Executioner seems too OP atm, kills everyone trying to hav a good time.. for instance, if one guy goes executioner, everyone playing with their tonics just says “forget it, this guy is being mean” also seeing these in WvW alot, the dash skill ( corpse throw) can get away WAY too easy… the axe spin needs to be dodgeable as all other skills while on costume brawl when theres time for it, since i know real skill balancing should come first.

-Add a cooldown to how many back-to-back commands ghosts can do, its OP
-Reduce the channel time for doing commands as villagers OR when giving a command make ghosts STOP and point with a range indicator, if villagers obey instantly they get out of it if not, they get penalized with damage and a stun.

There are 2 you can try from my pvp experience I am a champion shadow r49 so these should be quite viable.

If you are going 20 0 0 20 30 you will survive much more than the other because of dodging. Make sure you use the blind effectively and also steal a lot.

i do pve as well…the gear i have is valk with a few zerker trinkets and div runes…will this be fine?

Hi Jon, I’m very concerned with the wvw matchups at the moment but not necessarily because there is a very lovely new map on the way…well yes, it is because of the upcoming map…My questions are:

Are we doing anything to improve the latency and skill lag for wvw? Several thousands of players are really disgruntled that Seasons have been thrown at everyone without fixing performance yet, making some matchups very unfair to where only skill 1 and a few heal skills can only activate and even then not even those skills work.

Are we going to see a fix in the middle of the seasons performance wise to make it smoother or is this going to be Beta wvw all over again?

Will we see smoother and more accurate lineups for the next seasons? Some worlds are getting aligned with t5 and t4 when say MY world is t6…as an example.

Last question: Where are the signups for beta testing the map?. I get an error code while trying to view the link on details

The bad : Venom Sharing is great…if you have allies getting the applied venoms with high condition damage. See This thread Ms Murdock: Link

till the thieves with P/D support specs and Venom share can actually have a NEED to share venoms …such as sharing their condition damage and duration specs for each venom charge, i see no reason why to use the venomous aura on any build…its just simply useless when a warrior is built for power in my party and im the only condition guy…say for instance if i dip my dagger in rattlesnake venom and stab an ettin…and itll die in 3 minutes…why should my venomous aura only do the same for my allies but only make the next ettin sneeze…?

IS any dev reading this and talking this over for next patch?….cuz if not i feel we lost alot of thieves….not all, but alot…we feel cornered…i dont want to play d/p the entire time, i actually want a roaming build…with support…i dont see how venom share is support when a warrior is gonna get my venoms and not do any damage with them…

Make venom share share condition damage and duration during the uptime of the venom charges already!!!!

They could just preset this one viable build for thieves and dont let us change it… for traits, skills and armor.

Having only 1 viable build feels so stupid.

There might be a few more builds that are playable … but they are nothing compared to the d/p build.

I’ll test more later and might continue my “state of the thief” topic to talk about what should be changed.

Talk all you want, for all the “collaborative development” anet pushes, they didn’t listen to community feedback one bit with the initial statement for this patch.

we mentioned everything earlier in the Patch preview thread before the new patch even came up and talked to them of why NOT to touch larcenous, they seem to only care for boon tanks..

“oh, spam larcenous….waste all of that initiative…its pointless because by the time you get your initiative back to spam again, ill have ALL the boons back again…lol…”
they killed s/d larcenous builds forcing your hand on specific trait setups.

“oh you cant stun me as long to get finished with your Pistol Whip due to the stun change that seemed to mindlessly hit an undesired skill to a nerfbat…thats too bad! but ya know what?…Mesmer S/X skill 2 can still woop anything…..without using a utility skill.”

“OH!!! wait!…P/D got a buff….”
“what you talkin about Bill?!”
“they gave a nice touch for support…but its an insignificant immobilize and eats up way more initiative than it used to… "

S/D needs to be reverted because the LS never needed to be touched, (im assuming they just skimmed over our PATCH PREVIEW replies in suggestions and reasoning)
S/P – Pistol whip is rubbish now….by the time you stun + the aftercast OF that stun theyll walk away during the flurry, you shouldn’t have to put in Devourer Venom to hit your target, and respectfully, i highly suggest they do further testing before they change a stun effect unless they know its going to kill other builds in the way they were NEEDED to be used before a patch…IE pistol whip stuns your target for just enough time in the previous patch…you killed it now anet….STILL S/P needs an overhaul for more supportive rolls.

conclusion = D/P woops all the builds, and this is the reason people are always fussing about thieves….let us use other builds

Venoms…and all other conditions need a rework as opposed to raw damage…
need to have a rework…its OVERDUE.

Disabling Shot Shortbow : STILL majority of the time just makes you bunny hop in place. dont worry, youll get hit after you touch the ground…because you didnt move an inch.

I’m not sure what you mean. Pistol Whip hasn’t been changed in a very long time. It’s still a great all-in-one skill, an interrupt-evade-spike. When it hits multiple foes with Signet of Malice equipped it heals you for almost half of your HP. Very good skill overall. But this thread isn’t about Pistol Whip, it’s about Larcenous Strike.

on another note – they did kill the s/d build..one boon is not going to make a huge difference, it needed an spvp split so pve could still be viable. or reduce the kitten initiative needed for larcenous by 1 (not flanking)

P/D is still obsulete to d/p – its more fun, but its still sad that d/p is a meta…dont get me wrong, i like resetting my fights to reassert the problem, but any build should be able to counter any other build ( as it doesnt work that way) but…i think that if a thief (gonna get hit for this one ) should actually HAVE to complete the LEAP from HS through Blackpowder to actually get stealth…just using HS in an immobilized state shouldnt work…

Initiative cost is actually 5, as Seras said. It is only spammable if you divert significant resources to initiative regeneration, which means detracting from other utilities and damage sources. Furthermore to even access this skill you have to use sword/dagger, which means you lose out on all the great skills offered by sword/pistol and dagger/dagger. Large scale boon stripping is not a foreign thing as demonstrated by the Mesmer skill Null Field, which very quickly nukes every boon within a small radius. I see no problem with Thieves having a strong boon strip of their own. It’s very helpful against certain enemies in PvE, notably Dredge. All this nerf has accomplished is removing yet another PvE niche use of Thieves. At this point Thieves need all the help they can get.

Thieves are supposed to be sneaky and underhanded, yes? Let them.

Should it? IF interupting a foe with a mesmer the rupt rune ( i think perplexity) doenst trigger and neither does the trait for mesmer when rupting causing vulnerability… on crit sigils dont trigger when a duelist or illusion etc on mesmer dont trigger either… its as intended.. YOU YOURSELF has to do the confusion or trick…not your turrets.

gg, you killed it… it was underpowered as it was, not overpowered.

How so? It costs a measly 2 initiative points? Granted Guardians can shrug it off better now, but most classes don’t have boons galore like they do.

1 boon….only 1 boon, and majority of the time its an insigificant boon to rip off -_- requiring spam to peel off his multiple layers…

Destroy shadow trap: Just tested this thing out. You stunbreak on use. The enemy now actually has 1.5 seconds to stun you a second time. Not sure if I like it this way, but we’ll see.

…That seems odd. What if you hit Destroy Shadow trap for the stunbreak and immediately cancel the cast, say with a dodge roll – is the shadow trap consumed and put on CD, or is it an infinite stunbreaker now?

Trait description states every 10 seconds a condition is removed in stealth, should be 3….or shall be stated on the gw2 game updates page…was not included.

Trait for Patience on thief also states a 10 second interval for initiative regain in stealth…not posted correctly in text.

seems most interval text…at least in thief traits
all state 10 seconds.

1 1/2 skill cast time to get out of a stun….
could we not make it instant like it used to be IF we are stunned?

this is the most half witted thing i have seen done to a skill…

“oh snap! im stunned, im getting womped on!…better use my stun breaker to get outta there!” …oh wait…i cant its a 1 1/2 second cast time…that i cant cast, because im stunned.

Was hoping we could get Colin’s opinion in implementing more stats into other dungeons than just the 3 as far as vendors go in Lions Arch for tokens…

Currently Dire stats are only in CoE…why can we not add all stats to all dungeons and have the cosmetic choice to do other dungeons for titles/money/the appearance of the armor, and not necessarily the stats?

also – is it possible we could in the near future see cross server influence gain so my guild doesn’t have to transfer over just to give influence? -_-

Example : sea of sorrows players in my guild which was created in borlis pass can still give influence if not just a percentage of what they gain…

Or: have a guild alliance system of whatever guilds the player is in, form an alliance with, and during representing one guild the guilds that are allied up with the current guild the player is representing get a portion of that influence?

how long do i have to get the backpiece and the meta achievements so i can get my mini leftover? or is this permanent.

i struggle to find a group that knows what they are doing, i just got out of a group of all warriors and myself as a thief…they died way more than i did and i hardly went stealth at all! after their burst they just died….i start to believe ill never get all the achievments done

An option I’d really like to see is smart ground targeting when targeting areas that are out of range.

Like if I use a 900 range teleport, but I cast it at 1000 range, then it still casts at it’s maximum 900 range in the direction of where I tried to cast it. Instead, right now it just fails until you target within range, which usually means you’ll waste like 100 range.

This would be a huge QOL change.

About Ranger

Ranger’s Problem: Ranger is designed and is supposed to fight together with his pet companion. Thus, rangers “suffer” damage punishment which cause that rangers can just do less damages than other professions. However, pets can be killed easily. As a result, in many situations (such as dungeon runs and boss fights), rangers are often considered “useless”. They lack team support skills and even lack basic damage outputs.

To resolve the situation, please
- Improve pets’ survivabilities
or
- When no pet is available to fight, please provide ranger a tempory buff (called “rage of the hunter” or something) which provide extra damage bouns so rangers can have compete damages.


About Stealth and Penetrate

1.) please only make canines have Stealth penetrate skill.
2.) Allow traps to remove Stealth and provide much longer extra Revealed to the touch-trap-sneaker. (It doesn’t make any sense when you lull a thief to touch your traps and see the thief jump into stealth immediately to cure all conditions and backstab you with full hp again).
3.) provide special effect to the professions who can stealth. For example, rangers regain Opening Strikes when they stay in stealth long enough (3 seconds, not require a grandmaster trait); mesmers can create a clone when they leave stealth; or engineers can recharge their skills faster when they are in stealth.


About Pets and summons

I think pets and summons all need some spcial abilities which are not only for better surviabilities but also for more significant differences. The following pets and summons I mention will just be examples; and it doesn’t mean those I don’t mention need no improvement.

Rangers pets
- canines gain stealth penetrate
- bears gain knockdown skill
- spiders immune to poision
- birds can evade very often when they are hovering.

Rangers’ spirit
- moveable
- Sun spirit immunes to burning

Nec’s summons
- All immune to fear

Engineers’ turrets
- Become object and immune to conditions.

Guardians’ spirit weapons
- All have attack skill (at least one) and support skill (at least one)
- These summoned weapons are based on guardian’s mind. They aren’t like rangers’ spirits whose origins are from nature. Therefore, I think, maybe we can do something different to these spirit weapons.
For example,
1.) Only provide 1000 hp to these weapons
2.) But make them immune to all attacks and conditions
3.) They can be damaged only if the summoner, guardian, is damaged. (exp: when guardian suffers a 1250 damage attack, a summoned weapon suffers 125 damages.) So the tougher guardian is, the longer these summoned weapons can exist (before expire).
4.) They can share the damages if more weapons are summoned. (exp: guardian suffers 2000 damages — 1 weapon suffers 200, or 2 weapons suffer 100.)


About steal

Make some steal slots (F2~F4) for thieves. ’Cause currently it is annoying that thieves must USE previous steal before they can use the steal skill again. If there are these slots (F2 ~ F4) then thieves can use F1 whenever they can and decide when to use the steals.

the last part is what i agree on. kleptomaniac isnt a klepto without many things to steal as lindsey lohan!…we want more shhtealzzz

Fixing thief 101

1- Increase HS initiatives to 4 (don’t remove its leap finisher as some suggested cuz that’s too much). This isn’t just for BP/HS spam but also for spam itself.

2- CnD initiatives increased to 7, can’t CnD on pets (clones and of that crap), damage decrease to spvp level.

3- Black Powder- you can only apply stealth once per black powder (3sec and 4sec if traited), stealth not stackable.

4- When attacking from stealth and the attack is missed/blocked, it should apply reveal and this goes to all classes

5- (cry me a river about this one, bro) Give a 5sec reveal after attacking from stealth, give a 1sec reveal after stealth ends even if not attacking from stealth.

No cries about thieves anymore and only baddies that can’t play their own class will come here to complain.

i main a thief and none of these would bother me a bit.

havent these been suggested before and already addressed? hence the 4 second reveal in spvp and 3 second stasis in pve etc.?

on suggestion 4 – how can other specific classes with out access to block…block a foe they cannot see or know when to dodge something they cannot see…i disagree and this is from a logical standpoint.

on suggestion 1 – this may actually stop half of the ignorant thieves just spamming HS on a 100% health target, though it was funny xD, could also encourage initiative control.

3- more of a question here – why? and i want specifics.

2 – right, sure because you hit a clone, and it SHOULD one hit kill a clone anyway due to the low health causing you to waste initiative ANYWAY…so you cant cnd a pet to apply venom/further a kill on it…what about ranger builds that rotate around pets being full health?!….no, i disagree here…

5 – similar to 4 – already suggested… 4 second is in pvp already…no QQing about it here. and stealth stacking would kill ALL of wvw/dungeons even with a split. disagree, would kill usefulness of a lot of thieves in dungeons (not everyone playing thief is as “pro” as you…if you call it that)

and i suggest you dont call people bad based on a personal build taste…meta is meta, its for sheep. run what YOU want, dont push it on others.

Venomous Aura is as useful as a knife with no blade at the moment…UNLESS, you are condition damage specced/duration.

My suggestion is this:
Upcoming update is going to increase the range on the Aura trait.

Additionally, why not add an effect to apply the thief (that used the venoms) condition damage and duration to those that the venom charges are given to.
In example: I were to use Skale Venom, and Ice Drake Venom, Giving my allies 3 charges of Skale, and 3 of Drake venom. During those 3 charges each, they get my condition damage and duration until the charges are drained/wear off.

Make the upcoming party buffs(party are prioritized) effect Venoms!

This in turn, would make thieves a more supportive class!

No reason I can see would this be overpowered as currently if you dont have anyone but yourself specced in condition damage/duration what is the point in venom share?

Is not rattlesnake venom poisonous? I mean if I dip my blade in rattlesnake venom and stick you, your are probably going to die based on the dosage, but if you dip your blade in and stick someone, should they not get the same effect as opposed to a sneeze?!!?!!?

theres a specific spit in South Sun Survival that Karka will not attack anyone on the edge of a cliff and theres no way to trap the person if you havent arrows/anyone doesnt come along because traps dont trigger when you place them on the person, they have to WALK into them…its not fair to see players come here every-time because its literally a safe spot.

Any dev/in game staff want to see(i dont want others to know of the exact spot) i will show you. i have reported this in the past and its still being abused. but i am NOT attaching a screenshot for the very reason above.

Bonus Chest 1 spawned but the dragon chest ones did not. this was AFTER reset so it wasnt that i had already done it before.

hotjoin in casual browsers shouldnt be punished…and neither should single hot join tournaments, not everyone wants to form a party of OP classes to get win after win, and i personally dont want to face them and get rolled everytime. there still isnt a rank seperation from a team of r 1-12 ending up fighting ranks 40-50’s…and its pathetic to give the high ranking guys favor over this because its not a challenge. underdogs get the short end of the stick in tournaments. browsers are a way people can move up in rank or whatever, if im headed to work and want a quick game but a good chunk of rank/glory, im sure as hell not going to sit in a queue for a tourney JUST for rank.

I dont see how “poofing” with thief is such a difficult way to deal with the thieves, just find out where he ported FROM and run there, itll force him/her to repostition.
but i do see your point in the hammer builds…insance damage, healing, damage reduction in one build…you rupt 1 skill that would be part of his lockdown chain, hell just switch weapons and keep you locked. thieves themselves cant take down a warrior like that, if only they get past 90% Thick Skin trait then MAYBE you could widdle it down…

Using this skill with shortbow(is for shortbow) usually doesn’t “evade and leap away” sometimes it just keeps you in place like your jump roping…-_-

Add the ability to recruit so spamming messages wont clutter map chat.

Regarding the change to Sic ’em, giving a specific class a counter to stealth is just stupid in my opinion, and I think it’s the wrong kind of counter anyway. For me it would make perfect sense to nerf perma stealth in a different way, perhaps like limiting the amount of times you can stack stealth to 2 or 3 times? I think the main problem with stealthing is how it can be easily abused to stay stealthed for very long periods of time, and this would make doing that impossible.

l2p without perma stealth. some of us thieves can manage without that crutch.

The addition of a noskill one button hard counter to stealth will barely tickle perma-stealth but it will severely hurt all normal thief stealth builds. It’s completely the wrong direction. Add a 3-4 second internal cooldown to infusion of shadow, problem solved.

stealthing is not the problem, read my past quote replies…its the damage coming from it. if someone perma stealths, let them, and prepare for the fight to be a long one and damage coming back at you, during a perma stealth, it would be the time to heal and boon up like a smart player, not sit still and whine.

Ele was my main forever. After playing with others and coming back to it (post nerf) I realized the class is borderline worthless. Now im not saying it cant work, because it does and it works well…. but, every Ele is forced into the same trait lines and similar build altogether. Its really bad. I was all for eles not having weapon swap but eff it you might as well give it to them since staff basically sucks anyway, let us have x/x and staff. Give the staff an auto attack similar to the guardians. With that said, ditch the clones on mesmer auto attack with scepter and increase the attack speed, no one will beg you for MH pistol anymore

This is the main issue with Scepter:

from what i gather i see the complaint of attack speed with sceptor…
and heres my logical response to any skill complaints about attack speed etc, including necro sceptor 1 skills…

Flight time is a factor to how fast you can attack a target, if the sceptor 1 skills hit, they switch to the 2nd skill 1 sceptor skill and if THAT hits it then switches again to the 3rd and final attack before it resets to the 1st skill 1 skill. If a target is closer then obviously your going to have a faster attack speed because the time the orb* is in the air itll hit the target FASTER than it would if it took 1-3 seconds to hit while being farther away…there should not be a fix for this, its a matter of learning game mechanics.

btw: hugging a target and doing this made it happen for FAR more dps in sceptor builds now….GG all
