Retroactive Account-Wide Rewards Locker
Alright, I know all of you have been begging for a locker of sorts to store those skins that are from past events etc. Some of you just trashed them because of the other skins and rewards that come out and you just cannot store them on a mule account because, let’s face it…Eventually we get bored and want to play that mule and most of us don’t want to spend gems for another character slot. The “create a new guild storage” objective gets old really fast with the other things we try to store just so we can store the skins on the toon and the junk from that toon in the guild stash.
So, looking at what we’ve been requesting since, I do believe the early release days, We’ve demanded Wardrobe Lockers for our Town clothes, The Back Item skins we get(IE: Sclerite Shell Backpiece Skin). A similar to the sPvP locker would probably not be as easy as you think however, what if we had requested, nicely mind you, account wide achievement rewards such as the Hellfire and Radiant sets if we had unlocked them already. We can take out any time we please if we unlocked the achievement in order to get, say, the full META achievement from the dragon festival in order to unlock the Shattered Holographic Wings. As long as you did get this meta achievement completed to the fullest, you would unlock the back skin for your entire account and withdraw it as much as you like much like the said Hellfire & Radiant armor skins as well as the Zennith Skins.
The Armor Skins, Miniatures, Birthdays Celebrated Minis would be the only things that would count. Jetpack skins or Super Adventure Box weapons would not. Only Specific Meta Rewards.

For another purpose in the progression we can’t just talk about characters and leveling but also guilds progression horizontally. The guilds that actually have members can get through rough times. Sure new guilds can get the Guild Bounty Training to catch up, but what happened to Alliance systems…why does representation exist and only benefit just 1 guild when we have 5 slots. Eventually it will stress one player into choosing one guild ultimately making his other 4 slots in a guild gather dust. It makes no sense. Guild Progression needs to be addressed
So far playing thief seems to revolve around stealth/backstabbing or dmg nerfs/buffs, however is it possible we can see a more useful change to the trap skills? They are the least used skills on thieves unless used for leveling for a FACT.
Is it possible we can have Shadow Trap to have a Timer of when it expires much like Shadow Return/Portal?
Possible to rename Infiltrator’s Arrow to something else such as “Coward’s Arrow” since were using it to either gap close/to escape and nothing is infiltrated unless its a bugged area…The original PAX usage was amazing use for it since it kept people on their toes in WvWvW to defend bases instead of zerg-rolling everything.
May we get an address for P/X in catching up to par on the other weapon sets?
-Venoms would be nice to share the currently-giving thief’s condition based statistics such as duration and damage to others with the venom share(Venomous Aura)ONLY during the charges duration[5 charges for a poison = thief that gave to you also gives his condition dmg and duration/poison duration for 5 charges only].
Shortbow seems solid but could possible see more utility with Choking Gas…CG in gw1 actually interrupted the foe…as where this simply poisons them and adds a combo field.( just a thought)
A chance for more team oriented play other than either being the guy to revive everyone via stealth/the guy doing the dps. Currently Stealing is the only way to grant a team boons via that trait, is there a way to give them what we stole as far as items go? or a benefit much like a slot to get what we stole IF THEY ARE IN RANGE?
Maybe thieves could get a trait to benefit what we stole such as, if we stole an ecto off of something, the party gets all the boons immediatly when we steal, or if we steal feathers, they don’t necessarily get stealth, but they do blind foes AOE.

So a friend of mine i have angered in no way is showing to block ,e, but at the same time im on her friendslist, she states shes added me and “unblocked” me and it still gives me the messages shes blocking me. i have had this happen on my end as well to a guildmate/friend but i dont recall if it went away or not, i never blocked them.
what could be causing this? she unblocks me then it reblocks me after she logs off
This too has already been posted, but no one seems to care as far as the bugs go nowadays…its been months since i posted the chain bug to which no dev affirmed it as a bug, and even then in game / email support dont seem to care either.

had a guy say i was speedhacking on my thief when i was using signet of shadows -_- and he said … of all things…he screenshotted me and was gonna prove to Anet/devs i was speedhacking…..

At the moment it seems that Ascended Armor only drops by pieces, which doesn’t seem fair at all for those of us wanting to store them for later and not only that we cannot pick the armor TYPE it will be. IE: medium, heavy, or light.
Should they not be dropping in full sets with option to choose armor type? not necessarily STAT type but armor type and full set should be put in.
if not this should it drop with chooseable armor TYPE?
remove the skin loss on mystic forge infusion of back items.
its basically saying “if you want to keep your skin, you have to buy a transmutation splitter for 300 gems in the gemstore” which is rediculous because gems are so overinflated and they DO NOT drop from daily at all.

i dont want to lose my skin but i want to infuse the back item.
So sick of people not knowing how to play their class or to play spvp coming in and ruining the game. It’s either they are there for farming money and sit there AFK, or they go into a match where we need to work together to accomplish something to win and they just run around/ask questions(at least they ask).
Make the minimum rank for spvp Solo queue rank 15 so it does not ruin the game for others trying their best and have a report feature for leeching for the leechers for free money. It’s not fun.
what are the new values for the AR charts? i do not see anything changed on the wiki page.

arent we supposed to be able to convert pvp boxed armors to pve and vice versa soon?
passing through the fort walls on certain areas like an inclined area, throw you under the map, making you have to start over.
There are too many people jumping on objects, by the time we get to the snowflake it’s already melted and when we finally get back to the checkpoint someone else jumps ahead. This is the mad kings clocktower incident all over again.
not to mention the party notification on the side which is ridiculously long and distracting and NOT NEEDED
also whos idea was it to add a timer event to when a window pops up in front of your face, obstructing your view of your next jump…then resetting you when the timer reaches 0:00 ?! I disagree with this entirely

A suggestion from a commanders PoV that could actually assist us and have no need for an entire screen to be filled up with whos in the squad.
Have a simple UI with an option to show professions only, for instance:
Squad Window:
15x Ele
25x Warriors
14x Thieves
blah blah blah
showing how many of what professions that are in the squad, and from my pov playing in wvw back in the day finding a specific profession in the field was a pain in the butt, this would solve a few issues.
also add an option to select a few skills in a dropdown menu to show who in the squad has it currently equipped, such as…you wanting to find a mesmer in your squad with portal already in his bar or a staff/sword+pistol mesmer…
you would set the drop down search option in squad menu to find that criteria of mesmers / whatever your looking for so you wont have to ask anyone in particular to switch from their normal builds/skills/weapon sets. Once you sort through the squad this way, names will appear so you may address them individually, scroll window added in case you have a huge one, but scroll window only applies to the name section. Color coded minimap dots based on your squads professions. (going by professions colors).
Considering the weapon boxes drop as ascended, will we see armor drop as well?

2 month old thread and a dev doesnt seem to notice/acknowledge it…
For one pinging waypoints seems almost impossible as it is considered as “spamming” and when a commander is suppressed he must have a lackey do the work of pinging instead, so remove/add an in game timer in the system for how fast someone types a message/EMOTE. for instance, if i CTRL+click a waypoint and spam it within 3 times over and over without anyone typeing in between or myself adding some kind of indifference would be supportive.
Color coding of commanders for both pve AND pve.
increasing the radius of the /supplyinfo command getting everyone to stack on your hat and literally touch your rear end to get an appropriate tally is a pain.
Increase squad limits to UNLIMITED, cannot plan on everyone listening to map chat nor plan on having just 30 people listen when all want in on the team play.
More symbols and commands for minimap on commander mode.
such as Defensive line HERE or attack then then that. 1,2,3,4 in order.
basically like a football planning board, have an option to have a permanent line drawn on the map for your squad
squad members only see your hat and not another-so many times have i had people in my squad get bugged out in wvw and another commander makes others confused and steals my numbers -_-
Add a limit to who can be commander: add an additional requirement to become commander like how long someone is in wvw etc.

Hmm Josh, I’ve been letting a certain thread run wild for months now about an idea I had to improve a specific build type for thieves. Would it be possible to reply on this? Could even PM you on forums if its acceptable. Reaching anyone on this seems nigh impossible!
Was tossing my rares in the Mystic Forge today and got some Masquerade Raiments for the chest and was gonna toss it in the forge as well, when I noticed Zommoros crystals popped out in color…and it was no bug. See here.
No known recipe as far as I have looked up.

not only is it just bugged in gameplay, but those who are in a bugged game dont get a reward…at all. i just got a bugged match, was last one winnin, no reward, no loot bag, nothing. just said i won.

It was also made quite clear during said vote that both candidates would researching the Molten Alliance Facility and Aetherblade Retreat, so yes. They are both coming back as Fractals at the same time as the Reactor (which seems to be on the 26th).

regardless p/d is still inefficiant when up against d/p, even with the nerf, only way you can get a hit in is if you use cnd and get a hit off when hes done using his BP(skill 5), even then your still crappy and theyll just remove your conditions…again by popping outta stealth. if they want to perma stealth theyd be eating initiative….so lets hope p/d is getting a buff by making others get a nerf…i still say venomshare builds should give not only counters of our venoms to others, but copy our condition based stats + condition duration to the people we gave em to…i mean why kill with my venoms and when i give MY venoms to an ally should they only make what they hit SNEEZE!?
Whats going on: As soon as everyone gets in, they are able to move and pick up objects, 3 seconds pass, everyone is immobilized then the announcement goes through and then afterwards some are permanently(59 mins) immobilized with skill ability but cannot dodge while others can move and kill and go about playing.

My personal goal started out as a thief only guild but that soon backfired as I was getting taunted and desires to join regardless of class, so what I did was allow all classes and levels, new or experienced in the Guild Wars 2 game but eventually set a skill group for majority of things to participate in wvw/dungeons/living story instances such as a zerg buster or a speed clear for thief squads only. Speedclears can, of course, be used by all others on any class, however I intend on having a dedicated thief only group for those things. In my past as a gamer I have made builds for almost any game, Everquest, NeverwinterNights, Guild Wars (yeah, I made Frostmaw Ashway , hence my name ;3)
The new goal is to do speedclears, casual play, Wvw…well pretty much everything balanced as well as guild missions and to help anyone, new or experienced…this goal has not changed at all.
For leadership I will eventually form it around, say as an example:
WvW Coordinator->WvW Main Zerg Commander->WvW Zerg Buster
PvE Coordinator->Dungeon Coordinator->General Play
Same goes for spvp etc etc.
Each area would have a main leader in that department.
The representation requirement, you must be wondering, is simple…Rep often.
The current ruleset I have set that seems to be working is 200 influence(40 silver) per 7 days you are not going to represent, starting each monday. It has been working well as were at III in all except Art of War, which is at IV…We have guild storage basic at the moment and 9, ready to activate, Guild Bounty Trainings, which, if completed all successfully should get us V in Art of War for full Guild Bounty. The problem here is since I’m such a leniant person, We do not have many level 80’s willing to assist!
We have Teamspeak 3 on public borlis pass teamspeak owned by Varlen and our own channel and are DEFINITELY taking small guilds into our own

well if its coming back as a part of fractals thats like saying, welcome to subway, you can look at the nice food but you never get anything but chips….why add new fractals unless theres something else exclusive to that pertaining level of fractals besides an end bonus chest after you get multiple of 10’s daily done? yes, new challenges, but in the end whats the point? should be able to get rare drops from the living story in the new fractals, and last i heard, only thaumanova is being added since the chick won the election because the majority of the players wanted a 4 week reduce in waypoint costs…so no molten facility cant be in a fractals again.
Just as title says, maybe annually? I Missed out on the event for the most part, Azurite and a jetpack skin! though i heard it was a low low drop rate…maybe bring it back?!
THIEF BURST DMG FROM STEALTH:
To be honest, I dont know anyone really reads the Nth post here. But ONE thing bugs me in the balance, the Thief-Stealth-system.
I think the Thief build where one Thief can essentially perma-stealth and do ungodly damage from out of stealth in WvW has to go. It is not fun, and doesn’t really contribute to the ongoing war either. It’s just profoundly unfun and there is virtually no way you can do against it.
Give the Thief a different concept. Like doing dps, but not in that amount and maybe you raise his dodge and escape mechanicsm and nerf the dmg burst. A perma-stealthed Thief can endlessly harass you, leave the fight whenever he wants, reenter at his whim, and you can’t do anything about it to counter that.
It’s unfun, not balanced and the entire stealth-burst-DPS mechanic has to go.
EDIT: ELE ARE TOO WEAK
Also, I feel Elementalists are way too weak. No class is so much forced to constant lolcoperting, is so much a weak jack of all trades, but good at nothing. Either the damage needs to rise considerably, or some mechanisms to keep the enemy at bay OTHER than CONSTANT lolcoptering are needed.
Glass cannons usually die like throwing a stone at a pane of glass. Pretty simple concept once you get a hold of it. The only people who die to them are usually uplevels or are a glass cannon build themselves, in which case you kinda had it coming.
Look at it this way, you run with a small group, no thief should be able to wipe you. No matter how skilled they may be, thief isn’t a group fighter. They may pester you awhile but there should be no window for them to pop out, burst someone down, and finish them without some response. NOW, if you’re roaming, you’re already in no mans land. Anyone can jump out and attack you, they don’t need stealth as a simple LoS could surprise you in the ruins. Mesmers also have stealth btw, and are far better duelers than thief, mainly because they don’t get constant nerfs to the chest. The difference is the skill level to play a good Mesmer and a good thief. Thief IS in fact quite easier to play, doesn’t mean anyone can jump on 1 and start taking over the ruins but people see it and by people I mean the troll videos/posts on various thief builds. Most people can’t grasp stealth counters, so those looking for an easy fight exploit that weakness, make them cry, and they come to the forums to rant about it. Bottom line, there is a clear line between those who have counters to stealth, and those who don’t understand them yet. Those who don’t understand it yet should be asking for help and not requesting a nerf. Thief is VERY squishy, and has few answers to everyday dueling. They don’t need flat nerfs they need adjustments for more viable builds.
In otherwords you just told him – your fault for roaming alone, got ganked, got kitten…people have to understand its like a house of matches, one right placement and thief falls apart.

I know your reading as much post here as you can ,
so I think you know that the “hard to catch” getting a bad Response on all thief Players.
But to made him more interesting in a place of a master Tier, maybe a Change of stability instead of the swiftness buff and a smaller couldown would be a good part of your promised Mobility buff, compared to the vigor nerf.
And since theres no blur/block/shrink/invulnerable the Thief has acces to Counter incomming burst dmg and we already have much swiftness in our acrobatic traitline.
Please, dont let stealthless thief gameplay depending on a randomly teleport of the named trait which isnt a stunbreaker itself.Thanks for reading

Venomous Aura is as useful as a knife with no blade at the moment…UNLESS, you are condition damage specced/duration.
My suggestion is this:
Upcoming update is going to increase the range on the Aura trait.
Additionally, why not add an effect to apply the thief (that used the venoms) condition damage and duration to those that the venom charges are given to.
In example: I were to use Skale Venom, and Ice Drake Venom, Giving my allies 3 charges of Skale, and 3 of Drake venom. During those 3 charges each, they get my condition damage and duration until the charges are drained/wear off.
Make the upcoming party buffs(party are prioritized) effect Venoms!
This in turn, would make thieves a more supportive class!

No reason I can see would this be overpowered as currently if you dont have anyone but yourself specced in condition damage/duration what is the point in venom share?
Is not rattlesnake venom poisonous? I mean if I dip my blade in rattlesnake venom and stick you, your are probably going to die based on the dosage, but if you dip your blade in and stick someone, should they not get the same effect as opposed to a sneeze?!!?!!?

My bad, sure you got nerfed, your still effective at doing something, and they “don’t mind” it. Hence re-rolling.
Suggestions for Thief changes:
(keep all the changes you guys are making, and add in mine, you’re doing great ).Back-stab builds will still be overpowered, let’s reduce the side-strike trait to 2% chance. Reduce a bit of damage on Back-Stab it self. Hidden killer should be reduced from 100% to 25%.
Sneak-attack on pistol, right now stacks a bit too many bleeds. The number of times shot using that skill should be reduced from 5 to 2. The normal attack on the pistol should no longer apply a bleed effect
Black powder should be as suggested, powder, only blinding one enemy without an AoE effect.
Executioner should be decreased from 20% to 10%.
Backfighting increase damage from 50% to 150%, thieves generally fight when they’re downed, so it’s a good idea to provide a buff and expand build options.Think these would be some solid changes… Would greatly open up thief builds (for instance, re-rolling to warrior build, or re-rolling to guardian build).
I disagree, and partly because i see no reasoning behind the above suggestions other than all thieves should reroll to another class… deciding to hit all of those traits kills the damage period on all builds and the comment on removing bleed/reducing it pretty much kills the condition aspect of p/X builds also. Good troll though.
First of all, very good job, I like this kind of preview. It’s not only about the ‘what exactly’ but also the ‘why’. This is awesome.
Second, I do not really understand why you don’t just meganerf the current meta. It caused so many players to leave, the players that remained are either trying to tell you that the current meta is nonsens or are randoms like me (telling you a lot of different things). There are a few nerfs of course, but even I see that it won’t be enough to kick passive playstyle/AI-builds/bad ‘risk/reward’ from PvP, which seems to be the main reason for all the quits of competitive teams and players.
Third, 10th december. Why so late?!? It’s nice that you want discuss it, but can’t you just throw out such balance patches more often? Like every two weeks, as you do it for PvE? Of course, you can’t change the whole meta every two weeks, but slight adjustments every now and than seem to be far better, or at least I think so.

the reason for dec 10th is because of seasons in wvw…they are NOT going to ruin the seasons by changing builds as they stated
If thief sword is going to get a cast time for infiltrator’s return, would it be possible to look into flanking strike and larcenous strike again? Ever since it was nerfed to only steal one boon, I find myself almost never using it, due to the fact that boon durations are generally very short, they are re-applied very easily, and there’s no control whatsoever on which boon you will be stealing anyways.
I do agree that it was too powerful at 2 boons stolen per larcenous strike, but I find it far too weak at 1 boon stolen… do you think the skill could be modified in some other fashion so that it’s not such a waste of initiative anymore?
i think they should add a counter icon onto the person hit by larcenous AFTER the skill hits and this icon steals the next boon that the person that was hit by LS uses or applies, still steals 2 boons but the person getting hit by LS can better counter it… kinda like a MARK like on Aion…in fact…why not ADD marks?!
Instead of a .25s cast time on Infiltrators Return, just lock it down when CC’d You’ll achieve the same effect without ruining the fluidity of play that sword relies on. Regardless of which you go with, I think it’s a silly choice, but if you’re determined to further limit S/D, please do it in the smartest way possible

The one thing I would want to see changed for a thief is for them to come out of stealth while spiking. Unless your class has a AOE knock back or move ability in the downed state a thief can spike you from stealth 100% and you can’t do anything about it.
My reasons are that when a thief goes into stealth they should not be able to do any damage. they are going into stealth to gain a situation advantage, then they come out of stealth to do the damage. stealth spiking just feels like cheating and I feel cheated when it happens to me.
ummm…no thieves become revealed after they deal ANY damage at all regardless, so, no one is gonna kill you while in stealth 100% of the time, it doenst work that way.

:Corpse Toss is hard to hit anyone with unless you have timing, if targetting an enemy in explorable mode (red guy) it follows effectively and WOULD never miss…if you were able to brawl with them…needs to apply to players as a lock on.

Basically:
-As Human grab hammer, take hammer to face in wall/ghost alarms…hit the alarm/face.
-Grab a boulder
-Take boulder to video location (possibly other pumpkins or items)
-Aim with camera (you oldschool prenerf Keg Toss pro’s know what im talkin about)and hit pumpkin, if you hit, numbers will appear and pumpkin will drop on ground.
-Pick pumpkin up and take to ghost portal (how they get around as ghosts)
-smash to charge pumpkin on top of portal
-Take to mad king thorn
-get rifle
- Supposedly the rifle has unlimited riflebutt skill, but one ammunition for the actual shot.
