What level are you playing? That will depend somewhat on how much you can make and of course what you would need it for. I do fairly well just playing as normal, PvE mostly. I sell everything I don’t need either to vendor or on TP depending on the item. I don’t craft to sell because I have found it really isn’t worth the time to gather all the mats. Farming again will depend on your level and where to go. There are places to farm at every level. Hearts give decent money but I consider it way point money. Speaking of that, I don’t way point often because it often doesn’t take that long to run about. That saves money.

Oh and as far as ease, if you have some extra real money cash you can buy gems to trade for gold. Quick and easy.

I don’t believe you can. I believe part of the reason is for tracking players in the event something needs to be done with the account. Also so people can’t cause problems for other players then change their name so they are not recognized by the people they caused problems with.

I’ve opened over a thousand in LA alone(3500 total so far) …. maybe my problem has been that I don’t have a stack of exactly 31….. I guess it is worth a try.

I just tried this out of boredom/goof around. Got exactly 31 coffers, well 34 by accident so I deleted the other 3. Went to LA and opened them. I got the usual stuff, candy, more fireworks than a 4th of July celebration in a major city could use, stupid lobster cakes, and 4 mini knights (I have almost 30 of them now). It doesn’t work, don’t believe the hype

I think the more this thread gets read, the more likely players are to end up in overflow in LA

Was your name just “LOL” or were there some other letters or words also in the name? I’m a pretty creative person and I can think of several ways to combine “LOL” with other words or letters to make it much less benign.

At the risk of sounding accusatory, from my experience reading this forum more often than not there has been more to the story. If this is not true in your situation I apologize.

Simple solution. When it comes to such valuable items any time you are in a situation where you might be able to get rid of them/sell them, don’t start spamming left click. I weapon swap often as well. I don’t have items near that value at the moment but still important to me. I avoid such problems in two ways. When I trade the weapon out I take the extra 5 seconds to make sure I put it in the invisible bag and move other items to clear he spot if needed. Whenever I’m involved in a process that results in my character no longer having an item I take a second to pay attention to what I’m doing. I’m sorry but it isn’t that easy to nuke such things and in my opinion it is the fault of the person that did so.

With something that valuable, you’d at least take the extra two seconds between a weapon swap to put the item in an Invisible bag.

I don’t think you read. They can’t be sold to vendors. So his story of selling it to a vendor did not happen.

I have developed a great solution. At the end of the event give everyone 1 ticket. However the skins can only be transmuted using an extremely rare transmission stone that come from drops. Problem solved. Everyone gets their ticket.

You are indeed in Queensdale. Not many hang out around the farm there aside from that event and the giant worm event. If you go up the road from the farm a bit north/slightly east I think there is a heart there to kill some bandits with a cave. Usually a few people there right now because they are farming coffers. Also try Shamor Garrison and the centaur fields near by. Fair amount of people there at the moment, can do it around level 5, 7 probably a bit easier and there is a skill point there.

I agree with the OP, sure he/she could have been more careful, but there are items (quest items/certain karma items?) that can not be sold…certainly Legendary items deserve the same treatment?

Try putting in a ticket and see if you could get your account rolled back?

The only players you will see now in lower levels are possibly creating newer alts or doing dailies by killing low level mobs, i suggest joining a good pve guild where you can get more of mmo feel.

That’s odd. I see new players in starter maps rather frequently. I know this because I enjoy helping new players so I cruise around starter maps when I need a break from other stuff.

I forgot to mention to OP it depends on the time of day and your time zone as well. Weekends and evenings are usually better.

It depends on a few things. What sever you are on, medium pop, high pop, very high pop. Also it depends on what map you are in. I have noticed that you see most players in the Queensdale map at low levels and several higher level players as well for the dynamic events. At L5 I would guess you probably have not explored much. I’m not saying this as an insult but you level pretty quick doing exploration and the heart quests that go with them. Several areas of maps draw more players because of dynamic events, bosses etc. If you were to post what map you are currently on then I’m sure several can tell you what areas draw more players. Also keep in mind if you are doing personal story aside from traveling the areas are instanced.

I hope this helps and I would suggest the players helping players forum. Great group of helpful people there.

I am not fine with it…I am happy I don t have to boot into windows tho but I still can t buy gems via the Trading post and instead I have to drive to bestbuy or Gamestop to buy cards.

This should have been resolved in an update a few days ago. Have you done the other steps mentioned in this forum related to fixing bugs? Unfortunately, due to the lack of information/respect for Mac customers, I am guessing there will be nothing past beta any time soon if ever. While I have bought a few gems after the bug was fixed, I’ve maxed out my bank slots, bag slots on all my alts so I probably won’t buy anymore at this point. I’ll probably convert gold if there is a cosmetic item I want. I agree, driving to a store to buy a card to support a system that won’t even provide their customers information is something I would never do.

Don’t get your hopes up. Last time I in a ticket regarding an item, they didn’t have the power to restore it or anything. I was specifically told by them they have no power over the content or coding in the game. Had this happen a regular item and another quest item that was part of the one time Karka event which I could not finish the questline ever because of this.

I was simply pointing out that this is probably the OPs only way it will be addressed good or bad. Even if they were to read this thread and address it the result would probably be the same. I seriously doubt the OPs statement of bumping this thread will accomplish anything that a support ticket cannot.

Just don’t do it when ever you are in an important situation. The speed buff is nice but when it wears off the slow down condition is terrible.

Not many I think 4 or 5 real fast. Something like that. They key is to eat them/click them real fast till you puke.

I’m probably the only one that has found away to take damage walking up stairs.

I don’t want to have to do dailies at all. I just want to automatically get a laurel every day. That way I never have to log in or play. Heck, make it 10 laurels while we are at it.

I’m with you there. I don’t care for the look but I can see why they would be desirable to many. About 800 coffers from game play, the usual stuff minis, food, more fireworks than I will ever use. I’m certainly not going to spend money trying to get or them or time bashing my head against the monitor over them.

The joke is that PUGs are generally kitten and fall apart when the wrong people are put together, causing ad hominem en masse. Stereotypically, the person would imagine their teammates as being bad PUG’ers but everyone in the party is thinking the same thing.

Seems like a very simple thing for ANet to provide and make a lot of people happy. If they don’t, it’s really out of spite more than anything else.

I’ve stated this before and I totally agree the timing was poorly planned. However, I’m fairly certain things are not as simple as point, click, here you go more fireworks and hats. These types of events were probably programed into the game well before the event. I really doubt they are doing it out of spite. Most people seem like they don’t care if they actually see the fireworks, they just want the hats. I wish they would just mail the hats to everyone that didn’t get them, seriously. That’s probably not that simple to do either.

I understand your frustration and in my view the window for fireworks was a little short and on a holiday weekend (Father’s Day). Also I agree that it was kind of a bummer for people that had real life commitments during that event. However I don’t know about poorly advertised.

In my opinion someone might be taking an MMO too seriously when they spend time trying to place labels on other players. Then again I’m a “casual” so what do I know.

I use /say a lot but then again I do a fair amount of RP. I have a funny story from the other day.

I used one of those charged potions that turned me into a fire elemental and was just cruising around Queensdale. I saw what appeared to be a new player in the starter heart farm. She (female toon) seemed a little disoriented and I flew up. I thought she was new because she ran from me at first and then walked around looking at me, walked up and walked back a few times like she was trying to figure out how to engage me.

Then I got an idea because of the farm and /say “Please help me I’m on fire.” She looked around a bit and got a bucket of water and then poured it in my direction. I popped out of the elemental and into normal appearance. I thanked her and then sent her a silver and a 5 slot bag in the mail with a nice message telling her how she had saved my life.

I’ve opened around 800 and not purchased any because they drop from mobs so often. I’ve not seen a pattern at all. I have not gotten a ticket but over 20 Holo Knights but in no particular order. I think I got like 3 knights in the first few hours since the event started but I was farming mobs like crazy, their occurrence still seems random and not specific to any area or mob.

After opening over 800 Dragon Coffers I was teleported to this place.

While that is a nice thought I think the price would have to be much more. I think trading the Zhaitaffy for the 100 Jorbreakers to get the holo wings ended up being 100,000 Zhaitaffy. So for a ticket it would probably be 1,000,000.

2,000 Zhaitaffy really isn’t that much and pretty easy to obtain.

The only time I saw it was when I transfered to a new server. It kind of freaked me out because on my first login the camera was so all over the place there would have been no way to play. Restarting the client fix it thank goodness. At first I worried I’d transfered to some alternate universe where my character was experiencing a permanent acid trip.

I would like to offer you a bit of off topic advice so that you can continue to play, learn and take part in this helpful community on the forums Generally the forum moderators tend to frown on trying to get around the language filters by changing the spelling of certain words. You may find this information helpful for two reasons. It may help you avoid infractions or forum suspensions. It may also help you avoid issues in game as using the same way to express yourself in chat might also result in a suspension. Just giving you a heads up.

I knew that for at least the next few days I would probably be occupying my free time buy playing the game. I did some house cleaning, called a few people I had not talked to in a while, did some exercises, and cooked a nice meal because I figured I’d be eating microwave dinners for the next few nights.

The medium I don’t like is the helmet. Keep in mind I’ve mostly found stuff from TP and some cultural armor, but most options are a mask, looks more like something a dentist wears to me. This seems appropriate for a thief but doesn’t make a lot of sense for an engineer or a ranger. The hat with the feather is good for ranger and I saw some goggles for engineer but I think that is a starter choice for them. Then I was looking at Sylvari cultural armors and they looked like small ear muffs you could barely see. The other option I found just looked like someone had been abducted and had duct tape over their eyes. o_O
