirely make a new account or upgrade it if you ever want to move.

Honestly, what about putting crafting stations in Heart Of The Mist (the pvp lobby).

People already use it for the same purpose as they used the WvW maps anyways, all the services, except for crafting, at one place.

Personally always wanted them to make a own “server map” or something similar to cutting out Citadel from ABL and make it into a own server specific map, as part of WvW, serving same function as HtoM.

• Allows us to go all the services without affecting queue’s on playable maps.
• Can be encouraged to all server mates to use, instead of fighting over queue
• Can be static even over Reset since it is only 1 server, to use for preparing for reset.
• Recruitment
• Never have this argument on the forums ever again (One can hope…)
• Sigil stacks still drops because kitten!

Unless they make the airship and the royal pass area work that way, I don’t see them making another area that can ruin these areas selling business.

Seeing how Crystal Desert and Sorrow’s Furnace, who were guests became hosts, it is possible that a guest server that gets larger than a host server swap places (Or it the top servers become too large that they won’t need linking, such as Blackgate and Tarnished Coast). Of course, this is a longshot considering that Darkhaven, a host server, is smaller than their guest server Ehmry Bay.

I am in a guild that plays wvw and we can´t do it with all of our people because the locked server, we are many months now in BG and the new people and also the veterans that are in other servers can´t join us. Transfer down is not an option because is easy to move 5-10 people than 30-40, and we like the server.

Maybe you can give us an option to lock the guild to a specific server of election, and let the player choose to join the server of that guild.

I usually don´t write here, but i am disappointed.

Trasnfer 30 people to a Medium populated server: 15000gems

Math says it’s easier (and cheaper) to transfer the large chunk out of BG than expect BG to open and transfer the smaller chunk there.

That’s why I kept the 20 value he used in his original post. Back in my time of zerg busting a decent guild would run 15ish, but we didn’t had all this powercreep from Heart of Thorns.

Currently, if you wanted to do zerg busting, you’d need 20 solid players. I don’t think 15 can cut it these days. You’ll want to be in a tier 4 server so that you’re fighting the worst players left in the game – preferably be on Crystal Desert so you can get maximum farming of SF and DH.

Bruh, being on the overpopulated side don’t really give you many chances of “zerg bust”.. It need to be 20 of you against 40+ enemies, not the other way around.

The “fix” you want would require an entire rework of EVERYTHING they added on HoT. It would be like remaking the whole expansion again, so don’t expect that to ever happen because it’s inconceivable.

Protection isn’t THAT bad… You still deal damage, just reduced. Resistance completely counter all condition damage AND condition effects. It’s pretty much as if everyone had Berserker Stance up.

Resistance should act like protection and only reduce the effects, not entirely eliminate them.

Players are not looking for easy objectives, they are looking for players to actually FIGHT for the objectives not use siege and if their siege gets blown up run away. That is lame as hell. We want the 6 hour all out brawls winner takes all siegeless fights to feel like we are actually having fun.

That’s not entirely true as we know most of the players will run away from a fight as soon as the odds don’t favor them. Yes, sure, there are players that want fights, but nowadays most of the players just want to choo-choo their way to victory or annoy a k-train by putting a siegeloaded objective in their way.
