‘sniffsniff’ i smell sarcasm
Incorrect Crovax, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Fun, challenging and interesting.
One of the best dungeons they’ve put out yet
Hit a home run with this one – ty!
Absolutely – best MMO on the market!
Very cool feature, we’ve been asking for this for awhile.
Thanks ArenaNet!
I think Guild Missions are more like raiding, in fact I will go so far as to say they offer a superior experience over raiding.
World bosses – most of them are on a LFR difficulty level, with the exception of the corrupted god temples in Orr of course. Those are tough!
You cannot sell legendry weapons to vendors. Support doesn’t fix accidents by the player.
Check your bank.
Well look at that. I just tried and it’s true. Legendary weapons cannot be vendored.
Ouch.
But I have to ask – it’s purple, probably the only purple item in your bags, how did you accidentally sell it?
Massive patch incoming tomorrow!

- Please remove any bloodsoaked or excessively dirty armor before entering.
- The hot tub may be closed and cleared periodically for a safety check or to apply chemicals. This is a good time to head to the outhouse while our staff adjusts chemicals to ensure proper sanitation of the water/lava/fire whatever it is.
- Running, boisterous or rough play, pushing, acrobatics, dunking, wrestling, dragon balling, splashing, yelling, diving or jumping without care or caution, snapping of towels and improper conduct are highly encouraged.
- Cartwheels, handstands, flips and other such gymnastic activities off the dragon’s head into the hot tub should be done at your own risk. The denizens of the hot tub may be too bemused or befuddled to revive you.
- Releasing Jars of Bees is strictly prohibited.
- Please leave valuables at home. Lost and Found will be disposed of weekly in accordance with Lion’s Arch Council protocol. This week we have collected various Elixir of Heroes, Deionizing Arcanodusters, Diving Goggles, Bottles of Rum, a Wild Young Crab, a Keg of Abbey Ale and for some reason a Cattle Prod.
- Keep watch for some of our shorter citizens sitting in the water and pick them up periodically so they can catch a breath of air.
- If Charr are actively shedding they must be brushed before entering. If the filter clogs, the Mystic Hot Tub could blow sky high!
Dulfy is the original Sky Pirate <3
I love the medium female armor
You can sell something without incurring the listing fee if you find the highest bid attractive. Just list it for 1c higher than the vendor price of the item.
This will automatically sell it to the highest bidder. You would receive the amount of the highest bid less the 10% transaction fee and occur no 5% list fee.
For a quick overview of what was added while you were gone, see the release splash page.

You might want to join a guild – oh, and welcome back to the party!
It tells you right on the purchase tab that the equipment is Soulbound on Acquire.
Actually that portal stone is available to all players
From what I know you need to own GW1 and have Eye of the north campaign finished. If I’m wrong then please tell me how to get a portal stone there :P
Karma vendor in this cave in NW Lion’s Arch. No cost. Available to all players.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Hooligan%27s_Route_map.png
I never played GW1 yet I can go to Hall of Monuments. It’s empty of course except for Kimmes who has nothing for me.
I use it for discounted travel to northern zones.
No place can best the Hall of Monuments, maybe one day a Guild Hall…
Ahh…. the HoM… best place to relax away from the crowds, try armor mixes, dyes and stuff, completely lagg-less, accessible only by you, at any time, provided you have the portal stone in your inventory (only available to GW1 players…
Actually that portal stone is available to all players
In the smuggler’s cave NW Lion’s Arch. Completely free from a karma vendor there. Great for cheap travel to northern zones.
If I’m feeling in a meditative mood and want get away from the madding crowds, I head over to Scavenger’s Chasm in Malchor’s Leap. It’s one of the more difficult jumping puzzles so there’s rarely anyone there.
So beautiful in such an eerie way, the ancient runes carved into the stone, the sound of the waterfalls, trickles and streams carving out the oubliettes, distant sounds of bombing and bird cries.
GW2:
Most fun.
Best community.
Brilliant innovative design.
Devs willing to experiment, constantly trying new concepts and ideas.
The sheer amount of content that flows out is staggering.
This game is on the bleeding edge of MMO design, all others look tired and dated compared to it. Everyone should play it, the devs are listening!
Can’t go back to those old MMOs any more. Trying another one for even 10 minutes makes you appreciate this one all the more <3
A relatively big balance patch is supposed to be coming in a couple of days too.
I think a lot of this was fueled by the addition of spectator mode and beta custom arenas.
sPvP has really taken off with tournaments, we are seeing everything from say an all elementalist team going against an all guardian team and everything you can imagine inbetween.
This next patch be the biggest balancing patch ever, it also opens custom arenas to everyone.
You can see what you missed and what has changed since you left here:

For. There is a ruby colored gem in the handle of my scepter that I dearly would love to change.
I did hear a rumor recently that weapon dyes are coming, there was a dev discussion in game with players on TC within the last week or two and this was a topic that one of the players raised that a dev confirmed is being worked on.
Aw, I just tried it.
Probably something to do with the trumpet falling in the somewhere inbetween land of town and combat clothing.
Hope they can find a workaround for it
One thing you can do in this game that’s pretty neat is try out the profession at max level before you level it.
Take a brand new character into the Heart of the Mists (crossed sword icon). There you will be upscaled to 80 with all your abilities & traits and have free access to all gear/stats/sigils/runes/weapons/etc. Practice on the target golems or other target foes, even jump into a hot join match to test against other players if you like.
When you’re done, leave the mists through the asura gate to Lion’s Arch where you will be returned to your regular level/gear/abilities.
It’s a great way to test out new builds or see if you like the way a profession plays before you level it
Think of the hearts like bread crumb quests. They lead you into an area but it’s the dynamic events that unfold there that are the real meat of the game.
There are only ~300 hearts in the entire game – there is over 1500 dynamic events. So when you see an NPC running up waving his arms and asking for help, or another one politely requesting your assistance, pay heed. They are not there simply for decoration or flavor
Also many of the events chain, with another event branching off the one you just completed. A good clue is any named NPCs are worth paying attention to.
Be on the lookout for meta events – these occur periodically within certain timelines when certain events have been completed. Great xp and loot from these, people often call out events and meta events in mapchat.
Like it or not, WoW is still the most popular MMORPG of the planet.
WoW would need to gain 12 million subs to even touch Age of Wushu. It never has been the most popular on the planet, never will be.
I really like the female medium set
I highly doubt finding these 12 locations would reward a precursor.
Just look at Guild Treks – 186 locations which were discovered almost immediately and posted on dulfy.net.
I think a scavenger hunt probably isn’t the best way to go since as soon as it’s solved, everyone would just run through it.
This pretty much tells the story of these forums:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ng_-HgRfGBY
I think the most wackadoodle post I saw was this player who told a story about getting his sisters to buy the game by showing them some prelaunch concept art of some NPCs. They were so taken with the outfits the NPCs wore that they spent months planning what they were going to wear and poring over dyes, they even went out and bought fabric and created the outfits IRL (handstitched of course) and then when the game launched and those outfits weren’t available to players their dreams were dashed, their hopes destroyed, their hearts broken and of course they don’t play the game any more and now ANet is the devil and they were going to post on every fan forum to destroy the game and the whole time I’m reading it I’m like bwuh?

My favorite game <3
ArenaNet has announced the next Guild Wars 2 content update. Called “Sky Pirates of Tyria”, the new content will bring more additions to the Living Story, a new dungeon, new quests, and the news that custom arenas and spectator mode will be entering the live game. Sky Pirates of Tyria is expected to go live on June 25th.
Details of the update include:
- New Story Dungeon: Aetherblade Retreat – Find the hidden entrance to the Aetherblade base and take the fight to the pirates. It’ll take skill, courage, and no small measure of agility to battle through to the Aetherblade Captain and First Mate.
- Sea of Sorrows Scavenger Hunt – In this new, permanent content, players search for clues to the locations of 12 plaques that have been set up to honor the history of the city and its founder, in the novel Sea of Sorrows by our very own Ree Soesbee, narrative designer, ArenaNet, hitting store shelves and Amazon on Tuesday, June 25.
- New Rewards – A variety of new rewards are available, including Aetherblade caches, a First Mate Horrik miniature companion, a stylish monocle and more.
- Skill and Trait Balance Update – The largest balance patch ever is being introduced in this build, which includes significant updates to traits and skills to introduce more viable build diversity. Every profession trait line is seeing changes. Updates also have been made to some less popular skills to improve their effectiveness.
- Custom Arenas and Spectator Mode leaves Beta – Custom PvP arenas allow players to host private matches, and customize their map settings. This feature is leaving beta, which means that Custom Arena Starter Kits will be available for anyone to purchase in the Gem Store. Spectator Mode also is officially out of beta. Together, these two features allow for practice, competitive play and tournaments.
- Mortar Mastery Joins the Growing List of World vs. World Abilities – Players can increase their mortar effectiveness by training in Mortar Mastery. Improvements in this line include increasing mortar blast radius, beefing up on damage, reducing skill recharge, and even adding a new skill, Mortar Barrage.
Mini dragon pinata – make it happen!
Concept art for Marjory from Marjory’s Story: The Last Straw, part 1

Ok, thank you folks.
Yeah, Hebee, that’s exactly why I was curious. I might be out somewhere, decide I’m going to make myself a pair of Exotic pants with magic find. Then I ask myself, “Self, how many claws do you need/have to make that?”, while I’m out standing around among things that would drop said claws.
I suppose I could pop into WvW to check the bank, but how many friends would that make me if they found out that was the only reason I was there?
You can open your Hero Pane, select the crafting tab and look at the recipe. It shows how many claws you need and shows how many you have total (including what’s in your bank).
That film noir cutscene with Marjory was really great! I tried to repeat it immediately and was disappointed that it did not play again. :P
What affects mobs aggro tables (for the most part) in guildwars, in order of importantance.
1.closest target to them
2.who is dealing damage
3.top damage dealers
4.who is using a shield / has more toughness and overall armor
And sometimes they are just vicious beasts that go after downed players or those rezzing a downed player.
Toughness just gives you a bit more survivability if you are having trouble dodging, kiting or LoSing their attack. Watch for the monster’s attack animation, they always have a “tell”.
Yeah, if this game had a sub, I’d have been gone months ago. It’s fun, but not sub-worthy.
No game is worth a sub. Subs are rip offs.
In no particular order:
Fluid gameplay
Non-linear style with sandboxy elements
Friends, guildies, realmies, best MMO community I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing with.
EB JP
Fractals
And the simply gorgeous open world.
So far I’ve gotten from the forge:
2 Venom
The Chosen
Chaos Gun
Spark
Rodgort’s Flame
The Energizer
Sold them all except for Spark which I used to make Incinerator.
I need the notes so I can play this!
When it says dequip after one hour of usage, does that mean it disappears or what?
Just goes back in your bags. It’s a permanent item.
Loving the horn, the cast and interrupt gives a smoother note transistion and more control than the bell. Happy gamer here!
Gemstore skins are not endgame. They are just for looking cool while you do endgame
Personally I think there are much better looking skins in the game than on the gemstore. Certainly looks that showcase your accomplishments and carry much more prestige.
My look:
Crafted, drop, cultural, dungeon, legendary, order. No gem store items.
800 coffers, 2 tickets, scads of minis.
If you think that GW2 killed WoW, you are sadly mistaken. WoW is wildly popular still, despite losing customers.
The only thing that will kill WoW is WoW.
Or possibly Project Titan…(whatever that turns out to be).
Neither game is going to “kill” the other, they both have their loyal fans and players that enjoy those playstyles.
But a big difference is 2 million people playing across 50 realms vs 2 million people playing across 500 realms. GW2 feels more lively since it’s not trying to support 450 dead realms.
Depends what will be actually released in upcoming 6 months.
So far the competitors are so bad that Gw2, even with all its flaws, it’s prolly best option on the market atm.
(imo). But yeah, just let WildStar or Archeage get out and things will change, and fast.
Just two names soon to be sent into oblivion like so many before them…
Until recently we had wow-killers jumping around every corner. Recently every new game that is announced will be better than GW2, sounds familiar? Has world given up on killing wow finnaly?
Um not to burst your bubble, but this game is a small niche like every other game that isn’t WoW. It sucks, but it’s the truth. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to see that there aren’t 3 million people logging into this game, even if they bought it… Maybe 1/3rd of that actually play.
A cool mill is a lot better than most other MMO’s though! And I have never heard of anyone mention “a gw2 killer” because there is no need too, it’s not big enough to want to kill, no matter how much we want to it to grow and succeed
’
Basically my point is, every company is still looking for the WoW killer. GW2 has come the closest so far in even beginning to dream of the same level of success. I use the term success loosely because I hate what WoW has become.
MoP was in the $5 discount bin a month after they released it and subscriptions in the west are down by half from the launch of this last expac. News from China is dire with Age of Wushu picking up 20 million subs and even their CEO told shareholders they will be losing more by the end of the year.
GW2 will be launching in China soon. Right now I think more people in the west play GW2 than play WoW.
Pweez? I love it so much <3
