So my post was taken down because it was against some form of conduct. In that case, discuss your solution to karma throttling. Is ANet doing this on purpose or for bots?
If it is for bots, how about creating an NPC that specifically refreshes our karma/loot timing by asking us 3 random questions (i.e, 3+7*5 =?, Click on the following choice that best describes xxx) ?
And when we have the best suggestion, we can post it on the solution area.

It says “soulbound”.
I’m just speechless at what the dev team is doing. Everything is nerfed. God, it makes me want to quit but I’m already more than halfway through legendary.
Can I please BEG ANet to enable us to remove the star icon at will?

Sometimes I don’t need the glorified STAR anywhere any time. I want to remain anonymous.
I recently changed my profession to cooking from leather, but what bothered me the most was wasting tons of money and skill points into a satchel recipe for exotics that is completely kitten Has the devs fixed it yet?
What the hell anet… Can we get a dev response on this?
Pls disable the Mesmer skill "Portal" untill you fix the server lode issus

The devs don’t care what the players think. That’s all.
The movement speed. When I do the jumping quest on EB, it is completely obvious to me I couldn’t jump with leeway when I was with enemy players. Is this supposed to happen?
Rune to equipment suggestion. Crafting suggestion (satchel).

Minor runes of XXX should have 4 tiers.
Major runes of XXX should have 5 tiers.
Superior runes, 6 tiers.
This promotes a better trading market as well as rewarding players who collect them.
Satchel armors should have 5 insignias instead of 8. An additional ingredient of skill point(s) should be added to prevent any abuse or overselling.
Mainly because feeding so many skill points (I recall it to be 12 skill points) + mats to get the satchel recipe should be rewarded and not punished. The devs should understand that equipping your own character for the first time is 9 insignias (you spent your ingredients at the mystic forge, remember that part?) and not just 8.
Please stop kitty-ing us with this problem.
I suggested this before and people reacted in a negative way. Like it was wrong.
Please do not charge us to "relearn" professions when we reach 400 in crafting.

I dont view it as a charge to “relearn” the skill but as more of a rental fee for using the crafting station.
I agree with this, at the moment at low level crafting, i have tested out most of the different crafting skills and it does feel more like a rent the workbench rather than paying paying to “relearn”.
I’m guessing when people get all their different crafting skills to 400 then they are probably likely to stay with their 2 main skills that benefit them more, either in money making or helping their guild. If im not mistaken the cost to switch a skill costs the same as a trait respec which at tops is like 3-3.5 silver.
It’s 40 silvers at 400.

Doesn’t it make sense that we should freely retain our professions without charging us to “relearn” when we already max out the levels?
Mystic forge. Along with generous amounts of skill points. Very disappointed with anet in the crafting section. I don’t pvp and wvw.
I think MANY people are finding it difficult to craft their way to level 400. Back then when TP was not up, I grinded for an hour daily for a week to get the mats, and it was still NOT ENOUGH.
With the supplements from the TP when it was up, I finally managed to get it done to 400, but I was stuck at around 100s to 200s when TP was down. People keep saying that you’re doing it wrong, but when I finished exploring the entire Queensdale with insufficient mats (as well as having pretty hardworking farm with a bit of MF going on the side)…
In fact I needed two to three times of the mats needed to advance, rune drops are NON-existent and in the end I just gave up and exploited the TP. At least I made a very decent profit (at least 100g-150g worth of equipments and mats in trading value gotten from there).
I am truly disappointed, but no one seems to think that matters. You sure you guys are not grinning because you made money?
How do you find enough fine materials for armor / weaponsmithing?
in Crafting
Posted by: LoneWolfie.1852
People are farming the most expensive mats (bloods) and with the gold, craft their own stuff. That’s their easy method of leveling up. There’s also some of the clever ones who buy low, sell high, maybe even put in some artificial inflation.
Untested but the ingame description for both sigils is 50 %. Please check if there’s any errors.

8) Better filter list for recipes, something like the TP.
Unless you mean something else, there are checkboxes where you can select what kind of stuff should be listed (including: tiers, gives exp, have enough materials, etc.). It might be eventually improved as well, giving even more fine grained control. Though FWIW I found it reasonably sufficient so far.
Ah. You’re right. I totally missed that. Maybe adding a Filter next to the gui will be great.

1) Satchel recipes for exotic armors to be fixed, 5-10% less mats (materials) for creating it.
2) Removal of butter spamming from loot bags.
3) Rehaul of crafting market so things can be actually sold if you’re a crafter.
4) Increased drops for Silvers, fragments, shards, cores.
5) Drops increased for mats.
6) Slightly better cost effectiveness transmutation for mats.
7) Mystic forge recipes can be saved into a list after discovery.
8) Better filter list for recipes, something like the TP.
9) Some of the rarer mystic forge weapons need to have better running effects. A mystic forge greatsword actually looks better than Naegling.
1) Self explained. 8 Satchels required for creating a full set of armor is really something that will probably drive anyone crazy.
2) Honestly speaking, finding sticks of butter and chocolate bars in my level 70 mobs loot bags…. Just look at the TP, a few days of the patch changed made it the highest 2nd supplied item.
3) The crafting market is almost always at a loss when we keep getting blue/green items easily. This is closely related to number 5. Either change the drop rates of blue/green items, or increase the drop rates of mats so we can easier. Recipe change to use less mats might be another solution.
4) From level 1-80 and 180 hours of gameplay, I have encountered probably maybe 3-4 of the Destroyer/molten fragments/shards/silver etc. Maybe I’m “farming” wrongly, but I think it’s time to up the drop rate a little more from mobs.
5) I’m sure there are plenty of other games that are more grindy, but I wish mobs drop more often so I can craft more things.
6) Not too sure how upgrading the mats really work, but each tier of mats upgrade should be adjusted accordingly. Tier 1 to 2 can be very high exchange of mats, tier 2 to 3 high, tier 2-3 above average, etc. This can be useful to people who have outgrown their levels, and can look forward to an abundance of next level mats to craft with.
7) Nothing much to explain.
8) I have 100 over recipes for leatherworking and weaponsmith. I’m lvl 80, I sort of want maybe tier 5-6 crafting stuff and not have tier 1-4 recipes on my list. Filtering it will be helpful.
9) Some of the higher rarer stuff forged on the mystic forge are disappointing. Should increase the visual effects to make them more attractive.
The intent was for the satchels to require the same amount of materials as crafting the individual pieces. I’m not sure where this got broken for these, but I’ll take a look at it.
I rather you save 5-10% on mats rather than require the same amount of mats crafting it individually. Otherwise satchel recipes are not worth it.
Dude, the games been out a week or two. If it looks like its an obvious mistake, report it as a bug. It probably is. Millions of lines of code, items, tables, crafts, mystic forge combinations, loot tables, vendor lists, ad nauseam. So the likelihood of a single digit typo lingering around is entirely possible. Its already been found with some cooking stuff and karma vendors.
Besides that…its a freaking crafting recipe. You accidentally crafted one thing in a digital world, where everything is replaceable, and you were disappointed so instead of shrugging and moving along, you’re just going to take your ball and go home? Part of crafting is the experimentation. Part of experimentation is risk. Risk comes with gains and losses. (begin sarcasm) I’ve spent hours in explore-able mode dungeons, spent nearly a gold on repairs, and gotten garbage loot at the end. Curse you Arenanet! (end sarcasm)
I don’t know how old you are, but be prepared for a long long road of being angry and quitting things, because life if full of little disappointments. You possibly learned a lesson…if you dont want to spoil discovery by looking up the recipes, then there is an inherent gamble of not getting out what you might put in. If you don’t want to gamble, then look everything up.
The endgame craftables are all pointless. I spend 100+ hours on this game just to fall flat on my face with the endgame crafts? Nope. It’s utterly disappointing, not full of little disappointments. What’s the point of me rushing to craft both of my professions to 400? It’s pointless. Fine workcrafts are completely unsellable, mastercraft items sell below cost, few people bother with rare crafts (although it’s still sellable), and exotics are the only thing that people seem to buy and save for.
The entire crafting system is also painful to look at. The food profession is a complete pain to look at because the amount of money and karma spent makes me think that the end game food system is pointless.
The only thing that probably interest me is the legendary weapons, but just looking at the grinding farm makes me tired. I want to craft and trade weapons or armor, but it appears it’s just pointless to do so. The market is so… warped or something.
Edit: I wrote so many times of “pointless”, when I look back at it.
“Laughs sardonically”
(edited by LoneWolfie.1852)
I spent close to 2 gold on gems to buy an armor set for my thief because it looked awesome on the preview… ended up not being for my class so I couldn’t use it, couldn’t refund it and I made a warrior just so I could wear it and then hated how it played compared to my thief.
I feel your pain on making mistakes.
Whoa whoa whoa. I understand mistakes on my part, this is my first MMO and I didn’t understand how rune placing works, lost silvers on that.
But this was something that a player cannot see. I crafted the recipe, looked forward to see what mystic forge gave me, and it was a slap to my face, left and right, a punch to the gut, and basically 5 hours+ of wasted farming to get the money as well as skill points.
This isn’t my fault but ANet’s. I just basically have no idea why the devs actually think creating a full bag needs 8 insignia instead of 6 is a good idea. It’s not even saving my time, because you needed to farm 2-3 hours in the world, and one can probably craft everything in 10 mins with the materials required.
I’m just so mad over this till the point of quitting the game, and I really hope ANet looks into this as soon as possible. AND it cannot be something like making it the same amount of materials compared to making it individually, either giving it a NEW skin OR less materials required to produce it.
I’m playing the game with the intention of being a crafter, being useful to the community and helping for free in lion’s arch since I reached lvl 80. Having new recipes to craft and make sense is the most important thing to me in-game. What’s the point of paying 2 more insignia that will give the same armor that I can craft 6 with?
Sure, there’s the trading post failure and memory crashes like every hour, but this single recipe truly made me speechless. I guess they lost me.
Completely made me feel like I was the biggest moron, ever.
I created my first exotic armor and sort of thought, maybe there’s some upgrades out there in the mystic forge. Turns out there is, so I was thinking all that crystals (which cost 12 skill points) and coins, and even wines, should give me a reward big enough to offset risking the precious exotic armor, even my skill points.
I got [Recipe Satchel of Carrion Emblazoned Armor].
I was really excited. Maybe it was some form of discounted materials, but when I took a look at it, the first thing that shocked me was having EIGHT insignia. You see… if I crafted 6 armor pieces, I will need SIX insignia. Which meant that I had to spend an extra 3-4 gold just to craft this satchel.
So I thought… OKAY… maybe it’s the gossamer and leather squares that’s discounted.
Nope. It was the exact same number of materials required to craft the armor.
After risking probably 4 Gold to get the Satchel recipe, as well as my skill points, I’m treated like I was a complete fool for using the “Mystic Forge”, which is truly a huge mystake.
Thank you ANet. Thank you indeed. Players. Don’t. Get. The. Recipe.
PS: Anet, you made me really sad. I think after I finish the story, I’m going to stop playing. I’m sure there’s lots of stuff to do, but I’m more interested in your crafting rather than WvW or PvP. This experience truly made me furious beyond words.
