Guardians and Engineers are basically the only ones with access to light fields. Maybe give other professions access as well to even it out.
Mesmer and Ranger are the only ones with very limited blast finishers.
The ranger is fine with condition removal but maybe give mesmers access to both. On weapon skills.
That will possibly give mesmers more usefulness against condi spam.
Edit: Leap finishers too. Not just blast as that on team scenarios can get a little overboard.
Stealth has counter plays. AOE fields that activate ( hmm necro… hmmmmm). Stealth yourself. Be aware, and play smart.
Guardians with hammer yes have a nice CD blast finisher. I also didn’t say remove all condis. I was thinking 1-2 aoe and leap to be 1 more than the blast. Not ruining any condition based damage but allows extra cleanse.
Guardians being spammed from distance would ahve to weapon swap if no one is on point when they wield hammer. For example staff or whatever light field then hammer swap blast. Also I think the radius would be large to make up for only 1-2 cleanses.
Any thoughts on this?

Yea I am aware you can move camera but NO other skill requires this unless you count throwing grenades behind you. Even that that’s only for visibility not aiming. If they could fix SD it would add lots of variety.
Instead of making hard condition counters and turning condition builds completely useless why not make it team based which actually promotes good team play?

Adding skills/traits makes buffs/nerfs even more unbalanced. Try at the game play mechanics.

Look we all hate the condition spam meta atm and people complain about retaliation, lack of condition removal, and lack of team play.
Why not make light fields/blast/leap finishers remove conditions instead of giving retaliation?
This would allow team play/positioning to help go against the condition spam. And instead of nerfing condition damage this gives counter play not changes to professions.
Also power based builds are countered by protection/weakness. Condition builds generally have access to these. Why not give a team the ability to cleanse better than firing projectiles at your own team mates?(thru a light field)
This wouldn’t affect game play unless people actually knew how to use it preventing people who stink at the game or refuse to play as a team to do well.
What do people think of this?
Lol syncing is very possible my team tested this just to make sure and it fully works. Landed 4people (only 4 of us que’d) on same team. Hardly fair?
Fix this A-net there are several threads with easy fixes, including the 10-20 people q’d then randomize.
I for one won’t be q’ing again as I don’t want to abuse this nor face a premade as a solo. Defeats the purpose….
Honestly I’d like to see some form of amount of people q’d (lots of issues with that idea but cant think of a better one) and have it only randomize teams when 20 people are q’d. then makes matches. Time limit (say 10-20 minutes) would accomplish the same thing abit a different way. Each has flaws but seems better than current.
Let’s wait at least another few days before we decide whats best.
And for syncing the flag peoples same teams seems a great idea except the population may not be high enough.
Hey guys I got tired of seeing so many new players not understanding pvp and being trolol stomped by experienced players. Also for low rankers and joined a tourny being yelled at for doing so.

xtriz Yes we all know d/d can survive for ages the issue is any decent player will dodge ur entire fire burst and your now 0 damage. Gl with those 4 minute matches.
I can confirm this is on A-net side. My pc (way over the top gaming rig) still takes up to 10 seconds whereas before it was likely 2-3.
Also the spawn to LS is annoying. Please fix.

I mean this in a pvp setting not pve.
Not everyone has access to a gaming pc or fast internet so pvp can and probably is un-playble competitively.
If you have slow loading screens Ready Boost can generally (if you have low RAM) speed them up.
If you like higher graphics without lag turning off shadows/lod distance/and post processing are major offenders.
For ping related (latency) use pingtest.net to check yours. Wifi connections are slower ping wise than the same using cables (ethernet).
Simple tools like battlenet or leatrix can also fix minor lag.
If your in an area with a bunch of wifi signals (if you see 6-7+ then this is your issue!) using wifi will have a significant lag or decease to quality of service.

As for elixirs I would like to c if the throw HITS for SD to aim for target not straight ahead (into ground). Defeats the purpose of SD if over half the toolbelts ( more like nearly all of them) are un-targetable.
I will be creating ( I hope this is a good idea) a guild for new pvp’rs to help them with whatever they need. I play daily so feel free to send mail/whisper and join in to help others!
And neither do wins as I am sure anyone getting that rank 1 or for that matter an afk’r etc will agree. The right way to do this is to completely re-do the point system to actually show who was helpful or not. Shame though this won’t happen.
I hate to be the guy but this is only a L2p issue for the OP. Stealth has never been a threat just an interesting mechanic.
Yes I can understand it is frustrating for new players but last I checked anything that made them lose was frustrating ae evade spam, stealth, extreme burst etc… tired of hearing these topics.
Maybe I was missing something but this is an ele thread stop discussing engi/necro/ranger nerfs.
Also for tornado, if it doesn’t do damage don’t use it. But it works very well as an aoe knockbacks. Use it for that purpose then leave the form.
I am having issues with flawless now. Never did before but GW crashes the 2nd I start it. Better yet not my UI completely disappears when alt tab out of game even without flawless running.

Hey all fellow engineers I’ve recently (I know sad) noticed that depending on screen position static discharge can actually be aimed up instead of instantly hitting the ground. My issue is why was this implemented?
I’ve never heard of a pvp’r that has screen flat ( or upwards) and not looking down at character for the obvious reason.
So should static discharge be fixed to always aim flat/parallel to the ground instead of straight into it? For that matter now that I think of it pistol auto attack does the same thing.
Would this make sd o.p if fixed (for far better variety) or stay the same for that very reason?

I did say it was effective. Didn’t say it was viable at high end playing.
SD engi is just very very painful in small aoe. it can hit 10-20k every 20s in a instant burst.

Feight if you run mantra mesmer ( I want it to be viable) against a non brain damaged d/p thief? Gl. they can SPAM interrupts on you. You will never heal.
My team wanted to join but sadly between a country not allowed( our bunker), 17 year old , (thief) has to work and me moving the day of qualifiers (in car for 9 hours) we kinda cant play next time! go NA!

For starters it can be interrupted. And before all you kittens who don’t know how to play there is about a 1 second cast time.
Next off only 2 professions actually use it. Namely the only ones with below 90s cd elites. If others are using it your using the wrong runes as a condi cleanse is nice but 90s+ for it isn’t worthwhile/viable.
Don’t complain about the boons as its only 5 seconds. Even full boon duration its ~7.
Thieves and Warriors only ones who use it, and the only 2 who need a full condi cleanse on a low cd. Last I checked thief and warrior complain about conditions.. Lets QQ more on thief/warrior forums!!

Use Jax’s idea for able to change builds but unable to see enemy’s comp until the start. Then lock. Simple fix everyone is happy.
Kharr that’s incorrect Thieves have the lowest cd elite (basil venom 36s traited) and Lyssa’s recharge is above that so it hardly matters. The rune set is fine.
I for one will take solo q seriously even with a tpvp team.
Its not about team vs no team for me it’s having something to do during the time before my team logs on… as I’m sure more teams feel the same way. As for the LB part… Probably not/depending on how they are implemented. win/loss ratings won’t be taken seriously. (random team with 1 bad player = instant loss) but if they base it off the individuals contribution it will be taken seriously. Unfortunately this probably won’t exist.

The issue is when you solo q and have a team of 5 of same profession. Then you have a balance issue.
Since I don’t feel like reading 6 pages and people still mention the 30/30/10 build I thought I’d say not every necro uses that now.

There are things that can be changed from double fear duration to marks give life force and a few minor changes (utilities)

IF you are actually having issues beating bomb engi than you got L2p issues.
Every build has a counter. Several in fact.
Bomb engi < condi mesmer, full condi necros (dagger 4/staff4), and full glass cannon GS mesmers.
Better yet dont fight on point. Then they have a hard time beating even nade engis.
This build actually requires skill to play, has team support and is fun to play.
Dont nerf my engi it is finally a build I enjoy.

LeGi I agree with most of the points you made.
I run something extremely similar to Teldos and you essentially get 7s of stealth AFTER the combo is off. Thats crazy fun….
Yes Big bomb then smoke stand there and even if bomb hits it’ll stealth you.
Better yet add in rocket boots and you easily escaped.
The build has decent condi damage and with enough skills they can keep pressure 1v2
Stealth decaps, High AOE pressure, decent survival, great escape mechanisms…
The build is weak to condition builds, namely necros, but you have enough CC they cant stand on point.
Engineers,
toolkit + rifle = instant kill
Points A,C just walk up to point magnet pull rifle 4 off the map. lol.
Shield OH + bomb kit + mine/toolkit + FT= eventually they are going off the map. Just run a bunker.
Also with the easy access to sniper areas the Static Discharge build is even more viable.
Engineers Ftw.

I dislike mines more than the skills I use. Although for 1v1 I can say tool kit pull into minefield is better. But I like low cd toolbelts like rifle turret. Its 8s….
Distance and speed> little extra single target damage.
Takes Anet few months to implement changes no worries haha.
Look we all remember the extreme instant burst hundred nade gave us well I’ve been running Static Discharge burst. Hurts like big mega Kitties!

run with whatever heal you like. ( i prefer med kit but heal turret is a choice)
then rifle turret (sounds stupid) utility goggles and tool kit. Supply crate is an obvious elite
the combo is obvious if your cant figure it out that’s your issue.
