SBI is a highly skilled server i can definitely vouch for them that they are tough competitive kittens! with CD recently receiving KWBH i think SBI would need the coverage to keep up so if you want to go to SBI then i can definitely recommend it obviously i’m not in SBI so can only see their WvW from a external position.

I have played in Tiers 1 through 5 during my time in GW2. while I only have around 2000 hrs played, the vast majority of my time is played in WvWvW.

As a previous MERC, I saw a variety of large scale battles and learned a number of different tactics. It was a lot of fun. I still am involved in full map force vs map force battles, just not ever day now and the total numbers are usually lower.

IMHO, there is very little individual skill lvl difference between tiers. IMHO, Large scale tactics can be learned very quickly and IMHO, 1-2 leaders can make all the difference in battles.

IMHO, the enjoyment factor is personal and I am enjoying T4 as much as I enjoyed T1.

I think it is valid to say that some people prefer smaller scale and lagless fights over large scale and laggy fights. If that’s all you want then lower tier servers is the right place for you.

However, those epic 60vs60 battles are only found in higher tiers. Only those who have tired that, and then hate it, can know for sure that those epic fights are not for them.

We get regular 60v60 matches in tier 4.

I’m sorry i don’t understand the point of this thread, if you’re trying to recruit all of us into higher tiers then you’re doing a bad job. Also to say that just because your guild is in tier 1 or 2 doesn’t nescasarily mean it’s superiour to a tier 4 guild. The guild i’m in jumped to tier 1 with SoS then jumped back down to tier 4 with SoS were we magically superiour in tier 1 then we are now, god no! infact the opposite we’re fielding almost twice the numbers twice as often as we were in tier 1. The point i’m trying to make is that to say tiers 1 and 2 are more competitive is infact a true statement however to say that the guilds or individuals are more skilled is completely false it’s just that there are more guilds in tiers 1,2.

Look if finding Australians to play with is difficult for you try guesting and finding a guild on Sea of Sorrows durign that timezone as Sea of Sorrows is the unofficial australian NZ server also on my tag is a link to our website with a datatbase of all the active guilds have a browse through that i’m sure you will find plenty of Australian guilds to your liking.

I seriously don’t understand why zergs are a problem, WvW is advertised as open scale massive pvp which involves 30v30,50v50 even 70v70, if you want to do roaming then roam between spawn camps slap yaks hit supply camps. If you can’t move anywhere without a zerg catching you drop down from tiers 1-2 and make yourself useful. In war it’s usually the sides with the most numbers win same applies here.

Really not necessary Azure. our winning is coverage based. I have said it before and I will again. The skills per population of this tier is higher than any of the others I have been in.

I of course can only speak for myself, but i never really hear our people dissing our opponents on map chat… Unlike in t3 when db and yb would run and hide from big fights so badly that it caused another two of our guilds to leave from boredom.
Always good fights to be had with cd and sbi.

Would have to agree, t3 was pvdoor but t4 actually provides competition during oceanic time, both CD and SBI play a awesomely fun meta of open field fights rather then bunkering down i remember Yak’s wasn’t that bad but i remember Dragonbrand did this and it was extremely annoying.

After having put in around 12-14 hours in WvW since the patch and taking alot of towers and keeps that are well defended, theres really no problem here. It just takes some adjustments now and you need to think about what your doing before you do it. WvW has been designed to be easy mode for a long time. The arrowcarts force you to think tactically and to play smart. The reality is there are just alot of casuals who play this game and aren’t half as good at it as they think they are and since they have tunnel vision and the karma train mentality built into them they fail to adapt and get wiped. I hope Anets developments keep going the way they are. Im all for implementing tactics and skill to be a part of WvW and getting rid of this zerg mentality that people have become accustomed to.

And what’s wrong with WvW trying to be casual in that respect, guild wars 2 WvW was promoted to be a casual game we don’t need elitists trying to advocate a more tactical approach when that tactical approach is boring, i want to have fun fighting people accomplishing things not trebbing for hours on ends trying to take that fortified wall down, because you can’t catapult (ac) can’t ram (ac) can’t even get ballistas to take out the ac’s because ya know ac’s.

All this does is just limits the types of way you can siege certain structures, hills you have one option, trebs. Seriously way to promote anti-fun mechanics Anet.

I’d have to recommend Sea of Sorrows aswell, the reality is we are going up to tier 3 and against Mags and Yak’s and we need NA coverage to be able to compete, if you would like to know during NA at the moment we are typically outmanned on 1 or 2 bl’s throughout the week and reset queues are almost non existentent with the occasional queue on EB during reset. So if tier 4 is a worry because of maybe zergs or queue times there are none, we definitely have the offpeak coverage to match your needs we just need the NA coverage so that’s where you can help us out =)

We all know that success in WvW depends on sheer numbers. It’s not even debatable. The bigger zerg wins, the more heavily stacked server wins. That’s WvW. So what is everyone bragging about? I hope we at SoR, or on Blackgate, or on Jade Quarry, are not under the impression we’re more skilled than anyone else? Please…

You disagree? Please indicate to me a server with a low, medium or heavy population that has ever beaten 2 “Very Heavy” population servers, and then climb into a higher tier. Regale me with stories of how this plucky server with next to no coverage was able to claw its way to victory through sheer skill and strategy alone.

He is actually right, though SFR had a low PvE population which gave it it’s medium status it has an incredibly high WvW population with queues on all four borderlands similar to their competitiors who were on very high status.

Anything from tiers 3-8 has alot of roaming in the borderlands, EB is till predominantly zerging but in the bl’s i know tier 4 you won’t find a group over 30 people, mostly multiple groups of 20 or so during reset.

How else are you meant to try to stop siege capping?

Not everyone shares your view of being “loyal” to a server for the entirety of the game. Some people find that honorable and some simply don’t care where they end up as long as they are having fun in the server they’re in.

All the while harming perfectly fine servers and communities, making people choose between friends/guild and fubaring the matchups for quite a while as the system slowly works it out.

Question. Why do we have to care about harming a server and community? Why do we have to sacrifice our guild and fun to a community that is already dying? We are real people that spent real money on a game to have our kind of fun. kitten honor and loyalty to servers. We’re here for competitive WvW, GvG, ZergvZerg. T3 won’t have that for us. It wasn’t thoughtless or selfish. Selfish would be making my guild sit in a dying server while most of our guild members want to move out. Our responsibility as a guild is our guild not a server.

Alright this smear campaign against Rawnoodles and the EMP which transfered needs to stop, who cares if he transfered from JQ we don’t need all this drama going public. Atleast he had the respect to rename a new guild knowing that many EMP are staying on JQ, i see this as more him creating a new guild on a different server which is completely legit. To those JQ which are dissapointed with the transfer think back on how SBI, SoS, CD, IoJ felt when you all transfered stop being hypocrits the fact remains that he has stated he transfered part of EMP to broaden the horizens this means starting new on a new frontier not vsing the same opponents every week but vsing a new dynamic opponents every week, it’s not about running away because their scared of TW or abandoning JQ because they don’t have the NA coverage it seems to be more about experiencing WvW without the massive zergfest and stagnation that is tier 1. Also those questioning why Dragonbrand, Why not Dragonbrand they are one of the most respectful and skilled opponents i have ever faced.

Team Shatter [TS] are actively recruiting WvW’ers during the NA and Oceanic timeslot, we currently reside on sea of sorrows a Tier 3,4 server and boast an active playerbase of over 350+. We are a very established guild having been going out strong every night/day for about 7 months and we don’t plan to falter any time soon, we are a guild full of server loyalty which is why we didn’t follow the bandwagon out of Sea of Sorrows and we care more alot about having fun.

Our population is spread evenly during NA and Oceanic however our WvW is more active towards oceanic times however we plan to boost our NA WvW by actively recruiting NA WvW’ers who are willing to take intiative. We use the server teamspeak on weekends and guild teamspeak during weekdays. We actively use the guild and server website and the guild and server teamspeak. Thanks champ, Dragonbrand is one of those special servers which tier 1 guilds always overlook but finally you waited patiently and you got a awesome guild in EMP, hopefully we can attract something similar aswell =)

Overall i think what EMP and Rawnoodles is doing is very noble, the current state of WvW is unhealthy and de-stacking the tier 1 servers and distributing the populations towards tier 3-4-5 servers will help. Having 6 competitive tier 1 servers is alot better than 2.

If any body is travelling to Sea of Sorrows alone, their are plenty of guilds to choose from.

The guild that i am in Team Shatter [TS] are infact currently recruiting for those WvW focused people, we are a large International PVX guild with 350+ members across NA and Oceanic/SEA timezones check out our website if you are interested.

Sea of Sorrows is a reslient and close community, we all have respect for each other as we all swayed the temptations of bandwagoning and decided to help re-build the community and fix our problems rather than run from them. If any small ops guilds in the high tiers are even slightly annoyed with Queue times/zergs/lag/not being able to do anything with less than 30 people just give one of us a pm ingame or a message or email.

So essentially we’re back to square one again, Jedash make your call!

HEY GUYS! i just found this really cool trick that completely gets rid of skill lag it’s called transfer down tiers. After tier 2 skill lag is almost nonexistent no sympathy towards tier 1 servers complaining that there are too many people.
