you think that stun break on 25sec CD which removes condition from you and all alies in range is bad? i must be living in another space then you…

difference is that all eles stun breaks are considered cantrips so if you boost cantrips, you take them all and cant take something else (i dont say that other utilities are as good as cantrips, maybe even poor or useless), warrior have 1 stunbreak in more categories, so he obviously cant get 3 stunbreaks with synergy like ele, but he can make synergy from something else, e.g. make a build which have more then just defensive utilities, thats what ele cant…

PS: ele 10k base hp, warr 18k base hp… just an information…

The fact that ele has so much synergy is what makes them OP, I can’t believe I have to actually state this to you since you seem to think it’s a negative. Let’s draw a parallel to warrior, whose 3x shout build can cleanse conditions and minor heal.

>No mobility
>No “get out of jail free” card
>No access whatsoever to protection/regen/vigor/invulnerability/stability/teleportation

PS: Everyone knows that eles have the lowest HP. Everyone who actually has Knowledge knows that this doesn’t matter at all. Next you’re going to try pointing out armour difference like that also mattered!

well, my fault, i combined two builds and did some mistakes, i was trying to make condi build at first and then changed it to power build and forgot to change some traits

anyway, half of what you say is irelevant or not true

condi cures as an example…
2x 16sec CD skills on warhorn removes condi
heal on 25sec CD removes 2 condi
utility on 25sec CD removes 1 condi (from alies too)
if you change shout heals to Shrug It Off you get another 20sec CD condi cure and makes boon

ele got…
water skill 40sec CD removes 1 condi
if 30 water trait and another 10 water trait then utilities 90/50/45 CD (-20% if another trait) removes 1/4/1
if 10 arcane trait then water swap 1 condi cure (with weird CD)

if i try to compare it, ele can remove +- 7 or 8 conditions in 40sec, warrior can remove +- 10 conditions in 50sec, seems comparable to me

Congrats, once again you have listed at me almost every way warrior has to remove conditions while ele has a large portion of condition cleansing built into it’s mechanics, and passively traited rather than actively with healing and utility skills. What are on your utility bars compared to your example warrior’s? fury+might, remove 1 condition + stunbreak, Take 0 damage from direct attacks for 5s…. vs complete Invulnerability for 3s, Teleportation, Stability+Protection for 6s. All of which stunbreak, all of which grant regeneration and vigor.

And what happened to your great sustain in your warrior build? You still had the half-hearted pathetic excuse for “sustain” when you were specced for healing shouts but now that you’re saying to change it into Shrug it Off where is that coming from? Grats, your weak healing from mending heals maybe 10% more every 25s with all that healing power you’ve got (a whole 284!)

That’s not high toughness, that’s middling toughness since you didn’t spec into the Defense tree at all.
I’m not seeing this “good sustain” nonsense, have you even played warrior before? Toughness and HP aren’t “sustain”. Your shouts are going to heal you for an approximate of 2.5k, that’s 5k healing every ~25s since you don’t have Lung Capacity, that’s absolutely terrible. And what’s left, Endure Pain? I’ll admit that’s the only thing warriors have remotely close to a get out of jail free card but it’s on a 90s cooldown, good luck having that protect you when you don’t even have Defy Pain as well.

“Many condi cures” I just, what. You have 3 SINGLE condition cleansers on ~25s cooldowns and your untraited heal, congrats, you can SORT OF (not really) feebly cancel out the condition damage of warriors and thieves. Good luck doing anything to a necro or engineer. In case you don’t play Ele as well one rotation into their water attunement completely outclasses your “Many condi cures” already.

To even draw a comparison to what a cantrip ele can do stunbreaking+cleansing wise with warrior…. wait you can’t. Both sides are almost mutually exclusive seeing as warrior’s stunbreaks are stances+1 shout while you need soldier runed 3x shouts to even try to compare with an Ele’s condition cleansing.

TL;DR you have no idea what you’re talking about yet still exhale nonsense out of your load gaper.

First off OP no just No! We are one of the most mobile classes there is just use sword and GS and you’ll out run everyone even an ele. As far as surviving fights outside pure condition speced anything we are ok.

As far as 100B goes if you are trying to land it on a player don’t worry about getting every hit. Use leg specialist and land what you can and move on. Its about pressure not big numbers only. Fact is most experienced players wont get caught in 100 blades but few can avoid it entirely. Use your sword as a gap close and use your burst to immobilize and you keep dong this. The point is that even eating 1/3 or 100B is still eating 1/3 of 100B.

What we need is better condition management and that about it. If you are having issues with physical defense it’s you or your build.

People pick asura because their model is tiny, and while all hitboxes are the same size, the fact that they are tiny makes their animations extremely hard to identify. It grants a kitten advantage in pvp that’s hard to make a case against because people will start crying about “wanting to play their character” and other nonsense like that.

It has always been referred to as “Boon Hate”. Not once did they mention anything remotely close to ripping boons off enemies. It’s just going to be something stupid and entirely useless/insignificant like +1% damage per boon on the enemy.

Sure, stat-wise the burst damage from the line is negligible, but Discipline also has some pretty cool and useful traits that are hard to pass on.

Please stop perpetrating this school of thought, it’s completely ridiculous that warrior has a functionally absolutely useless class-specific stat. It’s not like the other classes don’t get “pretty cool and useful traits that are hard to pass on” in their last traitline.

Every other class benefits immensely from their class-specific stat, why is warrior the only one whose stat does absolutely nothing ~7months into the game?
Not to mention how “Burst damage increase” doesn’t even do anything for 6/9 warrior burst skills since the only burst skills which point is to do damage are Kill Shot, Eviscerate, and Forceful Shot.
And before some PvE warrior says “b-but the crit damage increase in the trait line is already so good!” No. Let’s look at what the other classes get together with their 30% crit damage taking that they invested 30 points into their line:
Elementalists, Ranger and Thief: 300 Precision
Guardian: 300 Toughness
Necromancer: 30% Death Shroud HP
Engineer: -30% on Toolbelt Skill Recharge
Mesmer -30% on Shatter Recharge
and finally we have Warrior:
Warrior: +3% Burst Damage Increase.

y’r all doing it wrong…
use sword-axe for flurry(immobilize)+whirling axe. sword 2 is gap closer get some bull rush or something and greatsword no. 5 rush. You don’t even need a speedbuff.

Also the signet of rage gives decent swiftness for a long period of time. so you don’t need the passive speedbuff.

Only you can’t properly target them through the crap all over the field and their clones bodyblock whatever you’re trying to shoot at them

Necros can kitten bunker eles. Mostly. But with other classes, eles can survive in 3v1 sometimes, while mesmers die in 2v1, at least won’t be able to finish them off.

And once you learn how to find the real mesmer not the clone, it’s not that OP.

This is such a stupid thing to say. Anyone with half a brain can find the real mesmer, not to mention half the time the clones he’s kittenting out are running straight at you for a shatter.

Mesmers aren’t hard/unfun to fight because of IDENTIFICATION problems, they’re hard to fight because they throw a clustercat out into the field, can drop into stealth, and have a million (exaggeration wow) invulnerabilities.

The problem with mesmers is that they have way too many forgiving survivability/escape/invulnerability mechanics making running absolute pure glass shatter not even an issue. As opposed to say a Thief or Warr trying the same kind of nonsense and having to assess his Risk-Reward really hard.

its cool to have posts like this but thy are never going to take your suggestions… I’m not being negative I’m just being realistic. Unless we get a huge outcry from the warrior community to revamp the warrior on the pvp scene the warrior will only be a pve dungeon/wvw master.

*warriors in pve are good and don’t need that much change but in the competitive pvp scene thy are a unwanted class.

There is a huge outcry from the warrior (pvp) community. It’s entirely up to them what happens with warriors, but hopes aren’t high.

Now, I would assume condition damage ofc goes through this skill and certain agony would. Not a problem. So I have endure pain up, Immediately I go to 100b, and it puts out this Ice Shelf (V shaped) And the shelf not only KD’s me, but HURTS me. So i almost die…

Okay, thank you for posting in this thread to alleviate all the fears most warrior players have regarding the dev’s opinion on them and the future. However I do need to point out that:

If only every class had a pocket dev like ranger does.

We got him a week ago, and we would like to keep him. However if you think these changes were good for a ranger you are sadly misinformed. The largest winner of the patch notes were bunkers as a few burst and condi classes were hit hard. Robert Hrouda is a dungeon balance guy, of course he is going to post a bit in the ranger forums about the pets getting agony resistance.

Up until his post this… https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/ranger/Ranger-update/first was all we had. And you should note that one the things his listed 5 months ago, very little headway has been done other than giving offhand axe more damage untraited (but the same dmg while traited), and buffing maul on greatsword. Build diversity has only “increased” because they have been significantly reducing the effectiveness of few traits that are worth taking.

You have to be fair here, even false hope is better than the bottomless well of despair felt by the overwhelming majority of warriors who pvp.

For all of those skills it’s the difference between a “cast” and a “channel”. The effects of the skills you mentioned are already happening the moment you hit the key and thus they are put under full cooldown once the effect has been interrupted and resolved. This is as opposed to getting absolutely nothing out of any of the casted healing skills if they were interrupted during casting.

The point is more that they can evaluate how the class actually performs in PvP now (yes, we all know it performs terribly in PvP) at all times without it being distorted by once-a-minute bursts of insanity. Which quite frankly, were ridiculous. I’d happily trade losing that stupid combo in exchange for the majority of the weapons and utilities becoming viable.

I’m pretty sure they legitimately believe that “warriors are really close to becoming an unstoppable beast in pvp” (direct quoting SotG) because their balance guy apparently takes his cues from “People who whisper me things when I log in” instead of anything that remotely makes sense.

That’s why we’re never going to be viable in pvp

Also at the rate they’re going (about 2 changes to warr per patch) our other weapons will finally be viable by 2017

If you weren’t actively healing yourself (which is a cognitive choice you actually make, and thus can use it when you’re not under quickness) all you’re doing is stopping your regen for like 5s, and they made it a stunbreak too.

wrong, they took a bugfix int account while balancing things. that change to revealed would just make thieves complete trash.

Culling is not an intended part of the Stealth Mechanic. At all. This is obvious from s/tpvp where culling is at a minimum.
However the post by jon peters states that they considered fixing the exploit caused by culling to be equivalent to a Nerf. When it shouldn’t even be considered at all.

As we played with the stealth changed mentioned in the SotG, we recognized that in conjunction with the change to culling this was an unpredictable change to make. We also felt that it was too big of a hit to these stealth professions, so we ended up pulling that change in favor of just increasing revealed duration by 1 second.

So yeah they took a blatant bug/glitch/exploit (culling) into account while balancing things.

Violated PvE thief, no change to Wvw thief.

Well, its unfortunate they made such a major change without good compensation elsewhere at the same time but in general the type of dps that could be put out in a short time span is not a good game mechanic. That’s the best way to balance a game is too slowly remove/modify bad game mechanics. It doesn’t matter whether the class as a whole is op or underpowered stuff that is not optimal for balanced pvp combat that is fun needs to be removed/modified and if needed the class affected boosted elsewhwere. That’s how balance works. You just don’t say ability X is justified because over-all a class is weak or average. Believe it or not its no fun to get locked down and killed in a couple seconds.

Sorry but “Once per month” is not “Slowly”, it’s “Astronomically Glacial”
