Good patch!
I enjoyed the Hatchery dungeon (haven’t tried the other one yet), WvW is frikken EPIC now that I can see all the players and blown away by all the new weapon models. Good job
Honestly gw2 prove me that no subs can work for an MMO… So I don’t want to pay for accessing the game any more. I rather support the game willingly and get extra stuff for it
Goodbye monthly fees!
Same here
I love the flexibility of not having a sub fee where I can choose to support the game when it fits in my budget and inclination.
And end up like WoW with 2 hour LFR queues? No thanks
Take those trinity training wheels off and have some fun~
It’s the fastest growing MMO ever made (outside of China).
Last time they stated sales figures was in January, it was 3 million then. In the US all servers but 3 are Very High. I’m on a Very High server and the population has easily doubled since launch.
The question you really want to ask is: How well do they manage server populations? I mean I use to play a game that boasted millions of players worldwide but my server was dead as dirt. I could care less how many peeps they had in China if my auction house was empty and I couldn’t form an arena team or find a tank or healer for my raid group.
I’m still seeing new people joining the game everyday, players that have never seen the Behemoth or the Shatterer, players asking how to get the POI above the Eastern Ward in Lion’s Arch.
I get most of mine from harvesting. Surprisingly I’ve been getting them lately from Fractal runs.

Have you un-equipped the items before you try to transmute them?
I’m curious to see the Endless Mystery Cat Tonic too!
There have been sightings of the pets….

^ Angry Joe is spot-on in that review
If GW2 had a subscription I wouldn’t be here playing. The sole reason I bought GW2 (and GW1+expansions) was because it was B2P.
After SWTOR I swore never to play a subscription based game ever again; no matter how ‘awesome’ it may be.
Having to pay $60 for nothing more than a login screen and then forcing you to pay $15/month in order to actually access the game (basically renting your account) is nothing more than a scam these days in my opinion.
Exactly. I will never fall into the trap of a sub fee game again.
They’ve deleted the April Update Page lol xD
Aw! I should’ve taken a screenshot
We are going to get soo trolled on April 1 i can see it now.
Thx for the heads up Riselight.
I for one welcome our 8-bit overlords.
Oh god. Pacman is coming to Tyria and we’re the ghosts!
Try Grenth. Or Lyssa. Or Balthazar.
You can preview dyes from the Trading Post now
Just right click and hit preview. It doesn’t give you all the dye channels on your gear – just fully colors each piece, but it should give you an idea of what it will look like on your gear.
I love the Angry Joe review where he goes into a game store and the clerk tries to sell him WoW as best the mmo.
That’ll be $60 then sir.
That’’ll be 15 more dollars by the way
Uh 15 more dollars sir
That’ll be fifteen dollars!
15 dollars…
15 dollars!
Fifteen dollars
$15
That’ll be 15 dollars!
(Angry Joe punches out the clerk’s lights)
Yeah, sub fee games suck.
All US servers are located in Texas, all EU servers are located in Frankfurt – that might help if you want to try a pingtest.
This thread is back again? What is it with this topic that it keeps coming up . . .
And no, I wouldn’t be playing it. I don’t pay monthly fees for my entertainment anymore than I must (Cable modem/television and my DVR box).
Oh, I think we know why
Forward this on for me wouldja OP?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ytzOmjzfKM
Smart gamers know (and the rest are quickly learning!) that combining microscopic drop rates with monthly fees = bad games.
The veil has been pulled. B2P is the only way to play games now.
It’s cool for guild recruitment, but they should despawn after awhile.
Subscription fees are no indication of the quality of a game, in fact it’s quite the opposite!
Look at those poor sods playing WoW for instance – they go weeks and months of running the same instance trying to get a piece of gear to unlock the next tier. That’s not a game mechanic, that’s a ripoff.
This daughter of Ascalon will not pay a sub fee for ANY game. Those games are blatant ripoffs and not worth a 2nd look.
However, I gladly throw gems ANet’s way when
1) I want to show my support and approval for what they are doing with the game and
2) When it fits in my budget
MY choice, MY budget. It’s the only way to play games now

The 5% listing fee you paid when you listed the items will not be returned. This is to encourage people to make reasonable listings.
Now, if you cancel a buy order all your gold will be returned.
Items will stay in the Trading Post until you remove the listing.
When you remove it, the items are returned to you. You can get them by going to any Trading Post and using the Pick Up tab.

Magic is an important force in the world of Guild Wars 2. It is presented as a supernatural power that can be controlled by certain individuals, and is split up into four “schools”: Preservation, Destruction, Aggression, and Denial. Most magic users must commit to a single school – it is impossible to utilize magic to its full extent without cooperation.
Magic is practiced mainly by scholars of all races, as well as being an integral part of asura society. The charr regard magic with suspicion and are distrustful of magic users, even within their own ranks.

Yes, the overwhelming majority of players roll Human. Good thing is you can get to the Human 1-15 area fairly easily by:
1) Enter the Asura portal to Lion’s Arch (it’s in The Grove – the sylvari capital)
2) In LA take the Asura portal to Divinity’s Reach (human capital)
3) Walk out the front door of Divinity’s Reach and voila! You are in Queensdale.
There are no login issues since GW2 utilizes an overflow system. You can always play immediately, but if the zone you are logging into is full, you go to an overflow map.
Overflows generally occur in the main city of Lion’s Arch and zones which have meta events active. You can play the entire game and group with anyone in overflow. You get a popup when a spot opens on your home server.
Some servers have queues to enter WvW as it only holds up to 2000 players.
Here are the WvW rankings which might give you an idea of what you are looking for.

Anet stated there would be no expansion in 2013
I have seen no such statement. Source?
We anticipate NCsoft will also launch a mobile version of Blade & Soul in 1H through one of Japan’s leading mobile-gaming platform operators, DeNA. NCsoft plans to roll out its new title WildStar (currently being developed by US-based Carbine Studios) in 2H using CD packages in the US and Europe. It also intends to launch Guild Wars 2 in China, Taiwan, and Japan. An expansion pack for Guild Wars 2 is slated for a 2H release in the US and Europe.

Probably end of this year.
It’s fairly easy to get exotic gear at max level, getting ascended gear takes much more time.
With 33 dungeon paths, Fractals which level to infinity in difficulty, 43 jump puzzles, Guild Missions, WvW, and 6 PvP maps I daresay GW2 has more endgame than WoW.
Not to mention you are downscaled for all areas, the entire game remains current content.
(edited by Karizee.8076)
The clue does not tell you which map, it’s something like "so&so was spotted drinking ale near (name of a place in game with a drinking event). You can find out which map by looking at Dulfy’s site.
What I would suggest to prepare your team for the Mission is to do a dry run.
1) Randomly pick a target and have your team waypoint to that map and locate the target. (this will tell you how quickly your team can locate targets – they are on all the maps all the time).
2) Take your team to Cursed Shore and see if you can 6 man a Risen Abomination Champ (that’s near the scaled health of the bounty targets, although some have some interesting mechanics – need to be knocked out of their auras or retaliation, etc.)
gw2lfg.com <——-find a group in under 2 minutes.
1) The Guild Leader has to start the Mission. Only the Guild Leader can do this.
2) It does not start automatically.
3) Your bounty targets are random, but each target has it’s own map.
4) Yes, you do get a hint but it’s not very helpful as to the actual location on the map (some targets have paths that last for over an hour).
5) The only people that can kill a bounty target are those that are in a guild with the bounty mission activated that have that target as their objective.
There are 15 possible targets. When your Guild Leader starts the Mission it will show your 2 targets on the Guild Missions tab under Guild Upgrades. You have 15 minutes to locate and kill those 2 targets.
My guild that has been completing T3 Bounties since it was available (6 targets). What we are doing is locating all 15 targets prior to our GL starting the Mission, then splitting groups to waypoint to each target location for the kill. This could be a rough strategy for a smaller guild however. I think coordinating on Teamspeak or Vent is important to the success of these Missions.
Feel free to ask me any questions you have
Dulfy has put together a comprehensive guide on Guild Bounties which you might find helpful.
Locating and using the diving goggles for the Dive Master achievement might fall into the category of what you’re looking for.
Since you mentioned Keg Brawl, I’m sure you’ve see/heard of Costume Brawl?
The Skritt Burglar events are really fun. She hides in chests located throughout the world, when you find her, you must chase her down – she drops bags of shinies along the way. Spent an evening with friends going to all the known spawn locations to see if we could trigger the events.
As it’s been mentioned, the jump puzzles are really fun, some of them are very challenging, others much easier – there’s currently 43 of them located throughout the world.
Yesterday for a Guild Bounty.
Despite the complaints, I’m not really sure how this change discourages people from playing their alts, unless the definition of “playing an alt” = “briefly logging onto spare characters in order to maximize rare drop rewards from 2 minute fights”. If so, then, yeah, this change is trying to discourage that. Guilty as charged.

I’ve seen people claim good luck with 3 exotics + 1 Mystic Forge Stone

You can change a soulbound item to accountbound by using a transmutation stone and combining it with a white item. I know it works with exotics and legendaries but I cannot confirm on ascended.

I heard from an ANet person in game that April Fool’s is going to be pretty spectacular. He was fair cackling, said he has no idea what they are going to do next year since this year is going to be so over the top, lol.

I am. But I’m not really that focused on it.
I love the game and play it for fun, hate farming with a bloody passion and pretty scattered in my activities from sussing out dynamic events to fractals or pvp in the EB jump puzzle – just whatever I feel like playing that day and what my friends are up to.
I’m better than half way there. I’m in no mad rush, it will happen when it does and I’ll be thrilled when I get it but I’m not about to ruin my fun by trying to prove something. BTDT in another game and never again
You might be able to find some pieces here that you can mix and match to make what you’re looking for

Well, they overbuffed it a couple weeks back to the point that’s all everyone was doing – to the point of disrupting servers with overflows.
Now they dialed it back a bit to even things out.
It’s a good change, it makes sense.
