You also need to remember that the accounts spamming the chat and messaging system with gold adverts, are the same accounts that have been hacked.
Anet recently announced that they were going to force all passwords to be changed, and all current passwords would be added to a database combined with all the passwords that are being tested by hackers. New passwords could not be picked that match a password listed in the database.
That forces everyone to use a new stronger password, and if it works as they hope, then once the hacked players have their accounts back, the gold sellers will have to spam us using their own bought and paid for accounts.

GW1 only let you change your ‘secondary’ profession (the one you picked at the end of the tutorial).

You’re not along in suggesting this (points down a few threads)

Table Warfare Miniatures - Armatures, Custom Miniatures, Moulds etc.
There are threads in the Account Issues forums where players have been automatically suspended by the game because they have been playing in a way that makes them ‘seem’ to be bots, so the technology to auto-suspend is there.
Effectively giving ‘players’ the power to suspend an account could lead to major issues though, especially as it takes so long for an account to get unbanned. I could see ways of the system being abused tactically.
I think the idea has some merit, but I’d hate to see it in place before customer services have had the time to get through the huge backlog of account tickets.

What I’ve been doing as a workaround is open the bug report form as close as possible to the correct location, then run / fight my way out of there (with the bug report window open, covering half my screen), so I can write the report somewhere quiet, and hope that when I press “submit” it sends the location and data from where it was opened. But it’s an awkward work-around that might not even work.
It could well have changed since the BWE’s, but during the temporary opening of these forums during one of the BWE’s, I recall reading a thread asking about whether location was sent with the report. The official response was that the location data was taken when the report window was opened (as you hoped) rather than when the form is submitted. It could have changed though, although that would be odd.
Table Warfare Miniatures - Armatures, Custom Miniatures, Moulds etc.
I’ve read an ANET post on these boards somewhere recently, stating that the buy orders below the vendor price are the result of a bug, and should not be possible.
I’m also pretty sure that the price floor didn’t exist during the early BWE’s, and has been added in response to early feedback.

Have you tried doing what the error tells you to do, and running the client in repair mode?
e.g.
My client is stored at O:\GuildWars2\. To run the game I double-click the GW2.exe application in that folder.
To run the game in repair mode, I create a shortcut in my GuildWars2 folder that points to a target of :
“O:\GuildWars2\Gw2.exe” -repair
The speach-marks (") are important.
I then run the shortcut and it repairs the GW2 datafiles.

Some DE’s require someone to actually initiate them by speaking to a specific NPC. Earlier when all zones were so full they went to overflows, there were more people interacting with NPC’s and triggering DE’s. This lack of triggering, combined with some DE’s being bugged makes it ‘seem’ like there are less. The game is still new, I’m sure that over time people will work out how to trigger every single DE, and when that happens a quick trip to the wiki will help.

In GW1 I never actually used my pet with my ranger.
I’ve actually grown used to having it in GW2, but there are definitely situations where the pet becoming un-stowed is irritating.
Generally if I’ve stowed my pet it’s because the pet is hindering my ability to do something ‘precise’ and I want it out of the way. I’d definitely like an option to stow my pet for longer.
When stowed, the three pet options vanish, the space could be used to give 3 variations of stowed. e.g.
F1 – Return if I take any damage
F2 – Return if I am at 50% health
F3 – Return only if called

I am sure ArenaNet won’t mind if you are not stood on the exact spot the issue occurred.
As I understand it, when you open a bug report window, ANET get information about your location sent with the report. If you move somewhere else and then open the window, they will get info about a different location. In ‘some’ cases this will be less helpful. You also might not be able to include useful screen shots when reporting from somewhere else

During play you are going to find Piles of Dust, Vials of Blood, Venom Sacs and Fangs. Your guides completely ignore these crafting materials.
There are also 3 whole ranges of insignias/inscriptions being ignored, as every guide ignores Vials of Blood, Venom Sacs and Fangs. Depending on the zone you are levelling in, you might find that these drop more frequently that Totems, Bone, Claws or Scales. Ignoring them from the guide makes it seem like they can’t help levelling up a profession, and actually those three materials can be used to make the weapons with stats that people want.
Blood = Power + Precision
Venom = Condition + Precision
Fangs = Power + Critical Damage (after level 75)
Your guides (using weaponsmith as example) don’t convey the basic understanding of what your trying to teach.
You’re saying that 0-75 you have to create 4x Axes, 4x Maces, 8x Hammers, 8x Spears and that would be the most efficient. Although 6x Axes, 6x Maces, 6x Hammers and 6x Spears would be just as efficient discovery-wise, and 8x Axes, 8x Maces, 4x Hammers, 4x Spears would be equally good from a discovery point of view and actually require less wood. In fact, based on the numbers you’ve use next phase of the guide, 6,6,6,6 is what NEEDs to be made to avoid duplication.
Like-wise you are confusing the process, saying you have to create inscriptions using
12x Bone (phase 1)
12x Claws (phase 1)
12x Totems (phase 1)
12x Scales (phase 1)
You could just as easily use the following and create the same number of weapons and achieve the same discovery experience.
6x Bone (phase 1)
6x Claws (phase 1)
6x Totems (phase 1)
6x Scales (phase 1)
12x Blood (phase 1)
12x Venom (phase 1)
All that is actually needed are multiples of 3x materials, maximum of 4(12) to go with the 4 weapon types being created. Finding those 48 drops is much easier if you understand why you are collecting them, and that there are 7 possibilities, rather than just 4.
The guide is good, but could be SO much better if it didn’t neglect almost half of the possibilities for the process.
In addition… Weaponsmith (for example) can also gain experience by combining Piles of Dust (which will no doubt be found in abundance in some areas) with Ingots and create sharpening stone consumables. This gives discovery experience too, and could replace the need for one of the discoveries in each phase.
Table Warfare Miniatures - Armatures, Custom Miniatures, Moulds etc.
Small Venom Sac (according to it’s wiki page) is only used in 2 Armorsmith recipes : ‘Ravaging Wool Insignia’ and ‘Ravaging Embroidered Wool Insignia’. Once you’ve made those two recipes there is nothing more to discover from it.

If you think items are being sold at 30% less that the price they ‘should’ be sold at, buy them and re-list them at the higher price. It’s only a gamble if you’re wrong about what they are worth.

Thanks. Not sure why they needed removing from the upgrades tab at the gem store, but it’s good to know they are still available
Table Warfare Miniatures - Armatures, Custom Miniatures, Moulds etc.
In the Gem Store, under ‘upgrades’ I have the ‘Character Slot Expansion’ and the ‘Digital Deluxe Upgrade’.
Memories from the Beta Weekends, combined with reading recent threads here, suggests that there ought to also be upgrade options for bank tabs and inventory bag slots.
Have they been removed, or is my account just bugged and cant see them?

I have a couple of questions relating to this recent article.
1. Will ALL passwords be required to be changed, even if they have not come up in the database of passwords being checked? This seems a little extreme to force people to get rid of passwords that are not compromised, and it means adding perfectly good passwords to a dataset of compromised passwords, ruining the usefulness of the dataset you have created.
2. My Guild Wars 2 username and password are the same as my Guild Wars 1 username and password due to account linking. Will changing my password effect both games, or are the accounts now fully seperated?
3. When we are forced to change our password, could you create a form that automatically checks the password against the database of compromised passwords, ‘before’ submitting (AJAX-style). That way we could use the database you have collected to quickly cycle through weaker passwords we might use elsewhere and quickly see if they flag up as compromised.

I really don’t understand why so many people are calling playing the game, grinding. What exactly are you going to do ‘after’ getting the Legendaries if you consider everything to be just grind.
How about, instead of rushing around the game to get 100% world completion, you take your time, experience ALL the dynamic events GW2 has to offer and see what’s left to be collected afterwards. If you’ve experience every single thing the game has to offer and need to do the whole lot several times, then you can call it ‘grind’. But until you’ve experienced everything the game has to offer it’s called ‘playing’.
Table Warfare Miniatures - Armatures, Custom Miniatures, Moulds etc.
Other than the developer at ANET, nobody actually knows the answer to this question. The obvious ‘level up another character and get 100% exploration’ is also a guess as far as I’m aware. I’ve not actually seen anybody post about having done it, and confirming you get the gifts again. Nobody’s crafted 1 legendary yet, let alone 2.

You should definitely send a bug report, this post will be buried 12 pages deep in 24 hours and it might take a while to spot. Make sure you’re clear with the bug report title. e.g. “Monthly rewards awarded to me every day” ought to get attention. It might even be worth editing your thread title on the forums too.
At a glance at the current title, I might assume this thread is another thread complaining that experience survivor resets when you log out or change instances. That’s the biggest reported ‘monthly achievement’ problem that happens over and over again.
If you have reported a bug and posted a thread, they ought to not ban you for ‘exploiting’ it. It’s not as if you have any control over the fact your monthly seems to award every day.
Table Warfare Miniatures - Armatures, Custom Miniatures, Moulds etc.
The only way to level up a craft is to have the materials required for the craft you want to level up.
I assume you banked all the low level drops (blood, scales etc?) If so I’d personally suggest you go round the low level zones collecting resources and using a low end salvage kit on weapon and armour drops. It wont take ‘that’ long to catch up.
You’ve ‘got’ to either collect the bits you need through play, or buy them. The only other way would be to ask your guild mates. Unless of course there is a mystic forge recipe to create low level materials from high level materials.

The Ogre Assault : Help Lieutenant Fynn and Kor the Warcaller’s assault on the Behemian Grand Kraal.

Ever increasing number of bugged DE’s
Over the last couple of days I’ve started to notice an increased number of bugged DE’s on the Gate of Madness server.
I found 3 yesturday while running around Fields of Ruin, and have so far found 2 today, one in Gendarren Fields, the other in Fields of Ruin.
I thought it worth creating a thread to note down the bugged DE’s I’ve found. I’ve just ran around and confirmed that all are still bugged today.
Fields of Ruin could do with a reset or something on the Gate of Madness server as it now has 4 bugged DE’s.
Fields of Ruin (Gate of Madness)
[Group Event] Draw out and defeat the giant Branded griffon.
This event requires collecting bonfire wood from a pack mule, and taking it to a bonefire location. The collection bar is around 95% complete and no more wood can be taken to the pile. When you get close to the pile carrying some wood, you automatically put the wood down, and the bar does not update.
Fields of Ruin (Gate of Madness)
Rescue the villagers and defeat harpy kidnappers
This event is stuck with 1 remaining captive villager. He is hiding within the harpy area and will not move until the harpys are gone. Even clearing the entire area of harpys doesn’t help him move on.
Fields of Ruin (Gate of Madness)
Ogre Wars : Defend Sappers’ Delve from ogres.
This event is stuck on stage 7/8. The idea is to defeat the ogre waves but the last wave is not attacking the Sapper’s Delve location. Instead, an invincible veteran called ‘Ventof the Bloodletter’ is hanging around near ‘Forlorn Gate Waypoint’. There doesn’t seem to be a way to draw him to the event area, and it can be very difficult to escape it he starts smashing you up against a wall repeatedly.
Fields of Ruin (Gate of Madness)
Help Nia rescue Cymbel’s hounds.
Nia is with all three hounds and is just stationary, rather than trying to escape with the dogs now they’ve been found
Gendarren Fields (Gate of Madness)
Unsure what the DE is called. A group of pirates turns up to dig for buried treasure and need to be killed within a time limit. Currently all the pirates are stood on the beach invulnerable, and the DE is not active.

You can leave the crafting materials in your bank. But it’s not crafting materials that ‘generally’ get used for discoveries, its the items that you make ‘using’ the crafting materials. Those initial items don’t need discovering because they unlock automatically.
For Example. If you’re a weaponsmith you’ll use your crafting materials to create an inscription, and the two parts of the weapon you wish to discover (e.g. a hilt and blade). The inscription and weapon parts are automatically added to the production pane when you reach the appropriate level (no discovery required) so you need to create them before they will show anything much in the discovery pane.

Also, if the chat was global between every guild you’re part of, trust me, it would be pure chaos (considering guilds tend to have 200+ members)
The most obvious way to do it would be for /guild to chat with the guild you are representing, and to also have a different channel for each individual guild you are a member of, and also a slightly different colour. Merging all guilds you’re a member of into the /guild channel would make things more confusing, as you’d not know which guild was messaging you.

I just finished a mission and was rewarded with a `Hearty Back Brace` with an unused upgrade slot.
As far as I can make out the upgrade slot doesn’t work with any of the usual upgrade. I cannot use armor runes to upgrade it, I cannot use gemstones (low or high level) to upgrade it, and I cannot use intricate jewels as upgrades either.
I’m not really sure what’s left other than to determine that the upgrade slot doesn’t seem to be upgradable.

I created a signature earlier and then decided to add an additional link to include my GW2 guild.
I noticed that the signature in my posts didn’t seem to change after I moved some content out of link text. I assumed that there was something in my signature that wasn’t allowed, edited it back down to short links without descriptions, and then spotted that my signature was now showing the full previous version (with descriptions). So I reverted back.
I was wondering, is the delay down to a background process of authenticating signature changes? or just a replication delay between changing a profile and it updating on the forum?

If a Guild Leader only wants player in the guild that represent, then all they need to do is boot members that don’t. If members are not representing your guild now, then forcing them to pick 1 guild is going to be no different from booting them. If they don’t represent you, they wont join you in a single guild environment.
I personally like the idea of being able to represent multiple guilds, it adds an element to the game that lets you interact with multiple groups, rather than just limiting you to one.
I do agree with the idea of having some way to chat with all guild members regardless of whether or not they are representing though. The inability to chat with non-representing members doesn’t really fit with the idea of having multiple guilds.
It might not be good for a guild with the shortname ‘MAP’ (or anything else that’s currently already a chat shortcut), and wouldn’t mix with the ability to have multiple guilds with the same acronym. But being able to type /AoA and open a channel to speak to members of AoA (representing or not) would be pretty awesome

If the reset currently occurs at 8pm EST that’s midnight UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), which is the international standard time used for most internet standards.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time
As long as the time reset occurs at the same time every day, then it should have no impact on regular play at all. If it falls somewhere in the middle of your normal play it just means you’ll get the daily rewards earlier in the process, after finishing what you started the day before.
It actually could give you an advantage to have the timer reset half-way through your daily play. If you wish to play every other day (or know you cant log in the next day), you could log in, do enough to get the daily, wait for the reset, do enough to get the next daily, log out.
Table Warfare Miniatures - Armatures, Custom Miniatures, Moulds etc.
I’m pretty sure that crafting isn’t bugged just some of your understanding of it. You do not need the ‘discovery’ tab in order to craft. The tab is only for discovering new recipes not for crafting recipes that you already know. To craft items you already know you use the ‘production’ pane.
Dragonz was right in that items disapear when you’ve made them all, and that red items were items that still had discoveries available but you were under levelled. I think the issues is that you’re expecting more use from each item than you actually get. Once you go up a tier, the items are no longer used and ‘similar’ items take thier place.
Going through the bug ‘examples’.
Artificing, things disapearing at 75 ish were because at 75 you change to a different set of ingredients. You stop using ‘green wood’ and move on to ‘soft wood’. All of the inscriptions previously made using green wood dowels and bronze plated dowels are irrelevent for the new discoveries. Those new discoveries use inscriptions made from soft wood dowels and iron plated dowels. Instead of combining with tiny totem, tiny scale, bone chip etc. you combine with small totem, small scale, bone shard etc.
Basically, once you’ve created the healing green inscription, the malign, mighty, precise, resilient and vital green inspcriptions, all of the previous components e.g. tiny venom sacs, vial of weak blood, the dowells etc will stop showing in the discovery pane. Once you’ve created a (in the case of artifacing) focus, scepter, staff and trident with each inscription there is nothing more to be discovered, and the inscription will vanish.
Moving on to Piles of Glittering Dust disapearing at level 50 jewellry. At level 50 jewlery you automatically learn the recipes for transmogrifying gemstones using glittering dust. At that point there is nothing new to learn so it vanishes. The next level of transmogrification is unlocked at level 125 and uses a pile of “shimmering” dust. These are added to the ‘production’ pane.
The same sort of examples is true for all the ‘issues’ being reported. Each item is generally only used for a small amount of ‘discoveries’ and then is no longer listed on the discovery pane.
TL:DR
Each level of crafting uses a different tier of components. e.g green wood dowels->soft woods dowels, small fangs->tiny fangs etc.
Once everything that can be discovered with an item has been crafted (or automatically added to the production pane), the items are no longer on the discovery pane.
The discovery pane is NOT the main screen for crafting. That is the ‘production’ pane, and new recipes are added as you level up without you having to discover them.
If ALL your items are not showing on the discovery pane, it’s time to start playing in a slightly harder zone to get drops of the next tier of items.
Still TL:DR
Use the production pane too!

I posted a similar thread an hour or so before this one went up. The recent patch didn’t fix anything, in fact I’m pretty sure that – at least with my Murrellow – the F2 skills worked better a couple of days ago.
Table Warfare Miniatures - Armatures, Custom Miniatures, Moulds etc.
For the last couple of days I’ve noticed that when I press F2 to trigger my pet Murellow’s ‘Poison Cloud’ attack that it often does nothing. There doesn’t seem to be any obvious reason for the failure, the pet just keeps fighting away using standard skills, ignoring my request to use the special attack.
I could understand if the skill needed to wait a little while due to there being another skill going on when I click F2, but it’s not queueing the request either. There have been a few times where I’ve pressed F2 several times, and nothing has happened at all.
I could also understand if the skill was ‘easily interuptable’. But nothing says that’s the case, and no alert is created letting me know that’s what’s happening. If the fact is the skill ‘is’ easy to interupt, then it’s far to easy to interupt now. I rarely actually see the skill trigger anymore.
