Tbh, people that sit on siege all day don’t really care about loot since they don’t really get loot unless people are kittened enough to sit under AC fire.
Also you would be denying loot to outnumbered players trying to defend a structure from a far large group (somenthing you’ll normally can only achieve by the use of siege).
And what if a pug drops an AC that get built in the middle of a zerg fight? That will deny an entire zerg loot just because some random troll dropped an AC?

My only issue with meteor shower is how it can hit anything on top of walls… Other than that, I think it’s perfectly fine. If an ele is hitting you for 8k meteor shower he problably have 12k HP and less than 2k armor which means that if they mess up they get insta gibbed by anything.

Judging what they did to SF and CD, the guest server keep the rating they had before the links until they become host servers. Only the host servers have their glicko changed with the result of the matches.

We can already have a glimpse of the result of this matchup now.

Before someone comes with the argument “it still saturday”, I want to let you know that glicko works with the % difference between the score and not the points itself. 40k/20k/20k is the same as 500k/250k/250k for glicko.

Right now, the quadserver is winning by double over the other two servers, which is far above the %s of the last match that ended at 467k/329k/270k, and is only gaining 55 rating points, oposed to the 110 gained last week.

Let’s say that the quadserver maintain this for the whole week and get the 50 rating now. They will now be 200 above the two competitors for the next match oposed to the 100 rating difference of the current match. Glicko will expect that the Quadserver wins even harder to get any significant ammount of rating (let’s say 150% above 2nd place), and it will expect to have the quadserver to keep performing even harder as the matchups go on since their rating will be far above the other two contenders. They will be squeezing water out of a rock at some point.

There was a similar issue 3 years ago when Sorrow’s Furnace was stuck in T8 and couldn’t move out simply because Eredon Terrace and Fergusson’s Crossing rating were far lower than theirs, at to some point that despite SF winning the matchup by almost 100% over the other two server they would still lose rating. Arena Net manually gave 100 rating to both ET and FC which allowed SF to finally gain enough rating to move out of the tier and make their way up, even beating T7 servers. We had a T6 server stuck in T8 for several months just because glicko wouldn’t adjust a way for them move up.

Imho, if Arena Net don’t want to manually move the quadserver, they should at least do the same they did back in that time to allow CD gain enough rating to get out of T4.

While the ideal would actually just reset everyone’s rating and let the servers adapt by themselves every time the pairings change, feeding artificial rating will help to reduce the huge rating walls that formed between the tiers, which would give us at least different matchups if we get extremely loopsided ones like the one we’re having right now.

No intervention, we’re heving this again.

The Hero Weapons were reintroduced to WvW through the Hero Weapon reward track (they were only obtainable using season tickets). However, Mistforged Hero weapons still out of reach, as to make one, you need the Gift of Heroes, which is only obtainable by using season tickets.

We haven’t had a WvW season in years and I don’t expect one anytime soon. So the question is: There are plans for adding an alternative way of getting Gift of Heroes or we’re stuck with the regular Hero Weapon skins?

There are several questionable issues on this matchup…

Servers like Eredon Terrace and Kaineng received a influx of guilds that wanted a “free” pass to T1 during the last linking. They are not the same servers that they were during the first linking.

Darkhaven been bleeding guilds during the last pairing. At least 4 WvW guilds (CCS, zAp, Myth and LXG) left the server during that time. To not mention the fairweather heavy population that haven’t been showing since the first week Darkhaven started facing Maguuma even before the server linkings. The “High” status on Darkhaven is questionable, and as seen in WvW right now, it’s clear that EBay is far larger than us atm.

Even if DH+EBay were both high for real, how would it be fair facing another double High with a third medium (SF+FC+GoM)? And I’m not even going into the quadserver fiasco…

We’ll see what gonna happen this reset. But if the quadserver remain on T4, DH+EBay will have to stick up with that for 2 months, because I don’t think CD will break the glicko wall to T3 before that.

It hasn’t been fixed and it is some kind of joke. No matter what, Green (Overgrowth) always massively outnumbers both other teams. I mean massively! This is nuts really, fix it Anet please or more people will just stop doing Eotm and the balance will be worse. Anet problably didn’t bothered with this because EotM was never meant to be balanced. The drastic differences between each color objectives show that by itself.

Also you can never have balance when you have the colors pairing changing every week when the servers shift position on the actual WvW ladder.

If winning is that important to you you should be dedicating to help your server in actual WvW and not playing EotM imho.

What would have been an interested poll before the DBl was ever made would be to ask players to pick an existing PvE zone to use as an inspiration for the visual theme of a new Borderland map. I suspect Dry Top would not have won.

DBL is more based in the Silverwastes than Dry Top itself, altho both maps are the same region, the Maguuma Wastes.

My guess would be that some Ascalonian based map would have won if they ever made a the pool you suggest.

Everyone know DBL isn’t the reason WvW died… Otherwise, the people that quit because of DBL would be back when ABL came back. Now tell me why these people still not here? DBL was just used as an excuse for people who wanted to quit the game due other factors.

Technically DBL is far worse to defend than ABL due the super large side keeps and the distance between the objectives… Saying that the server that gets DBL as home BL will always win is utter nonsense as the people who care about score will go where the PPT is easier to get (which means, DBL). The people that hate DBL are people who usually roam and look for fights, and that’s because DBL was such a pain to navigate prior the changes made in April (Some of these people still hate it without even testing the map after these changes).

Yes, JQ is on T3 because of the random element after the glicko is calculated (we belive it’s somenthing around +/- 100). Their small gain due the fact that they are facing servers with a much lower glicko than their, and glicko expects that they already perform far better than the other servers.

CD is gaining 100+ rating because their rating is much lower than the other two servers… However by the time CD get’s to, let’s say 1600, the other servers will have 1300-1200 which will make extremely hard to CD gain any rating.

Legacy Armor are skins that were removed from the game when changes were made in the pvp reward system… No heavy armors were removed in the process, so there is no reason to put a heavy armor in the Legacy Armor chest.

• level of organization
• skill

which are all different things, albeit some interrelated.

The fact that there are more kills going kinda stand up for activity… It means there are enemies engaging each other, even if one side is far larger than the others. Hell, all tier have more kills/deaths than T1 right now with the highest being T4 which is over 90k.

I wouldn’t count T4 being more active than T1 naturally. But YB trying to tank out of T1 doesn’t help to make it active.

CD isn’t going anywhere with a 300 glicko wall between T3 and T4. By the time CD even get close to move up, the pairings will change.

The big deal is that the other 5 servers locked with the quadserver will have this “super-fun-and-happy” matchup for the duration of the pairings unless CD get manually moved or a T3 server dies off completely.

No. The correct conclusion is that most of the people (I’d say roughtly 70 percent) who stopped playing because of DBL when HoT was released, have never come back, hence the recent poll result.

Anet should care about the players still remaining, not the ones long gone. Mentioning that people who quit would make a difference in the pool result is moot point since these people don’t even play the game anymore.

Free level 76 exotic gear, that’s only usable in WvW and disintegrates after 30 hours, would be more like it.

… what? Wtf do you use, armor made of gold? A full set including weapons and sigils/runes is like 20 gold (or 10 days of doing nothing but daily). Ascended trinkets is dirt cheap. And thats not even counting the options for WvW bought gear, which is more like 7 gold + badges.

Most players run all ascended gear for WVW, and need more than one set to switch out to be able to run different party comps. I don’t know any nubs running condi builds anyhow.. running rabid gets you gkicked lol

A competent player in full exotics can easily take over a scrub that think having full ascended stuff will save him… Happens plenty of time when I’m playing on my alt account which only have ascended rings and amulet.

Ascended equipments give advantage? Sure they do. But it’s not like it’s impossible to win a fight without those… One would argue that at best you only need a ascended weapon (because the base damage increase the damage of your skills) to be par with an full ascended player, and ascended weapons aren’t really expensive since you only need to craft 2-4 of them.

I only hope that the other servers populations also get put right… Darkhaven is far from being Very High (one would argue that even our guest EBay is larger).

Remove bank, mystic forge, vendors and pretty much everything that has a permanent/endless item. You wan’t to Mystic Forge in WvWvW? Buy a Mystic Forge conduit, simple as that.

Do not count on Anet to intervene and change what has already been put in place. You’ll have to wait it out until they move up (lucky for you that can happen) or until they change links in two months.

Considering it seens Anet intent to keep CD original glicko, the pairing will be over even before the quadserver can get out T4 unless a T3 server dies.

Also, you think 3 months of loopsided matches are tough? Try 2 years rotting at the bottom of T8 with no hope of going up.

The quadserver will only shed players that are interested in going back to T1. However, the massive dominance will bring out loads the fairweather who are in for a easy ride to victory.

In the other hand you have servers like DH who been losing guilds even before the pairings start (and multiple of them are on the quadserver such as CCS, Myth and zAp) and fairweather pugs that will not return until they see they have a chance of winning.

Unlikely to happen… My guess is that FC wants a piece of DH as some kind of revenge for the last pairing where DH was pretty much inexistent and our population was pretty much 90% FC. Guilds like Maki, DRK and even LION seen to spend more time in DHBL than defending their own stuff from the angry quadserver blob.

I’m not sure if it’s a bug or if it was intented so I’ll just be leaving it here.

I’ve tried to use the Mystic Forge recipe to change the stats of Ascended Armor to change the stats of my Breathing Apparatus, but it doesn’t count it as a armor piece. I think it’s wrong since the Breathing Apparatus is the substitute for the head piece while on underwater, so technically it’s a armor piece just as much.

Laurels and badges can be turned in for Taste of Liquid World Experience (5,000, which is one level). Roamers can get there too.

Buying a wxp rank with laurels costs 2 laurels per rank, if the average player gets something like 500 laurels a year and spends all of them on wxp ranks they’ll get 250 per year. Mithril starts at 5k wxp rank and Diamond starts at 6400, it’s unlikely that a roamer will ever get these ranks.

After rank 1370 there is absolutely no reason to even think about buying wxp…

More fights often result on more kills/deaths… T2 always been known for having more fight oriented guilds than T1.
FA for exemple, at the moment of this post, have 51% of their score from non-tick.

No. Tiers are the division of 3 servers, which mean each matchup is a different tier… The leagues are the ones divided in groups of 9 (Gold/Silver/Bronze).

You server actually belong to Tier 5 (silver league).

But the quetion on the thread is that NA T3, always get stuck on a loopsided match because there are 4 servers that are T2 material, which mean one of them will always stay on T3 and win by a blowout which is no fun to anyone… On EU, there are glicko gaps like that on T8 and T9.

On NA T3 SoS have 35k lead on 2nd already and is ticking 400+, while on EU T2 Desolation is only 3k ahead of Jade Sea (and Gandara is right behind JS with only 8k behind) and all the 3 are ticking ~200.

I’m sure the coin that the T1 servers put on buying coverage helped on lower tiers fading and everyone stacking on top.

Well, on this thread you can see many people saying that roamers on T1 aren’t people interested in fights, but people doing scouting, yakslapping or even just zerglings trying to get back to their tag.

The only tier with activity 24/7 is T1… Just pick one an go for it. They are pretty much the same.

I haven’t seen any change on people because of PPK… Some still yolo in sure-death fights, and some still run away as soon as their health reach 80%.
