The attempt to manipulate prices creates opportunities for sellers. More sellers compete with each other which lowers prices. Manipulation attempt will fail in the end because there are too many people willing to put the effort in to get lucky at the forge.

:) I’m just farming and still getting another set of clovers. This will be my 5th legendary, so I’m in no particular rush, except to annoy my guildmates “PEW PEW PEW PEW”. Plus, I have a bad habit of buying some long term investments once I have a few hundred extra gold. I just think to myself, “If I liquidate everything, I could buy it now. But if I wait another month…..”

1 – The borderlands need to have a different topography, something as simple as desert/jungle/plains themed.
2- To help coverage have all the servers matched up like in EotM and have 12 hour mini matches. This would help the lower populated servers and coverage with one stone. The mini matches would then be tallied at the end of the week for an overall winner. Your server would then get points rewarded each week with how your color performed during the week.
3 – If you do #2, then you would have to split the gold league so no more than 2 servers are paired a time.

i dont really care if its manipulation or not. the price will settle again if the players think that it is too expensive. but it is quite a coincidence that all the chaos guns are gone in less than half a day. another thing is that chaos gun wasnt the “only victim” but dusk and other precursors too.

its only annoying if you get all your money together to buy a chaos gun for 700 and something just to see all the weapons gone and relisted for 1500g :P not talking for myself but i think this could be kinda annoying.

This is the best we have to check the drop rates.

People were hording crafting mats that were 1c above vendor… by the 1000’s. Once the demand increased with the festival, a lot of people unloaded their stock doubling/tripling their profits.

If you are thinking of buying to later sell, you are going to have to wait probably close to a year. The fanboys are screaming “ZOMGBBQSAUCE, they has flamez! everyone will want them” and there are a lot of people buying skins now. While, I think there is some profit in this market, it has become a much longer waiting game for smaller rewards with the wardrobe. I’ve been debating on dumping some of my skins to move onto greener pastures.

You can’t raise prices unless the BUYERS are willing to pay those prices. If the buyers are willing to pay you, then the PRICE IS FAIR!

This x1000, the market determines the price. If no one would buy at the high prices, then the price would drop. You can blame the buyers for raising the buy order prices. Everytime you overcut someone, you are just pushing the market to a higher price. The sellers just test the water with how high they can sell and how desperate people are.

If everyone formed a pact that said “I will not put a buy order more than 500g for Dusk”, then the price would be 500g….. until….. that 1 person says “To the kitten with it, I want my Dusk NOW and not wait in line with all the other 500g purchasers”, and then the dominoes fall.

Since it doesn’t cost anything to the buyer to place a buy order, you can keep your order at the top of the list, which drives the price higher and higher.

Here is my per usual market manipulation ploy – Butter, lots of Butter will be needed for cooking 500. BUYITNAOWPLOX! KTHXBAI!

Done correctly, CP is the best Champ farm in the game right now. Coordinate a map, get 8 champ bags in 7 minutes. Coordinate people, not just 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 zerg loot

1 – Could be a fresh map. Also zero tags are better than 1 in the CP. You will need 3+ (6 pref) to coordinate a gold victory.

Two runs down, haven’t seen Dredge yet. Completed a run in the 30s and 40s – I’ve seen 5 rings, 1 skin no chests.

It’s a sad truth, but low RNG encourages business in the long-term. What’s the point of playing a game if you beat it within hours?

Then they need to make fractals actually worth running beyond the rng weaps and ascended boxes. If the rewards are good then people will still run it even after they got their weapons.

I completely agree with this. Let’s say that they upped the gold to 1g|2g|3g|4g|5g for the bracket you ran, I would continue to run them after I got the skins. Heck, I wouldn’t have written this post because at least I would be rewarded for time served.

It certainly looks as though ascended weapons have had their drop rates lowered, but the sample size is not big enough to tell (at a 95% confidence interval) whether or not ascended gear is dropping more or less now. This is the 41-50 bracket, the only one with any significant pre-patch data.

If the data is reliant on user input there it is subject to unintentional bias. When is an individual more likely to remember to document their run: when they have got a drop or when they are frustrated at getting nothing?

Even assuming their data is reliable, the only thing it proves at a 95% confidence interval is that ascended weapons and fractals skins have had their drop rates reduced. While this may be frustrating for some, it does not contradict the patch notes. I personally think the increased drops of armour make up for this.

Thank you for your statistical analysis of this. If someone came to you with 95% confidence and evidence in hand that you were wrong, would you not double check?

Rox’s quiver has been around twice now, so I think that one might be shelved for a while. The grenth hood has only had one cycle in the BLTC so that one should be coming back because it will be a big money maker for them.

Someone mentioned the cursed word in the dungeon subforum…. “Fractal Weapon Box”. Besides double checking their math on the drop rates, I think this would be the next best thing. Or kitten it, why don’t they do both!

This would keep the kitten RNG but at least people could get the weapon skin they’ll actually use.

No offence to the OP as I don’t know the total fractals runs they have done, but personally ive ran fractals probably 2500+ times, never once have I gotten a fractal weapon skin, the fractal tonic, I have had 1 ascended armor chest, this is why I no longer run fractals, the rewards for time spent in there are shockingly poor, infact in my last 6 runs I did, the final chest didn’t even drop a ring,

Like it was said a few posts back, its faster to run a few dungeon paths or farm 10 champs and your likely to walk away with better drops.

Anet has never gotten the time vs reward correct in this game, Teq, Wurm for example.

Just to answer your question. I didn’t keep track of how many I ran before and after the fractured patch, but since the Fractured patch in November, I have roughly 200 completed runs in, usually two a day in the 20s/30s/40s brackets. I am just a small sample size for drop rate, which is why I referenced the hard work done by [LOD]/[SC]/[ZoS]/[Keen] keeping track of their data.

I truly love when people throw out many times they think have have completed a particular run; which is why I would like to call into question your 2500 number. Do you mean each fractal completed or whole runs. If you mean whole runs that is 6.8 complete runs a day for a year. And since you only get a daily chest once for each bracket you would have been wasting 2.8 runs/day/year. Also, your 2500 is 896 more chests opened than the 4 guilds worth of data captured in the Google Doc.

I have all the gold I need and all the armor I want, but I’m doing it for the fractal skins that allegedly drop there (and heaven forbid the tonic that I have yet to see drop for anyone). There is one thing in fractals that is unique to fractals, and that is the reason why I’m there.

I completely understand that I can do practically anything else in the game to have better drops. Completing a permanent ore run for Iron and Plat yields more gold. That is not the point. The point is clearly that the drop rate did not increase like they mentioned.

Probably some LFG/Merge party bug.

Don’t worry, the LFG tool is still in Beta as they are trying to work out all the kinks.

yeah, one of the big issues i have with these things, is when they are broken, nobody checks, until there is a public outcry. One would think they were keeping some of their own actual data, and could see when trends werent occuring as planned.

e.g. The Scarlet Slaying potions. All slaying potions were broken until they released new ones specifically for the LS and they were broken as well.

2 things working against you right now. It is close to reset and you are a ranger. I waited about 15 minutes yesterday on my warrior to full the party around the same time. I personally don’t mind rangers in my party as long as they know what they are doing and have the AR.

But now that I’m done with Fractals until they change the rewards (my thread is in general discussion), otherwise I would party up with you.

Option 1
- Have all the servers merged like EotM and you would rotate colors based on a schedule. Sure BG/JQ/TC could be teamed up for one week, but have the schedule set up where at most 2 gold league servers can be paired up on a given week. Mega server style maps, which would help with coverage and the lower populated servers.
- Leave the point system 5, 3, 1 for weekly reward. but break up the week long match into 4 hour mini matches like EotM. Each mini match would be scored 3, 2, 1 and tallied at the end of the week to determine the over all winner
-Since you will be partnered with different servers each week, your server score would be based on the score of the color.

Option 2 – Have the borderlands have different topography

Option 3 – Free transfer to the lowest ranked server so the mega wvw guilds can transfer there and rise the bottom dwellers up from the ashes.

It is more of the fact that when they say one thing but the opposite happens then there is an issue. They had a whole LS patch involving Fractals and that lowered the drop rate from the original DR. Like I said, I don’t want them dropping all the time, but something more than 2/75, which is a small sample size, but the 1.6k in the Google doc is a strong sample size.

Disagree. We play this game to play, sure, but there is nothing fun about busting your rear in a level 49 fractal and getting nothing, over and over and over again. The drop rates are broken. They need to be fixed. Or even acknowledged.

2 different things going on here.

1 – The removed pvp items and merged them with pve items. This is a way with the new wardrobe system.
2- As far as stats go, you could go into PVP with white gear lv 0 and do the same damage. All of your stats are included in whatever amulet you select.

Don’t worry Vol, relax and play the game. All that hard earned farmed loots would look great in my inventory wink wink, just send me a guild invite with Gbank permission and I can help you out :p

Happy where they are. Keeps fractals active and they drop frequently enough if You are persistent.

What do you consider persistent? I run 30s and 40s daily and I’m in a cold streak of 73 runs seeing 1 armor chest and 1 skin (rifle). In that streak was a 48 straight without seeing anything more than a ring.

Their reward system is flawed. These are dungeons and should be treated as such with more options on the vendor golem for our p. relics.

You said you got there “specifically early”, why didn’t you explore and get the 5-6 waypoints that are there? And the “per usual” is the Karka Queen spawns at one of the camps, not in the middle always. The “per usual” you speak of is a month old and has changed since the feature patch.

The problem is that if it didn’t work for the Olympics, why would it work here? Swiss match ups can go.

My streak is over! After 34 runs of nothing more than a ring, I got a skin!……… a rifle. At least it was a skin that I didn’t have before and wasn’t a 4th trident.

It’s been 18 days and I haven’t seen a drop since this post.
