Don’t know what thread you’re reading mate but there has been no complaining from SOS’ers thus far. FA are fun to fight they don’t roll in map size zergs like DB

train up more commanders, i’m assuming you’re currently commanding 7 nights a week cut that down to 3 or 4 and get roughly 2-3 new commanders to command the other 3-4 nights make sure you work closely with the new commanders so they feel welcome commanding (can be intimidating leading a guild group). Also with leading a guild speak to some of your vet members to work on the admin stuff if you’re the main guild commander you shouldn’t need to do the admin work.

I think the true no.1 NA showdown was Agg vs NS, TW’s most recent GvG against RE had them scrape the victory 3-2 i’m not going against RE they are a great guild and have been improving immensely and are definitely a force to be reckoned with however i wouldn’t classify them as the top 5 NA guilds (probably top 10) whereas NS have beat guilds like kitten and Pyro in straight sets.

If there are currently any SEA oceanic guilds considering a transfer to SoS, there are massive oppotunities for your guild here to expand and grow. We have a massive militia population for the oceanic and SEA timezones and many of them are looking for WvW focused guilds pm in game or on forums if you’re interested in learning more.

yes we do well in oceanic time because relative to other servers we have a very high oceanic population, a combination of current upgrades and numbers affects how well you do in ppt.

Also Actinotus’s point was he didn’t prefer t1 and to him it is over rated which in many ways it is, the guilds are over rated before random matches everybody thought t1 was on a completely new level skill wise but when a server like TC can hang in their even when severely outmanned during oceanic/sea/eu it shows the skill level isn’t all that different.

THis thread is funny.

JQ has had the misfortune of playing against the fewest servers of any realm in NA since the game started. Never really experienced some entertaining matches against guilds on CD, EB, YB, and some on there are even complaining when they have to play against strong servers like FA, TC and DB.

On the other hand there are all these threads started by JQ people about the queues on JQ for WvW, and skill lag in T1.

T1 (which doesn’t exist anymore but let’s pass by that) is so over-rated. Some of us have moved on and are having much more fun without the QQ and the egos up there.

Yet another non-tier1 guy complaining about the skill lag of tier 1, which by the way, I only experience once a day. How is tier 1 over rated? The most organised guilds and servers are here in the closest matchup on the NA side. And we all know what you mean by ‘moved on’.

Well being in Sea of Sorrows we’re all well aware of what t1 is like so theres that and regards to the most organised guilds, Agg, qT (rekz), NS, EAT, EK, Pyro, Dorp, ME and countless others says hi.

I had a look a the SoS recruitment thread and the benefits seem too good to be true, what’s the catch?

The catch is we have no organized guild solely focused during the Eu timezone, instead you will see skeleton crews of many guilds such as FANG, End, SoV and our large militia population working togethor.

Well that’s that, nobody is crying anymore we seem pretty contempt with where we are and you arne’t in SoS anymore so you can’t make any more claims about it.

And my initial comment was in reference to Tarnished coast recruiting for t1 where i told them that it isn’t that great.

I think EU uses the true RNG (just look at some of the crazy matchups) … But I do tend to think NA is massaged a bit because of all the complaining. Otherwise we would see an eighth rank server up against a 2 or 3 server on a consistent basis like you do in EU. And you did see that initially in NA matches, but it seems to have stopped. NA RNG is far less volatile.

There is no special treatment, it’s just that the ratings are much closer in the EU bracket perhapse because all the guilds didn’t decide to stack the same servers or perhapse they have 3 more servers.

Also i think Eu uses better clients then the NA ones

Any thread with Sea of Sorrows in it won’t have much action, especially from our part. Even last week when our night coverage carried us against maguuma the thread still pales in comparison to maguuma’s thread this week.

Mag does have a good NA. If you’re looking for fights in pretty much any other timezone, you’ll probably be disappointed come Monday.

Don’t underestimate Maguuma’s oceanic and SEA coverage, let them get waypoints and you will pay. Some of the best defence out of any server i have faced SoR and TC included has been surpassed greatly by Maguuma’s oceanic/SEA skeleton crew their response time was under 30 seconds hopping bl to bl.

In the end when we were facing Maguuma last week, i felt like Maguuma is hands down the no.1 server when it comes to skill and effectively playing the ppt game.

This X1000, only reason i want to gain ranking points is so we don’t have to fight servers with little off peak coverage.

Also you’re in SoS no server below t2 can even compare to our oceanic coverage so it would become incredibly boring for us.

Dragonbrand or Blackgate, sadly Jade Quarry is going through some tough issues.
However if you want the best of both worlds i would recommend Dragonbrand as Blackgate are also full now.

Edited to add: Andrew, I think AGG could offer some nice competition, but I think they’d benefit a great deal if they went to a GvG-focused EU server for a month or two, just to see the other side of the fence and maybe pick up some new tricks. They’re pretty tough as is, but I think it’d be win-win for them.

what skill lag, blob, more lag, queues and not being able to do anything individually with your guild? i’m sure it really does suffice as a “proper” WvW experience.

SoS was never as stacked as the t1 servers are today, you should know that. At max we would have queues on 2 bl’s throughout the week and that was during oceanic prime.

Proof aswell, there were nights where we would actually fully cap the enemy bl’s where it was almost pvdoor.

DeWolfe, you’re awesome and I apologize for my swift departure. We had a transfer process in place and gave the community leaders a heads up on Sunday a week ago after we had voted as a guild. We were planning on letting the community know Friday and then transferring on Sunday after we had helped out JQ on one last reset.

However once a couple people got angry in leadership positions about where we were headed it started a fallout on both /m and /t chats. The atmosphere turned very hostile and a lot of anger ensued. I gave the go ahead to my guys to transfer early to avoid any additional drama in the situation.

Anyways I hope this week is fantastic for JQ, and see you maybe next week on the Battlefield…

what happens when servers have a larger overnight presence then NA presence, can we lock all the bl’s for NA’s because our peak time is oceanic?

Perhapse some recommendations, make this a weekly thing so once a week just having a recap of all the GvG’s with scores during that week and picking one fight in each GvG and playing that out. Then talk about changes in ranking in the gw2gvg.com site etc.

If that were the case and if I were in a guild that didn’t WVW, I would just wait at spawn. Eventually they’ll port back, or another guild would form up that I could join with. Guild tags aren’t the saving grace that people think they would be.

You missed my point, it would be a small step in order to encourage more guilds to run on their own, and hopefully separate themselves from the zoneblobbing that is currently the meta in WvW. I’ve never said it would be the saving grace that would remove the whole blobbing-fetish people seem to have, it would however, send out a message that Anet wants guilds to do things “on their own”.

Regardless, small addition, yet I doubt it’s even considered, despite being suggested a dozen times on this forum already. What exactly does that tell you?

During reset this weekend against BP and Ebay i was quite amazed, outside of EB i did not see a single zerg, not one all groups running in coordinated groups of max 30-40 was amazing.
