I just opened 9 Veteran chests I’ve saved up. They resulted in 4 fractal skins. Buff too much? 4 ascended chests from 9 Champion chests along with a gold fractal hammer.
Back in Guildwars: Nightfall we had a quest called Ancestor Tree. The literal description of these trees are: The Ancestor Trees are venerated trees that is considered sacred by Elonian centaurs. An Ancestor Tree can be found towards the center of the west side of Turai’s Procession. Mirza Veldrunner, the leader of the last band of free Centaurs, can be found near it. Some scholars believe that the fruit of these trees were seen as divine and as a way to pass down spiritual wisdom from one generation to the next.
Could these centaurs be gathering around another Pale Tree perhaps?
This quest takes place in Kourna, which was about 2 regions away from Kralkatorrik, first the crystal desert with Glint’s lair, then theres the desolation and then we’re finally in kourna.
Having the story go on like this gives the devs a reason as to why Malyck has disappeared for all this time. Either Kralkatorrik has been active and attacking the Pale Tree (or they could go wild with this idea and bring back Palawa Joko, the undead lich lord).
@Silv Scrapper should not be able to solo a Reaper. While you’re both on-point you will always win. You will however have a hard time actually killing the Scrapper due to superior mobility.
Also.
All is vain.
No, the focus 5 is still horrible in any places that arent Dungeons or Fractals.
Typical L2P post.
This game is a team game. 1v1 you have counters. Deal. With. It.
Its amazing how you never come with anything constructive to a post. Ever.
I completly agree, it put another angle on Mesmer that had previously not existed. Made them more than a one trick pony.
Condi mesmer for roaming is generally a very poor choice due to the lack of mobility aswell as chase potential. Literally any class you fight can simply run away from you. However, in an honor 1v1 or 1vX I’d either recommend Dire for a full condi build but you can also play a really strong hybrid mesmer build with Sinister. (Ran a variant of this in spvp and staff 3 hit for 9k.)
This was over a year ago but I doubt they nerfed the staff 3 phantasm’s auto.
(edited by Loop.8106)
So, it’s about that time again. I had one of these floating around 1.5 years ago.
What is your favorite Mesmer build of all times? Be it PvE, WvW or PvP.
It can range from complete troll builds to the most broken nonsense Anet has ever produced.
Personally the most fun I’ve ever had is with the super old PU build with Pistol offhand aswell as the kind of recent Mantra build (Also incredibly overpowered.)
Mesmers rejoice!
The keyword here is “Tone down” not nerfing. Can people stop crying for nerfs and actually discuss how to properly tone down a class. The suggestions made by countless will absolutly destroy Chronomancers.
3 – Well Of Recall – The amount of alacrity has been reduced from 5 seconds to 2 seconds. The chill duration has been increased from 1 second to 3 seconds. Increase the damage, hard to say how much however. Which means well of recall will be 3 seconds traited if my specific changes go through with the trait All’s Well That Ends Well.
This is too much. To preserve this a semi-useful spell in any kind of gamemode there needs to be ATLEAST 5 seconds of alacrity on it. (Traited) upping the chill to 3 seconds is pointless since mesmers basicly has no other conditions (apart from vuln) on a non-condi spec.
I agree that Chronomancers needs to be toned down a few notches but I however think that all that’s needed is to prevent capturing with blur on. That way it cant hold a point contested for 15 minutes straight while still remaining a fantastic teamfighting tool.
10/10 for creativity.
You dont need the class wins for the achievment though.
Reaper / dragonhunter are probably the easiest / most rewarding classes atm.
No thanks. This is the most stupid proposal ever.
I like how the majority of people demanding for nerfs on diamond skin dont even know how ele works. So many ignorant statements here.
My god your stupidity amazes me.
Im gonna try to get through to you by writing the important words in caps.
We do NOT demand a NERF. We would LIKE to see a REWORK of the trait so that it CAN BE USED in more SITUATIONS. As it stands now, it’s INSTAWIN vs condi and basicly INSTALOSE vs power cause you’re giving up a grandmaster for nothing. Having it like -40% CONDITION DURATION at --→ ALL TIMES <—- would NOT be a NERF but a BUFF aswell as offer some much needed COUNTERPLAY.
I hope that clarifies this thread for you. But what do I know….
Or you can just buy the game like the rest of us. But hey what do I know?
Again this is seriously a L2P issue. If your build cannot deal ~1500 power damage your build is simply bad and you should feel bad.
Can you deal that ~1500 power damage before the Ele heals it all back up?
A pure power build can fail to do that, especially with boosted Protection. A 2k hit (easy for non-crits, and even many smaller crits) fails to break that threshold. The ele basically farts and pops up to full again.
If you fail to do 1500 damage with a pure power build all hope is lost for you and you might be better suited for pve.
Also 2k hits break the treshold.
Also, have you heard of CC and interrupts? No? Maybe go back to PVE.
Im gonna take reaper as an example. Reapers have a grand total of 2 cc’s that can hit an ele. One of them is an elite with a second channel time and an incredible huge tell when you’re casting it. The other being the nr 5 on reaper shroud which basicly acts like a mini-stun. The rest of your cc comes from fears which takes me back to my original statement. If fear acts as an effect instad of a condi that would solve all issues. But as fear cant be applied and eles can just dodge / stunbreak more than you can cc to actually apply dmg in order to break the 1.7k dmg needed its kinda silly.
Such cute argument, like Reaper needs Fear to kill a non DS Ele.
Just put your perma chill on, and you get a freekill against any none DS Ele, no matter how many condi cleanse they have.
Which again brings me back to my OP. The fact that this trait is as much hit or miss as it it is just poor design tbh. Chill is basicly the way to kill eles (Especially as chill reapers) but if it cant be applied you dont really have alot to do.
There should not be traits that completly kittenS on builds such as this do. Its kinda like having a grandmaster trait that lets you see through invis, or have 100% block chance above 90% hp.
To all the posts regarding a l2p issue. I did not say that this trait is broken and overpowered, i say that it needs some looking at. I dont say that DS eles are unkillable because they really arent (With the right kind of rotations) but for anyone playing a condi build in yolo-queue thats not the easiest thing.)

In all seriousness though, this trait needs to be looked at. In basicly every “high” mmr game theres 2 cele eles duo queing (and yes they are really duo queing) running Diamond Skin.
And why is that? Because it’s the only build with a chance of winning against a condi-reaper. Literally no build stands a chance in a 1v1 against a reaper. And ppl forget that taking diamond skin is a heavy commitment: You basically make your build very strong against 2-3 popular builds in a 1v1 (that can easily change their build a little and completely negate diamond skin), but you’ll loose tons of survivability in teamfights, where diamond skin is almost always basically useless and stone-heart is absolutely amazing and almost necessary against spiked dmg.
Do I like the trait? Hell no, but atm, it’s necessary for Ele’s to be somewhat strong in 1v1’s against the extremely powerful 1v1 builds out there.
Im not saying they should remove the trait, if you go back and read the possible solutions i have for it.
Giving it 66% reduced condi duration would basicly make it a top tier trait, even in teamfights.
“Sure, every class has access to condi cleanse, but does that make it something they’re taking? No. Chronomancer has access to one condi clear outside of sigils if they choose to bring the heal well. "
This is such a stupid statement I couldnt restrain myself from replying. It’s like saying power based builds are op while you’re not dodging evading nor blocking. It’s ignorant and outright wrong.
Mesmer has been my main class for the majority of the game. They have long suffered against condi due to the lack of condi removes.
Although saying they have 1 condi remove if you’re running heal well is downright wrong.
Arcane Thievery.
Mantra of Resolve.
Nullfield.
Traited Torch.
Classes has to trade 1 thing in order to have another, ie; Mesmer trading sustained dmg in order to burst. Trading condi removes in order to have alot of uptime on evades, blocks and dodges. (high vigor uptime)
To come back to your original statement that people doesn’t take condi cleanses. That’s not even true.
Every single guardian build out there runs either contemplation of purity or smite condition. Sometimes even both.
Warriors has high uptime on resistance aswell as berserker stance.
Revs, yeah they kinda die to condis.
Engis has limited condi cleanses too but have alot of dis-engage.
Thieves has ALOT of condi removes with shadowsteps, also incredible dis-engage.
Rangers has had some issues vs condi heavy builds in the past but with druid on the rise, thats not an issue anymore.
Mesmers has also had issues, but I’ve covered that.
Necromancers are the kings of conditions but even they dont have alot of ways to clear outside consume condition and plague signet. (x2 if traited)
Elementalists. During the celestial meta eles and shoutbows were basicly unkillable in 1v1s. They had alot of condi clears aswell as incredible sustain.

Grandmaster Trait in Earth line.
Above 90% HP you are immune to all power based dmg.
Thoughts?

In order for me not to be a complete kitten bashing something without a solution. I have a few tweeks I’d like to propose.
1st: Move this down to a Master tier and change into: While above 90% hp the Condition duration on you are decreased by 66%.
2nd: A complete rework. (Nothing should have this huge of an impact vs about a third of the builds.)
3rd: Only being immune while in earth attunement aswell as getting 4 seconds of resistance when swapping out of earth.
Thoughts?
Thats what you get from playing a broken class
I am incredibly kittening stuck right now. @Phantasm Loop
Most of the mesmer main said that mesmer has a high skill cap after patch but i just saw this vid and mesmer rn has a low skill cap.
I just have to add. This thread is regarding PU of how it’s unfair to other GM traits and what not / not fun to play vs. The video you linked, Tsuki is playing without PU. Full Glkittenter build. Full zerk gear in a wvw map where you can have ascended gear with might infusions and food.
Ive bursted warriors down with traveler runes before the June 23rd patch. WvW is not balanced. Stop treating it as actual pvp.
Well this just proves their point by not using pu it needs a nerf! And if you use it nerf it too.
LolWhat

My eyes are bleeding.
Thanx for the feedback but I am not a noob and I do not need your advice! I never had problems on 1v1, I was winning 80% of the fights or when I was loosing it was always very close, very good and intense fights. Now I am loosing 90% of the fights with necros, 70% with mesmers, guardians and warrios. My brother plays all classes and he agrees with me, that Necros are ridiculously OP at the moment, and Mesmers, Guardians and Warriors are walk in the park!
I am playing DD Ele with celestial Amulet > air, water, arcana. I am keeping cele cause I like the balance and I wan’t my fights to last long and not being a result of either me striking first and kill someone in 2 secs or me dying in a 2 sec.
If you were winning 80% of your fights, you were using the an OP build to begin with (D/D ele, the king of cele meta). Necros has always been strong vs eles due to boon-corruption. I dont see any other way of a necro having 90% winratio vs you. Losing 70% to guardians makes you bad. Nothing else.
Plague is cancerous as it is.
Blinds on shatters and daze = stun traits are a bit over the top when combined with the Inspiration tree. Although, pop Rampage and we can do absolutly nothing. At all. (When playing the mantra build)
Mage strike has been video documented missing a slowly moving Dolyak.
Staff phantasms attack gains a 10% damage boost based on how many conditions are on the target. Chaos storm + winds of chaos + shatter would stack a pretty decent amount of condis (bleed, burn, blind, vuln, confusion, poison, chill)
Had 25 vuln stacks from Diversion too
I like how you complain people cry about mesmers and then post something like this. Brilliant.
Im not taking that discussion in this thread. Keep it on topic please.
So basicly, every team has been running atleast 1 ele (mostly 2 eles during cele meta) for the longest time. Now they are finally utilizing Mesmers and suddenly everyones starting to cry. I love it.
So, I was running around on Spirit Watch in some unranked running the meta Mantra Shatter build. Anyway, I was dueling this Ranger on close when I used Staff 3 on Mesmer.
When the Phantasm crit him it blew my mind. 9k Crit.
Post pictures of your most insane crits.
We have to build that lifeforce first and we also don’t have stealth or a truly reliable source of vigor, not all of our builds will have protection, and our stab cmon lol your joking. Our condi cleanse is not superior we have condi transfering which also means we can miss and still have those condis.
I’m not attacking mesmers here, they need that distortion I know that. However necros also need a reliable form of large scale damage mitigation. If they want to tie that to deathshroud I’m fine with that and it would still require us to have lifeforce.
You do realise that without the traited “shatters removes condis” which reduces our dmg we run with arcane thievery as our only condi cleanse. (Steal three boons from target player and send them three of your conditions.) So basicly, without any enemy, we have zero condi cleanse. if you dodge / blind we have zero condi cleanse.
Ive been screwing around on a bunker ele. Scepter Focus with Water Arcane and Earth running stoneheart (cannot be critically hit).
I survive plenty fine with insane condi cleanse, 4k or so touchness. Mesmers cant touch me, thieves are a joke. Basicly the only issue is lich form without mistform / obsidian flesh / magnetic wave / swirling winds / armor of earth up. Ooh wait, they are always up.
No that’s not what I mean, I mean something like 1000 people attack s mesmer at once he pops distortion and blinks away. 1000 people attack necro he pops literally everything on his bar and dies in .03 seconds.
So if they aren’t going to give us something that can allow us to take damage like that if even for a second then our other sustain and defensive options need to be superior to other classes that have those options… and the truth is it’s pretty close to being where I think it should be, just not quite there yet…. but we are so close.
You have over 40 000 effective life with DS. (With Marauder on Power builds.) That’s without taking all siphon and heals into consideration. Mesmers has 21k with Marauder.
That being stated, if you were to give mesmers some sort of Block, Distortion, Evade, god knows what they would have to reduce the amount of actual sustain you already have. (Lets be honest, you probably have the best sustain atm outside bunkering eles and guardians, maybe some warrior specs.)
You have alot of access to protection, fairly big access to stab. Disengage with wurm (even though its not ideal) You have superior condi cleanse.
So before pointing fingers, think about not getting something for nothing.
So let me get this right, thieves has been the hard counter to mesmers for close to three years now. Mesmer finally gets some counterplay and now we are whining? Jesus you guys are pathetic.
And who keeps mes in check..? Another mesmer? Balance archieved.
Cry me a river. There are plenty of builds that kittens on mesmers now. Sure, we are not as hit or miss as we were before the patch. (Not like burst guards)
There are alot of counterplay you can make, basicly fight us on point. If you don’t win, you don’t deserve too. What people seem to be most annoyed with is the PU buff and blinds on shatters, PU is countered by simply standing on points capping. Blinds on shatters, well know you know how it feels fighting D/P thieves or Guards. Deal with it.
I dont hate the map as much as I hate going up for 2-3 warriors with battle standard. Some skills are absolutly insanely strong on this map. Even Time Warp for mesmers are a really good option alot of times. Tome Guardians aswell.
Keep:
1 Temple of the Silent Storm. Great all around map, huge come-back potential and no annoying turrets etc.
2 Legacy of the Foefire. Reminds me alot of the good old Guild Wars 1 days.
3 Forest of Nifhlel(?) I like the layout, hard to abuse; ie Rangers on temple.
Remove.
1 Battle of Khylo. I hate this map with a passion, everything from the Treb to thieves blinking through walls to engis and necros blowing people off the mid-point.
2 Skyhammer. Anything where abusing Fear/Knockbacks is a viable strategy to win, I dont like.
3 Spirit Watch. The fact that warriors can run the orb 7 times faster than any other class seems kind of unfair.
Bonus
I want Courtyard added to the Ranked Arena map rotation again. That map is amazing.
I would be glad to see a mobility buff to rangers. At the cost of Rapid Fire and/or Binding Roots. /Mesmer tired of dying to someone pressing 2
