Why not have messages copied from your guild chats respectively then relayed to an IRC type chat to parrot them and request your account credentials in order to log in and SEE and reply to whats going on. doing so could relay back to guild chats as if you WERE ingame? a mirror image if you will.

Also, Josh, the way the current legendary backpiece is rewarded (people needing to cross divisions) should be changed if you make divisions more representative of skill, as most would get stuck in a division, unable to climb further = no more progressing divisions. Otherwise not all people could get them. I’m fine by that, but I don’t think majority will be-

Really nice synthesis dude. This is clear and easy to implemente.
I think one problem will not be solve easily: the MMR management.
I want to add one suggestion: i think they have to add more “map goal” in pvp. Actually the pvp is to “win time one points”. Why not imagine other goals: capture the flag, best killer, survivor or what ppl want.

  • Daily People should be prevented to doing a daily and trumping the team during seasons in a ranked match. People don’t care usually as long as they get their daily match completed which ruins the rest of the match if so said daily player afks for the entire match.
  • Afk This should be completely disregarded in some points as the queuing usually prevents those that would be afk from getting in a match. however those that need to step away during the match, nothing can really be done.
  • Class Stacking I’m sure everyone has been there and fought against several trap guardians with 2 Auramancer/bunker eles or revanents…its not fun to play against and near impossible to beat. suggestion: In a team comp, say you have a tempest, reaper, daredevil, dragon hunter and a support guardian. The dragon hunter or guardian will have to reroll to an entirely different class because they share the same core class. Even if the dragon hunter were to drop elite spec, the team would have 2 guardians, which wouldn’t be allowed. This would better flex the team compositions and mostly reduce power creep. waves goodbye at triple “rise” necro teams bringing me to the next suggestion.
  • Rerolling Seeing a team composition and then rerolling would probably be needed to be prevented. It proves no skill except you may know what counters what against the other team. True skill comes with knowing your weaknesses and their weaknesses with what you queued with. After you queue with a class and check up to accept you should be locked on that class, period, until that match is finished. Character Select via log out/client close would be locked and upon re-opening the client would instantly log you back in to the character you queued with unless the match would be over. Guild wars 1 series didnt allow you to reroll in Random Arenas mid match(gw2 solo queue copy) and neither should this.
  • Leeching We all know about reporting a player for botting as instructed if they afk or throw the match…but we truly need the leeching option as a report feature or griefing option. The leeching via report feature should automatically trigger the leech effect for the after match against the player reported for leeching. Abuse of this report feature is highly prohibited and can result in bans if abused… 3 reports for leeching should be all it takes. This suggestion/idea can help weed out the trolls/botters/leechers and help get players that actually WANT to play and help.
    see the daily suggestion which could link to this one Each time your leech timer runs out and you get re-reported for a seperate instance, the timer goes up more, further preventing you from joining matches and will take longer to expire….If reported player literally plays and explains it was accident or whatever, and you re-report out of spite see= abuse of this report feature may result in a ban for griefing
  • MMR Reset PER Season NOT PER pvp Year Let’s face it, we were all new at one point and absolutely sucked at gaming (cept me, im awesome) so why should we be constantly lined up with other newbies or low mmrs? Exactly!…Each sPvP season should have a reset and your game play per season should show how good you are and shouldn’t keep you in the “MMR hell” If you stink horribly or are learning a new profession one season and you get stuck in a bad MMR, you should be able to learn from your mistakes one season and have a fresh MMR start next season to prove yourself. As of now the only way to get better MMR is to be carried/have a really good team.
  • Selectable PvP Season Rewards That NEVER Expire Yes, that’s right, some of us started the season late and had to grind crazily for that beautiful backpack win skin(I’d personally love to thank whomever designed it) and will never acquire it this season…Unless they allowed selectable achievements that you could choose to work on, without being time-gated. Much like Reward-tracks in wvw and spvp, however locked into your achievements, maybe even have a progression bar for that backpiece and every time you complete an achievement you can move the bar closer to the backpiece! Of course, the only time you could progress would be during spvp seasons…As of now, the next (unconfirmed as far as i know) the next season YEAR (not next month) will be a legendary Amulet/another backpack skin…Well with this suggestion if you wanted to finish the Wings of Ascension, you can select which one to work on. *I understand that its exclusive to spvp but it would be a better accepted idea than the current one by the community and probably reduce the rage…(what am i kidding, pvp is full of salt)[pun intended]Living story exclusive skins are understandable, they were limited time things but then again, look at the vendor that trades for festival tokens…all in all this idea may come into play eventually.

I know that feel. Sad to say, you probably wont break out of that loss loop for very long without a pre-made team. You can probably get League Conqueror next season since it achievements carries over (so I hear, anyway).

However, if you’re really not enjoying it, you might as well take a breather.

sorry, but i am on a 19 loss streak after i got to diamond…now whether or not i can finish League Conqeuror is beyond me..because as it stands that god kitten ed achievement to get wings is impossible NOW and will be next season due to my loss streak NOW

A PVP environment that allows only one of a class per team is a completely different game than PVP actually in GW2. It would also have different balance properties. I would rejoice so much if matchmaking were set up to allow only 1 of a class per team. SO MUCH. PLEASE DO IT ANET!!!

would work if they also made it impossible to reroll to a different toon AFTER you got into a queue. if you queue up you can ONLY rejoin on that toon, end of story. rerolling kicks you OUT of the match and you get dishonor. GW1 did it in pvp and in RA, why they wont do it now is amazing

I solo queue often, i had a good 8/10 win streak, but i had to do my daily, now my mmr blows after i reached diamond. so after the next season starts, if im understanding right, i screwed myself over and will never get League Conqueror done? Ive lost 22 matches in a row now….and probably more but im always on top scoreboard…so i dont know how the heck i can get my wings next season DESPITE even getting League Elite done…there has to be something done about this, this glicko is annoying and it makes me wanna just die…worked so hard on all of this spvp for the backpiece just to hurt myself in the end…whats the point!?

I want that backpiece just as much anyone, but after 5 days straight and never moving past 3/60 wins on League Conqueror, what does this mean? its a LOSS loop, period, end of story.

Hoping to start the next season anew. After i got to diamond i tried my hardest but kept losing, kept getting rude afkers and rude players that would throw the match. I just want to have the new season started anew so i can do my best, get my wings and have fun. If my MMR stays the same and i get paired with baddies/rude players/afkers again, whats the point in having a new season that i cant get out of?

Will there be a reset and a division roll back like their was this season or not? straight answer please

if i log in, its re-muted, and i cant queue in spvp before it rechecks itself(when i log off)

Mallyx and Shiro and Glint have their uses, however the energy costs to having support builds on Jalis and Ventari are lackluster and are usually what kill those 2 specific legends vs having other classes that do their roles far better.

take for instance druid. druid can do way more than ventari can regardless. Jalis only really has 2 decent skills and thats Rite of the Great Dwarf & Inspiring Reinforcement.
Other skills that would provide support in backline in either spvp or wvw such as Forced Engagement have too high of energy costs just to force someone to taunt against you for a small measly Tab spam effect just to reapply the target back on someone that called a target. (basically the energy cost for Force Engagement is too high for the small effect), Vengeful hammers is just a laugh…not really vengeful.

Ventari skills could have an extra amount of anti condition heals and the base healing raise a slight bit.

Revanent had a good effect on the old Mallyx Unyielding Anguish, the one that used to teleport people away, yeah that was amazing, bring that back.

I believe we shouldnt take a look at this from just a wvw standpoint and population alone. In general we must look at guild populations. If guilds grow overly large they will need to create unofficial alliances which in then would be hard to manage. Similar to the Edge of The Mists area we could and should somehow, link worlds together based on rotations of colors based on tiers anyway but with the forementioned (red post) setup. Instead of having all set worlds like JQ, FA, BG etc with all of these home servers, we should combine tiers with tiers almost like it is now in EoTM. Badlands, Frostreach, Overgrowth. Red,Green and blue. Combinging everyone in a set color will boost wvw but force overflows again, however link everyone by …

megaservering, but with wvw…. language is taken into place, region etc. just as pve megaserver. then add an alliance system. Guild wars 1 went the right direction and it seemed as if gw2 scrapped it. It had ALOT of potential, everyone had help upgrading halls with each other, communities grew like nuts, pvp like JQ, FA, and Alliance battles were booming…It may be a discussion all in itself but it is what i believe must be done first, to take a look at communities first and add this alliance feature.

TL;DR Force a wvwvw type of megaserver for wvw only specifics.
pugs with pugs, guildies with guildies(or alliance members)

Add alliance system from gw1

Have EOTM alliance feature added to all of wvw. Rotations are entirely random and are NEVER the same, allowing friendships between different worlds then enemies the next. Come next rotation meet new people, new allies.

Megaserver idea from pve added to wvw plus this eotm alliance feature being inhibited into all of wvw game types make each game fresh, ensures you get in with friends or guild instances.

The title can really sum up the issue.

When are we going to be able to take thief’s Shadow Trap and actually be able to have:

notification of when were past its range,
have a timer to let us know when it expires,
ACTUALLY teleport BACK to its spot of being laid to vs

hitting a pebble or a small crack and stopping at the crack?

this goes for other similar shadowsteps

Instead of having only Boon-strip, why not have Boon Denial effects to really mix up the game’s metas.

New Skills I hope can be added:
Short Duration/Small Area of Effects but here they are:

Thief/Daredevil -Shadow Shroud: Target foe cannot have boons applied to them.
3-5 seconds.

Necromancer/Reaper – Well of the Profane: Foes in this well lose “X” Boons and cannot receive of further Boons.

I will leave this here

If we could recycle these it could mix up the metas entirely and coordinate spikes and coordination, make classes less played even more dangerous and give some new playstyles. Just convert the skill durations over to GW2, Change Wording on Enchantments to Boons

This primarily deals with the Arenas.

To promote more traffic to the arena guild halls and open up more uses in guild hall.
I came up with the solution to add Guild Arena Templates – Setting up an arena in build mode now adds a Save mode given its in the Arena Region flag…Save and load or edit your favorite arenas…
What about having interactable objects like Rocks/Bottles that can be broken/Chairs to be broken into chair legs/pegs for a good ol’ Bar Brawl!? An allowed Skillset that prevents people from cheating? What about SPvP Armor and trait setup to make it simple if you dont have an exotic armor piece?

Take it one step further…Save a guild hall template much like the above suggestion and load the different templates you have saved up… Have a christmas theme you want to use year and year around? no problem, save it then load on on Christmas etc? want to do a Halloween theme? Save it after ya make it!

To end it off, what about a fly-through camera mode that has no clipping that lets you place the decorations in your hall wherever you want…then with a hit of a button save/preview it for a quick run through where your camera was last used…if its not right re-enter camera, delete/reposition the decoration!

What do you guys think???!?!

The person who gives you the link isn’t the one responsible for you getting a virus. If you are not sure if the link is going to a place that won’t give you a virus, then it is on you to research the site to make sure it’s virus free. Not the person who gave you the link.

Also, go out and buy an anti-virus program. Because with very very very very few exceptions if any, in the world of antivirus programs, you get what you pay for. Then install it. Then you can in more safety google the ways to get Avira completely off your system.

If you want a free program to make sure you haven’t picked up a virus after going to a site and your antivirus program doesn’t pick it up, download Malwarebytes. The free version will only run when you tell it to run so unless you’re either very safe with your internet browsing or can religiously make sure you scan every week or so, then it’s not the best antivirus for your primary one. But sometimes antivirus will miss a virus so having one that will only run when you tell it to, will help keep your computer safe (when you think you may have found a shady website or gotten a virus).

tl;dr: The ultimate responsibility for ensuring that you do not go to a site with a virus is on you, not the person who refers you to the site.

Google for Avira Removal Tool, download and run it. Most AV’s these days leave leftovers when removed via Windows Add/Remove Programs.

I installed Avira antivirus a couple of days ago, but came to the conclusion that it wasnt detecting the virus i wanted off, so i manually removed the virus from false registry keys just fine, thus uninstalled the useless antivirus…now i cant run Guild Wars2 or any other games due to no net…however browser is just fine…removed the extension for Chrome from Avira too just in case…restarted and then i still cant play. what do i do??!?!?

Edit: Right clicking on Guild Wars 2 and running as administrator makes it work, but wont work for administrator for another game….what the heck?

how can i run gw2 the normal way and my other games?!

From what i understand, the poison is applied as if by the thief, but interrupts/ stuns aren’t.
That would be one hell of a nice damage burst if it did..

seeing all those numbers just knowing your enemy zerg had a mass heart attack….oh yeah

Currently Venomous Aura allows us to use our stats as the source of the damage coming from the venoms, what about the source of interrupts when we are traited with Basilisk venom, venomous aura, impacting disruption AND pressure striking?

Leeching venoms proc with venomous aura and allow our allies to sap life, but why cant we apply pulmonary impact or torment with impacting disruption and pressure striking if an ally interrupts an enemy with OUR venom?

is this a bug?

Bountiful Theft: This skill needs to act as it does, but remove FULL stacks and a rounded duration of Might and give it to others, including other boons that stack as well. removing a 25 stack of might just to gain 2 might at max is rediculous.

Condition Management: Allow steal to have a way to transfer a condition via steal only/ a trait… Steal to foe and _ as well as transferring 1 or 2 conditions. The cooldown of steal could only transfer the condition if you can steal so a max of 20 seconds would help. The condition damage/duration scales with the ENEMIES condition based stats that was given to you which would free up your build preferences. (much like Venom Share works)

Venomous Aura: Why is this even in Shadow Arts trait lines when it belongs in Deadly Arts?
Switch Improvisation with Venomous Aura

Instant Reflex: Cooldown needs to be on par with other profession traits that are similar’s cooldowns, 40 seconds for just 2 seconds of evades is not good enough :/ yet a push in the right direction. At least balance it with Last Refuge or make Last Refuge 50% thresh-hold.

Swindler’s Equilibrium: why just 1 initiative?

Upper Hand: Regeneration needs to scale based on something else rather than healing alone, much like Guardians trait Radiant Retaliation. then it will feel “upper handish”
Initiative regain from this could be increased to 2 while converting cooldown to 4 seconds ICD and having regeneration changed to 5 seconds from 6. Will open up more build diversity/sustainability on swords, which havent seen the light of day in a long time, at least in wvw.

Guarded Initiation: Bring it on par with Diamond Skin from elementalist traitline. They both have very similar effects except thief needs to be attacking ele just doesnt…Diamond skin removes ALL conditions and prioritizes damaging ones over the other. Allow Guarded Initiation to remove all conditions(like DS) and prioritize damaging(ds).

Ankle Shots: Bring back the range increase and ricochet, Also were hoping you can find a way to make p/p viable, when traited with this trait, bleed will be removed but converted to torment. While foes acquire torment via ankle shots and cripple, the torment will scale with power. That or allow cripple to deal damage while moving too :/ I trust you will find an idea.

Escapist’s Absolution: Remove the CD

Lotus Training
Unhindered Combatant

Remove these and add into a f3,f4,f5
Stance setup and have the missing 3 traitlines benefit from those stances

Staff: Punishing Strikes is a great idea to reflect projectiles, dont get me wrong, but the access to needed reflects is too hindered, we need to be close and be on that last chain in order to reflect, if we have reflects we need to be able to time them, we cannot do so within time. 1 single suggestion i have is to allow Staff skill 1 to chain without a target like the mesmer’s Skill 1 chain on sceptor

technically its the same thing, setting a skill to autocast by CTRL+Mouse 2(right click) is the same exact thing, as long as no third party program/cheat is detected its fine…also check here.

Druids have new pets, scrappers have new gyros, chronomancers a new clone or two, i think tempests have a nimbus and reapers have a new minion type…

when will our thieves guild summon 2 apprentices that have new skills? maybe 1 has the venom dodge and the other has the bounding leap dodge…ones condi and ones power? what about the ambush trap? can we get these guys to have a staff and these said traits and skills when we trait daredevil?! is it too much to ask?!

also when can Bountiful theft remove stacks and duration?!

For easier accessability to refect projectiles take a look at scaptor for mesmer. the auto attack chain can continue regardless if it hits a target or not.

If we allow for the chain to go 1>2>3 without hitting a target or hitting anything we can definitely keep a distance and still trigger reflects more often. It’s a simple fix that shouldn’t break the class and still offer more help.

Removing 1 condition on evade needs to prioritize Damaging conditions first and be changed to function for 3 conditions per successful evade/dodge…so we dont dodge carelessly.

the dodge types need to be f3,4,5 skills to switch to based on specific situations much like a stance which would free up 3 grandmaster trait types. we need to keep this thread going especially since the HoT is released.

apparently some friends are doing CoF where lighting the braziers spawn infinite enemies, which count towards tyria masteries…not sure if intended but it sounds like an exploit. dev reply to this?

To celebrate the adding of Heart of Thorns, I personally chose to irresponsibly procrastinate in making this last minute party and gathering to rid ourselves of banquets, help get recruits, and have fun!

RULES: Be respectful of banquets and areas already tagged by other guilds/individuals, once you are there in a spot, you are THERE…there is no moving sadly. Do NOT stack banquets within CALTROPS range of another Guild/Area and this includes banners. Don’t knock other guilds for trying, but HELP them if they ask.

Supposedly in the post about WHAO on ranger’s boon copying mechanics, they are working on a way to copy duration etc statically…now if they are working on this, could they not work on Bountiful theft to actually steal STACKS and DURATION of an enemy instead of 1stack of might from a 25 stacked enemy to help change the tide of battle?

Irenio, Was a concern of mine and the thief community, however do you recall a bug with Bountiful Theft?

*Does not steal “stacks” of the boons; e.g. the enemy has 15 stacks of Might, your character is only going to receive 1 stack of might (unknown which individual might application/duration takes priority); if the enemy is using a boon that stacks duration, such as Protection, and has both a 3s and a 4s application of it (showing as 7 seconds total), your character will only steal the 3s or the 4s application of the boon (unknown which application/duration takes priority), not the full 7s.

We were hoping to flip the tables massively if we use this trait in steal and actually make it matter if an enemy is ready to spike you that you can turn the tables, steal his 25 might etc, and flip the damage back on him…I brought this up because I believe it has to do with your original post on duration appliances copied. Thanks on a heads up.

I still fail to see how significant Dark Field could make anything better…yeah something is better than nothing but the whirl bolts arent accurate even if somethings on top of you, and even aoe or single target blindness still would suck. Smoke field would be better if it lasted shorter.

hell even a Smoke screen with shorter duration but same effect would be nice if it shoots away from you….would make more sense than 3 impacts that are seperated from each other like revanant’s Echoing Eruption

The raffle with the silver ticket scraps were mostly a bust and a majority of everyone didnt get it. regardless, if someone had money to spend and spam the bags to get the silver scraps then they still had higher RNG chances to acquire them

Can we expect to have the 1st year halloween skins return for the new players and veterans that never acquired the skins with a different way such as a skin or quest reward?

Also can we expect to NOT RNG the oontz necklaces and acquire them otherwise?

what new stuff can we expect?

About the grandmasters and different dodge types:

I would like to have the 3 dodge types aviable as attunements (like ele has it). Each with it’s ICD (10 sec. maybe).

The grandmasters than would buff one of the dodge-attunements. (10% bonus physical damage after dodging and reduced CD for Bounding Dodger etc.)

This way thiefs would have access to all three dodge-types in one fight but one type is always stronger than the other two.

Also condi thiefs wouldn’t be bound to Impaling Lotus etc.

this, could also gain access to the dodge types as a STANCE, switch the stance get the dodge

Reducing the cast time on the heal skill would have been interesting to try out. I didn’t even give it any consideration with the 2.5s cast time.

Adding additional effects to the grandmaster traits is very good. It makes them more grandmaster. As it is, I still see the bound as reckless dodge with a new animation.

The new Havoc trait sounds great. It’d be a good candidate vs the weakness one. It fits the dare devil theme nicely, being that you have to be within a close range, and gives thieves back some damage that kept being taken away, which we need now with the crazy burst mesmers are putting out, and all the invulnerability skills used in the meta combined with strong support to undo the damage you did.

I’m not sure whether I’d put reduced damage from weakened foes or torment. Reduced damage sounds good for us but we have to build mostly for defense already, and weakness is already very strong and very annoying when it’s easily always on you from necros and other thieves. It depends on how many stacks and the duration of the condition, and the magnitude of the damage reduction I suppose. I’d probably take extra damage, even if it’s only a few stacks of torment at 0 condition damage, given the choice. It’d also give condi thieves something new to enjoy (and annoy me with).

There is still the issue of Steal. Dare devil doesn’t expand on it like the elite specs for the other classes did, at all. It just gives us one more bonus to landing steal. We now have: Deal 1.7-2k damage, gain 1.9k health, remove 2 boons, grant a stack of stolen boons to allies, gain vigor (~50% up-time, only source), daze target so you don’t take hits on arrival, gain 50 endurance, that we lose all of to a random dodge, unlucky blind, target enters stealth 2ms before activating, target goes invuln or blocks 2ms before activating etc. So many eggs in one basket. Some of this really should be baseline, because without beefing steal up, it’s so weak, and no other class loses so much of its build’s effectiveness and fails so many of its traits to one skill not hitting.

steal should be unblockable first of all and undodgable…its an instant cast and would only make sense…why allow mantras to not be blockable/dodgeable as instant cast and not this?

Does Fist Flurry double up the Pulmonary Impact off the chain if successful with the traited skill Impacting disruption?

It would seem you should get two Pulmonary impacts off the chain if you managed an interrupt. Is that correct?

Yes indeed it is! I typically run the Flanking Strikes and Sleight of Hand traits from Trickery. This weekend I also ran the Haste skill itself. An awesome combo I found was Steal (or some other “port to target” skill), pop Haste, use Impairing Daggers for the immob/slow, then the Fist Flurry and Palm Strike. Incredibly devastating. Add to that Impacting Disruption (which I haven’t tried yet), and if you get interrupts from the daze from Sleight of Hand and the Palm Strike stun, it’s double extra damage. Insanely great in PvE, but sadly not as reliable in WvW.

I did not get to try it as we were limited in Rune choice but for WvW I am thinking of using Trappers runes for stealth. Use the knockdown and then followup with the fists of flurry. You should be able to squeeze a Impact strike in after that if hasted with those stuns. Flanking stikes is a bit of a problem as I was thinking of a DD/DA/sa build but may tweak that.

A Sigil of impact plus Havoc maybe the 10 percent of bounding dodge ..we are talking some hard hitting attacks.

you lose a significant amount of damage with them just to gain access to stealth because they give condition damage…not power etc…

if they had pulmonary impact deal condition damage in SPIKES then yeah i can see it

Why does everyone want a dark field?

Smoke field for access to Hook Strike

I feel like those who want smoke field are leaning on making it closer to d/p the best set with vast utility that’s cheap and staff was “in combat” oriented, it’s already trying to copy SB with it’s #3. Trying to make a set fit too many roles makes it OP then it gets nerfed in d/p case it’s not OP but they can’t nerf it that’s the only “combat” set left working after previous nerfs, it’s the only reason thief is not equipping double SB in PvP. While it worries me they will have to improve the rest of the sets without copy and pasting what d/p offers anyway might as well use staff as the first experiment.

Slightly off-topic I realized thief is the only one with updates like those so far after every class forum BWE3 threads were sticked by the same person mmm trying to improve social status?

maybe the truth, however the only leap on staff is skill 5 which costs 5 initiative anyway so a max of 3 leaps to drain all of your initiative just for stealth is a bad tradeoff as opposed to heartseeker leaping through smoke.

if they just added the exact copy of blackpowder to dust strike wed be ok, be able to stay in the fight, cleave and whirl instead of projectile like BP currently does then we could have on the spot aoe and whirl blind support for our group….OR add a shorter duration smokescreen field that projects OUTWARD and even functions as smokescreen… this would not only eliminate the need to access the projectile reflection of chain 3 of skill 1 staff but could also block heavy hitting projectiles AND blind if they are hit by it.

currently punishing strikes is a kitten to get access to unless you can somehow TIME the reflect on important ranged attacks…seems too much work to reflect key projectiles in a chain skill and even then if you try to time it the most the skill stays up for(if you unbind it as an autoattack) is 5 seconds then you have to redo the chain.

just WAY too much work to access the reflect when we could add the above smoke screen idea…

let alone why the hell is Dust Strike a 3 impact, separated impact skill effect like the revenant Echoing Eruption? realistically speaking if i were to sling dirt/sand/dust up with a stick it would be a curtain anyway, not 3 or such plooms of them…

though i love the idea of hiding(not long) behind my dust clouds to pop back out…wouldnt be fair if they lasted long maybe 3 seconds
