I wish JQ would come out to fight also during EU prime, but i cant have every thing.

We do but there are not many of us and I mean that most sincerely. Typically what you see are some Sea night owls, some early NA and a few EU prime folks. When we say JQ has vitually no EU coverage we are not telling porkies.

Now with RG visiting that is a bit different this week but they are still settling in and I would never presume to speak for those folks. I am sure you will enjoy the pleasure of their company soon enough this week….

Uhm, the TS numbers last night for JQ BL were around 26 choo, 27-30 HL, and 25 HEL. So whoever that BG dude is who says we have one guild per BL zerging it up, youre wrong. We all ran independently and all encountered the massive JQ blob and BG Zerg. It’s a shame open field fighting on the other servers is all about stacking numbers, and not putting out strategic teams that work with one another to perform different duties across a map. Maybe your tactics aren’t working out over there with your blabbing guys :p

I love SoR, I really do and I have a ton of respect for so many of the guilds over there and what you guys were able to accomplish a few months ago with smaller numbers but please don’t try to pretend your underdog tactics of consolidation and map jumping did not create the blob meta we are living under today. I was hopeful once SoR started winning more often some of your guilds would consider returning their smaller scale sized roots but it is not surprising they are sticking to the plan or feeling obligated to dance with the one that brung ya.

JQ suffers a lot more in this regard having a lot of independently minded smaller guilds who like doing their own thing but we embrace our renegade nature and just keep on trying our darnedest. I must really need to play in some other time zones to get a chance to meet this JQ blob you speak of.

I was on last night in Aldon’s Ledge trebbing when JQ took Lowlands Keep and SoR stopped reinforcements at spawn. There wasn’t any double teaming involved. We wanted Lowlands cracked, and that was the easiest way to get it done, after being pushed out numerous times by BG.

We tried pushing Jerrifer’s Slough after taking Lowlands, but JQ was dug in too deeply, and we couldn’t make any headway.

Anywhere else in the map, I can’t speak for.

Out of the three of BG, SoR and JQ, then going to JQ would probably be the best choice in terms of attempting to keep numbers equal out of those three servers. However, a force of 400 would tip the balance too much although I am guessing you probably field around 40-50 at any time which would be just about right.

I find it amusing that BG folks are suggesting you should go there. Given there are plenty of them in the current match up thread bragging about how they beat JQ by 100K last week. Priceless

Anyway, JQ has a solid core as others have said so I think you would find a good home there, we have a good outreach program and can help with rebuilding influence.

As much as it pains me to say this though you might be better off boosting another T2 server as the current second tier match up often does not work out well and another stronger T2 would be good. Of course if 1-2 guild could come to JQ and the others to somewhere else that would be perfect but I see you are an alliance so that won’t work.

Shame I missed our TW friends last week. Bad time to do a business trip. Heard great reports though. Hope you folks had fun.

Ah yes,, kefro, I remember him and all those “JQ is stacked and is killing WvW” posts a few months ago.

As to those posters pointing out he lives under a bridge (avoiding infraction trick number 1) and is only a lone voice. Well he seems to be getting quite a bit of support from other posts in this thread and the T1 match up thread as well. The spider dude telling everyone that only SoR uses combo fields and have thieves that can kill folks is most amusing.

As Neuromancer elsewhere this sort of post just reinforces the new name for your server.

What I don’t understand is, how the hell is SoR not Full, but JQ which seems to have a lower population in WvW atleast, is ALWAYS full? Are there just that many people on JQ that are PvE focused? Plus I hear people saying that JQ doesn’t have huge population outside of NA yet it is full 24/7.. Not sure if it is a bug or what, but it doesn’t seem right to me.. Ahhhh! :<

We are fortunate to have numerous and committed group of active WvW players, though we have our fair share of pvx and pve only population.

Some have stated that there are certain times throughout the day where JQ will not be full.

Does anyone know what times throughout the day that JQ typically is not full as stated above?

The best time currently is between 5:00-7:00 UK time (GMT+1) which is around 12-2pm EST I think. Its our weakest timezone in WvW.

Just wondered if you considered takig moment of clarity instead of the other GM trait? With GW 4 and 5 and SB 5 that would be three more opportunties to deliver 50% more dmg for you and your pet although you would not get the guaranteed crit from Precise strikes for them, The cooldown on moment of clarity is 5 seconds and you also get 50% extra daze/stun duration.

Good analysis, always love a bit of maths to support a position.

Given a trait like precise strikes though there might be a good reason why you want to take a bit more CD when you feel you have a reasonable amount of CC in your build, say 40-50% not including fury 20%, if you are building a spike dps build which is designed to kill as quickly as possible. More CD in that scenario to frontload that first strike is quite fun assuming you can land it.

Of course CC is nice for lots of other reasons as well given runes,sigils etc.

Pretty awesome match up so far. Good fights all round.

I have often wondered whether running a league system would make more sense where everyone gets to fight every one else, or maybe two leagues with promotion and demotion for the top and bottom few slots every month.

Would be interesting to see how you might implement that and how it would play out. There might be blow outs of course but there is in any league system and at least each server gets to test their metal against each other. I think some of the results might be surprising.

Was amusing when you did split and had a bunch coming though the west outer hole in garry and another hitting water gate and yet another hitting south east gate. That was a big bunch of bananas you had there.

We are still fighting the good fight. Would be nice to have a little help. If you are looking for a solid community in both WvW and PvE then make contact with any of those folks in the first post. A few more EU brothers and sisters would be particularly welcome.

For all of those trying to give all the credit to Iron for SOR’s push to number one, you’re out of your kitten minds.

SOR’s NA has been kicking BG and JQ’s kitten for months. This isn’t a new phenomenon. It’s the way it’s been since SOR arrived in tier one. Yes, there are nights when BG or JQ ticks higher for a brief portion of NA prime, but they’re rare and the tick doesn’t last long. With TSYM, CHOO, FEAR, and TW filling up the maps, it’s difficult for JQ or BG to find a borderland that they can have a lot of success in. The great SOR NA guilds have conditioned the JQ and BG guilds to expect to lose often. Losing isn’t fun. A lot of JQ NA guilds transferred off because they were getting sick of being farmed nightly. It’s difficult to find any BG or JQ guild that hasn’t been conditioned to the point that they turn and run as soon as they see 10 TW tags.

SOR’s Asian and SEA guilds have to be given some credit as well. They have faced overwhelming odds since we’ve been in tier one. They face Merc, ND, Foo, ATM….and they don’t give up and transfer off like ND did. They’ve learned to adapt their games to the environment they find themselves in. They don’t quit, regardless of score. If anyone deserves credit for SOR’s climb to number one: it’s those guys. They took a lot of beatdowns and now they’re getting to experience some success.

In addition, you have to throw some credit to the smaller guilds and the Rallian militia. These guys are willing to travel across the map solo and get rolled over by a 50 man zerg just to help where the help is needed the most. I was one of these guys for months until I recently applied to TW. Many of them have left their comfort zones and joined TS so they can be more effective. A lot of them scout, report enemy troop locations, and sit at a supply camp until they get rolled over, just to help the server. They’ll run in little guilds and spend all their guild influence on keeping a +5 buff up for the server. The Rallian militia is a big reason why SOR is number one.

So yes, Iron is a big part of our climb to number one. To overlook the the other members of our great community, the activity of our TS, and the selfless nature of the people on SOR is a travesty to those that drug SOR from the bottom to the top of the NA bracket.

This has been kept under wraps, until now. I can’t live with the guilt any longer. The fact is, Blackgate has a dirty secret. Behind the scenes, we are nabbing all the new transfers, taking them down through the heavily guarded Blackgate and to the depths of the earth where we are harvesting their brains and fusing them all together to form a “super brain”. Once it’s ready, this “super brain” will rise through the depths and embed itself right in these very forums, where it will begin to respond to trolls and in turn troll our competitors at a level so incredible and downright heinous that our competitors will explode from within.

So there you have it. Ah it felt good to get that off my chest.

Ah, I knew it….. looking forward to see that super brain in action. Be good to test myself against some real trolling competition.

Jade Quarry has been running a Soylent Green game for months. Stei, called it the “make a super soldier process” but really the truth is much more henious than that. That guy has a future in marketing.

Honestly the free transfers we got were a real boon. We were starving. We have now consumed most of them. We only keep the SF and their friends around because they are tough as old boots.

It’s pretty amazing JQ hasn’t dominated this week as many from sor and bg can’t control objectives for extended periods this week…many in TS just refuse to zone there, hehe.

I see plenty of SoR and BG in JQ BL, maybe they didn’t get the memo.

I agree the map is messed up but thats the same for all folks on there, JQ doesn’t have the dc switch and there doesn’t seem to be a shortage of enemy to kill in my timezone anyway.

We are getting more numbers into WvW this week which is most welcome and actually giving you some fights, you want that right? sometimes I am not sure given the kitten I read from some folks on this thread from your server.

The JQ BL map kitten is just a diversion but really needs to be fixed, at least we agree on that.

I very much enjoyed wiping you multiple times one EU evening on EB last week with one of our famous JQ honey badger mongrel groups when you were trying to take Umber while myself and our other Oreo commander were trying to get towers and keep upgraded ready to hand over to NA prime. Thanks for the fights and the bags, was a fun diversion.

Its great to have you folks on SoR as an opponent in my timezone. You play well and are a tough nut to crack when you are on song. You also appear to handle yourself with honour in battle.

However both BG and JQ have very little organised EU coverage at present. I am sure both servers would love a medium EU guild to come to them and give you the fights I am sure you feel you deserve. Until that time you will have to make do I am afraid.

That is why we in Black Gate are stuck in a bad position.
Right now there are only 2 active Borderlands SoR and BG. So we will be hit by both SoR who now have the strongest EU and JQ who are hungry for scraps.

The thing JQ lacks are guilds willing to duke it out with a SoR zerg and they go for what is easy and SoR have no choice, but to go to BG.

Overall it is a small mater. If i am i am no longer sick in a few hours then i will come on and go after SoR like i always do. After all there is no fun in fighting some one who do not have more numbers.

JQ does not avoid fights with SoR. Reset night for example SF and friends took Their home map hoping Their N/A best was there. We cheered when we found TW in hills. We knew it was on…and some great fights were to be had for the rest of the night.

What happened? While I was working on inner hills about 10 minutes after reset, Blackgate ended up ignoring everything SoR…and coming into the hole i made in hills…and attacked JQ

Then kept attacking us for the next 2 hours while doing their best to ignore or avoid fights with SoR. In fact each time i figure i’ve given Blackgate enough of a beating and i switch to attacking SoR..you guys come right back for more and hit JQ

So forgive me when i laugh at you here for even making this post. And forgive me for making a point in flipping Blackgate’s garrison 3 times so far this week and everything else i see of yours paper because of your laughable tactics on reset night

Folks, if you would like to fight the best then come to JQ as our T1 opponents are tough nuts to crack and provide some excellent fighting.

JQ has a lot of small WvW guilds that have a rich pvp pedigree from games such as DAoC, DF, SB and as such has we very strong “pug” force, the honey badgers

We also have some premier WvW guilds with greater numbers scattered across the timezones. What we need at present is a few WvW guilds spread out in EU, NA and SEA to bring us back up to the level of our opponents and give them a solid match up.

Our server community is solid, we have a strong WvW core, we have a popular website and community Teamspeak. If you need a break from WvW then there is no shortage of folks to do pve content with.

Please consider JQ if you are interested in WvW.

To both opponents, thanks for shaking up WvW in the last 4 weeks. Thats 3 different winners in the last 4 weeks which I think is what most fair minded folks wanted

Although the scores are quite wide this week there are only 40 glicko points between all three which is very tight. Of course, that gap might widen next week.

Hopefully us folks on JQ can get re-invigorated as well and bring some more pain of our own back to the fights.

Well time for sleep for me, spent the evening on our corner of BG harassing bay and hills and flipping camps etc trying to hold onto some points with some SF, AoS and EMP plus is few others. . Probably my most expensive repair session for a good long while Rather amusing that the only points we held when I left were on BG although I would guess we lost those by now.

Had to leave for bed while a 40+ mob of BG were shelling Briar from island vista trebs and we had around 5-10 to defend. Happy days.

There are always bitter tears from some posters from some servers – every server has them. Just are there are folks who enjoy the misfortune of others

Just remember a few posts by a bunch of folks does not mean everyone on that server feels the same way. After all if I was to do that based on your post history I would not think very highly of your server would I, whereas the reality is your server has a good community just like the others.

My word I see the trolls and “fair weathers” have come out from ALL three servers in the last few days.

How about some perspective although why I am bothering given that folks just want to either whine or boast I am pondering right now. No doubt the same trolls will just dump on me as well, honestly who cares, I grew a think skin years ago, give it your best shot, just remember I bite and hard.

The reality is that BG got a bunch of new folks and that has also invigorated their existing playerbase. Remember it was only a few weeks ago the same trash were writing them off, well more fool that trash. At the same time JQ has seen a reduction in numbers out in the field due to some guilds taking a break/moving to DB etc, thats not an excuse, its just a fact. The SEA advantage JQ had is being paid back in spades by BG and thats fair enough. Circles are forever turning. SoR is also suffering somewhat from what I see out in the field with regard to numbers. Well done to BG, great competition.

The match is still fairly close is it not? There is still fun to be had out there and thats a good thing. Whether the point spread is still close at the end of the week depends on all three servers. If BG continues to do a big push every EU session then they will no doubt pull away somewhat but thats WvW. JQ has been the big dog for awhile, they have also been a poor 3rd in T1 at times and even spent a week in T2 back in September.

As long as I am still having fun and enjoying WvW then I am in. I have only ever known JQ, been here since beta and I don’t plan to jump ever unless its a new shiny game, most likely ArcheAge. The regulars I see in WvW every session seem to feel the same way. The core stills strong its just that BG is stronger right now, more power to them, they did a good recruitment drive, we did one a few months back.

Anyway, good luck to all three servers for the rest of the week, I hope you all get a bag with a precursor in it although that might crash the TP but taht would be be new as well

Patch shook things up. Admittedly I wasn’t on EBG before (or after) so I don’t know the status on that fight, but I noticed JQ took their keep (and several surrounding towers) within minutes of logging back in and have been making ground, or trying, since. They’ve definitely not failed to seize the opportunity. Made a play for E. Keep too on BG BL while we were still trying to shake off the outmanned buff. From the flips on the map it seemed they were keener on logging back in.

We had taken all of our corner except langor and keep before the patch and already had trebs working on those before the patch hit and were ticking at around 200 ppt with the work being done in JQ BL as well. I was on EB pre patch and post patch for a bit.

Post patch its true we rushed the keep and langor in that order. I then jumped to SOR BL with our other Oreo to try to hold our corner for a bit and managed that for about 2 hours before SoR got bored banging on bay and came and pushed our 10-15 man crew out. It was then time for bed
