There’s just no good option for it right now:

They remove the delay, and you end up not getting the overcharge when you activate it in combat (or you have to be SUPER CAREFUL to not double-tap heal, or you get nothing but a weak 2k heal, no condi cleanse, and no field – sometimes you need to spam the button when the game is being laggy).

They just need to git gud, anet shouldn’t kitten us all up because of people with no awareness. I used to deploy a turret and then immediately detonate to knock people back and now I have to wait 0.5 seconds which is a lot for a fast paced game..

And what should I do with that? It’s the player’s fault for detonating before the overcharge and that isn’t a reason for anet to put a delay between deploying and detonation.
Now if you want to detonate your turrets to deal damage and knock foes back you’d have to wait extra 0.5 seconds, this is absurd.

Right? Most of our attacks are projectiles, lots of classes have projectile stopping skills and on top of that they can also block and then maybe invuln skills. This puts us in a very bad situation because not only that our skills are avoidable and we need a good CC (which we don’t have enough good ones) to apply good damage, our opponents can evade, block, reflect projectiles and become invulnerable.

Just having a skill that gives you unblockable attacks for a few seconds will fix most of the core engineer’s problems.

You should notice that they did not show the right hand in the art when all leak images showed both hands for the other professions.

We most likely are not seeing the full art and there maybe a sword on the right hand as well.

I think what the engineer needs most is a mace, with skins for wrenches and stun batons.

Yes, engineer needs more CC skills, I was thinking rifle #2 could also stun for 1 second since overcharged shot doesn’t do kitten at all most players have more the enough stun breakers or defensive skills so OS is useless and power engineer needs CC to get good damage in

When the black screen happens I can press F12 and it shows the menu and that’s just it..

Here’s what i did. I updated the drivers, fixed the game client, changed from native to subsample and even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. The screen blackouts STILL happen. At this point i have no clue as to what the problem is. All i know is that the issue came soon after the latest living world update and continues still.
The rest of my comp and all it’s uses work just fine, even when playing other games.
I do not use any 3rd party software such as dps meters, reshade, etc.

If you guys have any idea what i can do besides buying a new comp, i’m all ears.

That’s exactly what I did and it still happens… I play for 5 minutes and I try to log out to characters screen and it shows a black screen. I choose my character and then minimize the game until it loads and after a few minutes I open up the game only to see a black screen.
I don’t know what to do anymore at this point

engineers need the old traiting system, 3 trait lines is NOT enough for the engineer, alchemy is almost a necessity and so is tools line, but we don’t need the full trait line so we lose traits we could’ve had.. the patch that destroyed build variety also destroyed engineer class along the way

It was a bit overpowered, your attacks cannot be blocked, reflected or destroyed.
Your pets are affected too, there are some pets that deal 6k damage on two skills even if you get LOS’d you could use your pet and longbow #5. Also when you have traited SOTW, you automatically use the skill at 50% hp or something like that I forgot.

Game keeps crashing after a few minutes, it shows nothing but black.

If they were to swap power wrench with any last tier or mid tier trait, so that it could be taken in conjunction with power wrench, it’d be instantly playable imo.

When I think about it, we don’t have a choice when we choose SD, we simply have to pick the same old skill set. If SD worked with every toolbelt skill it would open up lots of new build and I won’t say no to a HGH+SD build.

They shouldn’t be projectiles at all..
I get that my suggestion could make it strong, being instant hit and non-projectile and all but they could change it like Lightning Arc, they will get hit instantly but they would be able to dodge or block before they take lots of damage.

If SD were to be similar to ele lightning strike, there won’t be anymore missing the target because you used a toolbelt skill that doesn’t aim at your target. Plus engis could really use that non-projectile extra damage.
It could visually look like AED toolbelt skill but with longer range.
This way engineers wouldn’t have to pick specific skill set every time they want to trait SD. I really hope Anet considers this..

Hey guess what, the very thing I suggested to happen is starting to happen. Flamethrower has been changed for purity of purpose, and is now purely a condi weapon.

Now Anet just needs to keep doing this for the rest of the kits.

Something else I was thinking about, which I think would be a really easy fix for core engi, is changing Utility Goggles so that it’s no longer a blind immunity but that it makes our attacks unblockable similar to Signet of Might. That change alone would open up so many opportunities for us, and maybe make Tools a viable trait line in PvP again.

I’m fine with only this… Engineer class needs an unblockable effect…

Well, who said you must use kits in order to be an engi, sure, they are our most strongest option, but why keep feeding what is keeping us away from trying different ideas?

Well it depends on your build, I use the signet CD reduction trait and SotW on 50% hp trait, and then the other signet that gives you movement speed on passive and 50% damage on your next attack if you activate it.
My mauls deal 8-10k easily if I land with the 50% damage buff and 5-6k without. You can’t block it, you either blind. dodge or proc invuln skills. 3sec CD on maul btw.

Now, I change my pet to wolf/hound so it will do the knockdown skill, right before my pet lands the knockdown skill I use the 50% damage signet and I maul them. IF I get blinded, my pet will still deal 6k and I will still have another chance to land maul but without 50% since it only has a 3sec CD and SotW is 8 seconds + another one at 50% hp.

Don’t get me wrong, I WAS the ranger player and I kittening enjoyed wrecking my opponent but 8 seconds unblockable with a 48 CD (traited) plus the trait that uses SoW when your health drops below 50% is a bit too much for squishier classes wouldn’t you say ?
it felt like I overpowered him but if this is intentional I welcome it

Just tested, it makes unblockable.

Wow ! Hope it’s intended ANet, it’s a good buff !

Makes it overpowered it isn’t good buff, I go through blocks, reflections, and projectile destructions.. I was basically unstoppable having the trait AND the skill. Also makes it harder for anyone to kite you since the skill gives you movement speed and increases your damage output

Engineer class got reworked

-we only had F1-2

-tool kit was gone

-grenade kit #3 was changed to tool kit shield

-almost every trait was different, I remember some traits the were very good for grenade kit but I forgot what they were, the names of 2 traits and they were vauva-something and vau-something… lol, they had something to do with grenade damage output and another weird kitten

-F2 was the harpoon gun, at first I didn’t believe it would work on land but it did work and I bombarded the chat with excitement.
