I’ve already found a good RP use for mine. Leading a charge into battle with my kite. Then dying first just like the drummer boys.
Thanks for the nice surprise Anet. I was in the middle of a race and wondering why I got a mail. I forgot to check it when I was done. I saw someone later with a kite and I knew I had to get one. I started searching the Gem store and the TP. I was getting frustrated then I checked my mail. Thank you!
Awesome I lov it. I wondered what that mail was I got in the middle of a race. I saw someone with one later and didn’t check my mail. I started searching the gem store and the TP for them until I saw the OP. I love when they give things like this. They look awesome even though mine is purple I think. I’m color blind but I’m pretty sure it is.
1 – crafting recipes should NEVER require a lv 80 character it should only require lv400 on the specific profession
2 – quartz charging should be at least 1 per lv80 character per day
3 – after the sanctum is gone the home quartz node should drop more quartz
4 – every level 80 character should be able to mine the dam home node once per dayIt’s all kitten account bound so there’s no damage to the kitten economy STOP punishing people with multiple characters already !!!
I don’t really know how that punishes people with more characters. Doing the oposite would punish people with less characters. Also why do you suggest all the other stuff aside from the recipe should only be only doable by L80?
Let me know when they finally make the ranger a master of anything other then cannon fodder. Until then I am done.
News flash! They are no longer cannon fodder. Welcome back!

Vote for Kale!!!
I don’t care for the 1 a day limit myself (aside for the event achievement). I don’t really see it as something to encourage people to log in and actually play. Log in and take 1 minute to go to Shaemoor Garrison and make your charge if that is all you really want. It doesn’t exactly encourage game play. I would like it a bit better if they dialed up the drop rates from the home node.
I think if they allowed 2 or so a day from different places of power that would be a bit better. I agree that there shouldn’t be unlimited per day but 1 is a little low in my opinion once the event is over.
The one that bugs me is that my crafting alts have to be L80 to learn the recipes even though they are all L400 crafters.
OP, if you find yourself a little short on coin again before the recent meta is over run a few Sanctum Sprints. You get 10 silver a pop as long as you finish, some loot, some crystals, a little karma, and a small chance for a backpiece drop. So it is a win/win even if you don’t win.
I just started a Mesmer and he is a racing fiend right now.
More trench coats, ski masks, and Uggs for all!
Man how times have changed. I brought a desktop to college and grad school and it served my purposes just fine.
Are you planning on a major where a laptop is required in the classroom?
Or a major where GW2 is required in the class room.
Like Tengu said, you should evaluate what you need it for outside of playing the game. A laptop for school should meet the needs of your school work first and gaming second. Personally I love MacBooks. I use mine for mostly work but do play some GW2 on it. GW2 runs well on it and the graphics are pretty good on the new MacBooks.
In line with the MacBook option check out the Mac support forum here and you will see many posts related to Macbook performance and bugs with the Beta client. Also, staff almost never acknowledges the Mac Tech Support Forum. The only time since I have been playing that I have seen them respond to a bug and actually fix it was a bug that would not let Mac customers buy gems. They fixed it in a few days and then disappeared from the support forum. Go figure.
Also with Mac you can still run GW2 using Bootcamp and installing it under Windows. Some users have reported much better performance by doing so.
tl;dr
Macbooks in my opinion are great for school/work depending on what you need them for. The 2012s run GW2 fairly well even at decent graphics settings. Anet seems to no longer support the Mac Beta Client and has not provided any news on the status of it aside from fixing a gem purchase bug. You can still run it under Bootcamp for better performance.
Also consider saving some money by not getting the SSD Macbook. Unless you are really worried about a bit less load time you can get one with a standard drive with much more storage space for less money. You can get a standard drive MBP with much more storage for about the same price as the Air you mentioned with the SSD.

I’ve got two opinions on the matter.
On one hand, forum people not qualified to treat people with OCD, they should find help from the proper channels.
What makes you think people that like to get all the achievements meet the diagnostic criteria for OCD? Achievements and accomplishments are synonymous. For many doing all the achievements gives someone a sense of accomplishment by completing them through game play. Believe it or not, not everyone just does the achievements for a shiny. Sorry it is kind of a pet pieve of mine when people label others based on misconceptions of mental illness.
Back to topic, people that want 100% achievement from an event should understand that not all of them can be accomplished inside their comfort zone. For example the jump puzzle for the kite in WvW. I feel these achievements are meant to provide a challenge for most aspects of the game and to accomplish them all a player needs to realize that. I know I had to go a long way outside of my comfort zone just to get the 16 achievements for the event. Eventually I did it and actually had fun conquering the challenge and having a sense of accomplishment. Now I’m working for more of the event achievements off and on as a change from my normal style of play.
I’m not sure about it but it does seem that it may have been planned. I have never used it and have several first place finishes, some by several seconds. I don’t even try for first anymore because I figure there are still a lot of people out there still trying to get the achievement. While I don’t just let them win I don’t go out of my way to try to win to give them a better chance.
No………….
Take your excess badges and buy siege with them. Take your newly acquired siege and sell it on the trading post. Go to the trading post to collect your gold and buy whatever you want.
Some of those blueprints came from the AP boxes. I took them, went straight the to TP and sold them. Easy money so I was happy.
Im the charr in the backround ^^
Why did you edit your post?
because he wrote it in german first
now you can understand it too ^^
I understood it the first time. However I thought he might have been trying to say he was “The Charr’s Behind” lol. I’m way, way, way rusty.
Im the charr in the backround ^^
Why did you edit your post?
Bahahaha. Apfelsaft.
Apfelsaftschorle. Man I miss that stuff. One great hangover cure after too much bier and Feigling. That was a long time ago though.
I’m up to 45 races now. No skin. Bad luck, I guess.
That many races you should have enough coin to buy one off the TP now.
You are worried about hands? Where the heck is your chest hair? Don’t tell me you wax or shave.
That’s pretty cool. I love things like this in games. Small details someone took the time to program in that are fun for players to find.
Did you ‘deposit all collectables’ ? If so they go into your bank with your other mats.
IDK =/ I did wonder this and I regret what I said so you may be right, and also there is nothing there about first offences but it has been repeated by mods / devs repeatedly over the forums. As I said, I agree I was out of line but 2 weeks still seems excessive, not even heard of someone getting a 2 week suspension before it happened to me.
I follow this forum a bit and I think I have seen people get a longer 1st time suspension based on what they did.
Either way, Gaile usually does updates here weekdays and will often elaborate on why a suspension was what it was without quoting the actual offense of course. So I’m sure you will find out then.
About 40 races, 2 suns and a wind. Toss in you get 10s a race plus some items you can sell and either you will get one as a drop or earn enough to buy one from the TP. The race is a win/win and it’s fun.
Or do you need to win the race, cause I’ve only won 3?
No you do not need to win. All of mine have come from finishing 4th or worse.
I may be wrong but I think in some cases where the violation may have been excessive they can deal out longer suspensions. According to this page there is no statement as to the length of first offense:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-conduct-breaches-outcomes/
So I am guessing that maybe you went way over the top with whatever you said.
They are extremely annoying if you are in 2nd or 3rd place and trying to catch up, certainly. However, you can still avoid them by using Assisted Leap or Lightning Pull to jump over them, using Grounded, or just by taking a different route (although this will usually slow you down).
Yeah it is a bit lopsided. If a person gets out in front by several seconds they can spam them all day. Like you said the best hope is to jump, dodge, or ground. The AOE on them is a bit large though. Try to well time a sprint to catch up with the person in first and one will almost always slap you in the face.
I won’t lie, I used them like crazy when I was shooting for first place achievement. Now I almost never use them incase someone behind me is still shooting for the title. Heck I spent a few races exploring and swimming in the lake looking for stuff. The payoff for where you place in the race isn’t enough for me to try that hard unless someone is trash talking then they get Fake PU’ed every time I get one.
I’ve parked my alt with the molten pick in its instance. No charged quartz so far but I’m only on day 3.
I really hope there will be some other way to convert all the quartz into charged aside from going to the skill point outside Shaemoor Garrison once a day to get one.
They have been dropping at a fair rate from race chests. I’ve done about 40 races and have 3 sun, and a lightning. The good thing about racing for them is that it’s pretty fun, you get 10s guaranteed a race, a little karma plus other loot drops with a small chance to get the back piece.
So really racing for them is a decent way in my opinion. If you don’t get a drop after a while you will probably make enough coin to buy one. My new alt has more money now than my highest level character LOL.
Since it is a temp event and I am in no hurry now that I have the race achievements I don’t mind farming it a bit. I find the race more fun when I can sit back, eat nachos and race instead of losing my wig if I get hit by lightning just when I was about to finish first.
Those past the 10K mark will receive RL mail consisting of hiking boots, a backpack, and a tent.
I don’t care either way because a Legendary is not in my gaming plan. However, I bet if they did make some new ones and some people perceived them as cooler than the one they already have, they would be running in here with their heads exploding.
Nope, the Zephyrites are going to run out of food at some point, since they’re flying around and all. Before they manage to land somewhere else, they will be forced to eat your character. Sorry for your loss.
That’s okay. I’ll just make sure to take him to my bank before he gets left behind. He’s a big fat Norn so at least they will be well fed.
Is that what happened to me today? I was playing my Charr (first one) and two people kept running right up infront of me every place I went for several minutes. I doubt that is why but it would at least explain why they were doing it aside from trying to get on my nerves.
I guess I’m lucky. I’ve probably done 30 or so races and have never noticed this and i’m on a clunky wifi. Maybe it has to do with my graphics settings or something.
What this again? Did you not get your answer from the last post you made about this?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Why-is-there-no-bloodFX/first
If you want blood effects so bad go play a game that has gore to your liking. Fallout 3/new vegas, splatterhouse, Gears of war. Pick one and go blood crazy.
Wow this guy must really want some blood to make two threads about it in a week.
@OP, just take some red paint, put it on a paint brush and then flick it a few times at your monitor. Permanent blood, problem solved.
What happens if I leave my character on it and log out until the ship leaves? Maybe he will end up in some mysterious land. Scratch that he will probably try to find the bathroom hidden way up on the top of some sail and end up falling to his death.
9 and my highest level character is 67.
Update: 10 now. Level 3 Carr Mesmer
Hit the road Jack and don’t you come back no more, no more, no more, no more.

I can’t check in-game ATM, but on the wiki it doesn’t give a character level requirement to use the recipe, or even craft the gear, only to wear the gear.
I just logged in to double check. The insignias recipes appear to not have a character level requirement. The other recipes say consumable requires L80.
I’m not to thrilled about having to be L80 to learn and craft the new items. My crafting alts are pretty low level but maxed on crafting skills (400). I suppose I’ll have to get to work on those alts and level them up.
I’m not exactly sure what you mean because your link goes to a not found forum page. Here is a thread from accounts forum about altering zoom if that is what you mean with a response from staff:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Is-the-Zoomunlocker-Program-Safe-or-Not
Here is the only other one I could find:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Would-a-camera-zoom-mod-be-against-the-ToS
Don’t fret. Hit me up in game and I’ll walk you through it in no time.
9 and my highest level character is 67.
My friend has 8 characters, highest level is 31…. I told him to get to 80 before he makes anymore but he didn’t and he doesn’t play anymore lol.
I guess characters really mean something to some people because to me, if I have someone level 10 and I don’t play him anymore and I want to make a different character but no slots, I’ll just delete the level 10.
Oh mine all get played, some a bit more than others. It helps me keep from feeling like I am grinding away just trying to reach level cap on one character. My main is 67 the others are all in their 30s – 40s aside from my Necro in late teens. I have found switching up is just more fun for me. Each profession is a different play style and I enjoy that. I also like to run professions with odd weapon combos that a lot of people don’t use. I’ve nuked probably 10 or so characters because I didn’t like their name and wasn’t going to buy a name change for a low level character.
I guess you could say I’m a Swiss Army player, decent at all professions (solo PvE), defiantly master of none.
They must also be level 80.
Yeah that’s a bummer and I don’t really understand it since it is a crafting skill. I don’t have a L80 and my crafting alts are a long way from it. Of course by the time I make my 1 charged crystal a day I’ll probably be 80 by the time I have enough to make anything anyway. By 80 I mean 80 years old not L80.
“You will never, ever, ever, ever get first in Sanctum Sprint”
I can’t even use most of my utility skills because I’m old and slow. I usually just use the passive skills in those slots and never accept an invitation into a party because I don’t want to get chewed out.
If you want Gold —> Gem prices to drop, ask players to buy Gems with real money and convert it to Gold.
I’ve been doing my best to help out. Once I hit level 80 I’ll probably be burning it up.
Will we still be able to “charge up” quartz crystals AFTER the event??
I certainly hope so, otherwise having a node in the home instance would be kind of pointless.
I picked the greatsword skin and it gave me the hammer!
Gaaaaahhhhh!
You would have had to read right over the thread title for this thread:

To bump the one you just did.
