The new skins are not RNG. I bought these items. I don’t think it is crap, I’m not lazy, I just like the way they look, I don’t have ADHD. So you are wrong.

The new armor skins can be transmuted onto any pieces of armor that match the set you purchase. For example medium set will only transmute onto medium armor pieces. To do so you double click the skin piece and it will open a transmute window with the skin showing in it. Then drag the armor piece into the window and select transmute.

As long as the armor piece you used is not soul bound it should stay account bound. If you transmute it onto a soul bound piece you will need to transmute the skin onto a white piece to make it account bound again if you want to use it on a different character. Then you will need to transmute that piece onto the armor you want the skin to be on.

If it is just account bound you do not need to transmute it onto a white item first in order to transmute it onto a new piece.

Do not throw your wings in the mystic forge.

tl:dr

To transmute you click the new skin piece and drop the armor you want the skin to be on into the window.
If you are transmuting a soul bound you will need to place it on a white item first.
Don’t throw your wings into the mystic forge.

There are many good guilds out there with active members that do all aspects of the game. From my experience the guilds that are spamming /map every 5 minutes with something like this usually do not fit in that category:

There are some great guilds that do advertise from time to time (not every 5 minutes) worth looking into. Also ask around when you see people with the same guild tags in some open world activity.

Edit: Oh and I forgot to add you can be in more than one guild at a time. You just decide which one you want to represent at any given time. This allows to sample more guilds without leaving the one you are in.

I’m sorry but I have a hard time thinking that buying RNG crates for wings is a good idea especially considering their value on the TP isn’t mind blowing. Either way when you buy RNG crates your really have no reason to be angry about what comes out because you know the risk going into it.

It’s not really better than candy and cakes because at least I can sell that. You’re assigning a positive value to tickets where I have assigned no value. I have zero interest in a ticket. Zero. Nothing. If they cost 1 gem, I would not buy them. I’d be kittened because, while I know these things are valuable (to people who are not me) and said people would be more than happy to pay quite a bit of gold for one, I wouldn’t be able to. I wouldn’t even be able to give it to a friend.

I already know the maths are against buying chests to try to get dragon wings. I wouldn’t try to do it, either, but that’s not the point. I like that I have the option to sell something that is of zero value to me, to someone else who does attach value to it.

Still its RNG. If you get something you don’t want you can’t complain, tradable or not because you know that item may be in there. Fireworks are soul bound so are you upset when get those from an RNG crate?

Mesmers and rangers are super kitten ed off right now. Who knows if they’re going to go through with it, but people are talking about leaving Guild Wars 2 over this.

People talk about leaving GW2 with every patch/update. They could change the color of a tree in the middle of nowhere on some map and people would start talking about leaving GW2.

Funny story. My brother and sister-in-law just had their first baby 2 months ago. One of the gifts I gave them was matching Trogdor t-shirts with a baby sized one as well. They thought it was hilarious and will send me a family photo when the baby is big enough to wear it. I have a T-shirt too.

I haven’t looked but I’m guessing this event either has a very short time frame to complete or it is just like the DB holos and everyone is trying to rush through it as soon as possible for some reason.

They put armor skin in this update. Maybe weapon skins will come later. The good news is that the armor skins are not RNG so you can get them without grind/farming.

I do believe that video game/Internet addiction is referenced in the new DSM-5 (2013) as a condition for further study. I’m sure this doesn’t apply to most here but it is being considered as an actual diagnosable disorder.

Unless you are a programer for Anet you can’t confirm that. Sure it is most likely possible but you don’t know how difficult it would be to do from a programing stand point. Toss in that they just added a new update and I’m sure their resources are more involved in that. It isn’t the fact that code doesn’t disappear it is the issue of inserting it back into the game, changing it to reactivate the event and hand out hats to those that didn’t get them. The later is probably and issue on its own as they would have to make sure there were no bugs that would give them to people twice. I’m sure there is much much more to it than point and click.

It doesn’t seem that many want to actually watch the fireworks they just want the hats. If they started mailing them to people that missed the event there would be a whole other thread but with people complaining that they went out of their way to make the event and now Anet is just handing out hats to everyone else. Even if they restarted the event it would still be unfair to the people that went out of their way to watch the original event.

Given Anet’s lack of response to this and other threads on the topic I am guessing it isn’t going to happen. Sorry for your misfortune and yes they could have planned the event out better.

Yes it is the medium set aside from the pants are from the last gem store set. I hope you Charr Engie likes them. Now if only they let me buy some clothes for my poor ranger pets that got patch sickness.

I was really glad to see these new armor skins available for direct buy. I don’t have many other options aside from what is available in the TP due to my limited play so I’m glad I could get something else for a change. Here is a picture with my medium armor on aside from the pants. The medium pants don’t really seem to have much of a design so I am using the pants from the other set that sold before. I know some don’t care for the steampunk look but I like it.

I know there are already galleries but wanted to add a picture since the update went live. I hope they continue to add more direct buy/trade gold for gems to buy skins in the future.

My guess is the “quitters” will be back. I hope they didn’t delete their characters already. Scratch that. If they did I hope they took the time to mail me their gold.

On another note my highest level character is a ranger I use for PvE. I’ll just have to work to adapt my play style to fit in with the changes. I don’t mind new challenges.

I still really like it and am looking forward to using it. I just wanted to bring this back up so it doesn’t get buried by all the nerf/patch complaint threads since it is something good.

From the name it just looks like some kind of food. That stuff is usually L80 food, like the ones that dropped aside from the candy. Although I can make stuff having cooking at 400, with no level 80 I can’t eat it. I guess it takes a lot of experience to eat a cake.

Oh well I’ll just save it for later with all the other food I made.

It works for the most part for me. There are some minor bugs specific to the Mac client but they don’t irritate me as much as they used to now that I have acclimated to it. I keep pretty good FPS on medium settings with a few set to high. I usually stay between 35-45 in normal areas, sometimes higher. I do dial it down a little if I’m getting ready to do an event with massive people like SB.

I have heard that it runs much better under bootcamp. However I prefer not to put Windows on my shiny iMac. I can do everything I need to without it. So I’m just going to have to be satisfied with what I have now.

I have to say I love the controls on the Mac version. I can actually play better with the Magic Trackpad than the mouse (say that on a PC!).

However, the Mac versions, being a port using Cedega Transgaming, it’s basically running Wine. It will always run awfully slower. On Windows (bootcamping) I get twice the FPS with over double settings (medium-high). The Mac version is just sluggish, it freezes whenever I rotate the camera, and there is virtually no other setting I can lower to make it work.

The port is clearly not working for us. It’s GW2 for Windows, wrapped up to run on Mac.

Companies like Maxis are now making native versions of their games for the Mac, like their latest game SimCity. Now, GW2 as an MMO has many years to go. Will we ever see a native Guild Wars 2 Mac version?

I sure hope so but I’m not keeping my fingers crossed. I don’t think anyone here can answer that question aside from Anet but they don’t like to provide us with any information related to the Mac client. So I don’t think we will know any time soon if ever.

Make sure that there are no more than 9 mails in the account you are referencing. The limit is 10 and you won’t get new mails until you clean some old ones out.

That is very cool. I know many people and guilds have wanted this for a long time. Great for more sales and nice for birthday gifts, guild anniversaries and so forth.

I’m sorry but the “It’s not fair because I really really want it” claims are getting a bit old. Here is the circular pattern I always see with these items:

1. “These items should not be RNG drops they should be in the gem store so I can buy them direct.”
2. “These items should not be in the cash shop, they should be obtainable in game. I don’t want to pay for them.”

Back to 1. Wash and repeat.

No I have not gotten a ticket. I would have liked one for my longbow but if I don’t get it I will somehow manage to live with that. Extremely rare items are not meant for everyone to have. Hopefully some of you get one before the event ends.

Most of the time, throwing in random items will get you random items. There are some recipes out there for high end items, like mystic weapons.

But if you throw in four of the same type of items, like four spears, you’ll always get a spear back.

You also have a small chance (roughly 20%) of getting back an item of a higher level than the objects you put in. For example, putting in four green short bows, can get you a yellow short bow. Throwing in four yellow short bows will most likely get you a yellow short bow, but might also get you an exotic one, including, VERY rarely, a precusor.

Throwing in four exotic showbows will give you a better chance of getting the precusor.

The OP was very lucky.

Thanks for taking the time to explain that to me. I will admit I have not tested it that often. Most of the time I’ve only done it when it was part of the daily and I had a few blues I couldn’t sell above vendor value. I just picked random ones from my inventory. The result was getting back something about the same value as one of the items I tossed in. Granted it was usually something like blue staff, blue shield, blue focus, blue trident. I think I will save greens and yellows for some time when my wealth has increased.

This is a trend I have noticed:

“I hate RNG. Put it in the gem store so I can just buy it.”
“It’s in the freaking gem store. They should be rare drops in game.”

I agree on one issue since some say they want certain items made available to award player skill. Put some items (not tradable, one time drop) locked behind some ridiculously hard task/dungeon or what ever (not something that can be face rolled in 20 minutes). This would make use of player skill to acquire. Of course then some would complain that it is too hard to get. The other problem with this is many players would get left behind if it was a group event. The more people that have acquired the desired item the less players available for partys because the people that already ahd them would not want to do it again. There is never going to be a win/win I’m afraid.

Pick one I guess:

1. OP was bored and made up a story to see what happened, get attention.
2. OP put it some place else.
3. OP /rage quit and deleted it and now has remorse and wants it back.
4. OP just wants a freebie and was hoping staff would read it and send him one because of some made up story.
5. OP was trying to suggest some changes as to ways to store such items and decided to flavor it with a tall tale.
