What is the point in these skills in PvE and PvP? Aside from a few gimmick builds these are never viable and never were -_-. We still have yet to have a timer to be added for the duration on Shadow Trap (AFTER WE PLACE IT) to let us know when it will go on cooldown.
Not only traps for thief, but Improvisation as well.
Do you guys think we will see some skill improvements and trait work arounds for these?

The change is great, but I fear there are going to be a crap-ton of bugs. Like, take for example if you poison a guy for like, 30 seconds… and you have 5 might, as the might goes down your poison does less damage. This is expected because its, well, might. In the case of the venoms you share with your allies theyll do the condition spec damage and HOPEFULLY duration as well BUT I predict as soon as the venom charge is gone, the conditions you dealt with those charges on go back to very very crappy damage. Should not a condition do the damage it was given at first(aside from might) until your PERSONAL condition stack amount and duration go away?
It would suck seeing 2k in poison while your charges are up just to see it do 1’s 2 seconds later because you used a flurry attack [was an example] because you exhausted the charges THAT FAST.
That might depend on whether he can apply torment of his own? Which would probably only be a problem for non-condi Necros, but still a problem.
indeed, if he could apply torment himself it should still stack with my skale venom because it does now, but it should to my condition damage AND have its duration in effect for the initial duration of the FULL condition duration that HE applied… if i give him 4 torment, and he applies 2 with his own skill, the damage should, without anything else, apply 6 torment and the damage and duration that is done, last throughout ONLY 6 torment, as the counters go down the damage is still done until the time of the original 6 decipates.
having the ability to share venoms should not just last for just the duration of the charge ( stats included ) but should last for the duration of the condition AFTER the venom charge is gone UNTIL the venoms effect wears off. it should not tick downward towards damage, it would be against the change to the trait anyway.

Will the condition damage a friend does from MY condition stats last until the condition he applied fizzles out or only when he has my charges of venoms?
After the patch with this skill change comes, If a friend is given my venom (Skale Venom)
he would get my condition duration and damage ( i hope duration is taken into account as well ) which makes conditions he applies deal the damage I would do for the duration of the conditions. But I foresee a small bug or an overlooked error in the change. As soon as the venom charges run out on him, the condition specs he has gotten from me goes away ( yes i know its supposed to ) but the damage shouldnt, at least it shouldnt until the condition goes away altogether. Does anyone else see this kicking in? Small burst of HUGE DoT and then….fizzle…. 1,1,1,1 DoT dmg… -_-

Add a random tileset for all dungeons, all monsters within, all skills of those monsters, and all strengths and weaknesses of those monsters. Make the map random, look at Warframe…it is decent but the dungeon is never really truly the same. prevent people from rerolling to an easier tileset within a time set.
stop trying to be an esport game so soon, you have years to develop this, dont pay for the less important things before you pay the NEEDED bills if you get what i mean.

Summoned a one time user merchant express in a friends instance on my level 80 while hes low level because my personal inventory was full, and the merchant wouldnt respond to me, but he would respond to my friend…i wasted it…
was in the windrock maze for charr instance, i was human hes charr.
Put a limit on how many of what classes can be in SPvP tournaments (solo and team)
Dungeons if possible could have a Random tileset like Warframe does to keep everyone on their toes, make everything random…not just 5 sets of possible outcomes of a generation.
If one instance there are flamethrower using charr with a windy path, then the next instance could be a spiral jumping puzzle path with flamerthrowers OR same spiral path but charr with guns, something like that, OR make new dungeons…we need more armor skins anyway lol same stuff gets boring. why stop at aetherpath of TA?!
For wvw: Ability to steal enemy siege thats placed and NOT in use(given theres an ability to destory the siege you already placed (ONLY BY PERSON THAT PLACED IT)
if i place a ram down and its built, then if i leave it, enemies can use an ability to steal (backwards engineer) the ram to use on the gate that was just used to flip something. If i do not TEAR DOWN the ram (since i placed it) then its my fault that they flipped it.
More wvw traps, Zerg penalty (if in a zerg 50+) then there will be some form of a debuff like “Low Field Rations: Take damage every second for each 10th player nearby, splitting off lowers this” at 50 1 tick per 5 seconds would take effect, at 60 2, and so forth…stress out that skill play should beat numbers
better fractal rewards, raise the chance of fractal tonic and ascended by 10% the higher you are in fractals. or lower the level of fractals the tonic can drop.

I like the idea but restrict said condition damage and duration to just the venoms. That is, the person receiving a venom won’t get more condition damage or duration, but it will act on the giver’s condition damage and duration.

Thieves currently don’t seem to be too bad except some traits and skills need a rework.
Primarily making traps useful, and by traps add more effects.
For example the Shadow Trap needs a timer icon much like Portal Entre has on the mesmer and like the Shadowstep skill( and return) on thief as a notifier of when we must use it/prepare to lose a stunbreaker / get out of the fight. [This suggestion has been floating around forever and nothing has been done about it]
Thieves aside from 2 traits (Thrill of the Crime + Bountiful Theft) are really selfish as opposed to being a DPS class/stealth reviving. Hopefully something could be added aside from being just the guy with combo blasts from SB. Maybe add something along the lines of “Steal an item with F1 and grant it to 5 nearby allies in the used position” (meaning if you steal an ecto, they get the effect and cannot hold onto it") or something along those lines.
The other “non selfish trait” Venom share still isnt seeing alot of love. Aside from the fact that, yeah you can share your venoms….but what good is it going to do besides becoming a low damage/low duration cover condition unless the person you apply it to is built for condition type. If I apply my venoms to some guy built for physical damage such as a warrior with a hambow build…what good is it going to do? It’s not as effective when you don’t put it to its best. The suggestion for this is during the charges you apply to allies(venoms you apply) via sharing with Venomous Aura, should give YOUR condition specs(if not outmatched by who you apply it to) to the allies applied UP TO the ammount of charges are given. For example, if I give you 5 charges of Spider Venom, then you have 5 attacks that are using MY condition damage on you, from which deplete, return to your normal condition stats. This should work much like having an elementalist’s Conjure weapon, which boosts your stats in a specific line.
warriors can have shouts to effect allies and banners
Elementalists have enough water and auras to share as well as conjure weapons
Necromancers …well they have wells etc.
Guardians…Duh, boons and condition removals like nuts
Mesmers have a few boon fields and null fields to debuff enemies and some boon sharing,
Engineer have boons and fields and blasts…
Rangers have some condition removal and fields for healz and their pets have some ally effects
Thieves…we stealth to revive, hardly have anything team oriented and have 3 traits which are hardly as effective….yes we are selfish, but its a game which we play our own way….why cant i be that one thief that helps!?
Yes with initiative we can remove defiance, have a few fields that block projectiles/skip content…but what fun is that?

When throwing Blinding Tuft (Stolen Skill) and moving around the target it automatically forces an attack without it being desired.
Any other time in stealth it will not attack, but with this skill in particular it seems to have a mind of its own.
Keep this on topic guys…trying to get constructive criticism for some ideas i posted, not arguing about gear in itself. just a solution to make it where all styels of play and gear is viable…primarily the random tile set idea.

technically youre looking for a group to join you in the living world…in a guild, just a massive-er (it flowed from my fingers didnt it?) group into a guild.
would be helpful, before i get in trouble, to hear from Gaile or someone of the devs or forum mods on this

Yeah, many may use the zerker meta, yeah many like and or hate it. the problem is not the gear, its the mobs, they need better AI, dodges, a form of retaliation, much like the knights during the assault on LA, temporary immunity to physical damage etc.
if the zerk gear is the problem, then after its nerfed/ changed the new meta would just be Valkyrie, slightly slower but slightly less damage…so think about that. Players new coming to the game are under the impression of play how you want, yet the most efficient way of getting through content says otherwise. Having a penalty to zerker gear as armor(not trinkets) such as doing a % of the damage back to yourself(armor ignoring) similar to Agony, would allow the possible formation of anyone else wanting to assist in keeping those berzerkers alive or another form of damage.
possibly add Random tilesets in dungeons and other content to where not every dungeon run is the same, always giving a fresh challenge, or adding different mob types / abilities, so not all are the same in order to push uniqueness in that specific dungeon or content. Having seeing a Flame Legion Igniter…we all know he burns and spray and prays, right? well what if we changed that, each igniter could have a different weapon set / ability introducing said new challenge.
looking on other mmo games such as the free to play “warframe” the tileset idea works…and clicks, now not saying its an entirely great game, but they nailed having that as an idea. similar to fractals but the map layout and mobs there have different effects / have a random gambit for dungeons applied…
was just throwing that out there.

Is it needed to have a smart phone?
it is near impossible for me to get a smartphone just for account authentication, and i would rather get it on mobile to prevent from being locked out without a hope in the world of getting an account back. I only have a flip phone from Verizon, but is it possible to get text authentication without having to scan the thingy?
I’ve come to notice that with the Megaserver issue that the old ways that one particular server would do things now have to be forced to do what one bunch wants over the other as opposed to what was comfortable. Not only this but how are guilds supposed to actually find people in their home server to recruit for WvWvW? Transfers are through the roof during the tournament but other than that who actually wants to pay to transfer unless they absolutely have to? I met a guy I loved to play with but he is not willing to fork over 1k gems just to do wvw with our guild. Yet outside of WvWvW we cannot find people as easily from our world to recruit to join the cause, its all foreign worlds… Guild recruitment in itself is a pain because it feels like were segregated as far as worlds go.
“Can i join?!” … “what world are you then?” …. “Borlis Pass” …. “No, sorry I am Northern Shiverpeaks”.
It feels … Dividing in a way, I hope some of you reading this could re summarize what I’m talking about. I’m having difficulty explaining my point.

I do so miss the beta events the devs participated in with us. As an example, do you guys remember the global event that we did that we were turned into branded and had to hunt down other players and convert them / if we were alive defeat the branded players?! Tis sad we may never be able to get this event back or one similar to it. Would only make sense since the Shatterer may be defeated but his boss is not quite yet. So I could see him rebranding elsewhere or having his minions convert others. This is something the game needs similar to those beta events. This or Random Tileset Dungeons.
Im not sure allie, but playing with devs like we did when the game released was fun! do you recall the branded world server wide event? i do so crave to see that come back regardless if it was exclusive…bring it back! that had pizzazz ! bring back the ability for us to be converted to a branded and attack the living characters!

The toy is much like the Zephyr_Sanctum_Model which allows others to see what they missed.

What was the point in making these drastic sweeping changes to an event while it’s in progress? I really enjoyed how it was before, now it’s just a nightmare. Every run since the latest patch has been a complete failure for me, it seems unwinnable now. Still not getting loot either, so every aspect of this patch is pretty distressing.
Before it was very hard to fail. Now you actually need to put in a little effort (srsly it’s not that hard as long as you have bodies). That’s a massive improvement.
A little effort? MY UNLOAD IS DOING 40% LESS DAMAGE THAN BEFORE THE PATCH AGAINST THE KNIGHTS! That’s on me wearing my full zerker gear. Now imagine 40% less damage on everybody, on TOP of the no more zerging change. That was the part that was unnecessary, the damage reduction on what the knights take. The split up thing I was okay with, it’s cool…but 40% less damage dealt to them by direct attacks? Congratulations, you’ve broken the fight completely.

Currently 50 people max can get the attunement per knight…k, what about the people trying to assist in killing the knight? what if alot of people wish to assist and never get credit? the timer alone isnt high enough to compensate for the new 50 player limit. The patch was done a bit too hasty without thinking of the consequences, not even one knight drops.
seems to me that the testing team looks at the abilities of Blackgate and other high end skilled servers and thinks that ALL servers have that capability…

a month from now the gem prices increase, 20 gold for 100 gems, and eventually people get fed up with something and either get bored of the farming for champ trains(which need more pizazz) or dish out the money in real life, WHICH….still wont lower the prices since they are beyond repair now. keep dishing out skins outside of the gemstore in loving world content, yet add no locker or sorts to store skins only that we earned….

Necromancer has been nerfed and rebuffed several ways but the end result never made it useful. needs more stunbreak
Thief: Traps need a rework, they just arent used much, also for several months others have been asking in several threads for a timer icon(like portal) for Shadow Trap so we may know how long we have to USE that stunbreak or lose it…use it or lose it, lol. literally.
Engineer: Blind should proc on not only the engineer but also effect his turrets targeting systems, if he cant “hit” his target, the turrets shouldnt attack it. they attack what he attacks regardless, lacking firepower in duel matches or other situations should give some leeway to the defensive player with these blinds or evades.

currently if you die while holding this itll force it to be deleted from your inventory, arent siege returned to your inventory if you die with them without placing? seems like a rip off.
Danicia, please tell the Devs that the weapons need moar hearts. My manly, bulky, mustached norn isn’t complete unless he’s surrounded by hearts. Princess Wand was a start. Heart weapons are a nice addition. Heart ARMOR is next!!!

Zerkers already have a survivability stat penalty. They don’t get the vitality, toughness or healing power other gearsets recieve.
yet people still run 5 man teams to steamroll everything in full zerker… outside of wvw and spvp in MAIN pve this is the idea to form more build diversity, so no im not trolling, im just thinking of the other players sick of zerker this and zerker that. this way they keep their damage and steam roll-ability yet would stress having support of the non zerker kind.
Some MMO’s and games out there have a penalty or two that hinder the berserker class/gear they have to either make the player take a portion of damage of what they deal OR give a penalty to armor and toughness/health or some other penalty.
Take for example from Guild Wars 1.
Inscription: Strength and Honor would give you a 15% damage increase while health is above 50%… while some other (cant find) inscription for a shield would give you armor with a penalty to health.
If there was such a penalty to berserker gear pieces such as -100 armor, health, toughness and healing PER piece (just throwing a random number as an example) then there could be other ways to benefit other non berserker geared teammates.
Benefits: You would probably want to take someone thats not geared like you to help you stay alive while you do the DPS. They would heal you.
More build diversity in groups, full zerker geared people wont be able to keep each other alive if not, tougher to live, monsters may deal double damage to you or such.
