A perma ban is not appropriate for someone who is doing no damage to the game itself.
It would of been fairer to have been permanently muted since I was still psychically playing the game like anyone else, and no I would never cheat or bot…I specifically when out of my way to report them when I use to play runescape, that sort of thing really bothers me.

It doesn’t matter if you think it is unfair. Those are the rules you agreed to play by. If you got a suspension for violating the rules that should have been more than enough warning that what you were doing was not acceptable. If you disagreed with that tough luck. If you continued such behavior after a suspension again tough luck because you were warned.

If you feel you wasted 5 years of your life over a game then I don’t necessarily see being banned as a bad thing. Now you have so much more of your life to experience than toiling over a video game.

I’d rather see them fix the search function. It is borderline useless at the moment. I’m not concerned about having a little picture by my name. I don’t care if someone has 3,000,000 posts.

I agree. It is nice to see someone dedicated to helping customers beyond support tickets and to clarify issues related to support tickets when customers ask for more information.
Aside from one issue I won’t get into and isn’t related to this particular sub-forum, the level of response from staff is extremely good when compared to other games I have played.

I don’t see why they couldn’t add an off topic forum. WoW, lotro, dcuo, rift and what seems to be every single other mmo’s official forum that I checked has a way to discuss things that are not game related.
These are the official forums of these games too.

My guess is that it gives them a lot less to deal with by not having it. Many off topic forums I have seen get nasty real quick with flame wars over politics, religion, and just about any topic. I don’t know how many staff members Anet has dedicated to enforcing forum rules but from what I have already seen in the current forums I imagine they would need a few more.

Since the mobs that have loot sparkle when they are dead maybe the magic behind their demise draws goods buried long ago from the ground near their bodies.

I don’t see why they don’t just leave them on there either unless it is to encourage people to use RWM instead of waiting to trade gold for gems. I got the pick axe at the end of the sale. The character I put it on has been on the shelf because at the time I was new and wasn’t sure which character I would use much. I’m still not I like the pick axe and would have them on all my alts if I had the opportunity. The sickle is okay, but I decided it I didn’t want it enough for all alts. Plus I have a horrible time seeing the plant nodes on the mini map because I’m color blind so I do very little plant harvesting unless the plant is right in my face.

Yes the lazer falcons are a known bug. I see them in PvE from time to time as well. I even saw it once in PvE on a ranger that had a bird for a pet.

I open mine in front of the entrance of the ghost pirate jump puzzle in LA. It gives me a reason to make the jump in and try to miss the water on purpose. Who am I kidding? I miss it all the time without trying. Somehow I even managed to mess up the last fall at the end and died too. I didn’t even think that was possible.

There was a tiny one in Queensdale. I thought it was a ranger spirit and was ignoring it till it got aggro in the middle of a fight with a bunch of centaurs, wrapped me up in roots and nearly got me killed.

Yeah I was running past and saw that one. I thought I’d make the usual quick kill out of it but it seemed a bit tougher than usual. Maybe just me and not enough coffee though.

I’m guessing they will have similar items in the future. I hope the next one will be the logging axe. I don’t like that they are soulbound on use but I suppose it encourages more sales.

You might try cleaning out your cache in your browser. It could just be an issue with their server at the moment. I just checked and it loaded a bit slow but completed.

The Devs already answered this questions many times. And since it seems you’ve already searched for this, I don’t understand why you feel you need to ask again.

Gem payment for transfers is the fee to move character data between servers. By deleting all your characters, you can make a transfer for free (once every 7 days).

In all fairness to the OP the search function on this forum is borderline useless. Perhaps the OP heard it from someone in game and just wanted staff to verify it before doing so.

From my experience the armor skins usually vary a lot between gender and race. I imagine it just has to do with how the artists and devs created it. I think the idea is they should look a bit different between gender due to differences in gender as a whole.

The human male heavy helmet is not so appealing and I don’t use it. The rest I like.

I think if you purchase the coffers after they made the patch you will not get one in the mail. I think what happened is they were suppose to be an RNG drop from the coffers but there was some flaw that made them impossible to drop. So if you buy a coffer now you are not guaranteed to get one.

Patch Notes 6/25/13

Fixed a bug with Rich Dragon Coffers where recipes were not included in the drop table. There is now a rare chance to receive the Dragon’s Revelry Starcake recipe. Dragon’s Revelry Starcakes give a 30 minute buff to all armor stats, Magic Find, and experience from kills.

All players that purchased a Rich Dragon Coffer before the fix above was added will receive 1 Dragon’s Revelry Starcake recipe via in game mail as compensation. This compensation is scheduled to be delivered in a few days.

I just checked and I got mine in the mail sometime in the last few hours. I think I bought 3 or 4 with some spare change before the patch occurred.

I can’t answer that for you since unfortunately they don’t disclose the odds. I’m guessing not since they were suppose to be in there in the first place.

I don’t think many Mac only people that are new to GW2 would be complaining because they would just move on when they saw the client wasn’t available. Plus according to you we are such a tiny, minuscule part of their customer base it shouldn’t matter. Here let me explain how I ended up playing GW2 and I’m willing to bet I’m not alone in this.

Thanks to many years of hard work I now have a lot more free time. I decided to see hat was going on with the new MMOs. So I started looking at reviews. I saw GW2 was getting good reviews so I googled GW2 for Mac. I got the page I referenced and thought cool, I’ll give it a shot.

If Anet had not advertised, promoted and sold a Mac client I would have just moved on. I wouldn’t be upset at all. Most Mac customers are used to games that don’t have a Mac client. However, Anet making one by no means makes the customer lucky, it makes them just that a customer.

I really don’t understand why you seem to think we are all so blessed and lucky. In your example you were using a less than desirable method to play GW2. They created the beta client. You were already a customer, so in your case you probably thought it was great. Maybe you are so into the Anet products that you did feel lucky. I doubt that applies to everyone.

You keep dancing around the issue most of us are unhappy about. The issue that there is almost no news from Anet about the client. The fact that the only time, at least since I have been here, that we got acknowledgment they were working on a problem was the very problem that wouldn’t allow Mac customers to spend more money. You like to point out what a small portion of paying customers we are but if you don’t see that as a bit odd then I don’t know what to tell you.

You like to point out how lucky we are that it work for the most part and how lucky we should feel it exists. I don’t feel lucky, I feel like a customer who purchased a product. Most of us are not complaining about the bugs themselves, well maybe the first time we posted here about a bug. Most of us are simply unhappy that they advertise a product, create and advertise a support forum and then ignore us all together. I can say honestly if a staff member posted a thread that said, “Kitten you! We have your money now and we are not doing kitten.” I’d stop posting my displeasure because at least then they answered my question.

It isn’t about how good or bad the product works. It is about being ignored and left in the dark which is just bad, rude, and insulting. Instead of taking a few minutes to say something it seems really shady that they won’t say anything at all. Something is wrong there and it probably makes many here wonder what they are trying to hide.

FF you seem to be looking at it from the point of view of an existing customer that had to use a more clunky method until the Beta came out. I don’t think you are looking at it from the point of view of customers that bought the game only because Anet advertised and talked about how excited they were about the product. How they like to mention how their employees love Macs and how their president is never caught without his MB. Then things like this:

Bringing Guild Wars 2 to the Mac is huge for us, because it introduces the game to an entire group of players who are often ignored by game developers.

And this where they imply they are working on a final product:

Review the beta hardware specification, and understand that your overall experience will be better when we release the final version.

I don’t think most people are demanding things get fixed. I think most, like myself, just want them to say something, anything aside from we fixed things so you can spend money again.

I’m glad I bought it and can play it. I’m glad it works for the most part. I don’t feel lucky though because I didn’t get it from a Dragon Coffer. :P

So yes if they are going to simply ignore customers all together aside from making sure they can buy gems they should not have sold the product. Maybe they should have only made it available to existing GW2 customers so they could break free of methods like you discussed or so existing Windows users that owned MBs as well could play on both.

In my opinion they probably should not have created and advertised a Mac client to start with. Since we are such a tiny customer base that they don’t have the resources to support they should have just not produced the product. This would have resulted in 0 frustrated Mac customers that are waiting for at least some information aside from a generic, “No news at this time.”

Even if they came here and said something like, “Sorry no work on the Mac client is being conducted due to such as small customer base. We have no plans to provide support at this time”, some of us would be happy with that just knowing.

Obviously they saw something in such a small customer base or they would not have developed the client in the first place. And yes, I still find it humorous how fast they recognized, communicated and solved the gem store bug for such a small, insignificant customer base that contributes next to nothing to their profits.

I don’t mind completing the quests and enjoy the dynamic events in the zones.. but I absolutely hate having to chase down POI’s and Vistas AGAIN. I leveled a Mesmer first getting 100% completion. I then leveled a Ranger almost purely via crafting. So now he’s 80 and anytime I want to use him to run with the guild, I often can’t because he’s simply too far away to participate. This is extremely frustrating.

I like doing the vistas again. My memory is terrible so they are like mini jumping puzzles for me. I see your point about not being able to join your friends when they are in far off places. I think it would be okay if once 100% world map completion is done it unlocked all the waypoints for alts. The waypoints are pretty easy to get in most cases anyway. That way you could join your friends in far away lands and you can just ignore the POIs and vistas. Although, there should be no reward for map completion until they have all the map finished completely.

On a side note, I have noticed most points of interest are not very interesting. Hey, thanks for showing me that dirt mound in the middle of no where. They should just call them markers.

I noticed this thread was in the main forum and they moved it here…. without even a word. They probably just saw “Mac” in the title and moved it. I’m giving up asking for even a message saying they know Mac customers even exist. I doubt anything is going to come from it from my experience here.

That said, I don’t go for the all black/white dye look, but sometimes those colors really help bring out what you want to communicate with a dye setup. Ultimately, I just use what I think is ideal for the character I’m on and for that armor set.

I messed around with some brighter colors on some male heavy armor and it looked like some kind of transformer lol. Then again I’m color blind so even though the dyes have names it doesn’t mean much to me aside from the more bright colors. I try to avoid all black or all white or a mix between the two. I usually add some more subtle color to the mix. I like Sylvari cultural armors because the colors kind of blend together instead of having distinct lines between them.

Nope, this happens to most, especially in LA. This is a common issue for the tp. However… I do have something you can try so you don’t lose your place in the queue, however, this will most likely instigate a gamma bug. So just keep your options panel open and move the gamma slider slightly and put it back to your preferred value.

1. Open your trading post (leave this open until finished)
2. Open your options panel
3. Change the language to French
4. Wait for the trading post to reload in French
5. Change the language back to English (anglais)
6. Test trading post

Please post back if that helped or not next time it happens to you.

There is almost always a lot of talk about armor, armor skins, weapon skins and so forth. Luckily there are many options in this game to customize your look. It’s one of the things I like and as a casual player, thanks to transmutation stones, I can do things like buy armor or weapons with stats I don’t like but keep the look.

One thing I have noticed though, is that I very rarely stop to look at others. In crowded areas I almost never pause to look around unless I’m RP. During events, world bosses, WvW everything is flying around so fast, mix in weapon/aoe effects and I can’t see anything anyway. Weapons, aside from greatswords and longbows I almost never notice.

So for me I change the appearance of my characters because I want something I like to look at. I suppose this is because if I’m going to be looking at my character for a few hours at a time I want it to look appealing. I think most players get the best look at me due to them having a few moments to look at my gear while they are rezing me.

So anyway do you, as a player, often stop to look at other’s gear? If so in what situations?

On a side note, what’s the deal with everyone using black, grey or white dye all the time?

I have yet to do a dungeon but I’m glad to see this. I’ve seen a lot of people asking for more challenging and new content. From your post it seems they have done both.

Well to be fair testing one coffer to evaluate the rate drop is probably not going to provide very accurate results. However, your conclusion turned out to be correct.

There are many things about this game that bother me. I do enjoy some of the fine details and little things integrated into the game. I see something small everyday and stop to think what creativity and collaboration must of gone into the small details.

I have not done the jumping puzzles yet but like you I try not to use guides. I also like to find stuff out on my own. This usually results in massive amounts of gold spent on armor repairs It makes it more fun for me though.

This! I don’t understand it either. I see more people that got the achievement wanting the event repeat than not at least. I am surprised that the same 5-10 people are going through these posts and are so against it. Why can’t we enjoy this part of the game too?

I’ve said many times that I wish they could do it. I just feel a need to give my opinion when people argue they should just do it, “it wouldn’t be that hard.” No one but the programers at Anet know that. We don’t know how the show was implemented and if it was programed to self remove after the end date, or with the new update if it is possible without a bit more work than just clicking a few buttons. Also with the new update I imagine their efforts are involved with that so they can provide more events for people to enjoy.

I don’t think I have seen anyone say, “They shouldn’t do it.” There are posts explaining why it may not be possible or how others that did the achievement might respond. I think, for the most part, those discussing those reasons have said many time that they wished there was a solution.

I have seen very few, if any, people say they saw the fireworks and really hope they will add them again just so they can see them again. Once again I’m sorry you missed the event and didn’t get the hat. Yes they should have made the event longer. No it probably isn’t as easy to integrate back into the game as you think. This may be one reason you have not gotten a response. If they do find a way to do it I think that would be great.

If you want to see a real lack of response and lack of respect for customers spend a few minutes reading the Mac support forum.

I just picked up the heavy today. I took my Guardian off the shelf as an excuse.

I agree I don’t care much for the heavy helmet. I think the female version is a bit better. IMO the male version looks too much like some kind of bucket with goggles. I like the eye part but the helmet itself just doesn’t seem to fit in with the rest of the set.

Not much color in this pic because my poor Guardian has been neglected for a while and all my good dyes went to my others. I don’t even know if they match, color blind lol. I’m guessing my first pic with the medium must have because no one said anything.

Try changing the language to French to see if it will complete the download. Then change it back to English. I know it sounds odd and a weird fix but I know it has worked for several people including Mac users.

Also some people say just to let it run until it finally completes. I’d try the language fix first.

I don’t want them at all. No matter how they would make them available people would still be running around with their heads exploding because they really really want them but don’t want to do x, y, or z to get them.

I bought my friend a rare back item off the TP (to put his Dragon Wings skin on) for 3 silver. There was a Masterwork one for 1 silver and change. It’s not that expensive to get something to transmute back items onto. =)

Yes this too as well as spineguards. I opted for cosmetic only because I didn’t want to put them on anything with stats. I wanted them account bound no level requirements to wear so all my low level alts can get a chance to try them on as well.

Edit: I put the shattered wings on a piece with stats for my main. The holo ones I put on a no stat strap from a kit so everyone on my team can share.
