No it won’t, players transfer to higher tiers because they want to win. Changing the gem price for transferring has no effect on whether a server wins or not. Not to mention most higher tier servers are overflowing with gold and will pay for guilds to transfer to them making the transfer essentially free, while lower tier servers tend not to do this resulting in a system where it is actually more expensive to transfer to lower tiers than higher tiers.

So you want people to be able to pay the same price for transfering to crystal desert then jade quarry?

Currently the way gem prices and server transfers work are not working, you get servers like gates of madness paired up in the same tier (cost the same) with servers like Jade Quarry at 1800 gems, purely based on the fact of some arbitary PvE population. In reality PvE populations become non existent because of guesting so anyone can guest on say Sea of Sorrows to experience a vibrant oceanic population but say go to Blackgate to do WvW. Gem pricing should be more dependent on the tier of the server an example below.

Tier 1-2200 gems
tier2-1800 gems
tier3-1400 gems
tier4-1200 gems
tier5-1000 gems
tier6-800 gems
tier7-600 gems
tier8-400 gems
for (euro only) tier 9-300 gems

this will promote on destacking tiers 1 and 2 and will be less punishible for guilds trying out lower tiers, and punish guilds for transfering to tiers 1 and 2.

Constantly during oceanic primetime we were prodding CD to come out and have some open field fights with us with no answer back, but once they responded they responded in force. Creating this super massive Server V Server with siege warfare in open field fights. Probably the most fun i’ve had in WvW in a very very long time. definintly the best fight i’ve had. I suggest we do this every night lol and SBI you’re welcome aswell lets see how you open field fight tactics are.

Is this how tier 4 has always been? Because in tier 3 come oceanic time it would just be pvdoor and Yak’s+DB bunkering down garrison
Come to EB in the earlier NA times, or late oceanic times when they are about to log. We had the one “final” push before logging off which turned into a 3 way server battle for a good 20 minutes around the front of SBI’s keep which then went to Durios and finally ended with a last stand at Umberglade.

Lol tier 1 servers complaining about coverage is like millionairs complaining they don’t have enough money.

Look i mean, it really depends on what you want. If you want mega massive fights then head to tier 2 (stay away from tier 1 at all costs, it’s a troll infested plague of a place). If you want a tight knit community where we have a 1 man guild as he likes to call himself then i can truly recommend you to Sea of Sorrows. our NA has really come togethor in light of recent events the pugs are all tier 1 veterens and all of us just want to have fun, we don’t care about massive ego’s, we don’t really care about winning although it does make us feel better. If you want check out our website gw2.sos.com and we are in a very competitive battle in tier 4 atm.

Also if you were looking at a specific server in tier 2 Tarnished Coast is great.

SoS is just terrible, they wipe over an over in any time zone, they only build trebs like crazy in the keeps to bring the walls of SM down, and then wipe over and over in the hole they made.

I dont know if its lack of commanders or organization, numbers they have at all times zones.

As for YB they put very good battles, but I honestly think theres bad organization there, even at NA times they seems unorganized.

Again this is my perception as one who played the last couple of weeks in all time zones, no offence intended.

I really hope this is just a hiccup for blackgate, their core players are great and have some of the most skilled players, if blackgate do infact implode it will just be two powerhouses unless all of Bg’s bandwagoners bandwagon somewhere else i’m sure the core will stay.

From what i have heard the european servers are actually located in texas USA and the NA servers being in california. This would explain why europeans who transfer to NA don’t experience a massive boost in lag because the distance between the two servers isn’t vast.

- NA game server are in California
- EU game server are in Germany

You’re in blackgate a stacked tier 1 server expect it, there are about 15-18 servers below you which would love to have you with minimal queues. Ofcourse there are going to be hour long queues when people decide it’s a good idea to stack 3 servers.

This whining about 2v1 in no way represents what we as a server and our core guilds think about the situation. What we see is dragonbrand playing to their strengths and being effecient about it, this creates the illusion of a 2v1 in which Yak’s has no part in. DB are playing tactical and using Yak’s to their strength however as many of us have seen during this matchup YB is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

All in All tier 3 has shown us some of the best fighting and strategy in a long time. Respect to DB and YB from SoS

No. I suggest YB and DB guilds/players that are looking for a server with excellent PvE base and great oceanic coverage to come to SoS. NA SoS has no queues even on reset night on ANY map. Guilds are helpful and work together even for guild missions.

Our server does have a community forum in which you can find interest in posting this, (it’s highly active). I have put in your interest in a guild merge in our shoutbox to see if any other guilds are interested but it will be great seeing AoA in the community forums.

I just want to let some sea of sorrows pugs know, sea of sorrows is not going through a massive implosion we are merely losing some more hardcore WvW guilds eventually we will settle somewhere in tier 2-3 at similar strength to Tarnished Coast, Fort Aspenwood which i am really keen on versing those servers again. The majority of the guilds are choosing to stay within the server.

Hey guys i’m Rooster, some of you may know me on this forums for some of my subtle trolls, some by my score updates but i am here to discuss a pressing issue that is emerging in tier 1 NA. This is not about the current score or the domination of Jade Quarry but rather the antagonization and unhealthy propaganda that is going on to purposely destroy other tier 1 servers communities.

Currently the amount of trolling, personal abuse and antogonization that is going on behind the scenes in the current tier 1 community is redicilous and appalling, never have i ever in my video game history witnessed such desperate attempts to bring down A server through such horrible propaganda.

I will start with my current server Sea of Sorrows, or some may internally refer to ourselves as #SeaofSwag. Currently the situation is not great we lost two guilds and are attempting to rebuild our community, however the negative propaganda from certain sites and individuals is making this extremely difficult. I will refer to an exhert from the community site Guild wars 2 junkies which spreads random false rumors about guilds leaving.

“*Reset night in T1 is starting out with some interesting news; in short the Sea of Sorrows (SoS) drama continues to unfold.

As they prepare to enter reset, they are currently involved in heated internal fights. Multiple sources have confirmed that the catalyst for the internal fighting today is TSYM GM, name of GM*. " However more despicable is this post included screenshots of Sea of Sorrows private chatbox which the site may have recieved intel from, which is considered spying.

Now the problem with posts such as this one is they specifically antagonize certain guilds and individuals as the root of the problem. this puts unnescsary pressure on the guild and an immense and unhealthy amount of pressure on the individual which i will say has done alot for the sea of sorrows community. Now the site didn’t mention why the outburst occured, it just focused on the outburst its self.

That is just one example of many of negative propaganda in attempts to implode a server which in my opinion is disgusting.

Now i will move onto Jade Quarry, upon post of this thread i had consulted with a prominant Jade Quarry GM about the issue and he had told me that the issue was affecting his guild aswell, where he explains that certain unknown individuals had made personal attempt at undermining the guild with personal attacks which put a financial strain within the guild due to resources on repairing the damage done.

So the current situation in tier 1 NA is horrible, the community and lack of sportsman ship is redicilous and when i heard of notable guilds being attacked personally and my server being repeatedly bombarded with propaganda which causes a rift and strain within the community about who’s next to leave it’s not healthy.

My solution lets leave this way of recruitment, the battle should be fought in the battlefield not through gossip i honestly don’t understand why some individuals would stoop so low just to bring down certain servers and attempt to create negative rifts within communities which affects personal life especially in the case of the Jade Quarry guild where the actions of some caused them to throw real life money and resources for them to repair it.
Lets all just have some fun, don’t worry about the score stop trying to undermine servers and stop spreading unnescssary rumors and gossip

In a real war, sabotage, subterfuge, spying, and lies are all fair game. “exploits” and “hacks” are also fair game to those players that are willing to risk their accounts to gain the upper hand to win the war.

ArenaNet may patch up some exploits and hacks. But rumors and gossip? I don’t you’ll ever stop that.

Sabotage, subterfuge, spying, and lies are actually alright. But spamming SBI commanders with hateful private messages? Going onto SBI’s TS server and trash talk everyone? How low and classless can some people get? This is just a game ……

Your server used to be #1 yes, and so was Stormbluff Isle and Henge of Denravi. So their days were numbered and they fell down eventually. It’s a natural cycle.

I love how you say this in a derogatory way, like your server is above PvDooring. But just today when you took all of JQ BL, you did when you had 50+ people and JQ had 10~. That’s about as PvD as you can get.

Anyway, my reason for posting is not to laugh at you, really. It’s to yell at the JQ community. You guys are bad and you should feel bad. Today I was ashamed to be a part of JQ. This is the first time in like a month I’ve played WvW in the NA afternoon, and I was appalled at how effing terrible you all are. EMP failed to mount any sort of offense a few times and gave up. 90% of the players in the maps I was on wouldn’t get on teamspeak or listen to directions. And worse than that, the big guilds weren’t even in the BL channels on TS like they were to good to hang out with people not in their guild.

JQ, seriously, this is not how you win. Quit being pathetic, start working together, and communicating with each other. And for Gods sake, quit turning and running the moment the enemy has people around who want to attack you. That’s the fastest way to die.

All that talk of SOR besting JQ in NA time is true. I’m glad I played today at this time to see it for myself. JQ NA is pathetic, I even got to hear some drama in-server fighting on teamspeak, it was great. And remember, no matter how much those JQ guilds say crap like “we’re in it for the points,” if you ask me, from what I see, they just gave up and ran away. It’s a good thing you guys have FoO to carry you, cause Wahas crew actually knows how to fight people of equal numbers and put up points.

I’m aware that I’m angry right now with how bad JQ did tonight, and that this post will probably get deleted, but hopefully some people see it, and it makes them shape up, stop making excuses, and try to better the server. Because at this rate, it won’t be long before a bunch of people get tired of JQ and transfer off. I know if I played WvW at this time of day, every day, I would of left a long time ago.

One last thing, if you SOR people are “just in it for the fights” what is stopping you from chasing your desired guilds you want to fight across maps? If JQ, the king of Queues can move whole guilds across maps during NA prime time, why can’t you? Is it because your server is stacked during NA time and JQs aren’t?

Welcome to “constantly winning tier 1 club” where winning no longer becomes an accomplishment but an expectation, and the moment your ppt is low all the PVE’rs start complaining “Da hell, i like transferred here coz i thought it was stabal why we loseing”. Happened to sea of sorrows and sooner or later it will happen to Jade Quarry, i just hope for the sake of competition Jade quarry comes out on top.

So i guess the excuse this week is “we pwn you 1v1 noob JQ”.

Tier 1 is not balanced right now 3 days in and JQ is already winning by 40k points, sure us and SoR don’t belong in tier 1 anymore because we just can’t compete. We’re both tier 3 servers at best.

By the way if you want i can throw you an invite to Team Shatter we boast over 400 active players and are looking for dedicated members during the NA timeslot.

Okay i will explain it to you,

Sea of Sorrows is definintly in the top 3 NA servers at the moment, so no the server isn’t dying right now we have a very large PVE community and a rebuilding WvW force with a tight knit community. Unlike some of the other servers we have alot of smaller WvW guilds coming togethor as one rather then 10-20 powerhouse guilds cough JQ. We currently hold somewhere around 30-50% of the Australian players in Guild Wars 2 many of them doing PVE. I would recommend SoS because we cater to PVE players heavily we aren’t going downhill currently places second in tier 1 and we we do need some extra players to compete with JQ.

Seeing as no one has posted in defence of this issue i just want to let all of those on Sea of Sorrows know that the server is not going downhill, yes we had a hiccup and lost two guilds but when the dust cleares i believe we will be a stronger server. Essentially it’s a blessing in disguise because it’s making us work harder and become more united ie leading us to finally kickstart some schemes that should have been implemented along time ago.

With season 1 coming to a finish WvW has seen many ups and down, the fall of Henge of Denravi and Eredon terrace were a major factor and as equally as devestating the rise of Sea of Sorrows. So with the end of the season have arrived we will look at which servers remained consistantly at top and ultimately who is the victors of Season 1.

How the points will be tallied is how many medals each server has earned, earning a medal requires a placement in tier 1.

Gold medal earns ten points.
Silver earns 5 points
Bronze earns 3 points.

(Note. Season 1 began when weekly matches began and ended the week of Feb 1st.)

We will begin with Europe

In third place we have

Seafarers rest, with three gold medals, three silver and one bronze equallying 48 points.

In Second place we have

Blacktide with 4 gold medals, zero silver and three bronze equallying 49 points. (they just nudged above SFR)

In First place we ofcourse have Vizunah square which dominated the Euro scene during season one. Vizunah ended the season with 8 gold medals, 8 silver and two bronze earning a total of 126 points almost tripling second place.

Now onto the NA scene.

in third place we have:

Stormbluff Isle
with 4 gold medals, 3 silver and 6 bronze medals equalling a total of 73 points.

The difference between second and first in NA is only within fractions of points.

In second place had 99 points and 1st had 100 points.

In second place we have Jade Quarry

earning a total of 4 gold,10 silver and 3 bronze.

Now Sea of Sorrows taking the NA leaderboard with a total of 100 points recieving 9 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 0 bronze medals.

So Sea of Sorrows takes 1st place in Season 1 NA and Vizunah Square taking 1st place in Euro.

Season 1 has been a turbelent season with many ups and downs with the coming of paid transfers we shall see who ends up on top when season 2 kicks into gear.

I think it is 500 total players / 4 maps / 3 servers = 42 players per server per map.

That’s impossible, we have had around 50-60 guildies on the same map with around an extra 20-30 other members with the borderlands having a 15 min queue. (this was our special WvW event mind you) so i would say it would actually fluctuate between 70-100 per map.

Except that when most people moved they were unhappy with their current servers and saw a new home within Sea of Sorrows, togethor we have made it the most organized community within the game and have the statistics to prove it. That’s why we’re here for each other because we know it works.

If I were interested in joining SoS that might be relevant. More to the point, people want to join competitive servers. To face strong populous servers, on a strong populous server.

This is not just a problem with JQ or SoS, it’s the entire top two tiers, and more besides. And server performance isn’t really even being protected, people continue to sneak in thanks to blackouts — ANet seems to have decided that they’re best served by pretended server transfers are available and making the hoops you have to jump through as asinine and difficult as possible, to keep numbers down.

God kittening forbid they just say “pay us ten bucks to get on the server you want”.

That list isn’t really accurate many of those servers often jump from full to very high, plus i don’t know what anet are doing but darkhaven full? come on.

out of those servers the only ones who are full worthy are SoS,JQ,Tarnished coast, SoR and blackgate(maybe). And what you would notice is many of those servers will often jump from very high to full but trying to get into any of the full worthy servers will be a pain in the behind.
