I am considering this build for my guardian, however I am also looking at Strife’s build

He also uses different sorts of weapons and mainly runs dungeon.

Now I have to say the 15 points in radiance works beautiful in PvE, however looking at the end game and mainly focusing on WvW. Do you think your build can work in WvW big battles and how does it compare towards Strife’s build?

Holy random lag spikes Batman.

10mbps connection, complete bandwith available and I randomly have lag spikes in pvp/pve/WvW

The best ones are in cursed shore: two days in a row that my screen just stops and all my skills start blinking (the same as being disconnected) and I can’t do anything but then when Grenth ends, it goes supersonic mode and the past minute happens in one second. Same problem with Melandru.

In WvW whenever bigger groups are on the map, I have random lag spikes that happen. Especially in Stonemist Castle, but everyone has skill lag in that fight (which is a shame since it’s the biggest fight in the game).

In pvp I randomly lag on random maps, either it’s skill lag and everything happens in supersonic speed again. Or I am rubberbanding the whole time.

This is annoying.

I am having the exact same problem and every time it’s when I am near bay.

The error it gives is the exact it gives to the other people here.

Please fix this and the lag spikes, this officially annoys me.

You can’t kill a thief? That’s weird

If playing d/d you can easily hold them off with your shocking aura or even frost aura

People whine about ONE second nerfs in mobas and other games, and you think that 5 seconds isn’t significant?

Oh boy.

I’m not saying it isn’t significant. But looking at the skill in a general view of our entire skill set, I don’t get what the problem is. You can still stack permanent swiftness (!), not every profession can.

Most people who are mad about this are berserker builds and honestly I couldn’t care less about those builds. Far too reliant on one single skill to save you out of a difficult situation.

Everyone is blowing this change out of proportion and think that Anet is bringing out the Nerf bat on the elementalist. They’re not.

One thing you have to keep in mind is that elementalist has mobility. Strong mobility.

Our mobility is the thief’s stealth. This RTL was pretty strong with only 15 seconds CD, people were spamming it like Thieves mashing Heartseeker. Did it annoy me? of course it did, have to change my rotation – make sure I keep vigor up with cantrips.

Is it class breaking? No, just no

You can’t ever be too reliant on one skill in this game, maybe in other MMO’s but here you’ll get killed fast if you do. Every single time you NEED that skill, it will be on CD.

Besides elementalists can stack permanent swiftness. Other classes are just snails to me.

Look for me nothing changed, it’s not as easy to stack vigor but you can use cantrips for that. I longer fights I still get plenty of my boons and outlast every single person in Pve or WvW.

If you consider 5 (!) seconds on pretty strong gap closer, the end of your build (believe me people have been whining about it) then you are doing something wrong.

Oh and Berserkers eles (on the squishiest class but whatever) don’t get a say in this. If you are too reliant on one skill to save you because you went full glass cannon then you are doing something wrong.

Never go full glass cannon, especially on elementalist.

Because they are desperately trying to create more content -> forcing players to do things they dont want for other things they want to do.

They should add maybe different tokens for higher levels so you can buy amulets or earrings. Of course they still should stay outside of fractals for players that dont want to do them.

Well I get that they implement different ways to get the same items. It’s one of the things I appreciate about this game, you don’t get pushed in one single direction to get good armour or jewels.

However this makes no sense, people who run fractals need those ascended items to get rid of the agony effect(or completely mitigate it). Why would they put that specific item outside the actual dungeon that uses it…

I understand they provide the opportunity for people who don’t run fractals to get them, but it’s beyond reason not to give people who do run them an actual way with relics to get them.

I still think that we need to be able to salvage unused rings for globs or vials. Otherwise it’s all pure RNG.

Really interested in ArenaNet there vision for the fractals, it makes no sense to only have rings available for pristine fractal relics. And the rings you don’t use (account bound!) can’t be sold or salvaged.

So this makes me wonder, why are the amulets only available outside the actual fractals…

Go to Wow, Lotro or DCU theyre allways pretty accurate. I mean there is allways something that can go wrong so that it takes longer but then you can communicate and please communicate the right timeframe for the right timezone, cant be to hard.

First off, Lotro or Turbine rather is really bad at communicating to the player base. Yes they announce their downtime, but they have no other choice because they have to bring the servers down.

Anet can update the live servers. They said it will arrive today on the 26th, keeping in mind that they are in Washington DC (Pacific Time). It will probably be in the late evening that we in Europe get the update.

I don’t understand why people complain about this way, I appreciate this much more than lotro bringing their servers down for infinite times and leave bugs in there until the next update…

The timeframe for holiday events isn’t shorter or longer for European players, so relax and enjoy the game

Have a look at daphoenix her builds on this forum, I run the d/d build which is tons of fun very survivable.

If it’s your first try, go with staff. It’s support yes but you can never go wrong with staff. As for main stats I would look for Healing power/power/toughness/vitality.

But again depends on your trait built, so look for daphoenix her topics

GW2 101: all races have the same base speed (even Charrs who run funny) so as not to give an advantage to other races. If they would listen to you, this would result in Eles running all over the map in 10 seconds or less. Which isn’t what you want if you are looking for balance

So no.

We can easily stack permanent swiftness on our weapons so don’t see any real issue. I do agree that windbore dagger is beyond useless.

I’m just wondering from time to time in WvW I will be engaged by 2 or 3 people and usually I can take on one or two of them but most of the times the damage they do is to big for me to outheal so I have to use my escape skills. It’s usually that they to a high burst damage to me (like Engineer rifle) which I just can’t outheal.

Is this something that’s normal or that more Toughness stacking will resolve? I have 1550 toughness with 1750 power and 1450 vitality at the moment but also 900 healing power which helps a lot.

We are looking into this matter. We initially believed that anyone who earned a chest surely would receive one, and that is why the email refers to clearing the mailbox. We believed yesterday that the list was complete and all earned chests were distributed. However, we have noted continued questions about the matter and we are not discounting that there may be an issue. The team will get to the bottom of it and I’ll update you when we know more.

Thank you for making a statement on this and actually saying things didn’t work out as intented. I appreciate all the effort you put into this and hope this can be resolved in a good way for all those involved.

I stacked healing power as well on my elementalist, and I use staff build in dungeons and WvW. I have to say it’s pretty amazing how survivable it makes you, if traited in water for a heal and you attune to water you get a nice chunck of health back.

You’re water skills for healing are pretty nice as well.

And staff people isn’t a dps built either way, to few single target dps skill for that on your weapon. If you want to dps (and have less support healing/condition removal which is what we are suited for best) then you need to switch to a D/D build in toughness.

You shouldn’t adapt to what other people “believe” the class should be, you should play the way you like your elementalist and what suits you best. If that is a more supportive rol then please don’t buy new gear, you will only get disgruntled with yourself.

Stop spamming our shoutbox with accusations, you ountumber us by plenty and you still feel the need to come annoy us on a free website.

Could be an interesting match up, AG has improved over the last couple of weeks. With better tactics and new organization.

Just one Question, who came to AG website to accuse us of exploits? If you do say that, back it up with images and the guild tag – instead of just saying stop using exploits, so we can actually do something about it.

AG is Pro at exploiting glitches and cheating like mad just like Abaddon’s Mouth. it really is a shame that even though you have such huge numbers you have to resort to exploiting these exploits.

I seriously doubt that AG has exploit users in there ranks, haven’t seen any of them as far as I’m concerned.

But if you do report them please, and post pics or some kind of proof of it. Just saying it won’t change a thing. Write down their Guild tag as well

As for the match up, it seems AG is really dominant this week. We had the whole EB map yesterday afternoon! Doesn’t make for an even fight though, but you guys just keep coming

I got a legendary out of the chest!

Oh no wait a minute, I got zipp because Anet decided to disconnect me right before the we kill the ancient karka.

I spent 2h 30 in this event, I had highs and lows in it, I had fun in it but most of all I was dissapointed when I did not get anything to show for it towards my guildies for all my work.

I sincerely hope we get some kind of compensation, or I might just return to another MMORPG.

I had so much fun last night, some epic fights with both Underworld & Drakkar lake.

Especially the fight trying to attack the garrisson on drakkar lake was tons of fun, even though AG lost the first round I had an epic time fighting you guys.

And don’t worry about using Mesmer portals, you use it to your advantage and it works. We used them as well to get rid of a zerg in front of our bay.

You have to wait until the clock shatters like rickets says, but you probably know that already.

If you do wait until its shattered and then still hit the wall while doing an inch perfect jump, then the instance is most likely bugged. Several people had the issue where they just can’t enter the Tower.

It’s annoying yes, but a relog or restart usually helps this matter

Right after the reset this week, Abbadon took our orb on our own borderlands. No problem with that, it all happened fair and square.
What I do have a problem with is that you took it to the hills on our map, and then when we have a zerg attacking the hills (after the update) decide to let a BOT army come up behind us and let them stand all on one place doing autoattacks on us.

We killed them all with AoE attacks and reported them.

I hope ArenaNet intervenes in this matter, because it is spinning out of control.

Since Miller Sound is reading this post, can I ask to stop farming the waterfall at the Jumping Puzzle. It has been several days now that I see several players of Miller Sound there just killing the people who fall into the waterfall.

You are already winning by a billion points, there is no reason to turn to annoying and frankly childish tactics. I always try to avoid killing people in the JP, because it really should be a combat free zone in such an area, but it is not so at least have some respect for people who don’t want to fight in a jumping puzzle or at least not farm killed on it.

Good to see people still in high spirits on our servers and still keep bringing the fight!

I hope we get a stable community going again so we can up our game, we seem to be improving a little against the very oiled machine called Miller’s Sound but are still behind RoF.

Thanks to all guilds (UNTY/FURY/Ispy/CROW/…) we keep setting up events on our maps and trying to go guerrilla as much as possible.
Hopefully we can keep improving and ArenaNet will realize something has to give so WvW can be fun for every server again.

Having the outmanned buff on a saturday afternoon is just a sign that the whole server is going down the drain. And people don’t care anymore about WvW.

Two weeks ago life was beautiful on Aurora glade, we had just beaten Fort Ranik & Jade Sea into oblivion by getting 300k points in the fight. Everyone was psyched and revving up for the next fight, our morale was very high. We were preparing for a fight against Gunnars hold & Blacktide.

Then we our fall from grace started: we couldn’t keep up with them, either by losing due to nightcapping or just getting outmatched by the better players. We lost the match up and had to fight Fort Ranik & Jade Sea last week again. However something changed on our server although we started the fight in first place for the first days. After that we just started getting overrun regularly, especially at night since we are lacking a big night crew. We started lagging behind Jade Sea, and Fort Ranik was coming back hard by putting up an amazing comeback. Eventually we lost out by 40k points behind Fort Ranik, and we were in last place again…

This week we are up against Miller’s sound and Ring of Fire. RoF seems to be in a similar case like us, constantly outnumbered and just getting overrun at night by Miller’s sound who seems to have a big dedicated crew going both during the day and night (GMT+1 time).
Seems to me we are in downward spiral spinning towards the end of the table, this is really annoying for people who keep bringing the fight and want to defend but we just lose out due to circumstances beyond our control.

So what happened Aurora glade, you used to be so cool.

[I know the free transfer thing is a big issue here, but if this keeps up people will just keep transferring to other more winning servers. If they start losing, they go to another bigger server, etc … Until all the small ones are at the bottom, with absolutely zero chance of ever going back to the top. WvW is caught in a vicious circle]
