Having the protection boon yes, HAVING 90%+ UPTIME of 40% DMG redux no.
Not saying make it like 1 second or something terrible.. but 3 sec base is CLEARLY too much.

Slight difference between using prot when you expect burst (old DD 33%prot) vs brainlessly having permanent 40% dmg reduction the entire team fight.

I could understand not being able to share it with the team but core ele would really suffer if the duration were reduced as it can’t keep it up like tempest
Of course then you would have to take boon sharing from all the other classes as well…. you see how this is going right?

The top-3 builds are maybe still a bit too strong (power-rev, clerics ele and condi-mesmer) but the rest got much more closer together. Srsly: If they tone down the top-3 builds a bit, it might be the closest balance between classes yet.

There have been times with better balance than during other times. It will never be perfect, but the meta we have at the moment is really far from being perfect or even “good”.

yes but my point is they always miss the most obvious solution. even if it slaps them across the face and we cry about it on the forums for a year.

Fireball damage was one of the last thing I expected.

I would have expected instant first tick of Lava Font, Cooldown reduction of lightning surge, damage increase on Ice Spike and/or Eruption, damage increase on shockwave. But no, fireball.

Well, you got your scepter buffs, good ones. I don’t agree with the 17% buff on staff fireball, it will only promote fire camping.

Highest damage is fire so it’s camped regardless

Currently we take 2 defensive trait lines earth/water and a Def rune soldiers just to deal with condi pressure after that it’s just a matter of amulet choice.
My suggestion would just be remove the “on hit” from DS so it opens up possibilities for an offensive trait line.
Maybe some love for scepter auto

Where are those last minute plays that win/ lose the match?

I’ve had about 100x more of these this season than last. Last season it took 5 mins to cap anything.

I only had a few the rest were complete blow out matches. But that’s just my experience

I’m fine with it, if someone wants to play a bunker build, let them.

It’s PvP, that means it’s on YOU to adapt to your opponent to find ways to overcome.

I know a lot of people disliked the bunkers in season one but winning/ losing games by 400 points isn’t fun either. Where are those last minute plays that win/ lose the match? I would rather deal with bunkers and have a close fun match than not and have these blow out matches

I actually like bunkers, it feels more satisfying killing a bunker than killing something that dies in 2 seconds.

I’m of the same mind but I think we are in the minority on this

before this meta i had an alt who i used to play perma earth attunement for stoneheart
and i used bleeds and burns, signets gave a pretty decent spike (back then)
it wasn’t the best build back then but it could beat most things 1v1

power creep has left it behind however, i doubt it would work.

I used same or close to the same build but with trait that gave fire aura on activation removed it doesn’t work

None of your changes will make the game better.

You’re turning guardian into an unkillable tank that also manages to full heal every second and deals massive damage to enemies through either power or conditions and also applies every boon in the game all the time.

Did you stop to read the math behind these suggestions?

I am purposing that the guardian will be just short (100-200k) of what ele and druid do in a match (in healing). Other classes (like ranger and rev) already have perma 33% Dr. So what are you basing these conclusions on?

Your comparison is ele using clerics with heal bot build while guardian is using marauders

Clerics with soldiers and signet of earth is 3218 armor with 2330 toughness while in earth and 3068 armor outside of earth with 2180 toughness. That is according to my pvp build panel. Also if you did a control on it you could have triggered eye of the storm which can hit you with weakness or any of the shouts actually

You have amazing toughness and armor stats, but at what cost? Were that you had 20k HP to go along with that. I’d hope you are removing condi faster than necros and their minions are stacking on you. I use the sigil of purity to help me with that.

I use magi amulet and rune of earth for my auramancer and I have 20k HP and roughly 1505 toughness and 2393 armor. It’s the best I’ve come up with so far to balance vitality and toughness. I was using rune of radiance which gives about 2k more HP, but drops your toughness.

So far, I’m happy with it. I can’t stand long when I’m being focused down, but it will take 3 or more players to get me. I couldn’t hurt a fly though. I keep hitting anyway to trigger the purity sigil as often as possible.

I’m sorry I went off topic. I was intrigued by the post I quoted.

Only 13k hp, damage is laughable, and condi clear is ok with soldiers but not enough to keep up with what’s being constantly applied. Just there to support with heals really. Tried to find a good damage spec but just couldn’t find one

Ele’s are pretty squishy imo especially after all the nerfs they did. Trust me if your whole team hits an ele all at the same time it will die. They are pretty vulnerable to conditions so maybe try a condition build with some stun daze knock back etc.

You consider that balanced? I would certainly hope that any class would die fast if they got 1v5.

The problem with ele is that it is too easy to stay alive in a 1v2 or 1v3 scenario. It has too much sustain.

Why wouldn’t it have a lot of sustain when it gave up everything else to get that sustain? BTW rev mes and reaper are good at killing heal bot ele. That being said what’s goin on in the pick idk as that is not the normal case

Don’t get me wrong I’m not advocating for healer ele it’s just after ammy removals and balance our sustain is our main strength too many more nerfs and we won’t have anything worth taking on a team. I’m really hoping this next patch we get some more offense

Dps build are played now rev, mes, reaper, scrapper, I’ve even seen quite a few warriors that were good. They can afford to go dps because they have ele supporting them. In essence it should offer more space for dps builds as it provides a safety net for their weaknesses. BTW most of those warriors were teamed up with an ele for that reason and it worked really well for them

At the moment with my guardian burn build, I do 5-6k Ticks. However, that being said there is a huge disadvantage being played here. Necros do way more damage. Think of it like this.

Burning is an alpha strike that can be cleansed (if your fast enough).

So because necro puts out more condi pressure the answer is God mode for guardian? They are also a light armor class, slow, not great at healing and vulnerable to focus fire. Using one classes strengths while completely ignoring their weaknesses doesn’t justify a complete overpower of your favorite class.

Stop kidding yourself, you’re still in ruby. You just posted 3 days ago you’re stuck in MMR hell. If you want to make a point, don’t present it along with BS. And no, revenant is hardly a liability. Even a bad rev will bring more to a team, than a bad thief or bad warrior.

That’s only because thief and warrior are in terrible state. And if the vocal minority gets the revenant nerfed, the rev will be in the same spot, e.g. totally useless.

Fact of the matter is, rev is countering certain builds. Without revs those builds will run rampant because it’s really hard for the thief and war to deal with the said builds.

Last summer before the nerf, the times when thieves were strong, they kept condi builds in check and they didnt run rampant because they got blown up to shreds and people were stacking more toughness and vitality as a result.

It got nerfed, hard and look at the sorry state of the pvp now. Bunch of aoe condi plebs that do nothing but kite and apply and reapply conditions while having high toughness vitality and power (im looking at you mercenary amulet) and no counter stat to condi damage in any viable power amulet.

I would guess the old DS ele had just as much to do with keeping condi builds in check

Either way if you are meaning the cancellation of leg weapons or something similar my reply would be:

I would not class that as a lie. More like a plan that was changed. I could give another simple example. Say I say to someone one day “I plan to take my white car to work tomorrow” Right so that is my plan and I do intend to go through with it. Now let’s say I turn up to work and my friend sees me drive in in my black car. Now he may think to himself “wow what a liar”. Yet, was it really a lie? It could be my white car broke down, was stolen or maybe I had to take the kids to school on the way to work and the white car is simply not big enough. Newsflash, the plan changed for whatever reason.

Plans change, things happen – Plans that were INTENDED to go through but that are cancelled for whatever reason can then simply not be called a lie. Well that’s my logic anyway. :P

Depends did you ask your friend for money in exchange for driving the white car? Don’t forget that aspect of it. It isn’t that the legendary was said, it was that they were part of a package that was paid for

It’s a healer! You don’t sit and beat on or it will heal! That’s kind of what it does. If you want to kill it you burst it and if needed interrupt it’s main heal. They fall to burst both condi and power. Just because you either don’t play a class or have the knowledge to beat it doesn’t mean the class is op. It means you need to learn. And that’s from someone who hates playing that build

Someone wants a trinity.

Did you see me advocate for that?

I want people to primarily be damage oriented, and i support the devs (currently) Against this concept (the trinty) Though i feel it has importance in pve.

I Think the hybrid approach is good, I just dont think that a druid should do 500k damage a game, and 500k healing, while everyone else is doing 300k damage.

Is there something wrong with that?

Other than your approach no. Gw2 is based on not having the trinity even in pve instead chars are more self sufficient and able to heal themselves.

After the balance, Mesmers, eles, and revs will still be OP. Same as season 1 and 2.

I don’t see ele as op as it gave up all damage for healing nor is it a bunker as it can be burst down with power or condi
Condi shatter mes was really the only build they had left so kinda hard to complain

And you didn’t answer my question how would the necro get through to make a play that could potentially win or lose the game? He couldn’t because your system doesn’t allow for that. There is a reason the stats we have now still have power on them

Ok for starters the charms would overlap or eclipse legendary effects or skins that people have worked to get. Yes that’s picky but true none the less. Second you want to force too much focus on one thing. In your own example you used necro so I will also. If a Necro goes condi with your setup how would that necro take down the gate to go after the lord? It’s little things like this that your system overlooks. Besides we’ve already had enough amulet choices taken away we don’t need more restrictions to kill build diversity we need actual balance. Just my two cents

Please keep in mind this is just a start of some idea’s, but the basic concept is what i want you to focus on.

So you will pick sigils to specialize your weapon effects, runes to specialize your class focus, and stats to support that focus.

They should have an optional “care bear” button that a player can press that gives them everything in the game (all AP points, legendaries, skins, exploration, dungeons, wvw ranks, pvp titles, all gem store items and enough bags/bank slots to carry it all).

Bam – one button – you win!

And instead you should have to go through and explore every little area that you’ve already done. Wow so much fun and excitement! I mean I’ve never done this before…. oh wait…
