WAHHHHHH!!!! expected this in a maguuma thread, haven’t had one of these since the good ol’ t1 days.

Comparing it to fort aspenwood we don’t have much forces during NA time, while we do definitely have a decent sized group we can’t really do any offensive especially on the weekend, (weekdays we do alot better). while not large our NA force is definitely organized and isn’t fairweathery in NA times we often run in a big float team with different guilds doing different objectives to achieve the same goal so we’ve learnt how to fight outnumbered and how to outmanoever the other server. Also unlike Fort Aspenwood our militia base is much larger so you will have to learn to rely on the milita much more as our guild presence isn’t much but you will often encounter guilds such as
Fang, Bane, vH, BLNT, GoTM, SoV and many more.
We don’t nesscasarily have any larger guilds none of those guilds fields above 25 on a regular basis so we rely on smaller guilds working togethor and for this reason aswell ego’s aren’t flying high because no guild feels like they are carrying the server if one guild has a night off it is definitely felt but isn’t devestating.

our Oceanic/SEA is definitely strong we have a much stronger milita force in this timezone, the largest group you will see will be the TS float team running between bl’s or EB pressuring the stronger server you will also see the deadly cb+AoA force aswell as lion skeleton crew (EU) and BEAR often roaming the bl’s. our SEA is pretty strong but our oceanic is deadly we have the largest oceanic force out there.

Devon thanks for the response but will you at least reduce map queues by 20-30% to give servers a fighting chance in their home bl’s? and to promote destacking?

I assume 4, it’s going to be the same except you’re going to have server a,b,c,d,e,f in the same league where the first week will be a vs c vs e and b vs d vs f then the week after you will have a vs b vs e and c vs d vs f then a vs d vs f and c vs b vs e etc

Seriously if you’re an NA guild considering a new home please consider us, our oceanic timezone is among the best in any server our SEA is growing and our EU is also growing we still have one of the lowest NA coverages out of any of the servers from 1-10, it will never be a easy fight for the NA guys and our NA guys have learnt how to work togethor to fight superiour numbers just ask any of our competitors.

If you are looking for a new home please message one of us in game or on forum and we’ll all give you an honest outlook on SoS none of the guilds want guilds that wouldn’t fit with what we’re trying to achieve.

so take servers 1-6 place them in a league, take 7-12 place them in a league, take 13-18 and finally 19-24

Devon said in another thread that your rewards are based on the server you’re on when the season starts, so that should help stop people from bandwagoning mid season, hopefully.

In all honesty, NA will obviously be a 3 server battle (between BG, SoR and JQ) for the gold league or whatever, there is nothing to stop people from stacking now.

The more I think of it, the more intrigued I am as to how they can even this up, if at all.

I suggest reducing map caps by 20-30%

I don’t think they are comparing the leagues against each other in terms of moving people up and down from one league to another. So, the bottom of silver league will be the exact same as the bottom of gold league and vice versa for the top. So the server at the top of gold league will get the same reward as the server at the top of silver league, because the league’s won’t be ranked against each other at all.

The leagues probably won’t be altered on the fly. They may be reorganized like once every 6 months.

Now as we also know many of the bottom tier servers are slowly dwindling in population so instead of 4 leagues of 6 servers why can’t we have 3 leagues of 6 servers cut down from 24—>18 serverscondense the population to give us more fair matches and better matches.

Just want to hear the general thoughts obviously people from the servers being cut will be given free transfers and guild buffs etc will be game bound.

This is a messed up matchup. DB’s SEA ends our Oceanic momentum and their prime time mega-Zerg will chew through EhmBay’s great defenses.

In short they’ll make us look worse than we are.

How about Ehmry? We can go back to trash talking each other next week but let’s see what we can do by focusing on DB together.

from last time DB’s SEA has decreased and SoS’s SEA has increased also we’ve received like a 100 man Eu guild aswell so that will help.

A tip to kaineng, if we’re attacking Ehmry and leaving you guys alone that means that you guys can do two things. Attack ehmry and enjoy your free ppt or defend your bl upgrading everything and bunker it down. Not attack our bl and abandon your bl so ehmry can fully cap it with very little to go to your primetime finishes which just makes it that much easier for us to fully cap your borderlands back.

In all honesty i have no idea why our NA is performing so badly this week, maybe they are taking a break or maybe because of other reasons usually we would have a queue in at least 1 bl during NA time today we couldn’t do anything because Yak’s had us outnumbered in our own borderlands.

oh, i know the reasons. Like Forzani said, na dont bother cause you guys will get it. It`s a great excuse even tho this match-up (being balanced for na time) would offer quite a few opportunities to actually do something to improve play game besides zerging. The problem is, there seems no motivation at all to improve. If it were not for other servers like these in this match-up it would give me an eye-brow raising impression of na.

But anyway, if you get oceanics and the zerg of pvgolemdoor to actually only once siege up that whole place while on it (it gives xp after all, i would even willing to chip in some stacks of siege blueprints) I will probably kiss your feet, take everything back i ever said about oceanics only karma training and being scared of ac and beg Ana to put a heart -shaped picture of you on the forum frontpage.

So far its interesting that the further the match moves along now, the faster yaks and dh are taking over. While in the last few days we still had sm when i logged after you guys, now even sm (nevermind the wp) are gone.

What i mean is our NA usually performs exceptionally well and doesn’t fairweather unlike many other servers (take a look at us facing some tougher matches you will find our relative strength quite consistent). all i meant is we are lacking in the numbers department this week and i’m pretty sure it’s because people are taking breaks because it’s an easy win. Hopefully next week when we get a tougher match our numbers will return which i’m sure it will we usually rise to the occasion.

I thank both YB and DH for bringing the fun this week. I think SoS has played servers ranked 1-15 in the last few months and I see very little difference between individual player skill levels.

I would ask gamers to consider ignoring the troll/hate posters who drop in now and then, IMHO it is better to just deny them the attention they seek.

Maybe not between individual player skills but between servers one gotta admit both dh and yaks are better oganized than sos. And as opposed to sos – who will just wait for oceanics to turn up – i have seen quite a few impressive moves from dh.
Also, yaks had a wp in hills on sos bl ….a thing sos had not managed to do.

I don’t think alot of the SEA guilds would leave as i heard somewhere it is locked so you can’t transfer in chinese servers and you can’t transfer out unlike EU-NA (there are actually ingame differences). But on the hypotehical that many SEA players/guilds do leave, SoS will be laughing.

I see you’re looking at t4-t7 if you are infact considering t3 SoS would be a good choice, if you’re looking for your guild to grow SoS would be a great choice we have many new individual arrivals every day but we still lack the guild to militia ratio, we are slowly growing but could use more organized guilds and recruitment would be great here. We have a active server wide ts3 which many guilds use to coordinate, because of our non invasive policies as a server (we won’t tell you or anyone how to run your guild) we lack the server drama many of the elite servers would experience.

I swear last night commanding on DB, there was so few people on i couldnt almost anything but try our best at defensive strategies which only worked so well vs monster zergs. At one point we got sandwiched between mag and tc… i was like, yep, were dead. Seriously though, are people that play so oblivious to doing keep and tower defense that they just run off and leave them completely undefended? I spent an hour last night re sieging up half our area and keep after getting hammered by tc.

Also… has DB lost people? I feel as though we are far weaker during the EST times lately.

Probably a combination of fairweathering and new PVE content, alot of WvW’ers are trying out the super rewarding PVE content and it doesn’t help when you’re facing an uphill battle. But honestly if you guys lose to maguuma this week it would not be very good seeing as how much you guys smashed us last week and we were able to beat maguuma.

So, would you say SoS has many zergs running around WvW, a mix of Zerg/Havoc squad, or one big zerg?

Usually on reset we plan it as having the main 50+ zerg with a 20+ guild and a 10+ havock squad simultaneously. We do like to split up our forces and there have been many times that by having the two or more forces on the map we have completely outplayed and outmanovered other servers who have equal numbers.

This would be horrible, would be very bad for servers in limo where their too strong for one tier and too weak for the other, also from t2 below the coverage difference is fairly balanced.

i will recommend the following based on what you have said

Sea of Sorrows
Maguuma
Crystal Desert
Ehmry Bay
Borlis Pass

all of them have a healthy WvW community, if you’re looking for coverage and militia strength Sea of Sorrows probably has the most followed by Crystal Desert. If you’re looking for guild focused Maguuma, Borlis and Ehmry should all be great fits.
