I like them and have a set on almost all my alts. I do mix and match a bit on some alts though.

Have you checked your own Internet connection around those times? Run a ping test?

Did you make sure you deleted old mail? The limit is 10/10 and new mail won’t arrive until you clear some old ones first. Then it should show up.

You are welcome. I’m not sure on the ticket issue as I didn’t try. I just shared my experience as it was something I wasn’t expecting and found out later on. Fortunately I didn’t have a lot of influence or upgrades at the time. Still don’t because it’s just me.

Here is what the wiki says:

Guilds are not tied to any specific world; all players can join any guild regardless of which world they play on. However, influence and guild upgrades are specific to each world: players in the same guild but on different worlds will contribute to separate influence pools and build through separate upgrade trees. Members that transfer will have to regenerate influence and build new upgrades on the new world.

So I am guessing a support ticket may not solve your problem.

I transfered about a month ago with only my guild being myself. The guild name of course stayed but all the upgrades and influence remained on my old server.

While it is nice that you may be willing to offer an apology I don’t think that will keep you from getting a suspension should Anet deem your remarks a violation.

Edit: I would like to add that like many health problems and other conditions, mental illness in itself is a serious and unfortunate issue that many deal with on a daily basis. Not knowing exactly what you said I would just ask that you take that into consideration in the future.

Pokemon is all about enslaving intelligent creatures and forcing them to fight for you – I was pointing that out before it was popular. There is an Asian Pen ‘n Paper rpg all about turning into animals and helping people; don’t remember the name right now. I was really disappointed when whatzihoozit got bought up by SOE and gutted; the game was supposed ta have a pretty good social combat system in the works. (I got to play with it a bit – kind of a strategy card game – was actually really cool) Haven’t seen that happen in an MMO since. (and it was never finished in that game, either)

You do realize this would start a slippery slope don’t you? You would have people flooding support over a yellow item they accidentally threw in the forge, people asking for help with stuff they accidentally deleted, people wanting do overs because they accidentally bound the wrong dye to the wrong character, people wanting do overs because they accidentally bought the wrong item, and the list can go on and on and on and on and on….

Personally I’d try the forum first to see if anyone else has reported this and or found ways to fix it.

Part of being extremely rare is that not everyone gets one, myself included. Oh well somehow I’ll survive and get through these troubled times.

You can buy gems with in game gold to pay for a server transfer. I’m not sure what the current exchange rate is off the top of my head but if you open the TP and select the trade gold for gems options it should show you.

You can also buy gems with real world money to pay for a transfer or other items you may like from the gem store. You can do so with a credit card, Paypal or gem card available at several retail stores.

Also if you do not wish to pay you can delete all of your characters and transfer for free. Just make sure you put anything you want to keep in your bank first before deleting the characters.

If you are that careless with something that important then I guess I would say sorry for your luck. It isn’t like it auto sold as soon as you opened the vendor window. Don’t start spamming left click while at the vendor. IMO it should not be the role of Anet staff to clean up mistakes made by a player. I’m guessing they have actual bugs and problems to deal with.

2. The only real point of sever transfer is for WvW or if you move from Europe to NA or vice versa.

The rest I suggest you just jump in and try a bit of everything to see what you might like. I would not suggest using that Ranger until you hear back from support. Personally I would be hesitant to do anything with any characters until support has had a chance to see what is going on.

No one is overreacting. People are trying to explain why the language filter doesn’t mean people can say what ever they want. I see a fair amount of cursing on my server as well but from what I have seen it is the context that gets people in trouble or the volume. It’s one thing to say (I’m actually typing kitten for this example) “Oh kitten I just fell again” and another to use similar words as a means to insult, degrade, or use them in a sexual nature. Also I think one is more likely to get flagged if they are just cursing for the sake of cursing (curse spam), “kitten kitten kitten that piece of kitten kitten kitten can kitten kitten kitten.”

In your case most of the cursing is probably tolerated a bit more due to the players on your server apparently not minding casual cursing. I would be willing to bet though that many people on your server have served a few 72 hour vacations as well. If anything maybe your server will have a few more eyes on it after your post.

Sounds like you didn’t get banned but a suspension. It is the middle part of the last name I imagine earned you a vacation. You will probably just have to wait it out and consider it a lessoned learned while you think of a different and more appropriate name.

No they will end up just taking up space in the bank until deleted. Your friend could transmute them onto a white item first to break the soulbind but if this isn’t done prior to deletion of the character that owns them then they will just take up space in the bank.

While I am comfortable in the information I have shared I don’t know if they have changed any policies recently or not.

It’s not. There are maps in each of the zones that have wide-open area’s that nobody goes to. In these wide-open area’s, you have 4+ Holographic Projectors. By running around in circles with Swiftness, you’ll be able to hit them all with no problem.

I got all my achievements through this method, especially since nobody is going for Projectors anymore.

When holo projectors launched at the begining of Dragon Bash many players were camping the ones in the lowest level maps. I saw people literally standing at the same one waiting for them to respawn. I asked a few why they were doing this and they said they wanted to get the achievement done. This was the first/second day. Anyway, I just went about my business going here and there doing my thing and hit them as I ran across them. I think I got that achievement done in 3-4 days.

The language filter isn’t a flaw. The flaw resides with the players that think it gives them a license to say what ever they want in chat. Most of the people I have seen get suspensions involved much more than saying, “Oh kitten!” every now and then. Many people are not offended by basic curse words. If they are used in a manner that is purposely offensive, used in a sexual manner, racist, or threatening then that is when more people start to get offended and the perpetrator usually gets a 72 hour vacation.

Well, City of Heroes had Super Group bases that had a few fun features to them. The one that I can most imagine being in GW2 is the teleporters.

Basically, if you got all the exploration badges (Points of Interest) in a zone while representing your group, the group got a “beacon” for that zone. Then, you could build a teleporter in your base (additional stuff to power it was also required), and attach some beacons to it. That teleporter would then be able to send you straight to that zone from within your base. Each teleporter could support only a couple of beacons, so if you wanted fast access to a lot of zones you needed several teleporters and the support systems for them all, as well as room for all of this stuff.

In GW2, such a system would be outstanding. Any small guild would be able to manage a guild house capable of teleporting to a couple of useful zones, while working up to a large guild house capable of connecting to most of the zones in the game would be a long term goal for even large guilds.

So it isn’t so much a house per say but more of a travel system? I suppose I was envisioning something more cosmetic when I thought of the concept. Maybe I have been playing too much Minecraft

Many users have found changing the language to French and letting it finish then back to your default language will correct this. I know it sounds odd but I’m not trolling. I have seen this work for others here many times. I usually respond to threads on the same topic just to share this with others. If that doesn’t work others have said just leave it be and it will eventually finish, in some case over night.

I’m curious how housing would work having never played an MMO with housing unless they added it after I stopped playing it. I don’t mean this in a condescending way but what is the purpose of it? Is it just to have a place to hang out with some furniture and some pictures? Would there be special features like crafting stations? Would there be some other activity you can do in a house that you can’t to in other areas of the game? Would it have extra storage for items? How would a house be acquired? I’m guessing it would be like an instance otherwise there would be so many houses everywhere you couldn’t get around.

I am just making a guess but I imagine many house type cosmetic items or extra storage would somewhat involve the gem store. If this is the case I would think many people would be unhappy.

I don’t see why they don’t just leave them on there either unless it is to encourage people to use RWM instead of waiting to trade gold for gems. I got the pick axe at the end of the sale. The character I put it on has been on the shelf because at the time I was new and wasn’t sure which character I would use much. I’m still not I like the pick axe and would have them on all my alts if I had the opportunity. The sickle is okay, but I decided it I didn’t want it enough for all alts. Plus I have a horrible time seeing the plant nodes on the mini map because I’m color blind so I do very little plant harvesting unless the plant is right in my face.

IMO they should be a permanent item on the gem store AND BE account bound, greed should only go so far, if at all.

Oh I agree I was simply speculating on why they have decided not to do so. I would much rather be able to use the tools across characters.

As a help to people with forum searches, I found that you can setup custom Google searches that will search only a selected number of sites. I setup one for myself that only searches the GW2 forums. So far it works great.

I have found the easiest way without having to set anything up is to simply google something like, "Guild Wars 2 forum (what ever you are looking for here). It seems to work fairly well and the newer posts are usually on top. I just don’t like it when someone here asks a question and gets a response from someone like, “This has been posted many times. Use the search function.”

I’ve tried to find trends in the search function and the best I can tell it is somewhat random. Most often it seems to be limited by the date of the posts, showing only a few posts from the same day. For example I just searched the word “guardian” and the results were two pages with only posts from today. Other times I have seen results from several days but mostly none with the keyword in the title. Every now and then I only get results showing posts I have read. I can see where this would be difficult for someone to research a topic before posting.
