Thanks all
So it’s pretty much lemongrass and passion flowers that are worth gathering? Pretty much, what are the ingredients that are worth 6+ silver.
Easy ones to farm are the basic rarity; Start here and work your way down the list.
Top 5 above 6s
Chilli
Lemongrass
Sesame Seed
Snow Truffle
SeaweedPoultry meat is usually ~9 silver.
But it can’t be harvestet .. else we could also post prices of powerful blood or whatever
we can get from killing mobs.
Sure it can, I farmed some (Poultry) last night. And chili peppers are more like 35 silver ea. but good luck building a stack of them soon with the stingy nodes :/
Well, just sold my stock of chili peppers when I saw the price. You are welcome. Then again, my wallet thanks me as well.
LOL my chef thanks you /deepbow
It really depends on where your at in game also because if your a heavy crafter your holding on to a larger sum that your taking in. “Thats me”. I’m not raking it in like many say they do because I don’t sell off everything I take in.
I guess I was lucky.
Yes most of you were because you had a more forgiving system, and thanks for adding salt to the wound….
When the new system hit, i had 30 SS, i now have 500ish and i only have done SW like for a few hours here and there for like 2 weeks.
You’re doing it wrong OP
Then your not really needing to spend yours letting them stack up like that because I spend them as fast as I can get them which cost me 20 for every piece of ascended I make.
You may have done SW here and there but surely that’s not all you did? how many scrolls and tomes did you have sitting in the bank also? Because I’m here to tell you I run the kitten out of SW for many long hours several times a week and I don’t think mine add up to that many?
You don’t “Have” to do anything.
You just choose to farm :P
Chose to farm or be left out of content. There are your two choices.
Do you think Spirit Shards are content?
A better question is do you think the time spent developing the system to craft ascended gear along with the mats and what drops it in the loot tables wasn’t content developing which spirit shards are party to now that they have been made a requirement to procure for ascended?

People have had a long fascination with humans having wings all the way back to when Greek mythology was first being recorded.
As for roleplay I only use them on my norn raven clan.
However if I needed an excuse for my other races to wear them I could always say they were mutating due to eating GMO foods being grown by the asura
I guess I was lucky.
Yes most of you were because you had a more forgiving system, and thanks for adding salt to the wound….
Having a round-table poll between community and content developers to avoid wasting time on content that few will purchase.
There have been several gem store items with nice features but one or two things were over the top and determined if I purchased it or not. In some cases it was just the color choices.
Running a community poll with a sneak peak on rough drafts will ensure a higher rate of return on sales.

Great so that’s more weeks added onto of the “No Grinding” System.
I don’t understand? YOU are 100% by chance grinding. You don’t need a legendary, ascended stats are the same. If you want to grind go grind, if you don’t want to then don’t. I do not see the problem.
Would you prefer getting a legendary be as easy as just getting it for killing a world boss or something? This is an mmorpg. You can play it how you want to. If getting a legendary was easier every single person would have one, there would be no time sink, no one would play the game and a legendary weapon wouldn’t be legendary and they might as well drop from bandits in queensdale
You do realize that you need SS to get augers stones for ascended gear also? I could careless if I ever get a legendary or not….In fact I debated about buying one out right on the TP. I just didn’t feel it was worth all that.
But on the same topic why can’t we acquire them where we get hero points? After all that is where most of you got yours along with scrolls and tomes….
(edited by Kamara.4187)
Same, but its the only place in the game you can go to “all on your lonesome” to generate the things you need to stay viable in the game.
I haven’t even been here that long and already I find that scenes of it invade my dreams when I sleep at night :/
Are there any materials like Passion Flowers that take 3 seconds to farm and are worth quite a bit and that can be repeated daily?
Chili peppers. So please get to farming them so the price will come back down to earth.
On that same topic all the nodes are crazy stingy and whoever is setting the rates needs to jump back. This is not Las Vegas, we paid for the game. Ease up a little before players start calling for regulations like they have in china to keep the industry from gouging the heck out of consumers…..
(edited by Kamara.4187)
Rifle, I use the heck out of every thing else though including shield, mace, scepter, and focus. Hammer time? loves me some hammer.
GW2 has its issues…but so has every other MMO. The question is will it survive the investors crying at one end to bleed more money out of the player base while cutting back on staff and services, or will they let the game developers focus on keeping the player base with good content.
Developers don’t always have the final say and more often than not its the ones that have no understanding of MMO’s at all that have the final say. Wall Street has a winning streak for killing off good games

Personally I think they have it just about right for the classes I play, which are guardian, ranger, and warrior (more to follow soon).
I had to make real sacrifices as to what runes I could use. Did I want the boost that travelers offered with the speed or a rune that would give me better defense/ damage.
As a guardian I already have access to great heals and condi cleanse with a couple of specials for closing distance. I could rely on the speed boost that the staff offers with a special, but its not a constant bump to speed with the amount of time for the cool down.
Its about choices and making sure that no one class has it all.
(edited by Kamara.4187)
I’d like a radiant glowing cursor with a slider for size, and electric color options pleezors.
Some of us gamers are getting old now lol.
(edited by Kamara.4187)
Personally, I wouldn’t mind being able to get my hair done between skirmishes.
LMAO!!!
So 80 blob arrives, and you have three people in your keep. You spot it in time, and your guys are talented enough to destroy the ACs that are built (over and over again) vs 80 and then jump back into the keep?
Well kudos to you, lol.
I’m with you on this one Jayne. I lived it more than once playing in the off hours on my server.
Sometimes we can pull off a epic save but there are times when the enemy herd is so huge and well coordinated that 2-3 ppl are just not enough to hold them off.
That’s wonderful news, and its always nice to see a red name in the wvw forum.
However that is only part of the problem. Players can still hit siege without having a true LOS with ground targeting specials, or attack the “underside” of a bridge/walkway that siege is sitting on and still be able to destroy it.
If those issues are not addressed as well then defending just became much more difficult.
On the same note I would much prefer seeing engineers having an expanded role in being able to take out siege and gates. I do not have a engineer avatar, but it just makes sense that the class would be specialized for such a thing in wvw. And rangers should be able to use barrage when defending from the top of a wall. In fact they are easier to kill than an arrow cart LOL.
(edited by Kamara.4187)
Leaa is correct. Just because they were doing maintenance doesn’t mean that bells and whistles were going off while their monitors flashed red to let them know it was happening. In fact we have no idea what kind of maintenance was taking place, or what level of admin privileges the techs had that preformed the task.
But aside from that five bucks says they have something in the works to plug these leaks, but its one of those things that stays behind closed doors for obvious reasons.

Looks like she knows her way around in zbrush.
Kill off traherne, bring back Tybalt.
Tybalt could have survived claw island.
Tybalt had apples.
Tybalt made it.i just know it.
Careful what you wish for. With this plot-line they very well could bring him back, but it might not be pretty LOL.
He was endearing though
(edited by Kamara.4187)
Well we are all just kind of scratching our heads over it still, so if any of us come across it again, make a note of everything. The more information QA has the easier it will be for them to narrow down the cause. /salute
Kamara I wasn’t here for the Queen’s Jubilee, I’ve only been playing a little over a year, what recipes did I miss out on?
Sigil of Malice , Rune of Tormenting, Rune of Exuberance, Sigil of Bursting, Sigil of Renewal, Rune of Perplexity, and Watchwork Portal Device.
I copied the above from a quick google search. But go look at what some of those items are selling for.
P.S. I wasn’t here for it either which is another disappointing strike for being a new to GW2 player
(edited by Kamara.4187)
Neutral gender or not I found him to be effeminate. I would have preferred a butch woman kicking kitten with me.
Agree 100% with the OP. I had problems seeing them on several maps.
Healthy economy for who? Certainly not the new player/crafter that is locked out of the few recipes that actually make a profit for those that were lucky enough to be present during the queens jubilee event.
I have master crafter and 99,9% of anything you can make is lucky if it sells higher than the going price on mats that were used to make it. I mainly used crafting to level aside from wanting the achievement.
So please don’t try to sing me the song about a healthy economy or supply and demand because that went out the window when real cash entered the picture.
From the stingy resource nodes, or the account bound crafted items, along with the constant down bidding for items on the TP it all runs like a well oiled casino slanted in the house’s favor.
In a nutshell that is why you can’t have some of the things you want unless you get sucked into the black-hole of crafting which encourages the player to look towards the TP for bulk mats.
(edited by Kamara.4187)
Yes I use it and I don’t like to have my time wasted by crawling across the map to get things done.
Pve wise I’ve found not having a speed boost to be more of an annoyance than anything else.
WvW is a different story however. When my characters didn’t have a boost I would fall behind and sometimes my character was killed because of it. In WvW its a must IMO.
there are some attacks if used will prevent capture point. My suggestion is mouse over your specials and see if your using one of those attacks while trying to capture an objective.
Could you please be more vague?
What type attacks do you speak of please..
Edit: If you can pin-point down exactly what causes this behavior I am sure the devs would like to hear from you so submit a ticket so they can put in a fix asap.
I’m saying its not a bug and its working as intended and all of you should look at your utility specials and see if your trying to use one of them to capture objectives.
the skills will tell you they prevent capture point.
Example=
Guardian skill “renewed focus” prevents capture point.
you’re misunderstanding the OP. This isn’t about not contributing to the cap. It’s about contributing to the cap yet not getting any rewards.
It’s a weird bug that’s been around for a while, but it doesn’t happen consistently enough so it’s hard to work out what the exact cause is. It also only happens rarely so not a major issue tbh.
No I get what the OP is saying. I’ve not been in game long compared to many of you, so when I read “prevents capture point” I assumed it also voided out any reward.
If this is not the case and it is a bug could there be a correlation between the two?
I recall this happened to me once when we (a group) were taking back SW tower in our borderlands. After receiving nothing when the tower flipped I went digging for an answer, and that’s when I realized that I had used “renewed focus” during the cap.
I assumed that was the reason my reward had been voided out though the objective was captured by the group.
according to the Update – 03 December 2012
Invisible & invulnerable players can no longer contest capture points in WvW. WvW capture points now follow the same rules as PvP capture points.
Anyhow that was my experience so I offered it up hoping it might be helpful in some way.
I agree with much of what you said here, but the new camera view can’t be blamed on the player when it was a dynamic granted by development.
By the same token it doesn’t make sense that attacks can hit behind walls and destroy AC or hit enemy players behind walls when a rangers barrage can’t even fire down on the enemy when they are on the edge of the wall exposed and in view of the enemy.
/salute from anvil rock btw
I agree to an extent but I just wish the WvW community would collectively agree not to use this crap. There is nothing that frustrates me more than hopping on an AC or treb or what ever else I’m trying to use to defend something only to immediately get pelted by an arrowcart from outside which then proceeds to chase me around everywhere I go. Like I understand that it’s frustrating when you attack something that’s well sieged and it sucks to have your zerg get wiped by a bunch of AC’s but as I’d said in another comment in this thread the attacking zerg almost always has the advantage of time. Just build catas or trebs or something instead of dropping cheese AC’s.
Ugh, I could rant about it all day, lol.
And /salute to you as well. I like to be trolly in WvW but it’s all in good fun.. I won’t use unfair advantages so you can expect to never see me building cheese AC’s.
That’s what I love about Dark Haven.
Most of you that I have encountered on the BF are very honorable:). /respect.
And your not alone in your rants. Lets just hope that the up coming changes to the game puts wvw back on track.
again /salute and cya on the BF

There are some attacks and elite skills if used will prevent capture point. My suggestion is mouse over your specials and see if you’ve been trying to use one of those attacks while trying to take an objective.
Those specific attacks are meant to help during player vs player but are over powering when used against npc, which is why they designed it that way so players won’t use them to capture towers, camps, ect, ect. .
Hope that helps /salute

What the actual kitten are those who are defending this behavior talking about… WvW is not a kittening karma train it’s a strategic war and fighting game. Using arrow carts to clean everything inside structures eliminates important roles in WvW to favor greater numbers while crippling the smaller numbers.
You don’t go “oh, this tower is well sieged, guess we should build an arrowcart, stack around it, kill all their siege then take it.” You come up with a different strategy to take the structure by range attacking it (using a catapult or trebuchet for example) or you wait for a more opportune moment to attack it such as when it’s left un-defended.
I’m really tired of people wanting to always take the easy way out by abusing broken “features” like this. It is not at all fun to just steamroll maps all day. People complain that WvW is stale and “dying” for exactly this reason. Because people are ruining the dynamics of it by refusing to think outside the box.
I will NOT build cheese arrowcarts when/if my commander places one. People need to stop breaking WvW then complaining that Anet doesn’t care about it.

I feel for you, but sadly there are so many cheats going on in wvw right now that players look at everything as suspect.
WvW needs a 24/7 GM available and on the battle fields in my humble opinion.
Kovu’s got it pretty much spot on. Dragonbrand lacks NA-TZ raiding guilds and pugmanders that can compete with the 20-mans from other servers. There are definitely pugs and roamers about, but let’s be real- nobody wants to die and people WILL fight from the safety of walls. I honestly can’t blame them since DH and AR never do anything without a group of at least 15.
Aren’t you the guy with the spy account on AR that was caught destroying golems parked at spawn about a month ago?
THIS! I remember that and it was pretty kitten dirty. The other thing I remember about DB is they ran like a raging herd when they knew the enemy was in bed. With overwhelming numbers they would still stay within the gates and use AC against a group of 6 enemy at their gate when the odds were 10 to one in their favor.
I did encounter a few good fights from a veteran or two, but they were few and far between. That’s the nicest thing I can say about them after that cheap shot of logging a spy toon and driving our golems off a cliff….If you can’t win fair go pve….
(edited by Kamara.4187)
I cut back on using my credit card because of the gate…If I have to hurry up and wait, I might as well just earn gold the old fashioned way…while I’m waiting, and waiting….
(edited by Kamara.4187)
Not after the golem event…that one was enough to last me a life time……
I want to know why the admin logs are not flagging all this…engines over 10 years old managed…

So how much longer?
It matters a great deal. I personally think the transfer costs in this game are a complete joke. kitten you can farm it in silverwastes in like 4-6 hours if you’re lucky, 6-8 hours if unlucky or have ultra low MF. With this kinda time investment you can go server hopping once a week with ease even if you are a casual player.
So you make 330 gold in one day by doing Silverwastes? Anet should look into that (and no, I don’t believe you, unless you’re very lucky and find precursers non stop).
This in itself is wrong and GREATLY contributed to server stacking, guild buying etc. No one should be able to buy guilds, ever for any reason, period. Each and every individual player should be responsible and have a pause at the word “transfer” which is not the case currently.
Guilds have been bought before – I know of a guild which wasn’t only bought but is also paid for filling the off hours. So even if that happens the new system hasn’t changed anything regarding buying guilds.Personally I think it’s too early to say what this system did/does but I’m glad anet acknowledged that there is a population issue and tried to tackle it. By changing the status of low populated servers from “very high” to “high” they increase their chance to get new players. Not because of the status butbecause of the costs. Right now a lot of people may panic and still opt for higher tier servers “because they could be closed a week from now” but who knows. At least it’s a start.
Hi
Yes. I make around 300-350ish per 4-6 hours average in silverwastes, and no, I am not the only one, in fact I was just talking to people about it on teamspeak last night when we were doing some WvW, and not only I am not the only one, but there are people that make a lot more then me as well. And no, it is perfectly legit, not a single exploit cheat etc. just straight up legit gameplay. Not necessarily in one day, but rather hours / maps total. Usually I stretch it over few days due to the monotonny of it and DR kicking in anyways, but if I push it I can indeed do so in 1 day as can many players, most just do not realize it, they do not take advantage of all the ingame available systems. If you’d like detailed step by step instructions, please let me know, I will PM you as it is a very off-topic discussion.
And I do stick to my point, which is that server hopping, especially to servers which are now labeled as “full” was / is just too cheap due to ingame available options and has contributed to the current situation on fairly large scale.
Bullshyt. Few have the time that I have to play the game ( I’m disabled) and I have never seen a payday like that in the silverwaste. You might be crafting ascended mats to make a nice profit but its gated and you would have to have more than one account to be able to pull that kind of gold down in a day unless you got an exceptional drop, which is few and far between in this stingy game.
I don’t personally make anywhere near that much gold since I rarely spend time in SW, but I know roughly what he’s probably doing because I have friends who do it too. They make around 50ish gold per hour spent farming in SW.
In games, as in real life, success doesn’t come from working hard, it comes from working smart.
80ish
sometimes more, sometimes less, but around there. And yes, the key is in the smarts, in addition to the effort.
My disabled friend, L2P. You have not fully grasped the mechanics. Would you like me to PM you a detailed guide ?
Well as much as I’d love to argue with “not grasping the mechanics” I can’t because I’m still somewhat new to GW2 (but I do play a whole lot). If your willing to shoot me a guide I’d be happy to read it because I was being truthful when I said “I’ve never had a day where I could even come close to that”.
It’s cheaper to make a few particular items than to buy it yourself, typically revolving around consumables.
I could just sell my mithril ore and t5 dust and buy hardened sharpening stones, or I can just make them myself without having to go through the tp’s 15% if I sold the ore and such, having to wait on buy/sell orders.
I’ll agree with this in some cases, but in most I’ve found that the mats sell for more over all than an actual crafted product. Which can be attributed to the scarcity of/from nodes.
(edited by Kamara.4187)
As someones said above, wait until HoT. The games mechanic on condi is broken at the moment.
Why should we believe the condi/boon issue will be any different in an expansion when the state of the core game has been altered to this degree?
I have master craftsman and its nothing but a means to gouge the players wallet when the map is as stingy with mats as is.
Profit? Good luck with that when the TP drives down the sell price below the cost of what the mats are selling for. In fact this is the stingiest game I’ve ever played concerning crafters.
I did it because I hate to level and I wanted the level boost along with the achievement. Beyond that it has been a money pit in favor of the game, not the player.
I was a super diehard WvW player. I came in new to game and was hooked on it before I hit level 80 with my first toon, but golem rush broke me.
It showed me that in spite of the promises being made from development, there really is little no respect or concern for the majority of the community.
I’ve only been back in wvw a few times since, and only because my guild leader sent me a whisper asking me to.

I agree with the OP. I have experienced both as a new to GW2 player and the changes are way over the top. GW2 had a better game before they turned it into “hide and seek”….
And as for Keira’s comment above me. It may be nice to be the one throwing the one shot but few find it entertaining being on the receiving end of it. In fact its a fast track that leads a players to quit games if it happens all the time to them.
(edited by Kamara.4187)
I agree with the OP.
Most of you managed to horde up larger numbers due to playing the game longer and under a more generous system while newer players are struggling.
Its not about “I want it now” its about not making things more difficult for the new player.
I second that – or for people like me who like to run around and farm nodes. Would be nice if nodes had a 0,0X% chance of dropping a spirit shard. I kind of feel forced to run champ trains.
The problem is it was originally harder to get world complete, dungeon tokens and the gift of battle as well as tier 6 mats and obsidian shards. So new players have one thing harder and half a dozen things easier.
New players complaining about how difficult it is to get a legendary are not looking at the bigger picture.
I’m talking about spirit shards. The OP may have been focused on spirit shards for a legendary (which I could have purchased out-right “as a starting player” on the TP if I had wanted one that bad). Spirit shards are more than just for legendary weapons.

Its not about “I want it now” its about not making things “more difficult” for the “new player” And mocking the OP by bragging about your large sums of SS is pretty hypocritical when you had it easier to begin with….

Pikes or polearms are a frontline weapon for heavy plate fighters.
Crossbows fit in well though. As a by the by …. have you seen the #2 skill for longbow warriors?
I should be ashamed. I have a level 80 warrior but I have yet to put a bow on her to see what it can do. So I have to say no to your question :S
———————————-
As for everyone that posted above Menadena; it would appear that my opinion is definitely in the minority (lol which wouldn’t be the first time in my life). Like I said I’m trying to keep an open mind. I just don’t want to see the Revenant over shadow the role of the guardian, or the guardian being a better choice for range combat over my ranger.
I’d also like to thank you all for your opinions which gives me a better understanding of the community vibe and aids me to keep an open mind.
