That’s the exact attitude everyone should have Cero. I understand it is very hard for some people to adjust to changes that take them out of their comfort zone or out of their usual playstyle but that’s how mmorpg and even individual real life evolve. Bring the new challenge, we can overcome them and be even better.

Post videos/pictures/comments anything that you find fun/funny (even if it is just a bit) as playing an ele. It could be in pve/wvw or even spvp. The purpose is to try to cheer this community. It requires more skill to be great with the scepter at pvp specially against good players. Those skills you are saying that are not so good (like ice shard for example which can give vul btw) are actually really great assets in the hands of skillful players with the scepter.

On pvp most have gone with the bunker/heal/deal mediocre dmg build making them unkillable on 1v1 against any profession unless they are really really bad. hopefully this build gets nerf with the heals to the point where most elementalist realize there are successful dps/defense build.

for every one ele that can play this build effectively, there are 10 that can’t and they are the easiest targets to take down. The nerf bat should not be based on the top players, but rather the average players…..not to mention it would make ele’s even more useless in PvE.

You didn’t see beginners playing PvP ele…you saw how bad the ele was without the D/D bunker build. What do you mean, you gave them that build? Did you go around teaching bad players how to play D/D ele?

Where do I get this ratio? Just from playing pvp. Pretty much every time I see an ele, it’s a free kill regardless of their build…..once in awhile, I run into one that knows what they’re doing and they’re hard to take down…but still less annoying than some mediocre mesmer and thieves.

I’ll answer your question. I tutored 4 friends that wanted to play ele only for spvp and couple of others that have seen me on s/tpvp and wvw and considered me good enough to teach them. It is an awesome starter build but there are a few others that many don’t know or don’t even bother to try that are successful as well in all aspects but requires a different play style.

Many will suggest the predictable 0/10/0/30/30 or 0/0/10/30/30 d/d build. It is a good starting build until you get more skillful and want a different play style.

Part of it is wrong, I’m a s/d and d/d (h8 staff for both pve and pvp) and I always have all those d/d bunker/healer/mediocre dmg dealers on their defensive constantly healing in order to survive long enough until I finally burst them down.

Anet already announced this way back on this forums. You just need to follow it more.

I do agree that eles with the constant healing is “op” against the other professions. Eles with this bunbker/heal build can still defeat others even with low dmg simply because they out heal them. Surely Anet knows this by now and will try to fix it.

D/D water/arcana as strong as ever.

Everything else, nerfed to the ground to the point of barely viable. There is no working ranged specc that doesnt involve only being able to kill golems or perma CC targets (aka, you need a lot of support) Unfortunately traits in anything but water/arcana means you will have no survavility at all, and the damage that you should have ain doesnt make up for it….at all.

Overall the class has boiled down to one trick pony, and that is D/D

(except for the occasional WvW, where staff still can hold its ground only in big zergs and wall raiding)

You don’t know about “everything else”. There are some other reliable builds for the ele that doesn’t involve d/d, water/arcana and still have plenty of survivability and deal above average dmg. (way more than the mediocre dmg 30 on water & on arcana deals). Of course, these other builds require more thinking and different play style than the all popuplar 0/10/0/30/30 build does.

Yes I did. It is a whole lot cheaper with real money than with game money for a casual player.

Yes, will never miss them. Sometimes I log I. Just to get the daily done on less than 20 mins and them log off

A small addition: in PVP ONLY, in PVE they need a lot of work/buffs and cannot do what a lot of other profs can do, or achieve similar results with a LOT more trouble, that makes the effort put into them not worth it. Fortunately with the upcoming WvW/PVE skill split they might start buffing Elementalist numbers to make them perform better, because it is fairly obvious that the reason Eles are in that (not so good) position is WvW.

I haven’t been following news much, but when/where did they state they’re going to split skills for WvW and Pve?

Find a guild of like minded people and play with them. Make your own community. Solve your own problem. That’s my advice.

I play with my guild 90% of the time and never have the problems you’re describing.

That sounds like good advice on the surface, but unfortuantly ‘a guild of like minded people’ isn’t something that just falls into your lap. It can take months or years of searching, and on some servers it’s just not possible.

With that way of thinking it might actually take you that long. Our thoughts always attract. Like others stated as long as there are human beings, there will always be different set of people, some may fall within your tolerance category while others won’t. On a mmo where hundred thousands and even millions of players gather, you can’t expect everyone or most of them to be as you want.

This is the same question as someone previously asked “do you support gw2”

Before you join a guild, you should perfectly state that you are a casual gamer and not as active.

A whole lot of fun and never felt as a grind even when i went for my legendary. Compared to so many previous mmos, this game comes to the top in all aspects and it will just get better and better.

Depends if the person constantly uses (…….) I see it as a person that have little intellect. However, if the person only uses …… at the end of one sentence then it shows either a a lack of confidence or even arrogance depending what the sentence is saying.

It’s something we’re absolutely aware of and want to address in the future, one of my main characters is an engineer so I feel ya on this one. My poor quaggan backpack is visible like 2% of the time I play as I kit swap, never mind my weapon skins.

We’re currently focusing our engineering (programmers, not guys with net guns) resources that could work on solutions to issues like kits/skins on major systems that address issues higher priority and wider reaching like lag in large battles, LFG, custom arenas, spectator mode and so on but this issue is absolutely on our radar.

As always, please post your ideas of what you’d like to see solution wise, we love to see the fun ideas y’all come up with too!

you can farm fractal between lvl 10-20 with magic find gear/accs/food. You will get descend amounts of rares/exotic drops you can sell and even t6 mats. Of course never skip the mobs from maw instance.

yep that’s exactly what makes me think there might be something more than just lag involved when the warrior ported forward.

At some point it seems like a lag and at some point more like a glitch. I’m not sure because i never lag this bad in wvw; I only get skill lag sometimes. What do you guys think

I am aiming for the Incinerator dagger, got the 3 gifts just missing the precursor. Trying to get it by putting 4 lvl 80 rare daggers in the mystic forge. In my last attempt i got a rare axe…. Was this a glitch? I always thought i would get another rare/exotic dagger.

Found out it is some type of bug from super adventure box. needed to re-log to fix it

I was able to before why I can’t zoom in/out in the game anymore? my mouse scroll is working.

Give it a shot KazNaka, the best eles are the ones that create their own build and implement certain aspects of other builds into one unique one.

After a little while, I just didn’t like the scepter as main hand anymore haha but some of the idea behind this build has been transferred to my original build and It is definitely an improvement.

The boon duration build is a waste of damage potential the ele has.

Ok let me know how it goes. Should be able to get similar results in PvE/WvW; but unfortunately the damage cannot be replicated in sPvP even while using Scholar runes

I’ll answer your question. This is the best mmorpg where you see the minority (whiners on the forums) being unhappy while the majority are enjoying the game.

Making reveal happen every time you go out of stealth hurts in PvE as well. I prefer what Anet did instead of going for the 3 second reveal just for going out of stealth. As a matter of fact, I didn’t think 4 seconds reveal was even necessary.

To counter it is easy. Stealth is pretty deterministic. Now that culling is gone, when you see the thief go stealth, count to 4 (CnD thieves typically trait Shadow Arts), and right before you count 4 do a dodge. Now you have a thief that’s completely visible for you to deal with. Shove a CC skill on him and he’s on the floor waiting for you to impale him with a flag.

Wasting a dodge praying that you are actually dodging the thief stealth attack isn’t a way to counter. This mechanic is broken and will need to be fix.
