i love the look of the thief changes, however my absolute favourite build is p/p glass cannon and there is absolutely no mention of ricochet in the patch notes :O

the ranger changes were pretty incredible:
to name a few:
defensive traits giving 33% less damage above 90%,
attacks causing weakness and giving protection (thats MASSIVE mitigation)
5% less damage whenever you have regen, and tons of passive regen.
1500 longbow range and 100% faster velocity by default
spike trap will now knockdown (letting more condi ticks stack up)
damage is more front loaded and punishing now
traits allow for more poison and bleed damage,
all traps apply cripple (making it take longer to get out)
60% faster trap recharge (alot faster than current iirc)
general pet buffs, all stats up 150
call of the wild on weapon swap (might fury swiftness)
66% faster skill recharge on weapon swap!
combine these 2 traits and you can let off a nasty rapid fire, and then another rapid fire 4 seconds later (20 stacks of vuln and a TON of damage)
throwing traps gone…BUT you now knockdown with spike trap and deal 33% more damage with poison and bleed through traits, AND all of your traps cripple.
plus you take A THIRD less damage above 90% health,
plus 5% less damage whenever you have regen,
and when they hit you you cause weakness and gain prot.
how are you not buzzing with anticipation for this?
its like tanky condi heaven.
i once did 23k dmg to a mesmer with 100b (before the might nerf)
now it hits for around 19-20k if i get the whole thing off in perfect conditions.
a melee damage buff would be hilarious for those of us that play zerker builds XD
if you want TRUE perma stealth then you will be pretty much useless, but it is doable.
all you need to do is grab every non-hostile initiative regen trait you can,
use stealth utilities with d/p, blackpowder heartseeker, you can heartseeker through the black powder several times.
make sure you have auto target off, if you hit something, stealth ends.
throw in caltrops for a bit of damage!
i’ve actually killed afew people with hilariously high stacks of bleed, all the while remaining completely invisible, its pretty fun for trolling XD
i like that there are actually some things in the game that aren’t recycled, small trophies that show you were there,
they’re a key part in MMOs imho, and GW2 seems to have so few of them,
and just when you think you have one…they rerelease it and make it trivial to achieve. (looking at you karka backpack available from the laurel vendor…)
i’m just curious if this is intended mechanics on PvP maps or not…

we had a giant post of over 2000 comments voicing our disdain and hatred for that abomination that never should have made it live, but anet simply ignored it…and it seems everyone has given up trying to get that abomination removed from rotation.

yes insta death falling is unfortunately an intended “feature”.
they can ban quitters when they ban people for picking skyhammer.
aslong as people are still picking skyhammer, i’m still quitting!

lol i was playing a true-perma stealth caltrop thief afew months back (just for the lulz)
it would be hilarious if it became meta,
a whole team of invisible thieves stacking 25 bleeds on point XD
it used to be 8v8 for a while after release, imho it was the peak of pvp fun
the problem with the current deathmatch map is that its so small and there is only one respawn point, EVERY match will go the same way.
1.both teams move as a zerg
2. both teams fight, there may be respawns but at some point one team will dominate.
3. the dominant team camps the enemy spawn point.
firstly, the map should be bigger so a jumbled zerg mess is less likely.
secondly, there should be multiple spawn points that players spawn from, either by choosing or by random.
side note, courtyard is nowhere near as bad as the gimmicky junk that is Skyhammer, how that map is still in unranked rotation i do not know…
the easiest solution would be removing these gimmick maps from rotation, there may be a small handful of people who are disappointed by the change,
but the vast majority will be throwing a celebratory party that they no longer need to worry about seeing campyard or suckhammer pop up in the wheel
(knowing that one idiot will always pick it, and it will always get picked by the not-so-random wheel.)

if not, then i feel sorry for you getting the 4v5
skyhammer and courtyard shouldn’t be in the unranked rotation.
courtyard 9/10 times will end with one team spawn camping the other,

i play fun builds, so it sucks either way,
either i play unranked and risk people picking Suckhammer and Campyard,
or i play ranked and get yelled at by the meta clones for not assimilating.

i’f i’m really bored i have a PERMA INVIS build i use that just uses bleeds from caltrops and dodge rolls lol, can get quite high stacks of bleeding while remaining 100% invisible forever, its mostly just a build for trolling.
mesmer:
phantasm zerker using traited focus
ranger:
longbow/traps hybrid
(hits a little less direct damage than straight up longbow zerker, but the extra burning, bleed, poison, cripple and immobilize make up for it :P)

its nowhere near as kittenuckhammer, but it always ends the same.
one team camping the other teams spawn and winning 500 V less than 100.
people who vote for skyhammer in map selection,
one person voting for skyhammer, 7 for another map, skyhammer getting selected,
skyhammer still being in rotation after 2000 comments begging it to be canned,
playing on skyhammer,
skyhammer.
this is ridiculous.
tonight i’ve had both sides, i’ve had a guy who claimed “we can’t win” (but stuck with it) when the enemy had more points and a higher score early on…we won. and he said he was happily wrong.
and on the other side, i had a guy called Daeg simply say “we’ve lost gl guys!” who leached for the rest of the match, we obviously lost the 4v5.
the first 3 minutes of a 10 minute game only determine the outcome if you let them.
Mesmer and ranger interrupt builds… so much gw1 nostalgia right now.
Broad-Head Arrow was my go-to skill when casters where annoying the hell out of me in fort aspenwood :P

with the recent Ready up it seems that the devs are showing attention to silly unclassified things, Healing breeze is becoming a shout, Shelter becoming a Consecration etc,
so i think it would be a perfect time for Anet to FINALLY make Smite the symbol it was born to be!
what is Smite?
Smite is the 2nd Scepter skill it places a blue AoE on the ground that damages foes.
why should Smite be a symbol?
most other guardian weapons (with the exception of sword) have a symbol attached to them, Mace, Hammer, Greatsword, Staff, they all have a symbol!
Scepter is missing a symbol, yet has a ground targeted AoE that is unaffected by symbol traits!
i just feel it would make so much sense for smite to become a symbol
one of the upcoming changes outlined in ready up Ep 32 was a new Beast mastery grandmaster trait called “Beastly Warden” which causes pet F2 abilities to cause “Taunt” which causes targets to involuntarily move towards the caster.
the fear will be telling the enemy to run away and the taunt will be telling the enemy to come closer!
sooo my question is, if a wolf uses howl, which way will the enemy go?
it was 8v8, and it was deemed far too fun.
i can’t remember the last time moa killed me, usually i’m grateful to the mesmer for giving me a free evade skill that gets me to cover so i can heal up :P
its a shame they can only great me this awesome evade skill once every few mins.
one of the strongest builds i play is power/well/lifesteal,
admittedly i don’t play ranked, but it has no problem with 2v1s or even some 3v1s, in unranked, and its really really easy!

basically precast the staff Marks on the point and then switch back to dagger/warhorn,
ALWAYS use Locust Swarm it deals so much AoE damage when used with life steals,
rush the enemy root them, cast both wells and then banshee wail, now either auto attack or go to death shroud for 4+5 then 1 1 1 1 spam.
like i said, really easy build and its really strong
great synergy between lots of fast ticks of damage, causing life steal and critting granting life force which can then be used to spam 100% crit chance DS skills that hit hard!
sorry, but if you have a problem with AI builds then you’d have absolutely HATED some GW1 builds, minion masters (atleast until the very late patches) had no limit to the amount of minions they could summon, all they required was a corpse,
in pve this meant that as a MM you only needed your group to get the ball rolling, after that you could pretty much solo the rest of the map :P
plus IMHO spirit ritualists were 10x worse than turret engis,
perma blind mixed with damage that can 2 shot you?
that all being said, i do agree that GW1 pvp generally felt alot better balanced,
if a particular build was annoying you, lets say those vermin Backfire/Empathy mesmers! you could create a build to counter it, maybe a ranger with attack speed increase and Broad Head Arrow (one of my favourite skills in the game)
plus the maps…they were all great and basic, no kitten SKYHAMMER

if the team listened then there would be more players.

but if you try logging in on any character you get put back in that infernal map.
this is mostly related to skyhammer,
why don’t we have an option to leave, give us dishonourable but let us leave!
as it is, when skyhammer unfortunately pops we cannot avoid it,
we must either attempt to tolerate it or AFK for 15 minutes,
relogging doesn’t work, switching chars doesn’t work.
do you intentionally want people to be stuck in the map that never should have been made? sending rage tells to the PVEer that picked it?
let us leave, give us a stack of dishonour, but let us leave…

edit for the devs: when we abandon our team on this piece of s%%t map it means we’re willing to accept the debuff, we don’t want to have to sit through the entire game and if we try to relog we get put back in suckhammer….
just give us the debuff and let us carry on with decent maps.

i dunno, i like to play staff ele glass zerker (specced for 5k meteor showers and 4k lava font ticks) seeing a turret engi is like xmas, one button and they have no turrets leaving them utterly useless
its a shame that warriors get so many good healing skills which none of us will ever use because signet is just so dam good!
offer a ranger Mending and i bet they’d leap at the idea of a 20 second, moderate heal that also removes 3 condis,
offer defiant stance to a guardian, the ability to convert all incoming damage to healing (just as Mark of Protection did in GW1) and many would take it.
i often think that Defiant Stance and Litany of Wrath were given to the wrong classes,
healing yourself for a percentage of damage dealt seems so much like a zerker warrior skill.
Defiant stance should have been Mark of Protection, a monk skill from GW1 which functions the same, guardians have lots of GW1 monk skills.
Litany should have been named Warriors Endurance and given to warrior.
i’ve gone off on a total tangent now haven’t I? XD
back on subject, yep healing signet is one of the best heals in the game, it outheals pretty much every other heal and you don’t even need to activate it

my Greatsaw is ready! as is the steampunk outfit i use on my mesmer
i think the “specialization” system is going to let you focus more on a holy trinity role than a hybrid, for instance if you specialize your warrior into defence it will make you more of a traditional tank.
Just leave any Skyhammer, problem solved. Exacly what I do.

7 people choose to play on a good map like Foefire, Forest etc…
but that one…always one… chooses skyhammer just to troll.
there should be more restrictions in place to stop this from happening.
if 5 or more people choose the same map then it should automatically be selected,
if not, then the map with the most votes should be selected,
if all maps voted for have an equal number of votes THEN it should become randomized.
7 people wanting a legitimate match and 1 troll wanting to ruin their day should NEVER result in the troll getting their way.
i cringe every time skyhammer shows up in the wheel.
