True Shot needs love

I tested it alot on the golems in HoTM. It hits for 1700-1900 non-crit (dps loss in any case) and 3-4k TOPS with might&crit. And this is a rare event.. mostly 2,2-2,8k hits from it critting.

As I said, it’s quite … meh.

It has the same cast time as an autoattack, and it hits for more than double its dmg. Also, you should be sitting around 75%/80% crit chance 24/7, so you crit ost of the time. I tested it with golems rn also, with 0 might and no vuln stacks, Im sitting around 5k crits, 4,1k was the lowest one from 10 TS against heavy golem.

You don’t understand what I’m concerned about. I don’t care about “stacking” because stacking is not the issue.

The issue is that if my necro gets put into a match against a Mesmer, a thief, a warrior, a AS LB druid, and a guardian. (all commonly queued classes in todays meta) I’m going to be 100% comp screwed and will be nothing but a rallybot for the enemy team the entire match.

I could queue my necro last season because I could swap off it I got comp screwed. I won’t be able to do that with prof lock so I won’t be able to play my main next season.

Locking Prof takes away agency away from me, I will not support having my agency taken away from me.

So what you are saying is you don’t want to bring to light the over/under used classes and have the possibility of forcing Devs to actually balance classes. Since with Profession locking it will make people play the safe Overtuned classes which will spotlight balancing disparities for this game mode.

And in that quote I was referencing your argument stating that Anet never mentioned or implied stopping class stacking which they did or are you going to ignore you stated such?

Voting yes will help the gamemode balance move forward, while voting no is letting it stagnate.

The benefits outway the Cons.

But I forget myself some Players in this game don’t have any sense of looking at what benefits long term.

As long as counters exist (which they will and should) and there isnt any type of pick system before match, you should be able to switch before starting the game.

just tested the pathing… i have to say i not only have to vomit from the structure changes, but the amount of non valid paths are absurd.

the whole red side wooden ledge at mid in non valid, while blue side is fine. could you actually test stuff before release?

Yet meta DH only has 2k less health than meta warrior, who has the highest healthpool in the game. That’s quite an accomplishment lol

That 2k diff comes from Dh taking marauder which has 5600 hp more HP than Zerker amulet that Warrior takes.

Like I mentioned before, the big difference is they don’t even have to invest in healing power to heal well. So imagine cutting that close to warrior stats except more blocks, similar damage, similar healthpool but also have great healing power with a marauder amulet. They don’t have to sacrifice anything lol

The big difference is that warr sustain is so broken they dont even need deffensive stats and benefit from going full ham zerk

please don’t even mention WvW in the PvP forum. We all know how some classes are OP as heck in WvW and completely diff in PvP. And not just Warriors.

You took the words out of my mouth. On power Berserker and Vanilla War in WvW with food/oil, Dura runes and all the things you can’t get in PvP it’s really a roaming/havoking Beast. In PvP, it’s really not great at all. Other than Vaans, are there any other Warrior mains in EU or NA ESL? A great player can do some work against the right enemy team, but there are MANY other stronger/better picks for Conquest.

Complain about condition seems to be politically correct thing to do.

However, in reality, 6/9 classes are better on power builds. 1 has about equal condition and power builds.

Only necro, mesmer and warrior can legit condition ‘spam’. Even those classes have about 50-50 split on power and condition damage. And you can counter all of them. Necro can’t survive focus fire w/o support. Mesmer is great when isolated but can barely do damage in teamfight because tons of cleave on clones. Warrior damage comes in telegraphed burst. So learn to dodge.

Also, ele and engi super great at condition cleansing and supporting. You have good counter to conditions. Most meta builds have plenty cleanse for self surviving already. You just need to adapt to meta.

The problem the OP is referencing is that the condi builds are less risk vs more reward. Look at the meta classes on meta battle:

Mesmer, Necro, and Warrior all use pure condi builds. Ranger/Ele use more healing bunker type builds. Engi uses paladins, and Guardian, Revenant, and Thief use Mauraders.

Now here’s how I look at it. I see 3 condi classes, 3 Bunker/Bruiser/Support classes, and 3 Power Classes. Even split.

You could also classify Rev/DH as bruisers as well considering their survivability, but at the end of the day when you HIT a mesmer you HIT a mesmer. A scrapper using pally amulet doesn’t get hit like that.

Yeah, proly engi has kinda more sustain than mesm, but for example dhs and revs arent actual bruisers, but dps bois, as they fulfill such role and build. The fact that they can sustain a lot more than necs simply means that they need less babysit and so somewhat less risk for same reward. By all that I just want to show how talking about power/condi is dumb, we should rather talk about builds/professions. Saying as OP that condi builds are generally better doesnt make any sense at all.

This is the first I’ve read that it has a delay… honestly it’s never been highly useful because by the time they’ve taken the damage it doesn’t matter any longer. That and even with the interrupt it very rarely ever takes effect. I haven’t seen a cooldown on it anywhere, but I’ve only seen the pulmonary impact damage one in maybe 30 interrupts.

Everyone needs roughly 100 matches until he/she is in the “correct” division. This is how the system works. Judging now based on the first impressions is hence unfair.

I hope that the next seasons will to a certain extent base on the previous results in order to mitigate the problems next time.

100 games? Are you kidding me? That’s around 500-1000 hours of play time (Assuming you play out the timer). You are expecting people to do pvp and pvp alone for a month straight in order to start experiencing half-way fair queues.

For season 6, add a 5 man team queue. Make the rewards better than solo/duo queue to help compensate for the longer wait. And to make it more attractive for players to form teams.

Keep the solo/duo queue with the following change. When a team wins, the team re-enter the solo/duo queue as a team. After 3 consecutive wins, they get put into the team queue.

Now you provide solo players the ability to meet and form teams and help feed the team queue.

Keep two different queue separate. Why should solo players be forced to put in team queue just to facilitate team queue players?

Because it shouldn’t really make that much of a difference to Solo players, meanwhile teams get screwed over for a whole season because a majority refuse to play a game mode the way it should be played.
Players make it sound like teams are unfair or taking an easy route when in reality solos in pugs are just making things difficult for themselves. Imagine a teamQ only, there is the option of looking for a party similar to finding dungeon and raid parties where you LFG in HOTM and get to choose your team comp before joining Q, effectively cutting out half the middleman of MM. If there were only teamQ for ranked there would probably be more stable queue times and players really do only have themselves to blame if they lose. Even if its just a group of randoms if you know your classes and builds, choose your matchups and communicate even just a bit teams can still be beaten.

I didnt want to say it but your game philosophy is truly idiotic if you think you can hop in ranked solo in a 5 man team and win without working with your teammates. the reality is teams dont actually hold that much of an advantage over pugs, they are actually just being defeated by their own disorganisation.

So, five pugs can be as coordinated as five TS bois? Man, this post is going down the hill

It’s clear the devs don’t know how to deal with Revenant.

The changes to Precision Strike were in the complete wrong direction, and Anet’s stubborn denial to accept that the function of the skill is the issue, not the damage. An easy change to make, is that stacking hits on one person does less damage so it isn’t so broken in 1v1, but not even WORSE than it is now in teamfights with the damage going everywhere, including at things that aren’t enemies: ie, the GROUND. (Yes, that part irritates me)

Surge of the Mists is another example of a skill that does too much. As a hard CC, an evade, and a damage skill, it’s clearly got too much going for it, and personally, I would rather it have not been implemented in the first place. I’ve always voiced that I hate the ridiculous amount of CC flying around, and SotM is one of the main contenders, partly because staff is used on nearly every power build as the offhand, and it doing eight consecutive hits. Great on break bars, but you can see where the difficulty in balancing would come from.

The Warding Rift nerf was unnecessarily, in my opinion, and staff 2 is still trash at its intended purpose, which was as an interrupt, at least if you don’t mind soaking damage for the sake of it. SotM…I’m honestly not sure what to do about this one.

The Mallyx change took far too long to come about, but there’s no denying it’s a shadow of what it was, and could have been. The lack of a ranged condi weapon still holds that build back tremendously as well.

Also, any word on bug fixes? Like the still ever popular s3 confusion bug?

I dont know fam, rev was a required slot in every team, and every pro player says it will still be strong after the patch. I agree that a lot of rev designs are flawed, but balance wise rev is and will be in a pretty good spot

Well there are many faults with what you just said, first and most importantly of all being you don’t play ele competitively. If you do not play the class competitively, you don’t know how it feels to do so. You reinforced the value in your argument by saying you watch esl closely and they show use in rebound, so what? They are the best of the best and the most coordinated teams in the world. That is absolutely no way to quantify any skill or build’s power. Min Scherzo is probably the best thief in the world, so since he plays acrobatics staff thief, that’s like be saying no staff thief should ever lose a fight ever. If that’s ridiculous, so is what you said.

I said that I play on a regular basis and semi competitve, as much as u can get without playing pro league. If you add there competitive play(pro league) where it also saves lifes then I can say that its effective at any level of play in this game. Read my edit also, where I add some cases where its rly good. Also u can use it when going to support someone so he doesnt die before u get there for instance. I dotn know man, it seems good to me.

I dont know the exact value, but I’ve played both casually and semicompetitive, + I closely follow esl and I can say that the healing saves friggin lifes.

EDIT: You can use it on a low hp nec when in shroud to have some time to use your heals when he goes out, to reach a rev when hes kiting away or for an engi so he has some extra seconds to use his turret after Elixir S. Maybe the healing is not rly good in paper, but it rly gives some extra seconds for your cds to come in extreme situations.

Lots of great feedback in this thread! I see a lot of concern about the nerfs to revenant so I would like to discuss those a bit more.

Surge of the Mists is a skill that does everything. It evades attacks, is a massive cc, and does a huge amount of damage. The defensive capability and cc fit well with the rest of the staff set, so we felt the damage was the best spot to bring the skill down a bit. 50% is certainly a big reduction, but consider just how much damage this skill does right now. Even after the nerf it will still take a chunk out of a squishy’s health bar, in addition to providing cc setup for another skill (and teammates).

Precision Strike is another skill that we felt did too much damage on its own, particularly when all 3 projectiles hit one player. This is another case of a big reduction on a skill that does a ton of damage, resulting in a skill that still does a reasonable amount of damage.

In general, revenant isn’t lacking in sources of damage. Unrelenting Assault, Facets of Strength, Elements, and Chaos, Equilibrium, and sword autoattack are all strong damage skills as well. Precision Strike and Surge of the Mists will continue to bring relevant damage to the table, so rev should still have plenty of damage to go around.

With that said, we will definitely be keeping a close eye on things going into the season.

This is what we get when a dev plays pvp and understands it. Good things happen.

In light of other nerfs, can we see a shave on pulmonary impact’s damage? It is too easy for a thief to randomly interrupt a skill without having any of their own.

*As a thief main, btw

Forget the shave, if you select impacting disruption and do not interrupt your next headshot should cost double the initiative.

It’s not like it doesn’t already have a high cost on HS, that most classes have ways to negate it entirely i.e. Projectile hate/Reflects, loads of Stability, and so on…

So what you’re saying is thieves should have to pay attention instead of just spamming head shot after their opener? I like it…

As someone who uses both, it’s very obvious that condition based builds are currently stronger than power except for example, Bunker Druid, Power Scrapper, and Auromancer

And rev, and guard, and thief. Their condi builds are way worse, even after 13th nerfs/buffs. Only “meta” condi builds are warr, nec and mesm, and nearly half their dmg is power, so ~80% of pvp dmg is power based.

Maybe not the best video ever but he is definiately a good necro. Also been in pug group with him sometimes in ranked. Haven’t lost a match yet when we are in the same group.
We are humans making mistakes all the time doesn’t matter how skilled we are we still making mistakes can’t play like gods all the time. Maybe for 1-2-3 matches after that if you don’t take break you will start losing perfomance and making mistakes. You can use a bit of coffein to have top perfomance a bit longer.

Leeto was top notch 24/7, too bad he quit gw and pleb necros are taking over now

1) There will be the expected periodic balance updates, but I cannot speak to the extend of them.
2) Class stacking has not been a priority because of the leagues rework, and negative feedback regarding character locking when queuing. This might be something worth polling.

I am honestly shocked that class stacking is not a priority. Literally. No words.
