I just threw 4 rare daggers into the forge, one of them was a Sentinel dagger and I received a mace.
I think the Mystic Forge may be reading Sentinel gear as a random weapon?
As you continue to play you will start to recognize the names of the prominent guilds. This is where the rivalries come in. When you see their guild colors hanging from your castle’s walls, then you will feel hate.
Dip into the WvW forums and you will stories of alliance and betrayal, espionage and treason – it’s a regular Game of Thrones in there.
Is your helm high enough level to accept the upgrade you are trying to put in it?
I love how this is unfolding, great direction – give a big thumbs up to the team from me
My onliest wish is that for the new hats we have HAIR.
From the patch notes:
“Entrances to the Molten Weapons Facility change over time as new locations are found.”
Not sure what triggers the entrance locations.
has anyone notice a reduction in orichalcum ore prices due to the unlimited mining pick?
Nope, looks steady.

- Colours while colarating your armor, you can change the order, but each time after relogging, you are back to the actual order -.-
This is my new word….colarating.
Yes, same thing if you delete a character the name is reserved for you for 24 hours.
Dragon Festival?!?
:D
Asura 1: What does a sylvari think about?
Asura 2: I’d say no matter what subject, they are astonished and contemplative, wondering and wild.
Asura 1: I was going to make a bad salad joke, but now I don’t feel like it.
I won’t devote any more time to the game until it’s “finished.”
MMOs are never finished, they are continually added to and modified.
But should you ever change your mind just remember, all you have to do is step through the portal and you’re there, in a magical land of glory, victory and triumph.
You might be interested in Guild Missions.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/leah-rivera-on-new-guild-missions/
Speccing mostly fire is what’s known as a glass cannon build. It’s hard to pull off for an inexperienced player as you have to be extremely good at not taking damage.
You can go tankier with your build (bunker build), here’s a good guide – pay special attention to the early leveling section:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/elementalist/Guide-Mastering-the-D-D-ele-3-29-12
You’ll see that learning to dodge effectively and using all your attunements is key as well as using your combo skills. It’s one of the toughest professions to learn but (imo) one of the funnest once you’ve got the hang of it.
Good luck and don’t hesitate to ask if you have questions!
Highfive on the new dungeon!!
/big smiles
Everyone is in the new dungeon today – you should give it a whirl!
Nice – thank you!!
Because testing works SO well, lol.
Killer Quaggan, gimme!
Yet a mere 3 weeks ago…
Hi, only a simple question : has the server capacity been increased again today?
I see many medium servers today. Many THX =)
Due to a number of servers approaching full with a recent influx of new players from the sale on Gw2 that just ended, the server capacity was recently increased for a number of servers yes.
And now all those servers are Very High population. Every single one in the US.
Refreshing post, OP. Don’t get too excited for level 80 though, as the game doesn’t change too much. Being lv 80 just opens up all the content the game has to offer, but there’s no traditional “endgame” per se.
…and that’s what I find appealing. Getting to 80 is just a perk, so to speak. Thanks for your reply!
Same here. I raided for years in another game – completely bored to tears with it now and love the open-ended, non-linear, play-how-you-want-to-play world of GW2.
Yikes! Welcome back (from your mini 1 day “vacation”)
Goods are so badly flooded that it is much cheaper to just sell your equipment and buy new equipment instead of repairing it when it gets damaged.
Not letting that guy balance my checkbook lol.
You are just in time! New patch with new content tomorrow
Out of the 110 listings on the front page of gw2lfg.com there are only 16 asking for warrior.
You are making a problem where one does not exist.
Omg, already? Where did this month go?? I still need to finish my SAB achievements!!!
/runs off with her hair on fire
There are no classes in GW2, the word you want is profession.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Profession
I know this isn’t what you’re looking for but it can be a workaround for identifying inactive players.
https://leaderboards.guildwars2.com/en/na/achievements
If you log in to the leaderboards and filter by your guild, hovering over the achievement points gives you the last date they earned a point.
This only goes back to March 26th however (when the leaderboards were created). If people haven’t earned a point since before then, they won’t show on the list. Since your guild is fairly small, I imagine you could send them an ingame mail to contact you.
Just remember, just because someone hasn’t earned any points doesn’t mean they are not active. Hope that helps!
I love the Angry Joe review where he goes into a game store and the clerk tries to sell him WoW as best the mmo.
That’ll be $60 then sir.
That’’ll be 15 more dollars by the way
Uh 15 more dollars sir
That’ll be fifteen dollars!
15 dollars…
15 dollars!
Fifteen dollars
$15
That’ll be 15 dollars!
(Angry Joe punches out the clerk’s lights)
I don’t rent games.
However, I have purchased a good amount of gems to support ArenaNet, I like that I can show my support when 1) it fits in my budget and 2) I approve of what they are doing with the game.
I’m at 344 currently. I just don my witch’s costume and drop a cauldron near dragon events when people are waiting for the spawn.
Mad King costume is the best for costume brawl, I kick myself everyday for not buying that thing, lol.
There are no factions, unstructured PvP is World vs. World (a HUGE massive battle, 3 servers, lasts a week). You can see the server rankings here:
https://leaderboards.guildwars2.com/en/na/wvw
Or go here to drill down to history of matches between servers:
http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA
Structered PvP (5v5 arena, hot join – like a Battleground in WoW) can be accessed from any server. Player rankings here:

Congrats!!!
I can’t see the video yet either, I’ll check back later
1) Endgame content
Guild Missions (large scale coordinated content)
Fractals (a dungeon which scales to infinity in difficulty)
43 dungeon paths
Skin acquisition/Legendaries
World vs. World
Everything in the game since you are downscaled for content – 3000+ dynamic events
New content released each month
2) Progression
No ilvl requirement for any content, but is easier with better gear.
You need Agony Resist gear for higher level fractals (ascended gear) to survive, but you are not locked out of it. Better players can run with less ascended gear.
Fine < Masterwork < Rare < Exotic < Ascended < Legendary
You will finish leveling with mostly Masterwork & Rare, map completion gets you a few Exotics. Exotic equipment is obtained through dungeon tokens, crafting/farming, karma (xp), etc.
Ascended gear is obtained through Fractals, Dailies, Guild Missions, etc.
Your Legendary is BIS forever.
yes, twice a week T3 as a major guild event for the merits and T1 for people who missed T3 to get their weekly commendations.
We do the same thing. Always running into other guilds on bounty bosses and seeing other guilds asking in map chat if anyone has seen a boss.
They are not soulbound so you can simply sell the stuff you don’t want and use the proceeds to either buy or craft the items you do want. That’s how loot works in this game
Two questions please
1) After the live test will they open it to everyone or will they roll it out in stages?
2) Do they anticipate this will pull people out of WvW?
Lots of misinformation in your post OP.
1) Bounties – Some bosses cannot be pre-scouted. It’s impossible due to their mechanics (such as Sotzz who quickly despawns unless attacked)
2) Rushes – You cannot complete a rush with 2 players since you need at least 15 players to get through to get credit. Also, some of the mobs cannot be cleared (i.e. the Burrowed Wurms in Crab Scuttle)
Killcannon, look up everquest… Look up plane of hate or fear raids, look up any Shadows of luclin raids… Look up Sleepers tomb raids… I could go on, but there is no point. Saying “if theres no party limit” it’s not a raid is silly, this may hold true if your first MMORPG experience is WoW… However games that came long befor WoW had raids that were not instanced.
Iirc, GW1 had both 8 & 12 man dungeons. Since raiding in WoW is mostly 10 man affairs atm, it makes for an interesting discussion “post-WoW” on what exactly constitutes a “raid”.
Does it need to have a certain amount of players? How many?
Does it need to be instanced? Why?
Could it scale to number of participating players? If tuned correctly why not?
As stated, WoW isn’t the only template that the MMO genre should hold itself to. There are more MMOs in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
I personally am still 100% loving Guild wars 2 even with my lvl 80 fully geared out and seeing updates like this really puts a smile on my face. I was just expecting some f/f retribution update but WOW guild banners, new guild missions, a new dungeon, custom arena’s, spectator mode and more WvW abilities. Anet is doing quite a fantastic job at keeping me into guild wars 2!
Big thumbs up, I’m excited!
Nope, love it – wtb more SAB <3
Most likely a 24 hour special for the fan sites. I’m sure it will be all over the official forums tomorrow
True, but how much could it hurt to throw up an official post saying ‘hey, look at what our fan sites are saying’?
That said… QUAGGAN GUILD RUSH!
Because this whole GAME has been built on word of mouth.
And YES to Quaggan Guild Rush! If it’s anything like the crab scuttle one I predict many Quaggan will die that day.
The one thing that does disappoint me is that it seems that community management is rather lacking on the boards. Having devs pop in threads unannounced is pretty awesome, but it wouldn’t hurt to have dedicated CMs waving the pom-poms a little more. I checked the Announcements forum and there wasn’t even a link back to the IGN or Massively articles, I know other game communities where pretty much every favorable article got a link and its own post.
I mean, sure, there’s Twitter and Reddit, but it seems a little self-defeating not to use all the tools at your disposal.
Most likely a 24 hour special for the fan sites. I’m sure it will be all over the official forums tomorrow
I have zero issues with earning gold.
Spending it however is a whoooole ’nother story
I just play whatever I feel like playing that day and I get drops from everywhere. I hate farming with a bloody passion (think that is the most boring way to play MMOs) and I really enjoy that there are so many ways to make gold in this game.
This is going to be amazing!
Progression is a weak illusion propagandized by subscription fee games where you don’t actually progress, your gear does. You don’t get better, you get better gear.
That type of subscription model gates that gear behind horrifically teensy drop rates on ginormous loot tables which is further gated behind reputation or daily grinds.
It’s an awful way to play an MMO. Boring as sin.
