You can transfer free if you have no characters on your account.
From the wiki:
The transfer fee is only charged if you have characters on your account; in other words, if your account has no characters or you delete all existing characters first, you will be prompted to select a new home world after creating a new character, free of charge.
Pass that on for me, wouldja OP?

Uhh if you havent notice, the way you look IE COSMETICS is a competition, so this game IS pay to win in that regard. Since when was only fighting a competition. Theres competition all around you, look, and it doesnt invovle smacking someone. Therefore its cheating, paying to get a head is cheating, its like paying the refereee to score points because you dont want to or cant score yourself. Cheating plain and simple, I dont know how any game can call itself credible when they ALLOW CHEATERS TO CHEAT in their game. How am I supposed to play a game where known cheaters are allowed to play?
A skin isn’t going to help you win in tPvP no matter how good you look
Won’t help you get Dungeon Master either.

The first thing I’d suggest they do is open a PTR so they can do proper testing on pvp.
PTR’s are worse than useless. Just look at WoW – it’s last expac was on PTR for 6 months and launched with the buggiest mess you ever saw. They still have not cleaned up those bugs, the balance is out of control and when they opened the first raid, a low level paladin solo’d the raid boss LOL.
Complete waste of time and resources. All it does is give players that have the time to play it an inside peek to manipulate their AH.
Sotzz broken on SoR – no suspicious barrels at all.
My long lost sister was trapped in the forge for an eon. Turns out she accidentally fell in when an overzealous Guardian was running about recklessly hitting his hammer 4 when he launched her into the air and she landed smack dab in the middle of the forge, fell to the bottom and was only able to survive from the random bits and scraps of food people tossed in there.
She made her escape during Wintersday by way of the snowglobe. If it hadn’t been for Tixx, she’d still be there.
That means it’s on it’s way to a new content patch near you!
Izzy in a suit – what is the world coming to?
This was predicted back in December by a securities firm and has been talked about since before launch.

I tried that website last night and got a group within 10-15 min.. i was doing AC story mode too. I seriously hate using 3rd party sites. Hopefully A-net is reasonable and gives us a LFG tool for dungeons.
Cool thing about this site is it was created by a player, a well-known member of the community. He’s a great guy and takes suggestions on how to improve it.
So it’s not just some anonymous 3rd person site
Big thumbs up to this post!
I’ve had more fun, more smiles, more great MMO experiences in this game than any other. Imaginative, creative content keeps pouring out the gate and I never even had to pay a sub fee. Spectacular!
Don’t think the game needs too much support since it’s exploding worldwide in popularity
But I will say it’s hands down the best MMO I’ve ever played.
Thanks for the awesome!
Just go to the sites from the official page.

Anything else would be suspect.
Yes, you can continue to use transmute crystals to transfer the look of an item onto newer gear.
It’s accountbound when you buy it, it becomes soulbound once you use it. So character A can buy it, put it in the bank for character B to pick up and use.
Welcome to the party!
Well, that’s a tall order since there have been content additions every month…..
Off the top of my head they added:
Guild Missions
Fractals (dungeon which scales in difficulty to infinity)
A new zone
Living Story
Leaderboards
WvW ranks
Dungeon revamps
More jumping puzzles
Ascended gear
A couple PvP maps including CTF
Skritt burglar events
Upgraded loot from world drops & meta events
Flexible daily & monthly achievements
Tons of polish to existing content including dungeons
Tons of balancing to professions
You can take a look at the patch notes to see what I missed or more detail on what changed.

I mentioned the difficulty since I saw you’d posted just yesterday that you were having a bit of trouble with mobs in the open world that were at your level.
As a fellow new player I have to second this, I’ve found leveling to be more often then not a frustrating experience on most of the classes I’ve tried.
Ranged Mobs seem to be massively over powered, it’s like they were designed with full action combat in mind – the idea that a good player could avoid 90% or more of their damage. But GW2 is not full action, it’s a hybrid between old hotbar mmo combat and new actiony combat.
On my thief I routinely come upon ranged enemies my level or even a level or two lower that can take off nearly 1/3rd of my health in one or two basic auto-attacks, which most spam once a secondish for what I’ve fought.
Melee mobs are nearly as bad but they can be kited, though it would be nice not to have to run in endless circles just to kill standard mobs.
The whole damage system seems really overtuned at low levels and it’s severely limiting my desire to even try getting certain classes up despite the fact I enjoy them.
The mobs and bosses in the dungeons are more like Champions in the open world. But if you’ve got a handle on things since then – great! Jump on in and don’t look twice
The dungeons are a lot of fun, especially the Fractals.
There is a LFG function on your Friends List, but it’s not very good.
Everyone that isn’t running with guildmates or friends is using http://gw2lfg.com/
Excellent site, over 3.6 million groups have formed over the last couple months using it.Generally takes a minute or two to get a group.
Thanks for the link, I suppose that’s something at least. Though the idea of having to resort to third party websites for what should be a basic in-game utility is really really jarring in 2013..
Just feels like a really glaring oversight.
Not so much an oversight as it is a low priority feature.
Remember this is a fresh game and they are all about building community at this point. And the community in this game is one of the greatest I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing with
Also, these dungeons are hard. Not some mindless little loot chute like in WoW. Better to go with friends and guildies, at least for your first times through.

Lollipop Chain Saw
Haha, I like the slowmo action.
Pondering whether it’s worth it to get the slingshot, bomb, whip, etc. for my alts in anticipation of farming future hard modes – what are you guys doing?
So it does work? What browser do you use? Nothing happens when I try to select my guild on Firefox.
Go to the Achievements Leaderboard
https://leaderboards.guildwars2.com/en/na/achievements
Select “Guild” in the Filter by drop down box.
Select the guild you would like to see in the Select a guild… drop down box (if you are in more than one)
It pulls up a list of your members.
Float your mouse pointer over the number in the Achievements column and you should see a date such as “Since 4/16/13 1:00AM PDT”
/reddit just started a Guild Missions subforum yesterday – spread the word!
I’m not suggesting autokick for anyone that hasn’t earned a point over a certain period. I’m well aware there may be people that log in only to /dance in Lion’s Arch.
If you have not seen the person + they have not notified you of taking a break + they have not earned a point over the last month you may well wonder if they are active. Put them in a rank “One Foot Out” and send them an ingame mail to contact you – IF – only if you are concerned about inactives on your roster.
I broke it down For Science.
3/26 – 2
3/27 – 4
3/28 – 3
3/29 – 7
3/30 – 3
3/31 – 5
4/1-4/17 – 473
It looks like March 26 is the oldest date.
So out of our guild of 497 members we have 2 possible inactives – yay us!
The new Leaderboards now have a filter by Guild function. If you hover over the achievement points it shows the date they last earned a point.
This may not account for everyone as there may possibly be players that never get a point (can’t quite conceive how but) you can throw those players into a special rank and send them an ingame mail to advise you next time they log in and flush them out if you don’t hear from them.
(btw – our guild of 497 members with generally 80-100 online at any given time only has a handful that haven’t earned a point in over the last 2 weeks. 2 weeks was the longest since anyone has earned a point)
I love how they did the jump animations. And everyone jumps, you see all these players all over the place boinking around like the happy little campers we are.
Jumping has evolved into a way of saying Hi! Running along side another player, I jump and they jump back lol.
A well executed zerg is a beautiful thing (and fun too!)
It’s very confusing if you’re not familiar with this type of fighting, but please don’t dismiss this type of gameplay simply as “zergfest”. Sure, the players are using a lot of AoE attacks, but the placement of that AoE is crucial, as is the positioning of the players even when they’re not engaged. There’s a great deal of tactics, skill and organization involved in fights like these, even if it is difficult to spot for those who aren’t used to this style of fighting.
In the opening there’s a lot of feinting, changing directions, false retreats and whatnot as they come together, each side attempting to get the other side to waste its AoE or Veils prematurely.
And when the AoE’s go down the commander has to decide whether to pull his group away from a disadvantageous situation (which you see a lot when Timewarp goes down) or to stay and press whatever advantage he perceives he has.
And this is made harder if the group becomes too split up and scattered, but that tends to happen somewhat as everyone dodges attacks or moves out of AoE toward whatever edge they’re nearest to. And then there are some burst/finisher AoE’s like Ele’s Teleport→Churning Earth that can’t be run out of only blocked or otherwise mitigated.
If the group gets too split up they’ll outrange each other’s protective AoE, giving the opposition an opportunity to pick off stragglers.
Add in terrain differences, siege differences, objective differences (attacking or defending) split forces – some pushing towers, some distracting at another gate, some resupplying to reinforce the main zerg, some split to take supply camps before the tick or just to cut off supply from getting into a tower. Consider builds intended for running supply, scouting, dokyak sniping, dolyak escorting, siege shielding, open field combat etc., and you start to understand the complexity of this war.
Really fascinating to watch and analyze, imho – and even more fun to play.
Here’s some excellent footage from T1 EU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=iwJ34UecxNk
As you can see, it gets very intense.
You’d probably have a better experience by joining your server’s Teamspeak or running with your guildmates. Worth a try, it’s lots of fun

Items offered
Triple-Luck Tonic Basic Tonic 8c
Wealth, fame, and power—a recipe for success. One drink gives you what most people can’t achieve in a lifetime. There is a downside to drinking the tonic, i.e., at least one minute of “lousy luck”.
Curious about this “lousy luck”, I followed the link to this:
Triple-Luck Tonic
Consuming the tonic gives you Rotten Luck for over a minute. If you talk to Ooshanu again and complain, it starts the Defeat Orma of Modus Sceleris Event.

Yes. The prices are dynamically linked to the Trading Post and update every hour.
I’ve used the guide 2x now and can recommend it highly. I did find when it said to purchase the item from the TP rather than crafting it, I could save a bit more coin by putting bids on items. Takes a little longer, a bit more running back and forth to the TP but end result was a bit cheaper.
I imagine they went with percentile since ranking numbers would change so rapidly on millions of players.
If you are in the top 1000 on your world, your name is highlighted on the page. 25 ranks per page – just count it up
Umm no this is what I’m saying it is not showing the top 1k by world only. It is ONLY showing the top 1k players amongst ALL worlds.
Oh, lol – when I said world I was talking about the planet Earth in the grand all encompassing universe like way
I imagine they went with percentile since ranking numbers would change so rapidly on millions of players.

The 90% is a percentile.
This means your score is higher than 90% of the playerbase.
Number rank is only given to the top 1000 players in the world.
Your best bet would be to join a guild
I agree on the D/D elementalist.

One thing you can do to try it out is roll a toon, jump into the Heart of the Mists where you will be boosted to 80 with all the traits/abilities/gear, etc. and practice around with the target dummies or jump into a hot match or sPvP game to see how it plays. Good way to save some leveling time just to find out if you like it.
What you get with the new dyes is deeper contrast & gradation.
Compare Eucalyptus with Deep Glacial Teal:
The following phrases are now banned from my PC:
- “Your quest log is full.”
- “You are out of Mana.”
- “Your gathering skill is insufficient to harvest that.”
- “You just missed the boat/zeppelin to ________ City. Please wait for it to return.”
- “LF Healer, Tank” (repeated periodically over an hour)
- “You can’t use that weapon, the stats aren’t appropriate for your class!”
- “You need a higher gear score to enter this dungeon.”
- “You may not loot that corpse.”
- “Please bring me 20 Greater Boar Tusks…” (when not every boar drops tusks)
- “Darn, somebody just killed the quest mob! I wonder when it respawns…”
- “Visit a class trainer (in a major city) to learn your new skills”
- “Stop running around, you can’t avoid attacks!”And the list goes on, and on, and on…
None of these mechanics were designed to give players a good time. They were designed to actively prevent us from having too good a time, and to delay progress to a snail’s pace. Some aspects of older MMOs are “innocent” products of their time, created because games were expected to work a certain way and nobody “knew better” — but most of them were intentional, downright contemptuous acts of player sabotage used to artificially extend play hours (especially subscription months).
Let me add to that list:
Master Looter

EPGP
DKP
and the worst….

Funnest MMO I’ve ever played. I’ve had more laughs in this game, more smiles, more walking away from a game session happy than any other MMO I’ve ever played.
You can delete all of your characters and choose a new server at no cost.

They reached 2 million sales a couple weeks after launch. Had to halt sales.
They announced 3 million in January.
Based on that rate of growth, the number of times they’ve had to increase server capacity and Colin stating that sales have been increasing, I imagine they’ll be announcing 4 million sales soon.
498 people in my guild with 2 showing Unknown location.
Great fun There’s a reason it’s the fastest growing MMO ever made.
Extremely little grind in the game -unless you want a grind, then you can grind out a legendary or you can simply take the more leisure route and get it along the way since it doesn’t OP your stats.
and there’s a few thousand people using the trade post at all times,
…more like a few million
