yea and you totaly cant use poison sigil to negate the regen or interupt said heals at all
You are shifting the goalposts here. When someone said it takes 10s to kill a bunker currently, I kind of assumed you were already using the tools like poison and interrupts at your disposal.
It was me who said it and interupt what heal there is no heal in the entier game that have less then a 16 sec cd so what heal will you interupt twice if it was uped from 10 to 20sec?
yea and you totaly cant use poison sigil to negate the regen or interupt said heals at all
See you in hot then maybe if I get that myself
or craft some exotic gear and bam you got your alts outfitted
Why not just add a 50% (debatable number) reduction to all damage done against other players. Since this game doesn’t have dedicated healers, there won’t be much problems with “unkillable” characters, maybe only some regen-builds.. but it’s easy to balance.
Maybe also -20% crit chance against players.
How hard would it be to kill Bunker characters with those modifications ?
well about 50% harder so what 20sec instead of 10?
since its moved over to items time to take away a berserker item and add a cleric then mate
Edit
Yes traits are changed you have to make choices what 3 lines to get some are merged together like guardian downed state reduce health slower and the every 10sec you remove a condition for example.
You can find just as good builds as before if you just play around with it.
Weaker builds what are you talking about they had to buff bosses since everyone was boosted condtion alot more then berserkers but they got their share aswell ( dident need as much of a boost since they were already high up there )
(edited by Linken.6345)
No I want the spoon its much better then the 2s 16c rune or the 3s 30c accessory
thats what i want to see here like any other mmorpg i play as full tanker
so 10 players hit you and you just laugh ad them and they cant kill you that is what a tanker( build ) must be
on the down side i cant kill them but its very good for a commander he don’t need to fight he just give orders
and they would the just walk around you kill the squishies they can kill then kill the npcs and knock you around on your bum to take keeps and towers instead…. all while you laugh unkillable
@ have partially to disagree with you pax too …
Epsecially at your opinion that people “want” not to take condition clears into their builds.
Its often not the point of not wanting to have condition clears, its way more often the case, that the possible builds don’t provide good enough condition clears at all, or lock you into specific builds, if you want to get better condition clears which might not fit to everyones personal liked play style. The thief is such a case, a class with super lousy condition clears, unless you play a high stealthy build where stealth removes conditions.
If you don’t want to play that way, then say immediately good bye to your single most effective way that the whole class has to clear conditions, because anything else is underwhelmingly weak and helps you no bit against condition spammers. There needs to be made about the general defense gameplay based on Stats, they need an internal synergy that helps reducing Condition Durations with the help of a Synergy between Toughness and Healing Power.
That way would make the new added suggested Boon Sturdiness you also alot more effective agaisnt Condition Spammers, as the stacks of Sturdiness would significantly improve for you then also through that synergy your defense agaisnt conditions letting them end alot sooner on you, cause Sturdiness would increase your max toughness and healing power, making it tougher to defeat you, while helping you also significatly to heal you up if you are on low health as long the boon is on. its a long overdue counter boon to Might thats essentially needed to make defensive builds again competeable agaisnt all this powercreep that anets adds from patch to patch while completely ignoring since 3 years the most basic defensive gameplay systems of this game, like increasing the effectively of Vitality to make our Max Health, thats currently balanced around the games state of 2012 appropiately balanced around the current 2015 powercreep state where everyone and their mom hits now hard like a truck…
Yes I do see a problem here tho how do you supose the defensive players would stack the sturdiness buff?
Like adrenaline for a warrior you gain more then longer the fight go on and lose it while shrugging of conditions and make blows that connect into glancing blows instead?
Well map completing is only usefull if you want the chests rewarded for fully completing said map and the gift of explorer for 100% to craft more legendarys + its good exp aswell.
Lfg here is not automated like wow you go to contancts and lfg tab ( default Y key)
if its not that for you its the second button from your top left corner.
There you can search what dungeon you want to do look who is searching for partys or start your own.
If you join someones party I advice all welcome group, that dont state a lvl80 in description if your not that yourself that is and tell them your new to dungeon so they know you may screw up
If you start you own write something like new but teachable or new all welcome.’
Edit
Some people that are very good learn to solo dungeons but I wouldent start with that as the first step.
The problem is they see the top guys not wanting necros and rangers and oh there must a reason so we dont want them either.
But your not the only thing that have been presented to us is the announcement trailer and there we see, what I have stated hammer wielder probabely engineer staff wielder ranger
And a rifle medium armor guy most likely thief.
As i have said before, the guy with the rifle is very likely not an elite spec teaser. Why do i say so? let me repeat what i wrote earlier:
The guy with the rifle is an off focus random dude amongst 2 other npcs, the focus in that shot goes from the sylvari (in heavy armor with shield/sword) to that dragon thing. Now look at every single other spec teaser in that trailer. All of them are the main focus and show of their weapon in action. None of them are off focus amongst other random dudes.
Is thief rifle a possibility? sure anything is, since nothing is announced yet. However the announcement trailer does not present any proof, it’s not evidence of anything, unlike it was for mesmer /engi/ranger who all got their time in the spotlight.
What we do have is recent datamining whih has alrdy shown to be parts correct (the ele eite spec picture that was datamined and the warhorn) that is actual evidence. Does it make it fact? no it doesnt. But treating an off-focus npc in that trailer as evidence of anything other than a medium guy with a rifle (like , lets say engi) is kinda stretching it.
No one is claiming anything as fact, people are just speculating based on things that were found/datamined. And nothing of it all points to rifle. That’s why people are coming across as being sure its staff (even tho they’re stil not stating it as fact) because off all the things found the only evidence that ahs been found has pointed to staff.
But sure, it could be rifle, then again it could be any weapon, nothings officially announced yet, and i’m sensing you don’t really care about anything otehr than keeping the argument going even if it means grasping evey last straw out there.
Have fun with that
i’m jsut going to wait and see what the thief will be getting, no point arguing about it since at this point in time its prolly alrd set in stone, whatever weapon it is.
Man you really get me mate, I like straws even if I stand them since I would sneeze my lungs out.
I just did a few dungeon runs with two necro and me a ranger. It was quite smooth. You don’t need to have optimal setup to run a dungeon. Also, I noticed Necro has some group buffs, at least that’s all the symbols they spread around in groups. Doesn’t that help?
Not atm to the meta people since they got their own healing so necro vamperic aura is useless and they never go down (heavy sarcasm there) alot of the people who think they are meta do go down frequently, so the aura that make them unable to bleed out is useless to.
There are a top click of players that the necro dont help at all I admit that and bow my head to them.
You do know that muskets are pretty long right?
Take this one for example with a barrel lenght of 42 inches (110 cm) it could easily hide the bottom and top part of a rifle inspired from that in the picture linked above.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_Bess#/media/File:Brown_Bess.png
I might be wrong but how about “meta”
Im lazy with mine I parked them at old ogre puzzle in la
You know I was just thinking the most damaging thing against this http://i.imgur.com/xA8qvVk.png picture is that the guy is in full sneak-thief. So there is no elite spec armor piece on him. The only thing that could be it is the gloves but they are too heavily stylized to really tell.
Yea that could be a staff and it could be the barrel of long rifle we dont see the whole weapon, as I stated earlier both are up for grabs since both weapons represent what they lack atm a 1200 range weapon and a 2h melee one.
Never said I wanted either just dont like people claiming they get this as fact when it aint.
What ever the thief get my alt will probabely still sport shortbow/sword+pistol stillExcept for that very weapon has a skin in the game. It’s an ascended bo staff. I won’t link the in-game code because I don’t know if it’s against the forum rules, but it’s not hard to find.
Sure that pic could be an artist’s elaborate troll, but here’s the thing: that pic was found BEFORE we found the in-game staff. Which means the artist knew of the staff skin before everyone else did. Finding the in-game staff skin to match that trait line background is just further evidence supporting staff thief.
And dude, we’ve been repeating ourselves in saying that it’s all speculation. No one is claiming this as fact. You’re just seeing it as though we’re heralding it as undeniable proof. Maybe some people are, but I’m just saying there’s a lot of stuff to back up our speculations. Again, we could be totally wrong, but we’re looking at what’s been presented to us and going with that.
But your not the only thing that have been presented to us is the announcement trailer and there we see, what I have stated hammer wielder probabely engineer staff wielder ranger
And a rifle medium armor guy most likely thief.
You other people are brining in datamined stuff thats not final havent been rewealed by the company and so its not presented at all.
Edit
Whos to say that said bo staff aint put into game to give a staff that feels like its for a melee revenant
Edit 2
And as stated earlier its not unpresedented that the artist let their creativty flow wild as presented by the melee staff that looked like said spear on the same announcement trailer.
(edited by Linken.6345)
The only shouts that have problems are the Ranger ones…. I blame that entirely on, and connected to, a number of design inconsistencies that class has.
As for the Guardian and Warrior. Shouts are supportive; making that zero cast time and untargeted AOE a major advantage to its function. Reaper should see a similar advantage being offensive; but the reason its not as well received is this notion that lingering AOE fields are better for offense.
Another issue could be that other utilities just look better, as the offensive shouts are very one off type skills. Seeing the reaper line up, I can understand since the Necros have some very strong utilities when paired with the Reaper’s faster play style.
Faster playstyle I was under the illusion that reaper was a slower playstyle then lets say dagger+wh/dagger
People like this are the reason I never “donate” anything to anyone in a video game. If you want to help someone out, donate rl money to a charity you trust.
Oh dont even do that donate food to a person you see on the street, you never know how much of the money you donate really go to the people that need help .
Even if food/clothes get sent to a country, whats to say some military guys dont show up with trucks and force the aid workers to load up all the food and clothes so they can eat the first and sell the second.
You know I was just thinking the most damaging thing against this http://i.imgur.com/xA8qvVk.png picture is that the guy is in full sneak-thief. So there is no elite spec armor piece on him. The only thing that could be it is the gloves but they are too heavily stylized to really tell.

You can always keep this old guild as a personal bank one
I decided to perform the experiment and purchase a mining pick. So far my impression is that the suspicions regarding convenience are confirmed: Even if it seems like a trivial task it’s definitely cumbersome to transfer it between alts when you’re switching characters.
Also, I noticed there was a mining pick that yielded extra materials. This seemed weird considering there are no axes or sickles with comparable functionality. It also seemed strange to introduce the item given that many people would be stuck with a “lesser” item that doesn’t harvest anything unique. In looking around at old posts it seems many were in agreement with this when it was introduced (I took a long break), but I did not stumble over any response as to whether old tools will be updated with extra material options, or if new axes or sickles will be introduced with special features. In the latter case I presume the population might feel bitter.
Does any of you know if a response was ever given to this? Given the sentiments already put in this thread, I’m more reluctant to complete an infinite set beyond the mining pick.
I think this is your best bet stack up on those every wintersday
oh that staff wielding picture you found could be a revenant, do revenant wield a staff oh yes they do
sebradle i guess next your going to say that the one sporting a hammer and drones can be a warrior
1) Data mined info is not gospel, Anet can change anything at anytime. (As seen with tempest)
2) Teef maybe getting rifle seems more themed with an infiltration type class. What seems to more thief themed is entirely your opinion and not gospel.
All most people in the pro-staff crowd are saying is that there is more concrete (data-mined) evidence that supports thief getting staff while there is zero actual evidence that shows thief will get rifle. All the pro-rifle crowd can conjure up is their opinions on what they feel anet is thinking and the perpetuation of the one unique weapon per an elite spec myth.
And the announcement video were we see a medium guy wielding a hammer and a medium guy sporting a rifle and already know last medium guy will get staff.
But then again same video shows a staff that looks like a spear being wielded aswell
Look 01:04-01:09 and tell me that looks like a staff.
I would get behind this if they were restricted to only pve and unlockable on any race so you dont have to feel forced into any one race for each class.
Witch would in turn make them pointless as racials tbh but that would have to be the downside to it.
I dont understand this. Norn is my favorite race so i play i more then the others. I have guild mates who play charr and engy and love there type of class/backround and another playsonly human since he hates teh charr from gw1.
People like having there characters be there characters. I find it wierd you have to have it for every race being you get 5 character slots for playing the game and can make any class/race you want and that the game is already based on the type of weapons/class/ and race you are so it make no sense especially for PvE.
Becouse some people only want to have 1 character, I personaly have 1 of each class mixed races.
But if lets say bearform would get a buff that made it really good for a frontline fighter then my warrior would like to use it but he cant being a charr.
Buffing the racial skills would make people feel they had to be a certain race for a specific class and that aint good.
Imagine this warrior only norn only bearform elite lfg not fun.
Edit
Correction its based on your class and your weapons as of now race dont do much except underpreforming racial skills ( that you want changed) and lvl 10-30 personal story.
(edited by Linken.6345)
Benson sells only Soldier gear. I just went and checked on my character to confirm this, and he still only sells Soldier. The merchant at the Grenth temple is the one that sells Berserker gear.
Looks like the bug is that grenth temple merchant sell soldier shoulders aswell.
Thief is also very ninjaesque and a melee staff with martial arts would fit much better than a sniper rifle.
oh ninjaesque you say well I guess your getting off hand sword
I would get behind this if they were restricted to only pve and unlockable on any race so you dont have to feel forced into any one race for each class.
Witch would in turn make them pointless as racials tbh but that would have to be the downside to it.
you could send every person you kick a mail why they were kicked and to reply if they want to be invited back when they return.
And it was really strong evidence that elementalist should get sword aswell we got to see weapon skills for it, we all know what happen to that.
And we thought some class would get land spears aswell we saw that in a video moving picture alot stronger evidence then a still picture aint it.
What is it thiefs lack a 1200 range weapon and 2h melee one so both are up for grabs.
Edit
In the article I linked they said on prof would get hammer, how funny would it be if thats the thief and he get flying turrets as his skills
(edited by Linken.6345)
No only one code. thats why veterans get a character slot added if they buy it before launch since that was the value of the base game the last time that box was on sale.
Can anyone link where exactly an Anet dev said no two professions will get the same elite spec weapon?
Anyways, I’m pumped for melee staff thief. I hope it’s flashy and acrobatic, being that thieves are supposed to be the most nimble and agile class around.
Also, they’ve been revealing elite specs at such a slow pace!
The wait is killing me! I hope we get more elite specs shown to us soon.
Soon….
Soon™
You couldent read the post from me above yours?
They havent stated that each spec will get a dif weapon but they dident say atleast 1 specilization will get staff either.I did read it. Are you suggesting that because they didn’t use the magic words “at least” that all of the sudden all of the evidence supporting staff thieves (datamined trait background and weapon to match, following the same pattern that lead to ele warhorn confirmation) are null and void? Because that’s… really reaching at this point.
I’ll admit, for a while, I thought thieves were getting a rifle, but I’m really excited about the idea of a stylish melee staff thief. And there’s far more evidence supporting staff thief than anything else (I don’t even know where the torch thief theories came from).
Yes I am suggesting just that and so do the anet staff.
listen 0:40-01:10 and really let it sink in please
You miss on the 1% fast clear damage. You have to invest almost 200 gold for +5 agony resistance which are absoultely worthless and useless playing wvw, not even mentioning the laughable low gold gain in wvw. It looks crappy to have agony resistance on a wvw set.
And all that just because there are no versatile wvw infusions/the laughable restriction for unique trinkets/the inability to access different trinkets with the same stats and infusions slots if not purchased 2 years ago and saved up until now, having to predict the future and abuse/exploit a very unfair advantage.
This should be clear even for the most narrow minded.
Are you kidding me that 1% damage is against none player characters the ones you kill when capturing undefended camps towers keeps and sentry points.
Edit
I thought this was about unfair advantage against other players not against mindless pixels you slaughter by the billions easily with as low as green gear.
(edited by Linken.6345)
Circular logic, here we go again.
Your whole idea for this change was that its unfair for 1 player would have 5 more power then another player.
Its now shown that that aint the case and it make this whole idea worthless, time to find something else to complain about.
Since killing npcs slower dont make you lose to other players.No. Not at all.
Learn to read.
From my initial post:
“This means that players having access to a converted accessoire have an advantage of one mighty wvw infusion while the rest of the playerbase not having access to the converted trinket can’t have two mighty wvw infusions in their accessoires.”
and nr1 with 2 x https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mighty_WvW_Infusion
vs nr2 with 1 https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Versatile_Mighty_Infusion
and 1 https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mighty_WvW_Infusion
What advantage in power killing the nr2 do mr nr1 have?

Assuming you have a competent group;
AC p6 can be done in ~15mins.
CM 123 are about 4mins each.
SE 13 are about 4mins each.
HotW 123 are around 5minutes each.
TA f/u are about 7.5mins each.
CoE 1/2/3 are about 9mins each.
Arah 1/2/3 are about 10-15mins eachs.
thats not a competent group thats a good speed clear one.
if you have major sigil of bloodlust to get stacks on land 1 of your underwater weapons need the same sigil to keep stacks when going into water. if you have 2 sets only 1 weapon of a set need said sigil
Yes we do mate how quickly people forget.

And are we sure they’ve not changed it?
I’ll admit, it’s not likely they’ll make it something else. But, this is ANet. They change plans all the time.
This is some first-class goalpost-shifting.
It’s not goalpost shifting if its a direct quote from their livestream. The notes of which can be found here -> https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3eh7gd/tempest_elite_specialization_livestream_notes
Yes but the differance is They have stated that druid will get staff never did they state that elementalist would get sword or that thief would get staff/rifle.
Its just what we the community have dreamed up our selfs from watching 1 video and some data mined stuff.
You cant say that he aint shifting the goal post when in his first post he say that it aint a good idea to state what weapon the druid has since anet havent said what it is, he get refuted with a video link to a statmen from Collin the man.
Turns around and say oh well they changed stuff before can we be sure?
Edit
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/specializations-part-two-reward-tracks-and-elite-specializations/
In this link they state that every class will get a new weapon never say that it wont be duplicates true.
But on skills they say atleast one class will get 6 shouts opening it up for more then one class to get the same skill types.
(edited by Linken.6345)
From here:
Now the elite spec should certainly improve the new weapon and utilities to warrant picking it when building like that, but exclusivity it should not.
I read that as you want them to be stronger, but reading it again now I see how I might have misunderstood it.
The reason for the exclusivity however is that you have to make a choice. Why else would anyone not use the Elite Spec?
I dont think you read wrong lordkrall, Yes OP says he wants weapon use on both core and elite specs but.
He then turns around and say the elite spec should boost said weapon making it stronger then when used for only core specs and thats as you pointed out aint what gw2 is about.
very true but atm their is a massive feeling that every dev is working only on HOT and this would remove some of that
It would not since then people would complain that devs just click all threads and never responds. (maybe they dont even read the thread either)

Ofcourse we cant be sure they wont change it, but then are we sure we will get a expansion? They might go bankrupt before its released, anything can happen.
Were is your source on this mate
Devs said that they have 3 elite spe / profession for HoT.
The information I seen so far have stated 1 elite for each profession for Hot and they will add more later at an unspecified time.
Since you dont use your own gear in spvp why would it matter mate?
Cleric amulet to bad well switch over to berserker again
They haven’t added all of the files yet, likely meaning it’s just being worked on. They didn’t have the Reaper hood while they did have the Weapon. Or they just don’t have chat links yet.
I’m willing to get the Druid staff isn’t the one specifically featured in the thief elite specialization backdrop. Is logic really that hard? This isn’t deep detective work. This is going to be just like the Warhorn situation all over again, people refusing to believe it’s true because they don’t want it, and sure enough…
Let me rephrase the question for you, then. Do we have any proof that Druid gets staff? Proof other than a video where ANet admitted that the art team took confusing liberties with things? A video older than the datamined Elementalist sword skills? Yes, they’ve stated the name of the Elite, but have they ever actually said that they get staff for their weapon?
Is it really a good idea to say we know what weapon Druid has?
Yes we do mate how quickly people forget.
check the 37:45 mark in that video link
Yup, even the fact that the sun rised for each days you lived as a human being doesn’t entailed that it will rise again tomorrow. But I still have a good argument that it will rise again tomorrow based on induction. But the chance shouldn’t be involve because there’re too many unknown.
Let’s cut to the chase. Based available evidence do you have a good argument that thief will not get staff?
Based on the available data-mined “evidences”, it is hard to argue for or against it since they are vague and ambiguous.
Based on the class/weapon revealed, we can predict unique weapon for each class (since Druid is known to have staff, so thief doesn’t). Revenant is not a good case against it since the Glint photo can very well be Glint himself.
was not glint a she?
Is that shy for Anet? Many people want to get this service and Anet can just offer their service to satisfy some customers. How can the idea that it is shy is from a normal head? I can’t understand. Can be just easy for that? Is it really more serious than any other dangerous things like hacking, spamming, or any violations? A very simple thing but never allow… Even my name is not really my name… that I bought, though…
If you are saying what i think you are saying, you do know buying an account is against the rules right?
Ok anet cant win now they get flame for stuff they “maybe will do in the future”
I think its time for anet to put up a second wall of silence if this is how some people are going to react.
Why they already got your money no need to show you progress then
