As someone who has a party-buff centered ranger (red moa/jungle stalker pets with warhorn and the battle roar charr ability with 30 points in the boon trait) I was disappointed not to hear anything about spirits. I want to like spirits but I feel like I can’t use them half the time because they die so easily (even with the double health buff). They become completely pointless to have in certain fights because of it (like alpha).
The dragons have always been a joke.
The, hands down, most epic monster in all of video games to slay and you just stand there beating down his foot…
Really Anet?
Even the Lupi fight you have to avoid, kite and chase him around. kitten plz make these epics beasts move….
Yes. The dragons do need some changing. On all 3 dragons people generally stand in 1 spot. They need to make incentives for people to move. I sort of like how the golem world boss has these aoes to try to force people to move, but, the damage on them is so low that you can still just stand there and not move.
What I find kind of annoying is going to a map with a world boss and ending up in overflow.
I guess ArenaNet was a little too successful with getting people to do other world bosses. They should probably work on changing the scaling so that bosses don’t die so fast.
I’m not sure where the ArenaNet.log file is. I don’t see it in my Guild Wars 2 folder and search isn’t finding it. I just copy and pasted part of the error that came up.

I’ve been experiencing this for quite a bit and it’s been annoying me and I have no idea how to fix it. The game will crash often on loading screens, but also in WvW and on dragons as well (high population areas).

whats the MaW event?
It’s an event that spawns a lot in Wayfarer Foothills. It’s an event chain that has like 5 or 6 events. And nearby there’s a wurm event chain that has 3 events.
How convenient that you forget guild missions..
With such an insanely high amount of influence you need to get guild missions.. it might as well not be mentioned.
I personally don’t think you should need level 5 in any tree to START doing a guild mission. Maybe you will need to unlock level 5 eventually to get more but you shouldn’t need level 5 to start out. If you want guild missions to be a feature that everyone partakes in then you are setting the gate a little too high.
Also I’m just bewildered that you decided to put the guild missions in Art of War. Guild Missions are entirely PvE focused and yet it’s in a WvW tree? It makes no sense to me. I would like to hear what the dev’s rational for putting it into Art of War is. :/
What game allows you to use achievement points? All games I have played it’s just like your gamerscore on xbox
I played Rift for a bit and certain achievements gave certain goodies.
Here is a good way to get agony resistance. Get an ascended amulet with laurels. Do some 1-9 fractals. Get an agony infusion for 75 tokens. Now you can do 10-19. There are chances that ascended rings can drop from doing dailies. But there are also the daily tokens which you can spend 10 of them from a ring. Once you get 2 rings you can get 2 more infusions and have 15 agony resistance. I would start doing level 20 so that you can get a fractal purple shard drop from it. Once you get that you can upgrade a ring so that it can give 5 more agony resistance. Once you’re at 25 agony resistance you can do 1-29 without taking agony damage. I can’t talk about 30+ because I haven’t gotten there yet. But you can also make a backpiece with tokens to get your AR to 30 and you should be ok on 30+ fractals with 30 AR.
Random elements need to be especially placed in the puzzles. Without it the puzzles will get old quick.
It’s a dumb idea to put a PvE feature in a PvP category. Wrong move on this one, Anet. You might be wanting to encourage more people to do WvW with this, but you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink. People that don’t do WvW aren’t going to all the sudden do it. People are just going to get kitten off (small guilds in particular) that they have to waste guild influence to get it.
Does putting points into the boon duration trait tree increase the boon duration of abilities you apply to allies? Or is that only based on their own boon duration buffs? Also is it the same for things like food/runes/whatever?
I filled out your survey for you.
This was the earliest screenshot of my character where he wasn’t transformed into a cow.
Perhaps instead of getting rid of all the abilities and stuff for the jumping puzzle.. you can copy what the snowball pvp fight did and give each specific class their own unique ability.
It looks small at first glance, but I think there are 2 possibilites.
1) They didn’t reveal everything
2) The guild missions will be a big thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if other guild upgrades made their way in. Also the living story event will most likely be a bigger part of the update than January.
I recently upgraded my motherboard, CPU, and RAM. Ever since it seems like my game client is crashing a lot. It happens mostly during a load screen, but has happened while fighting dragons. I’d say about 15% of the time I’m on a loading screen the client crashes.

Conditions should affect objects. You should be able to crit objects. Objects should be rebalanced with those in mind.
This is actually a pretty good idea. Just make it so that in the story tab you can replay the missions. However it should be made that any decision you make in the missions does not affect your overall story.
I support saving names. One of the reasons I hate swapping pets.
After making 3 level 80s and completing the entire map, the whole idea of leveling now seems kind of tedious to me. If I was more active about leveling I’d probably have like 3 more level 80s by now. But I just can’t get into it very well. Just my personal experience.
As far as I’m aware the only way to get ascended items is to craft them in the mystic forge, do fractals, or get laurels from dailies/monthlies.
I disagree with being able to zoom out farther. I believe that the way the camera is now makes it feel more like a third person action game. “If you don’t like zoomed out, then don’t do it!” you might say. However such a notion is invalid in a PvP setting. In order for players to be as competitive as possible they need to be as zoomed out as possible. The player base that pvp HAS to play the game completely zoomed out.
Claw of Jormag. Fractals/dungeons. Not too terribly difficult if you play higher level fractals and dungeons that aren’t ez pz like CoF path 1.
Where’s the highest level rebreather you can get? And where is it? The highest I’ve seen is level 66.
Thanks.

Are you able to stack similar buffs with different sets of runes? For instance can you have 2 different sets that both give +20% might duration? I ask because I have one currently equipped, but when I mouse over a different set it shows the same upgrades as highlighted in blue.
From descriptions I had pictured rotating dailies like it is now, but also that we would have a choice of what dailies we would do. For instance I pictured the idea of having 6 dailies, but once you complete 4 you complete the daily for the reward and the 2 achievements you didn’t do close up so you can’t get them. So everyone could only complete 4 a day.
I like this because it gives people with different playstyles different ways to complete the daily. For instance in this way you could add a “kill x players in WvW” daily achievement because nobody would be forced to do it (and hopefully this would mean getting rid of the WvW monthly, although this same concept could be added to monthlies).
This is one of those ideas that people think have no real purpose. However the purpose is to help make the world seem more believable and immersive. For instance you could also make the argument that limping isn’t needed but it helps sell the idea of being crippled more than just having a slower run animation.
I think this is a good idea and I’m not sure why people think that this will somehow break the game. 99.9% of people have a rebreather equipped at all times.
I kind of like it. I’m hoping that the new functionality leads to more interesting encounters in the future as opposed to “make something super hard and people just keep rezing”. For instance I think CoF path 2 is more interesting now after changing the part before the boss.
Bumping to make sure devs see the thread since I posted this early morning.
I noticed that I was missing the carving achievement. You can tell that I should have it by the fact that I have the Master Carver title.
I would have liked to see some content to explore, but I guess we’ll have to wait for the fire and ice thing or whatever.
Going to the hint tab shows that I have discovered all the hints. However the achievement for hints says that I am missing 2. Is this a bug?
Are you talking about when the Maw does his final pew pew laser beam at the end? I almost never die by that anymore.
I think there’s a big demand for being able to sort equipment by light/medium/heavy type. However I think a better solution to that is rather to set a sort option to filter out items your character cannot use. Not only would this solve the equipment problem, but it would also make things like dyes easier to buy on the auction house since it would filter out the dyes you already have on your character.
Edit: Sorry I misunderstood I thought you meant video game controller.
I’ve gotten to fractal 11. I’ve done fractal level 10 with pugs before. It’s not too horrible. I’m actually surprised at how a lot of people I’ve played with know the tricks (like stacking on the boss in cliff fractal or skipping the second harpy area or the dredge wheel or using spy kits).
I’m an achievement hunter so I try my best to log on every day to do them.
I’m an achievement hunter. I was like, hey, I’ve done most of the achievements so I’ll try keg brawl and maybe that’ll be fun. Haha nope. The main issue I had was when I was playing people on my team would run the barrel to the opposing team’s goal. Whether this is intention or not (aka cheating or not) I don’t really know. I’m not sure what anti-cheating functionality you can add, but at the least you should make it more clear what goal you have to return the barrel to because people clearly don’t understand that you take the barrel to your own goal.
Well for PvE I think the pets (ranger pets/necro pets/ranger spirits) in general needs a buff to them because they die easy, especially in AoE encounters like Alpha. I think AoE protection would make using pets more of a viable option in higher level encounters.
In PvP/WvW it would be an indirect nerf to AoE. I know the devs have been talking about how they want to see AoE toned down a little bit. This could be one way to reduce it somewhat. The idea would be that if you really want to kill a pet that you should single target attack it. This would increase the opportunity cost of using AoE spells without messing with the damage numbers. I know that increasing the pet AoE resistance alone probably isn’t enough but it’s a good direction I think. It causes players to act differently in different situations as opposed to just putting a blanket nerf. Pets that spawn from runes should also have the AoE resistance so that not only certain classes benefit. But so that people know that pets have AoE resistance it should show that they do under their name like how bosses have text under their name detailing the boss mechanics.
I would like it to be something a bit more involved than just “you get a protection buff”. For instance maybe making it so that there’s an upgrade that adds safe areas along the walls, but that the enemy can break and destroy them and you have to repair them before you can get their full usage.
I think it’s a cool idea making defensive structures like that, as opposed to only having offensive tools that are the siege weapons like we have now.
I have a concern with guesting and the rich ori node in Southsun Cove. Let’s say that you have 4 level 80 characters that you farm the rich ori node with. Let’s say on average you get 18 ori from the rich ori node. That is 72 ori. Then let’s say you guest to 2 other servers and do it all again. That is 216 ori.
I think the ideal solution would be to transfer your harvest status between servers. Not sure if that is what currently will happen. I’m also not sure if it is possible. But this would prevent abusing gathering between servers with guesting.
If that’s not possible then perhaps we can set it so that the rich ori node only gives 1 ori per strike instead of the usual 2 ori per strike. This would reduce the overall ori in circulation and reduce the effect of an ori surge when the guesting goes active.
Probably why ori prices are falling, people are exploiting this.
The reason ori prices are falling is because of the rich ori node in Southsun Cove.
Is there a plan to buff pets in general? It seems like pets are a bit underwhelming. One example is on the Alpha fight where it is impossible to use pets because of his massive AoE capabilities.
Can you guys make the Skritt Burglar not target my ranger pet? I’ve even tried setting my pet to passive and the Skritt will still transform my pet over me. I’ve gotten 2 out of 4 of the Skritt achievements so far but it’s been a pain because not only do I have to find the right spot, I have to complete it without the Skritt transforming my pet.
I figured the January update wasn’t going to be a content update, but a quality of life update. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lfg system.
