Leaving Vigor alltogether, getting Protection Injection & Backpack Regenerator in Alchemy. Take Energy Sigil to compensate!
Energy sigil with no vigor = perma vigor. Thats all the change we really need.

Althoguh I dislike AR you can always go nades/bombs with 30/0/20/20/0 still. I prefer FT over nades

Engi heal will not be used. In terms of bunkering maybe but for normal engi it will not be used. Healing turret heals far more.

I’m completely against giving gold to hot-joiners unless the ratio is like 5x more for solo/team q. Yes this will help us get more population but honestly the last thing pvp needs is more hotjoiners.
The lord will NOT use his heal if he is out of combat. (AE he killed the guy attacking him) but even when he is DYING of conditions he is now out of combat and WONT use the signet heal.

I left for 2 weeks, for holiday. Leaderboard reset. Now I went from rank 9 on 2 accounts + xfer and top 25 team q on both… to 23 percent. Now I’m in MMR hell.
Yes I am carrying my teams. Winning 1v2’s. Etc. But some people are just uncarryable….

Although I am for endurance bars…….. warriors adreniline, necro DS, ele attune swap, mesmer shatter cd, etc etc SHOULD NEVER be shown. EVER. That is completely making the game idiot proof.
Now endurance bars being show could be very simple and make nearly 0 clutter. Just a skinny lil bar directly below health bar. They could even make health bar skinnier to make room.
This change though if its considered can’t be implemented before big skills animations are ALL fixed, and universal character size. This puts skill with endurance watching. They can c every one of yor big attacks (the ones that need dodged) but they know your endurance. Promotes skillful play better than the random spam we have now.
Now try hard mode would be still fix the animations/size now and not show endurance.. But honestly showing it won’t dumb it down much as most people (those who can’t count dodges to any level at all) don’t know when to dodge period.

Engi with elix r, energy sigil, adventure runes, vigor, using toolbelt skills (restores endurance)… GL.
I am for showing endurance bars but this is low on the totem poll for changes needed in this game.
In terms of spvp (not hotjoin!) SD engi isnt viable. Condition engineer is.
Every condition engineer should have:
above 1k condi damage
incind powder trait
perma vigor/swift
healing turret
Now for generally useful information I’ll give ya help with each kit…
Grenades are for ranged damage. Very strong (obviously grenidier trait)
Flamethrower is for having more burn proc. Has nice cc + blind.
Elixir gun is for team support + weakness. Not for pressure.
Bomb kit is pressure/utility. Strong but not the only pressure kit, (you need another kit)
Toolkit is defensive/for the pull) Not for pressure
Remeber playing engi with 2+ kits takes a higher skill level than a normal build. Don’t get discouraged!

Stop complaining about people running stronger builds. It’s called competition. You want to run a weaker build and complain about your team losing? Stop being a hypocrite.

AR is just badly designed. I am glad it has counter play to an extent (condi bombing someone) that takes skill to use but the game is better offwithout it. Change it to something that doesnt create a hard counter.

Ok so alot if not all of you have been exagerating to the point of hurting this thread’s integrity. Since your all too lazy I’ll do it for you. (and to once and for all shut a few people up)
Basic engi build: 30/0/0/30/10 rabid amulet.
Grenades ( our hardest hitting skill, as pistol 1 is equal to 1 grenade not 3…)
Medium armor golem 270 per with 430 on critical. Keep in mind rabid is 35 crit chance.
IF all 3 grenades hit thats 900~ damage. WITH shrapnel grenade. The 5s cd harder hitting skill.
With normal spammable auto attack grenades its 150 normal hit 250 on crit. Thats 550~ per.
Now assume /guesstimate eles have 16-20k hp. 1.8k damage and you say ok thats only 2 nade hits or 1 full grenade barrage. Heres the issue:
Regen boon
regen from water attune
aoe team healing
water attune heal skills
ether renewal
grenades arent auto hits
Necros are far worse off than engis or power damage. (inb4 elite minion its easy to kill/kite)
dodges/invulns/blocks/kiting/blinds. (last I checked s/f or s/d burst ele can fight from a distance making greandes not reliable)
not standing still
reflect/block projectiles
MY FAVORITE THE HEAL ON SKILL USE SIGNET> passively healing the ele far more than my nades could possibly hurt them for.
Now cool even if you want to argue all day that this isn’t strong enough or isn’t an issue…
COUNTERS are bad gameplay. Its kittened, shouldn’t exist. Yet they are adding MORE.
Necro down state/engis defensives (fear/blind) are now completely countered by a full hp ele.
WITH 0 SKILL REQUIRMENT.
Now if they were to use diamon skill for reduced condition duration/ or minus -1 or 2 ticks off every condition, would be better as it doesnt counter anything.
Discuss/stop defending this stupid idea for a trait.

This is with grenades and 30 points into power line. With shaman ammy/not 30 into power line hitting this damage would straight up b impossible.
Want to know why build diversity is so limited? Defending traits like this is why. You are hurting the game by defending this type of trait. Forcing engis/necros to take SPECIFIC skills/utilities to counter something else…
Lets fix the counters by bringing more counters. What a way to cause issues in a game.

Engis (rabid) are condi based right? Well every single one uses power/vitality trait lines.
Its not an arguement of op/not op atm its that it’s a bad mechanic and a hard counter. Which shouldn’t exist.

With immunity EXISTING (AR Diamon Skin possibl etc) would making pets on a spirit ranger only condi damage based remove their current work-around (minus carrion amulet) for the immunities?
But once game removes/changes these this change could make the game further balanced.

2, It is totally passive and skilless. The way the best player in the world will use this trait is identical to a rank 5 noob. It is completely ridiculous and skillless.
1, Losing to people 500x worse than them just because of spam/lame hard counter passive traits (see s/d thief spammers and immunity people).

No. Engineers are the only class safe from the “autoattack spam” stigma. All other classes should function like engineer: Weak autos, strong aimed skills.

That being said the flamethrower, tool kit auto attack leave much to be desired. ESP the instant death that a flamethrower auto can do if poorly timed. Let alone the fact that a single 1/2 s bomb auto does more than the 2 s channel FT does.
I would love to c flamethrower get a re-work for the 1 skill. I like the idea of tool kit repairing but who uses turrets? Seeing as I hate turrets… Replace the toolbelt auto to something more useful.
^^ Trust me few of the top engis like AR. I hate it personally. If A-net would give an option to replace it with something not so broken I’d take it in a heart beat.

I flat out refuse to run AR. I hate the trait design.
Let me put out some examples from an engi perspective against diamond skin vs AR.
AR: Engis have 18k hp in most cases. Max at 25k. so 4.5k to 6k hp for the immunity proc.
With AR I need to stack 6k worth of damage up. With a 6s burn =3.6k damage. shrapnel grenades alone is 4.5k is not cleansed but thats over a long period of time. 5 stack of confusion is about 750 a tick for 7s.
So AR engis are possible to beat 1v1 but very difficult. For that matter at that low hp any help from ally is seconds for them to live.
Diamon skin:
Ok so the ele has 14-18k hp. Thats 1.4-1.8k damage needed to go below the threshhold.
Engi with rabid can’t do that damage easily. It can be done, I won’t lie. Heres the issue…
water attunment: regen,regen boon, evasive arcana, dagger 5 scepter 3 staff has 2 of the 5 that heal…..(not to mention kiting/dodging)
Then the almighty condi clear heal skill….that has 15s cd.
GL keeping them below the threshhold as a necro/engi.
In4b the argument for cc’ing off point… YES engis can decap easily. Guess what… most of the decap comes from rifle 2 immob….Guess what won’t work anymore… GUess what eles get in the same line as diamond skill.. O yea I forgot stability on less than 15s cd.
Stop defending this broken/stupid/bad desgin mechanic. If you think it’s underpowered its just becuz your desperate for a power damage immunity or your stupid/bad.
Just so people are aware spvp backstabs are possible for up to 17k. Yes its a 4 signet build pure GC that dies if you sneeze.

Elixir C combos well with AR.
Double protection/-20dmg on cc.
NOT BUNKER engi =rabid, regardless of traits.
Engis have defensive traits. Our offesnvie traits aren’t very good. (cough kit refinement, cough static discharge, cough all of firearms trait line)
This is why engi’s have to take 2-3 kits for damage or use HGH/might stacking (hgh is horrid) to use 1 kit. You don’t c 3 utilities + rifle or p/p engi. Damage stinks.
Yes condition immunity (aka auto response, diamond skin, berzerker stance) shouldn’t exist. Personally it just just be extra condi removal. (AE: remove 1 every 3-5s under 25-50 percent hp)
People use the term ENGI BUNKER for engis that know how to live forawhile. Their is a huge difference between engi bunker and not. The bunker does 0 damage.
cough spirit ranger is shaman ammy and higher condi removal + more evades/dodges than engis. Stop your complaining.
As for the Elix c, toolkit,rifle,AR,soldier ammy decap engi…Not viable.
They can decap/recap over certain professions rather easily. Others they can only decap.
Counter: put someone that can keep point contested for as long as possible.. send 1 person back kill engi.. Takes like 10 seconds. Better yet just ignore the engi and grab their point. The engi with a decap can’t carry a team if you win the mid fight, take their point. They have 0 presense in a team fight.
Short List:
Remove bad mechanics (AE hard counters)
Remove hotjoin, create unrated solo q (AE tournament start up can’t leave without punishment etc. BUT UNRATED.)
Rewards.
NO LEGENDARIES (fix animations obviously)
Class balance.
Continued improvment of mmr/mm
Fixed leaderboards… Anyone can exploit these with ease… (im top 25 on 2 accounts for both EU NA solo/team…So easy to exploit)
Do not reward skyhammer farmers.
Make tutorials (better ones)
Explain builds/traits to new players.
New modes? (not tdm…)
More balances patches not 1 month apart. (small 2 week ones would be amazing)
templates.
FIX immob problems (stacking/cleansing)
Fix the absurdly OP in a timely manner. ( not 4-5 months cough warrior cough, s/d thief cough)
Stop rolling out random nerfs/extreme changes without a DETAILED explaniation.
Weekly tournaments.
Public test server.

I have to agree that bunker engi is pretty powerful.. With this build you can dominate anyone once you learn your combos and learn how to spam effectively. This build has almost everything in it and condi spam up the kitten(if you take grenades/bombs). I think it has to be toned down somewhat. I think this build will see a few nerfs in dec 10th patch? I think i remember seeing a few things.
It is a fun build to play around with when you don’t really feel like trying.
This thread is about BUNKER engi not condi one. Nades/bombs arent bunker.
Vigor is being nerfed on engi.
Feel like trying? Engi is one of the hardest professions to play well. Try warrior thats spam/easy mode.
Just to add my points as a engi,
1: AR (immunity in general) is bad design. I try my hardest (which means I just don’t use it) not to use AR.
Necros CAN condi dump you at 30~ percent hp. BUT if engis run melandru runes/elixir c we will live and AR will keep us alive vs necro forever, UNLESS they run the golem, which probably died long before I am low hp.
Engis with flamethrower can kil AR engi… the other condi engis can’t our duration isn’t long enough.
2:the bunker engi… ISN’T viable. Sorry nevir. (btw if you want to talk to one find Anabolly)
The decap from engis come from running rifle. ANY engi can use that. No reason to be a bunker 2. (which btw isnt a bunker just tanky. They die 1v2 very quickly)

I got to say making builds is extremely confusing for new players. I even c wvw’rs ( so called pros) enter hotjoin with a build to terribad makes me want to cry. I mean I’ve seen engis running p/p full condi traits+ utils and running berzerker amulet. I try to help but honestly you need a tutorial explaining stats and maybe even demonstrating what a good build is.

Have you ever seen a norn with twilight/the other one use hundred blade? You cant see anything anywhere near that 300+ radius. Just massive massive particle spam.
I’ve posted my concerns in a different post but yours is on how to get them, and I like yours far better than just buying with glory/chests.
But you do need to reward the old players like me who haven’t left the HotM in over 13 months.

Ok stop defending immob stacking..
A: immob isn’t cleansed in the normal order… Its dead last. putting 3-4 other condis (or in necro/engi case 6-9 more) isnt hard. GL not being immob’d.
B: before hand you couldnt stack so someone would eventually escape. Now entire teams can stack 10+s and your dead. No dodges. Even tele’s and your still immob’d.
C: Takes away all forms of team communication/skill. But I’m convinced A-net is doing this to all parts of the game on purpose…
Maybe not rank 40 wb 30?honestly skyhammer farming needs fixed but thats a seperate issue.
Complaints incoming:
1: omfg the greatswords animations are kittened over the top esp on norn/charr. If I see those in a middle fight I shall be straight up kitten ed/wondering how A-net could be that kittened.
2: wtf happened to my 850 win chests I LOST when I xfered to EU….Or the amazing no chest win bug that hasnt been fixed in a YEAR.
3: If rank 1-40 get access to legendaries I’ll be kitten ed as well.
4: 2-h legendaries should be far more expensive than 1-h.
5: Engineers should get something done to our kit swapping (personal preference)/hobosack. (AE kit legendaries effects? of course limited particle effects)
6: This better not cost ANY part of pve farming to receive one.

Phaenton Matchmaking will always be a joke ( we hope it won’t) but unfortunalty there will always be fights were you have an ele, and idiot, severely out comp’d, or just bad players. Not much A-net can do to fix those.
Now if you are receving very obviously bad players (new or idiots) vs teams of players you know aren’t then yes its an issue.

Yes the strat is do damage the treb not kill it. Then come back if they use it again. The issue most people have is mobilty vs whoever you send to kill it.
Shadow trap thief and portal mesmer can defend/repair treb very easy. You must have a very mobile team member to take him out or learn to dodge every treb shot until he can.
Take this a little biased as an engineer but necro conditions in certain cases are far longer than mine and in other cases mine are longer.
Shrapnel nades=16s bleeds
Shrapnel trait16s blled
Burns= incindiary powder 4s
Burn bomb 2s per tick
Poison nades= up to50s
Engi pistol =2s
Necro
Necros autoattack =6s bleed /poison
Fear-1-2s
Burn 2s
Necro signet of spite……no comment.
