Don’t get my wrong, really like your play style and that but at the start you mock a warrior for running away once the fight was not going well for him…but then in the very next scene you run away also until the fight is in your favour again seems a bit strange.

Go watch it again and you will see the difference. Here is a clue…, the oPP warrior runs off when his mates are still up and the fights are all to play for. His friends all die. He does this three times in that video that I count. Whereas Wilson beats a tactical retreat taking a circular route to keep the enemy close when outnumbered (he was the last one of his team left alive) while he waits for his friends to run back and then they clean house again.

Wilson, nice build and nice skills. Good videos. Enjoyed watching them.

Good job SoR, this is what your double teaming with JQ lead to – JQ wins. Honestly, I would rather have SoR winning than JQ, which just relies on a large number of PUGs on all maps.

As far as I can see any SoR double team was an illusion. Certainly that metric ton of Omeags they like to bring out every EU night to try for our keeps suggests that. I fought both BG and SoR this week in equal measure.

JQ has always had a high number of smaller guilds and independent folks. Its was the unofficial home of the ex DOAC, DarkFall and ShadowBane folks at release.

When you see a bunch of different guild tags as your opponents and think “oh look its just a bunch of pugs” very often the majority of that bunch is in TS but some of them are attached to their guild tags from other games and so wear them. So the force can operate quite effectively as a fighting force since most of it is in voicecomm anyway.

JQ earned this win if thats what it turns out to be. All wvw folks on JQ should be congratulated, including our honey badger independents.

I went celestial jewelery on my warrior and guardian because ascended jewelery was such an investment laurelwise. I then specialise via armor and weapons depending on what I want focus on. I carry several different suits of armor and weapons on each one.

Did I say wvw meant even numbers? No. Did you say that every EU force runs from you? Yes. If they’re running, it’s a kitten good idea because you run way more numbers than any of them. I will never say that wvw requires equal numbers, but you should really try to realize why you don’t get the fights you want.

I was at that fight on the other side. 30-40 SoR, iron plus friends decide to have a go at SE garry with omegas. We map hopped folks over as we only had a few defenders and repelled the attack. At some point WARD turned up and then joined the rout, or was it a retreat and we chased the leftovers all the way back to that hill. You buffed up and jumped down and we killed a few of you then rine and repeat until your leftovers ran back to try teh same game at the little hill north of tower. You had at least 20 in and around that hill in your screenie left from your attack, not our fault some of you died and had to respawn and others were downed out of view. We pulled forces anyway and our remaining folks chased you to the spawn tower.

You were bringing folks back to the spawn tower when I logged you had at least 40 in and around the tower against our 30 or so.

Anyway, keep up the good work…. you really know how to paint yourself in the most positive light.

Out of pure curiosity since I like to keep up with these things, what guilds joined JQ while you were out of “tier 1” and from what servers? Definitely want to know!

Since our last confrontation we lost [ACO] and [WARD] to SoR,
and we gained Zombieland[WvW]

That’s about it, the rest are still the same old guilds you’re facing.

Suuuure [WvW] is a new guild. :P

Anyway, a couple JQ mentioned new guilds (particularly NA timezone) joined. Just wanted a name or two, but I guess trolling is a good enough answer.

ZombieLand runs a WvW tag and a sizeable force they are. We have a few “newish” guilds such as RATS, Noah, etc but these are made up of existing playerbase just running new tags for training and more importantly revigourating the players.

If you think we somehow gained a ton of folks then I am sorry to dissapoint you. Alot of what you see are the same folks or folks coming back. Its quite possible we have got a bunch of small guilds/solo’s recently since we hit full but its difficult to track that and it could just as easily be Anet playing with the caps again

Haha you’re so ridiculous. You can try to pretend there’s no 2v1 going on but when both other servers are literally standing next to each other it becomes less of an excuse and more of just a fact.

That’s fine though. The same thing happens every time JQQ comes back up to T1 from being punked down to T2. They come up, fired up, focus on BG with SOR for a few weeks and BG drops in rankings. Eventually JQQ grows a pair and attacks SOR only to tumble ever downward back into T2 because without the SOR team up they can’t hack it in T1. This has gone on forever now and has been happening as long as the Henge of Denravi days.

Say what you will about TC and DB, at least they played to win.

More revisionist postings please. Just how many times has JQ been in T2? (tiers are not what they once were with the pseudo random rolls now) . You make it soudns like we have been bouncing up and down forever between T1 and T2 since HoD.

Up until the relaxing the tier match ups we were in T2 for 1 week back in September 2012.

Pariah you do realise that much of the skill lag that has surfaced since 1st July has nothing to do with server populations yes?

Go read the tech support threads and you will see that all servers are being impacted to some degree.

I agree there are other factors at play with Anets’ servers, and player density in WvW etc that do play a part but the large increase in skill lag, rubberbanding, dc’s and other associated things are due to severe packet loss which appears in part to be due to work being done on transatlantic network infrastructure which started 1st July and is due to finish barring bad weather end July.

Other games and services have experienced issues recently. Not everyone gets the same level of disturbance because isps, routing, infrastructure, servers etc all play a part but the transalantic impact is real.

I agree its an important discussion to have but if you don’t have many facts on the causes then any solution you present is moot and most likely not even a solution….

This is no doubt a major factor in what some of us have experienced. Of course there are no doubt other factors at play as well for some of us.

If you look at Level3’s global network map you can see that alot of Europe and Latin America traffic gets routed into the same NY area so it must be coming up via the same rather big bunch of cables

There is work being done on the TAT-14 system. It is a major trans Atlantic fiber system.

UK playing on JQ. Trying to do a ori run before attempting wvw, press f to mine, nope, press again, nope, press again nope, wait 10 secs, suddenly manic mining in a split second and node done ok off to do the next node…..

WvW, help out retaking longview on JQ BL. All my allies stationary on apporach to gate, wait 10 secs -statues, wait more – statues, wait more – statues, suddenly everyone moves with lightning speed and golems get built double quick time, gate down just as I unfreeze to run thru. I really helped with that one…

Run over to cliffside to stop BG ninja’ing it, hammer time, warp around, as my enemies warp around, manage to help kill them all in slideshow format and got kill credit as well. Shame all I saw was a comic strip

From reading the other threads and other gaming forums it seems that the issue is actually in some of the Level 3 routers coming through NY. Latin America and parts of europe get routed through there on the way to ncsofts network according to Level3’s global network map. I guess there might be other issues as well such as Anets servers etc but a few other ncsoft games are reporting issues starting 1st july and traceroutes seem to indicate that bunch of level 3 kit.

Anet, do yourselves a favour, you must be talking to level3 to sort this out. I can’t believe that your gamers have identified the issue and you have not. Acknowledge the issue with your service provider and tell us you are working to resolve it. This is killing your business and giving you a bad rep.

Similar to Nightdreaming, UK based. The very bad lag started exactly 1 week ago, lat Monday 1st July.

When I have played in UK early morning or afternoon its playable in open world and WvW with the odd lag spike.

From about 5pm to midnight UK time its unplayable in WvW if I meet just a few other folks (not a fan of spending 5 minutes trying to exit bay door ) and I often rubberband and get frequent lag spikes lasting several seconds in open world when doing gathering runs. MY main playtime unfortunately is Uk evenings.

Before the 1st July I would get some lag in WvW and open world but nothing like this last week.

Vashoom, last three days I have had exactly the same experience as you posted in the video. WvW is a slide show for me at present most of the time. Skil lag, rubberbanding, dc’s in large engagements. Kitten stuff. When I do ori runs in orr, I get similar lag as well and if I catch an temple event and stop off to complete it then I get the same WvW lagfest

I play from the UK on an NA server. It started on Monday evening for me and has been the same Tuesday and tonight. Off to do something else non GW2 instead of WvW as its unplayable right now for me.

My rigs are good, both experience the same kitten. My internet is solid, o2 (now sky) I am switching in two weeks to someone else anyway though for a much fatter pipe so in some ways I hope it is my isp net and not Anet or UK net but I doubt it.

My theorys right now are that either some backbone bunch of routers in the UK that service alot of the traffic from UK out are suffering or that Anet need to buy some more hamsters for the more popular shards in their GW2 world.

Honestly, I appreciate you are messing but I do find you tone about both your opponents slightly insulting but that’s up to you I guess. Speaks volumes about you and if you are representative of your guild, then well….

Coverage trumps all. SoR has much better EU coverage than JQ and its in big blob guild lumps rather than spread out across bits and pieces of guilds – that’s the reality. I am frankly amazed that we are managing to hang on at all in EU at present given the difference in coverage right now so I would suggest that says more about our opponents then us.

Now, saying all of that, we could certainly do more to organise our disparate EU forces into a tighter grouping and that is something we are trying to do at present and our first steps here are helping I think.

Terribad dc’s and rubberbanding lag tonight for me in WvW on JQ BL. Small/medium fights, skill lag, rubberbanding, occasionally ok. Big fight – mostly DC. Been fine for a good while up until tonight.

If it makes you feel better jq was outmanned on their own bl around a hour ago and those that were there just stayed in citadel when both north towers were pvd.

Right before i logged we got a commander so maybe we are no longer outmanned just havent had the interest to log back in.

We were still outmanned when I left. I took over from another pin for a few hours and did what we could to keep the enemy busy. Had some good fights with RISE, BT and KISS. Good response times from them.

Without being too presumptous to speak for others…

As far as I know from talking to a few Agg folks then they are intending to stay but really you would have to ask them.

A few RG folks who still want to play GW2 are staying on JQ as well I think. Again though you would need to ask them really.

Its been a pleasure having both of them on the server this week. I we all hope they stay for as long as they would like. I hope our opponents have enjoyed it as well

So far it is if you consider the point spread between all three servers rather than just 1st and 2nd place.

Lets all keep the fights going till the end of the week and see if we can keep that point spread tight and maybe tighten it up every further…. that might mean that servers change their goals somewhat in the interests of increased tightness.

Tightness has become the new win and will result in the most pleasurable experience, for all concerned – be assured of that.

My build got stronger without any changes from my side. I might make some minor tweaks now though to improve it even more.

I’m actually curious what JQ was thinking strategy wise on SOR bl. I commanded there all day for 2 days in a row. Both days I intentionally helped JQ yesterday I even opened the south gate of bay for JQ. I did this because SOR always tries to control their whole map, so if jq and bg are on the map sor can’t do that. Plus the fact that today we flipped all of sors objectives so it was all paper. This caused the bg items to be the only upgraded objectives yet jq and sor decide to push it? It makes sense for sor to if jq is cause they don’t want a t3 keep on their map. But what were you thinking jq? I guess I’m just missing the strategic reasoning behind your siege of hills.

I’m not complaining we had amazing fights all day, I’m just wondering why.

BG was/is in 1st place. JQ plays for 1st. Better to help SoR turn your stuff to paper and stop you getting points by tying up your forces.

The strategy really isn’t that hard to understand. I am sure we will all have lots of further fun this week. Great match up so far. Lets hope it stays this close all week

Stop your moaning, there is less than 1k between all three teams, 24 hours in. This is an excellent match up so far great fights from all sides.

Sure is the same opponents but I honestly think you are kidding yourself if you think you are going to get better fights with other servers. Maybe some of the trolls here actually mean easier….

Everyone wins because of coverage, that’s how servers win in WvW. That’s how JQ won 15 gold medals & thats also why Henge of Denravi is beating Fergusson’s Crossing and Eredon Terrace by over 100k.

Coverage is the reason why servers win in WvW.

Give this person a cookie, who knew. Based on their recent postings I really thought they had passed the event horizon and oblivion beckoned (lets not do physics on GW2 forum… ) but they have clawed their way back and there is hope in the world it seems.

Really if you want to quote scores there is a website for that. Empires rise and fall, the most interesting thing is if they can rise again.
