honestly i think it’ll fix its self, this burn fad is just because its a shiny new toy we haven’t had before, i think people will slowly move away from it.
because a nerf to zerkers like power rangers, wars and thieves is exactly what is needed in this condi meta with invisible mesmers and unkillable eles.

loads of CC from tangling roots, maybe some area denial from deployable toxic spores and some sort of “healing spring” ability.

i had pretty much the same build when i was playing around with perma stealth,
really fun though massively impractical
the hate whispers you get when you kill someone is beautiful
pet swap, weapon swap, RAPID FIRE!
(with fury, might, quickness and a 3 second recharge)
notice the OP said OUT OF COMBAT.
so its not a buff at all, its just a quality of life change,
for those of us sick of manually switching weapons in our inventory!
its good to see that most of us agree that PVEers should keep their unique rewards, shame PVEers don’t share our mentality, you’ll see a request for our Tribal Armour every dam day in the general forums!
imho a balanced class in an MMO should have 2 aspects, survival and damage.
as the survival goes up the damage should go down
as the damage goes up the survival should go down.
middleground survival should yield middleground damage.
i’m all for a class being able to nuke people in 2 seconds, as long as that person dies the moment they look at him!

as a gw1 player i’m putting my money on stances too,
they were one of the few classes with stances in the original game.
it’d be very shocking if they didn’t give rangers stances.
as blitzkrieg said, their traps are more about utility than damage, if you could run trap runes and stay stealthed while laying down aoe death it would be ridiculously OP.
Hitting 5 targets every attack at best applies 3 stacks of burning…. and to one of the targets… 1 or two stacks to some of the others.

like i said grab the 2 Virtue of Justice traits so it procs every 3 attacks and applies aoe burn.
i imagine it’d be hilarious for pve zergs, for pvp though you can stack burns waaay higher than this on single target.
so what you’re saying is you can stack a burn on someone and then sit their cackling like “You’re gonna be in real trouble in 45 seconds!”
when burn stacked duration you could use as many burn skills as you like, heck, get 2 minutes of burn stacked up! you’ll still be doing the same damage each seconds as you would from applying one burn.
now you can really lay on the pain, wanna see something HILARIOUS?
spec for burns, grab the 2 traits that effect virtue of justice (aoe, and proc every 3 hits) and take a staff to the big group of training dummies, its a beautiful sight to behold!
early on the game was 8v8 and it was the most fun i’ve had in pvp, unfortunately now its only 5v5.
people who exploit kindness to effectively steal money should all be perma banned.
in my opinion its scamming, extremely toxic scamming, people are turning their hard earned currency over to them, thinking they’re doing them a massive favour and ending their grind for a legendary, but in reality they’re just making tons of cash by exploiting kindness, we don’t need them in our playerbase!
an axe/axe war with signets and Signet Mastery can but out some awesome deeps, i even play it in unranked pvp for the pure damage
i want endless combat tonics like in GW1
it reinvigorated the game for me, i made an ele called “Jadefire Hatchling” and played through the whole game as a mini kuunevang (using dragon themed skills)
would love to do that for GW2

any class with burn can stack it high and fast,
play a trapper ranger with a torch and you’ll ruin peoples day,
play a burn guard and stack 10 burns in seconds watch it tick for 4k damage a second…
i played exclusive hotjoin since release (hit rank 80 a long while ago from hotjoin alone)
but since the new UI and queues i was under the impression that Unranked was the new Hotjoin so i’ve been playing there instead.
you can still use them but they’ve been heavily hit with the nerf bat,
everyone QQed so now another build is pretty much gone.
they don’t have the 15% damage trait or the auto regen trait, or the ground targeting trait and they’re now critable (but still can’t deal crits).
Items are added and removed from many games ALL the time, people need to just deal with it. You missed an opportunity, oh well. Move on to the next fad.

theres plenty of amazing PVE items that i missed because i’m a PVPer,
and i’m perfectly fine dealing with that, while i envy them for having things like wings of the sunless, they earned their reward, they can keep them!
they should just make them transmuteable items.
their whole reason for not doing so back when the feature pack happened was that they didn’t want confusion about what weight armour people were wearing,
I.E a warrior running around in cloth could confuse people.
but it seems like thats no longer a valid reason anyway since you can have your warrior wearing cloth and your ele wearing plate
If you guys want to take away prestige for PvPers lets make it fair and remove it for PvEers too. Lets see how many agree to that.

there is very little prestige in GW2 at the moment,
legendaries?! there is nothing legendary about them, go to a regular hangout spot and you’ll see 15 guys using the same “legendary”.
the only small facets of prestige comes from items that are no longer obtainable,
you had to be there to get them.
people should stop seeing unobtainable items as a downside,
they’re something to make the game worth playing,
for instance i’ve not really bothered with S2 “unique items” because i already know they aren’t going to be rewarding, special, or prestigious they’ll be available from a laurel vendor or by other trivial means.
is there anything that we can have that is unique in this game?!
i was one of the people who farmed our butts off to buy a Greatsaw in 2012,
people moaned and nagged and eventually they were given away last year.

old unobtainable rewards are an integral part of MMos imho,
they’re prestigious items that get more prestigious the longer you play,
let us keep our armour, it shows that we were there PVPing before the merge.
PVEers have their wings of the sunless and all the other unobtainable items (like Air Filtration Mask) and i’m prefectly fine with that, i’d like to have them, but i understand that i wasn’t there killing Teqatl to earn them, or beating the tower of madness to get the Air Filtration Mask, so i don’t have them.
and thats fine, you can keep your rewards, i’ll keep mine!

WE screamed against Stronghold when it was tested last time. Why put this lousy PvE map in our pvp? Honestly, your player base already said NO and you just ignore them, waste your time and resources and give us a map that clearly we do not want.
because you will play what they tell you to play! don’t like it, shut up and play it!

the last 2 abominations they added Campyard and Suckhammer were forced into the unranked rotation and there they remain.
I find it quite fun watching a whole team die from the treb. If you are dumb enough to stay in one spot to get hit by it, over and over and over. It’s your own fault. I got called a noob and cheap for trebing the whole enemy team while they where at out gate with door beakers. Me the treb and one other guy held them for the whole game.
It’s quite simple folks L2P. I hate stealth. Don’t see me asking it to be taken out of the game.
stealth is a class mechanic,
clicking 2 to AoE down the entire enemy team from 3000 is not.
it’s just something that ruins otherwise fun maps.
as fun as it would sound it would make PVP P2W
try putting your baby hippo up against someone with a giant world boss smashing down doors like the Karka Queen :P
the devs can’t help ordering cheese with their map.
just look at Suckhammer ‘ahem’ Skyhammer with the insta kill KBs and the giant previously undodgeable oneshot cannon…
the reason Foefire and Forest are so popular is because they have very little cheese.
but for some reason the devs can’t seem to help themselves!…
so you can either:
use both stealths together to regain twice the amount of recharge quickly.
or use mesmer stealth after the blast stealth to regain twice the amount anyway and longer stealth?
why would you? you’re getting the same recharge you just get longer time in stealth if you use one after the other.
we have literally THOUSANDS of complaints in a thread once upon a time, but they simply ignored it and then i guess people got tired of complaining,
after a year of ignorance from the devs we obviously weren’t going to get it removed,
anet are to kitten stubborn for that.

try getting across the map in a LITERAL INSTANT
for the healing this is down to mantras now recharging while you have charges, so you can have your 3 heals ready to go, and then stealth and use 3 more, there is never a moment where you feel like you need to wait for high healing.
if you want to do an absolutely disgusting amount of damage you can also run zerker amulent and full signets (for that extra power and precision) XD
it has 0 survivability, 0 stealth and tiny health.
but 20k unloads in 3 seconds are just too dam fun

what remains?
axe, dagger, mace, pistol, sword, focus, warhorn, rifle, torch, scepter
of those what can’t thief already use?

i certainly can’t see a thief using maces, torches, warhorns, focuses or scepters.
so its down to axe and rifle, and of the 2 i’d more expect rifle since the class is already seen as a competent melee class. (and other specs we’ve seen seem to like mixing it up)
has anyone come up with some ideas or builds that could possibly make up for the loss of Ricochet?
spec in the power tree, the crit tree and the steal recharge tree,

grab everything damage related and you’ll be pumping out 20k dmg in 3 seconds with unload
i really do miss ricochet, but the new fury and quickness traits make for some pretty epic burst and overall A LOT more single target damage than before.
i love my 8k autos from rampage now

while i agree the removal of Ricochet really sucks,
the new fury traits combined with quickness makes for some pretty monstrous burst in pvp
you’re pretty much doing 20k dmg in 3 seconds
if you all decided to go condi spec then you should be prepared for certain traits that will ruin your day.
thats the reason for variety.
all classes have access to amazing burst builds now, dealing 1-2k dmg to an ele should be no problem.
“but all 3 of us want to spam condis and watch things melt!” isn’t really a valid reason to nerf diamond skin unfortunately.
TLDR: don’t all spec for condi spam.
prepare for the flood of tears tomorrow when you can use rapid fire twice within seconds if specced right XD
(changing weapons makes your next skill recharge 60% faster)
