What I find rather annoying about IRON PVkitten on this forum though is that those here from IRON guild that do it, do not actually represent the guild well at all.
Both Wrex and Lumar from IRON are really nice, calm and friendly people, honourable in defeat and gracious when winning.
The few of you here from IRON continually being abusive, chest thumping for weeks on end and trolling all the time are doing more of a disservice to the guild you represent than anything else. Childish and immature.

As an iron officer we tried to do our best to stop forum trolling but you can`t tell individuals to stop . it`s a game and this game is full of childish people as in any game and besides it`s 2-3 regular posters as anyone should know the posts on here don’t represent the guild/server .

If you don’t want their comments to be mistaken for IRON speak then ask them to drop IRON from their sig or chunk them out

I don’t agree with the pathetic statement they can play how they want. They are also quite skilled and give great sport when you take them on with small man versus small man but the 5 to 1 laughing stuff has been happening for months when they decide to frequent the ruins just north of south camp on a BL map.

In exactly the same way I have been chased half way across the map by an IRON blob when roaming In those cases I think – wow I have just helped my server even if I die in the end trying up 30 people with just little me.

Frankly anyone who does not agree that EU on JQ is the weakest of SoR/BG/JQ cannot be playing in that timezone. I have played there since beta and its always been our weakest zone. Sure, sometimes SEA pull overtime or NA comes on early to cover but its weaker compared to SoR and BG. We have very few organised guilds. We have done our best setting up EU guild umbrellas to gather our scattered forces together and our small guilds, “pugs” whatever you want to call them do a great job in that timezone and we often have a decent number of disparate folks in TS – sea of tags motley crew style and map hop alot (when there are not queues…. 1.5 weeks ago there was never a queue in EU time) but we do lack numbers (once the achievement hunters finish)

Of course its better than SoS, TC and Mag buts that’s true for some of the other zones as well.

The point he was trying to make was that if more EU guilds coming over want fights (a big if I know) then it does not seem sensible to go to BG or SoR right now. Better to go to JQ or even Mag, TC or SoS as they will then get to play against the SoR and BG EU guilds. Most sensible BG and SoR posts I see say this.

Sure, there are imbalances across all servers in other timezones as well and it would be great if those can be fixed for all but he was referring specifically to EU.

This whole issue would not have happened if Anet had just had a bunch of servers rather than designate them by NA and EU. Ping is not as important in this sort of game and the global internet is much better than it was 10 years ago. The reason we ended up with this was purely commercial.

The weekend was a rough start for Blackgate, Sanctum of Rall were dominating us, meanwhile Tarnished Coast held their own on the first day, making it extra tough for Blackgate.

Sunday night SEA time, SoR had the momentum and were ticking over 400 PPT with a 17k lead, they had large armies on all 4 borderlands and Blackgate could not even take back it’s own Garrison nor hold a tower on BG BL. 24 Hours later I log on and it’s a completely different story, Blackgate holding 300+ PPT ever since NA primetime.

Sanctum of Rall haven’t been able to stop the momentum since, which has allowed Blackgate to close the gap. But you and I both know that Sanctum of Rall never give up, and next call to arms they might be able to reverse the momentum back into their favour.

Interesting times ahead

Whereas I tried to get folks together to stop Mag turning our map red and the bunch of pirates on that map last night just wanted to let them flip it all. Queue popped for SoS BL after we tried and failed to hold Bay with the few of us so I said kitten it and took the queue. Ended up in a karma train and felt dirty. At least the chat in TS was fun

Oh I remember JQ’s SEA coverage quite well, back when SoS/SBI/JQ the match in SEA was MERC v FOO v WM (3 guilds 3 maps) (EB was pugs back then for all servers). SoS got ND towards the end as SBI died and then JQ got 4 map coverage SEA. It indeed was a blur, I’m sure many of the MERC member’s now on JQ remember the insane amount of guilds JQ suddenly had in the SEA time slot, we we’re constantly amazed at each night finding at least 2-3 new guild tags each night for about 2 weeks.

Ge, Val, DC, VwV, TKG, EXI, OMEN, many more I have forgotten.

It was the first super-stack of T1, prior to this queues didn’t really exist, maybe the map that MERC/FOO/WM was on but that was it, not anymore ;P the good ole days.

Yup. those were fun times for sure. Some of the fights against SoS were tough. Since I am EU I got to play with FOO when I had days off. Great fights against MERC. That January recruitment push was certainly interesting, the whole thing kinda snowballed out of control given it was just before free transfers ended. Momentum overkill and a monster was created.

Actually queues were present back in HoD/SBI/JQ days as well in the first few weeks of the game going live.

I don’t think you understand JQ’s situation with having difficulties getting organized forces into WvW. PvE achievement seekers have all the maps queued. This also goes for the sheer number of people who transferred to JQ in hopes of getting the “gold league first place” rewards. All 3 “tier 1” servers are going to have queue/achievement seeker issues for a bit.

Even NS is struggling to pull enough members into a borderland to do their thing. Nothing we can do about it.

Trying to organise a JQ BL bay defence earlier this evening was interesting experience. when most of map chat says, let them have it so we can flip it back it gets frustrating.

Could have been a good fight as well. WvW xp and achievements really killed this game.

Yup, looks like you are experiencing the ZD factor. That will certainly make the next 5 weeks interesting. As I said last week anyone trying to predict the winner with certainty needs to realise that 7 weeks is a long time in WvW. Alot can change.

No doubt ZDs will have an impact on Season 1. How much remains to be seen but I think it’s great for our bracket to have them here. However, our turn started last night during NA. From my perspective it felt like SoR ran out of gas and logged early. I expect a couple more momentum shifts before this week is over. Should be fun!

Hopefully we can get an EU behemoth as well and make that timezone a proper three way in week 7

Or maybe TC can have some coverage too? c: or hell, mag and sos to make Tier 2 interesting and close again.

The fact that I’ve actually been able to use my skills in fights the past two nights makes this match infinitely better than last week. We had a rough first 48 hours but it looks like we’ve turned it around. I have no idea how the rest of the week will play out but it’s been pretty fun thus far.

I can relate to that first point. Same for me. Mag and SoS fight well. Had some great small man fights this week, they lack numbers and coverage is all in non NA timezones. Same with all servers. They all have good and not so good players.

JQ was the unofficial server for many ex DarkFall, ShadowBane and DAoC players so there are quite a few smaller WvW focussed guilds who I am sure can give you a good time. Some of our bigger guilds also run havoc alot.

My point was that I’m running solo/duo and getting more loot bags than ever before. It’s awesome. This is probably the first time I feel like I’m actually getting something out of solo roaming besides the fights.

As for the good players on JQ, well, if you say so. Still waiting for someone to list some tags so I know who to go after.

Pleased you are enjoying this week. Solo roaming can be alot of fun. Often do it on my thief and ranger.

The good players are out there, as with all servers there is a mix. Hope you find a challenge worthy of your skills this week.

Not sure what you would do with tags anyway, I run 4 different tags in WvW myself at times as do alot of folks.

There are actually lots of people running solo/small man from JQ. I don’t normally post, but in the past 7 days I’ve seen some incredibly dirty things being played that ruins the whole spirit of who is a “better server”.

In the week prior to this so-called Season 1, JQ beat BG by a definite margin, to the point of embarrassment.

This week, I saw daily 2v1 fights against our server. Double our numbers in a 24/hr clogged-up situation where our real fighting guilds could not get in or change locations because of the achievement process that Anet decided to introduce for this Season.

We fought with mostly PVE militia eager to get their achievement points.

Once you open the floodgates of PVE into the realm of PVP, you break the true PVP champions of each server from doing what they do best.

I know Anet is trying to please everyone. Sure, I got my Veteran of the Mist title and my key in the first week endlessly focusing not on my server objectives but my own. And I’ve been playing WvW since day one of GW2 launch.

Something is really screwed with this ‘Season’ concept. I pity those true PVP folks like ATM and GE and MERC who give their life for this game with brilliant fighting coordinate for server glory, only to be cut at their knees by the flood of PVE newbies clogging up their vital resource lines.

BG and SOR, u may have won this round. But you deserve zero respect for what you did to us. Phui.

JQ tears… so. delicious.

I think you will find those are Beyonce tears. For every person from JQ whining about 2 versus 1 I can give you an equivalent person from SoR whining about the same thing in this very thread.

As usual the same bods see a post from someone and think hey, that person must represent the entire server they are from in some borg mind sort of way. Of course, some of us are wiser than that and appreciate there are plonkers on all sides.

I will give you a hint. JQ comes in 3rd week 7.

The best you can hope for assuming you win the fights against BG and SoR on their own is 27.

Coming into week 7 both SoR and BG will be sitting at 26. Only question I guess is who takes first/second. And both first/second give enough points to give JQ 3rd overall.

That is 6 weeks away, transfers will happen both in and out for all three servers and the others in Gold, PvE patches will come and go and there are various holidays and other game distractions which can all have a bearing on each servers performance.

I agree that your “prediction” is a very likely outcome and its certainly a bit rich to call it a hint since anyone can see that given its a copy of this week but its not a certainty. Just look at the last 7 weeks match up results to see how things can vary.

It is going to be interesting to see how things pan out and what might be left to play for in that final week. Certainly adds an additional dimension beyond 1 week play.

Stomps actually count less now than they did during that matchup if you had more than one stack bloodlust buff. Before it counted one point per buff stack, now its one regardless of having one or all three.

stomps still represent a very significant amount of points…. If you want to discount them and are on SoR or BG then please do so…

BG tricked SOR to be their lapdawgs and spanked JQ hard over the weekend. Now BG realizes how close SOR is to sniping the win from them, they decided to smack their well behave dawgs. The same spanking SOR is feeling now is what BG and SOR have done to JQ for the most of the week. In the future, maybe SOR stop playing the puppy to BG and bite their master hard?

‘Lapdawgs’ don’t end the week with a 5k lead. Continue QQ’ing, JQ. I have never liked JQ because it always took advantage of the BG/SoR rivalry and you are doing it again with this post. When we all que up all 4 maps, JQ comes in dead last, says alot about the server.

Has it ever occurred to you that there may be a slight, I know this is shocking, rivalry between all 3 servers? All 3 of our servers go through pretty good lengths to see how bad we can screw each other over non-stop. I think it’s pretty awesome!

There is a rivalry between all 3 servers, but the BG/SoR rivalry has always overshadowed other ones, and JQ has blatantly taken advantage of it.

I don’t know if anyone told you this, but you seem slow, so I’ll help you out. There’s this mentality, call it a 1-sided rivalry among all NA servers that have played in T1. A certain rivalry that stretches back all the way to beta. Have you figured it out yet? No?

Ok, here’s a hint: It has something to do with JQ and JQ being the only server that can claim that it has been the most relevant server in all of T1.

Still not got it? It’s ok we’re all on NA servers, perhaps you’re from the States, you’re in luck. We have these programs to help the mentally inclined citizens.

Well in short, the mentality that everyone hates JQ overshadows any of your pety server v server rivalries. Has it ever occurred to you that you’re actually being overshadowed by JQ? Since you like to quote and bring up the past, where was BG, or where was SoR in 2012? Oh wait….it took them awhile to become relevant…..

The match started with BG and SoR doing the 2v1 against JQ because of Icoa commander making the post about the schedule.

As of yesterday, as I went to every map I saw that we JQ were not attacking BG and only focussing SoR. I asked every commander and they all said the same thing, we aren’t attacking BG, we are attacking SoR only.

Amazingly, somehow BG seemed to be doing the same thing. Guess they were playing both sides and it was time to put that knife in the back of SoR.

Sorry SoR, personally I want everyone to just fight but T1 has become too much about fixing the matches and gaming the system and as of now SoR is the prime target.

With the introduction of the league, this match, and possibly the final match, will be driven a lot my match/score politics. Direction of server focus will change throughout the match depending on the expected outcome and what could be done to change that if anything. This shouldn’t surprise you. JQ obviously decided that it was in their best interest to focus SoR, and it seems that’s what they started doing. BG needs to win this match to have any hope of winning Season 1, so it makes sense to try and keep SoR’s score down as well. However, it’s also preferable if JQ takes 3rd, and with a match this close, anything can happen and the focus could shift again.

Bottom line, go with the flow and don’t get all bent about it.

Been a fun match up so far. Good tight scores, fun fights and tactics. Nice to be playing regular again after a summer break of sorts.

I see the quality of the forum posts has not improved much though. So many 1 sided posts where folks cannot see beyond their own little world.

To the poster above me, well if you are referring to last night EU then we are hardly going to brute force our way into Bay with our motley crew “sea of tags” when SoR bring forth an IRON blob, a WIC blob, A FEAR blob and a bunch of other tags when when one those blobs suffers a blood nose. Much more fun to play hit and run and drag you over 5 supply traps to empty that precious supply so you can’t repair the gates and walls and kill siege so we can prep that puppy for NA prime for example.

The funniest thing I saw this week EU time was when we set of some trebs in NE camp to attack/play with Hills. BG finally responded after an age. I was scouting south and calling in their response. I counted over 90 people run past me in about 3 groups including a tail to respond to our 20 folks with two trebs. For once they were focussed on the trebs and the 90 did not decide to chase my single warrior halfway across the map I was joined by 1 other and we killed the last of that long tail before we ported back to garry.

Our EU is all about prepp’ing the ground for our NA folks and taking opportunities as they present themselves.

Anyway, all servers run zergs at times and they all do 2 vs 1. My advice is cut the tripe on the forums and enjoy the fights in WvW this week.

Don’t get my wrong, really like your play style and that but at the start you mock a warrior for running away once the fight was not going well for him…but then in the very next scene you run away also until the fight is in your favour again seems a bit strange.
Anyway good fighting

Go watch it again and you will see the difference. Here is a clue…, the oPP warrior runs off when his mates are still up and the fights are all to play for. His friends all die. He does this three times in that video that I count. Whereas Wilson beats a tactical retreat taking a circular route to keep the enemy close when outnumbered (he was the last one of his team left alive) while he waits for his friends to run back and then they clean house again.

Wilson, nice build and nice skills. Good videos. Enjoyed watching them.

You ever stop and to think maybeeeeeeee my team told me to keep going in mumble, cause they were getting wiped from an outnumbered fight? I did not have War banner at the time and resing someone with 5 people ready to cleave you is impossible. If you looked closely I had my camera pan’d behind me the entire time i backed off to see if I can find an opportunity to jump in again or punish over extenders, which in that case did happen when the thief in his party followed me halfway down the the map only to get instant killed from 100% with one hammer combo >_>.

Of course, I only have Wilson’s view to base it on and the editing of selected fights with that as well. I do not have your camera view as a 2nd point of view. From Wilsons side it looked like there were even numbers on both sides and you put on your nikes three times
Fair enough, thanks for your side. Always good to get both perspectives. As for the JQQ stuff, well I expected better really. Thats so old it has moss growing on it. I can see you like to troll but don’t have the skillz if thats the best you have. Loot bags, meh. If you don’t die sometimes you are not doing it right. I give loot bags and receive them. Hopefully the latter outweighs the former by a good margin.
