New meta – mass create alt accounts on rival server. Don’t enter wvw at all. When you pass that server, delete chars, and mass move to next target… Rinse repeat…..

Weird, since I’ve played with and against several guilds that enjoy playing on NA servers, and are at tiers 4-8. And I am playing in a guild currently playing in T7 that enjoys it a whole lot! (And certainly under no circumstances would we want to move to T1-3)

Different people = Different opinions/tastes/preferences etc. Don’t blanket state.

That was sort of what I meant for the op. Don’t make blanket statement most guilds are dedicated to their server. I have seen plenty of guild movement – that is how servers rise and fall…. I can see how you read what you did into my response though….

The notion of a race in T2 to tank pre S2 was absolutely absurd. The servers and people in T2 since before Oct 2013 all wanted to be in T2. They transferred to servers that were already in T2, and in the event any of the said servers moved they just jumped to the next T2 server. Agg post S1 is a prime example, among many many others, and it is still going on to this day.

There is no difference in opinion. There is no misunderstanding of occurrences. If you think at any time people and servers wanted to tank out of T2 then you are just plain wrong. Say what you want about CD, NSP, GoM, whoever the hell else I don’t care, you are wrong about T2.

Why is it always people from lower tier servers always carry on about tanking for seasons? Why is it always the lower tier servers always complaining about guilds transferring up to higher tiers? Why is it always the lower tier servers always complaining how big the coverage gap is even though match up never roll more than a few ranks apart?

Season 2 was just a bad rng roll for fa and db getting so much Glicko because of sor not falling fast enough right? I think the people above were talking about tourney 3, but alas I may be confused myself…
Tourney 3 was the race of t3 not to advance as maguuma was falling….

It appears even more malicious, given that you offer no evidence that you were part of those communities, or their discussion, and apparently on an entirely different server.

Eh, SOS and FA tanked to get out of gold league last fall?
1) Don’t see how that would have been possible.
2) Very certain that was not what was going on in FA and just as positive about SOS.

The only server in T2 that was trying to leave gold league in the fall was Maguuma, for very good reason since most of the guilds left or went to Archeage.

I find the assertion by Ark somewhat inaccurate in my opinion.

The ‘race’ was for the top t3 servers not to advance to t2 should maguuma fall fast enough before the tourney (cd says they wanted gold, but it didn’t seem like they all did as they were invisible at times too).

There were 5 servers in t3 / t4 that were very close swapping wins until the tourney was announced… The tourney occured, people started moving for easy wins… Tourney ended, mags dropped down, people moved to YB – cluster**** started….

We did want gold just we didn’t pull massive overtime to get it. Because getting into gold league right after burning everyone out to cover our huge coverage gaps is a horrible idea. CD was still gaining glicko until last week before seasons when YB stopped tanking and their EU +late NA/OCX PvDoor groups came out.

Yea – I knew cd wanted gold, but it did seem some weeks they did (based on score) and some weeks they didn’t (based on score). Granted it could have been us (YB) or db playing differently and not you (cd). Not that it really matters. The main point was not t2 trying to go down, but most of t3 not trying to go up (for the same reason you state)

Last weekend was a great chance at 9.99 to feel out other servers before spending even more only to find your new home not to your liking. The other advantage with an alt account is to have fun if the main account is stuck in a bad matchup for weeks / months…..

Don’t know how YB wrecked it. Maguuma collapsed and season 3 happened moving YB up. Without both of those things, not sure the huge amount of people would have joined YB…. Now fa clearly has the most, not YB.

One person hacking doesn’t represnt a server either. If that was the case, then all servers are hackers….

@indie. I don’t think gvg is practiced by a large portion as you say. Maybe a large portion of your circle of friends, but I am willing to bet a small percentage of WVWers.

That said, With proper support where you can face anyone, I bet it would be enjoyed by more. The question is – do the metrics warrant it? I don’t know and it isn’t my money being spent for the development for me to say anyway…. I’d think a simple sort of half solution is making os eotm style red-blue-green with multiple instances. This way there is more variety on who you can face even if not being perfect.

I think I will wait to actually see it before judging it…..

Indeed, part of the reason everyone has a huge stack of Badges of Honor are exactly because the armor and weapons can’t be salvaged so players are getting crafted armor instead.

Maybe Anet should add some sort of salvage/extractor kit that can be purchased with Badges that works only on WvW armor and only is for recovering the rune/sigil.

This makes a Ton of sense. I have some of this armor and weapons in bank just hoping for something like this to eventually happen. Just want the rune or sigil – even if it remains account bound…….

Proper gvg with rosters – ladders – rankings was mentioned. Unclear if it was part of stronghold, but did sound gw1 style – ie pvp. No mention of raid size either. If it doesn’t handle large enough party size, then not sure where it fits. Only time will tell on this and many other things – the devil is always in the details.

It really depends on the player amount on the new PvP maps.

Yea was odd they didn’t say group/party size. Waste of time and resources if still 5, but when they mentioned gw1 was think fort aspenwood or jade quarry for group size….

Spend 9.99 for an alt account this weekend. Use that account as a bank and scout for which server meets your needs before spending the gems on your main account….

Loot so not worth it. If I want to kill peeps, I want it to count….. Even though I don’t gvg, I would like to see it made eotm style for those that enjoy that mode – potentially different guilds to fight for them and they aren’t forced to transfer chasing that scene (which is why it won’t happen)

The problem with pre season 2 free transfers is that there was unlimited slots available. If there had been free transfers to those servers with a cap on the number of free slots, it might have worked.

If you assume only one server shows up every third week when its a designated “win week” then your making a pretty clueless statement. If people didnt enjoy it here, they would leave.

Of course a server doesn’t only show up every third week, but they play to win every third week is what I read. So 2/3 of the time they aren’t playing to win?

I meant to add, right now this should remain player-driven solutions. T2 and T3 will eventually get balanced out by the players just doing what they already do: quit or transfer. Dev-driven solutions should not try to interfere with this process, like they did with offering free transfers before Season 2. Instead they should be spending resources on solving the issue of player attrition and game mode staleness.

That’s what Anet wants you to think, Player-driven solutions are to transfer servers, that equates to more $$ in Anet’s wallet. If you keep this mentality up, Anet won’t do anything to expanding or bettering the WvW experience for fear of losing out on all that $$. And right now T3 needs to be fixed, the experience is just horrible, even if the players in bottom servers of T3 move, it’ll just keep repeating itself with new servers.

I feel like you didn’t really read my post. If Anet pulls “dev-driven” stuff again like offering free transfers to certain servers like they did in Season 2, the kitten is going to hit the fan. That “fix” did more to destabilize servers than to create balanced matches.

The free xfers may have been ok if they were limited – the unlimited aspect is what screwed that up prior to season 2….. That said, I tend to agree – just skip them altogether.

The problem with t2 right now is 1/4 rolls t3 which is a total face roll. The other 3 have plenty of action… There can be ques, but rarely every bl +ebg. Usually just ebg or 1 bl that is getting pushed very hard and the bat signal went out. That is YB anyway.

I never saw a player that goes to wvw just to craft. If it happens is with a very limited number that probably doesn’t have great impact in the queue. I think the map should stay the way it is.

enter wvw to craft or bank
Return to pve land where you were at end of JP

That said, I don’t do it when there is a que. I am not there long enough to hamper the war effort should a que pop. I am also aware of map calls that could que the map – golems at Garry, hills, bay etc…..

Not like anet people don’t take a 2 week vacation like Many other people in the working world around the holidays……..

@banzie – well said. The trick is to make people want to join voice Coms…. If they don’t or do, but don’t come back the next time – there is probably something wrong with the people in voice com s…. Could be raging, cussing, juvenile chitter chatter, etc….

T3 is a mess because of 4 t2 servers is where he was going….

Lol – I do like it here, but really for those that never moved wasn’t server choice sort of random from the start? Mega server sort of destroyed real community in my opinion. Being a pvxer, server events in pve joined people together as much as wvw IMHO.

YB in gw1 was the first place post searing I enjoyed. I so wanted to go back to pre searing at first….. Since I went on to enjoy gw1 so much, YB server made sense to me. Just like I can see how fa – Jq had meaning to those that were heavy into those gw1 battlefields.

Op is so wrong….. There was a 2v1 for a very short time with some fa – SOS forces 2 WEEKS AGO…. Fa was barely on last week to 2 v 1 anyone (valid reasons – holidays)

Reset ebg we barely saw fa – we were both fighting db in different places. If anything db was the pita capping aldons and porting out when we came to fight…..

As we all know there are NO cheaters, if it was a problem surely Anet would give us an option to report them. 1 extra choice in the drop down window for reporting would hardly break the programmers back.

Currently we have no reasonable way to assume that Anet even reads exploits@ or watches any of the attached videos. Or surely by now our game would be almost hacker free, but the same old hackers hang around like a bad smell for months on end.

They don’t – wrong place… Look for a thread with anet response for the proper way to reports hacks.

This also happens if a breach is closed and you are in the wrong place at the time. We had YB and db stuck in a wall when the breach closed – no wrong doing in that case and nothing they can do sometimes if remain in combat……

I am from FA. I agree. There is no WAY sos should be fighting on T3. I also HATE the idea of double teaming a server, but in this case, its the only way you guys have of standing a chance against SOS, and I am sure SOS is not happy either. Everyone wants fights, No one wants a steam roll.

It does concern me that next week you guys will be facing us in FA. On a personal level, all I can say, if I see you guys trying to take something of ours, I sure won’t say a word to anyone. I HATE the idea my server will steam roll and farm you guys. Chances are, I won’t even play much at all that week. Maybe just roam solo and hope I run across a couple of you guys, feel free to gank my toon, dance on my dead corpse, and get a tiny bit of satisfaction.

Pretty sure it will be a rng roll on who faces t3…. That’s why the push to t3 is silly talk – it is rng. Granted Glicko can change the percentages, but pretty sure fa rolled t3 match on 15% chance a few weeks ago.

Another possible solution would be to have GMs randomly follow anyone reported for wrongdoing if they can’t respond to view it immediately. Especially if that person is reported many separate times for the same thing.

Ideally while invisible so perp doesn’t alter their actions when others are around…. Though seeing the red logo might scare them straight…..

Not the client end on servers 161 and 162. 161 has been replaced, 162 still an issue from what I read.
