Out of a zerk eles point of view. Most boss attacks are 1 shot kills. Kholer spin, Colossus Roof Collapse. Laurent / Champion Warden Spin / Hit. Up spider Aoe thingie (cant remember the name. Not the breath but the green aoe.)

But all in all, this is a learn to play issue. Everything is not on you though, for some encounters, you need to break the bar and / or reflect. See Alphard.

I find dungeons much more fun than zerging multiple event chains or ML, but stuff I want isn’t gonna pay for itself. If dungeons were an aditional way to get money or crafting mats, much more people would run them. They don’t have to earn as much as ML does, but at least make dungeons worth running.

Dungeons are worth running. atleast CoF, CoE, Hotw and Arah.

With the absurd amount of powercreep introduced in Heart of Thornes the time of running the dungeons are greatly reduced, for pug-groups anyway. Meaning that the only this you actually have to wait for atm are timegates, ie AC p2 p3 Arah p4.
Converting the tokens into rare gear at the higher level fractals (the ones listed above) gives you a garanteed 6 rares from 3 path. Which then again can be completed in about 20-ish minutes with a somewhat decent group.

This gives 18 rares per hour disregarding the actual drops inside the dungeon. I do realise that this method is not as repeatable as Multiloot Tarir is and its way harder to get into. But if you do in fact enjoy dungeons, they’re not as badly rewarded as you may think.

We dont need to make stuff easier. Rather the other way around. Reducing the hp by 50% would make all the encounters completly obsolete to anyone on lvl 80 thus reducing the accessability of dungeons and further more incentivice people from running them.

No thanks. The time rolling for swamp is long gone and I’d like to keep it that way. I do however greatly enjoyed the concept of Chaos Isles and they could easily keep going in that direction adding “random” dungeon bosses and encounters to multiple or a single fractal. Even have the bosses drop like a coffer of 60 tokens or something.

They need to greatly increase the numbers on the bosses though since 97% of all the dungeon bosses are bursted down within 1 breakbar.

I have about 2.6k (2592) games on ele and I average 62.46% winratio. About 2000 of those were on Celestial D/D ele, 100 of those on Fresh Air. (Mostly games, didnt win much.) and that leaves around 500 games on Aurashare/ bunker/ whatever you want to call it-ele.
In 10-12 minute games I average about 300-450k dmg due to the sustain I have. While playing shatter mesmer I average about 350-500k dmg. This seems un-fair and un-just because the fact that Tempests have superior sustain. Doesn’kitten

No. Mesmers, like thieves aswell as other burst-type classes ie; Dragonhunters put out damage in short periods of time with somewhat of a cooldown to it. Meaning, their damage actually matters. 15k dmg during a 2-4 second window with an 8 second cooldown is far superior to 15k dmg during a timespan of 10 seconds.

While I greatly enjoy reading your posts about eles being broken af, I can’t restrain myself from actually proving you wrong. So, hook me up ingame. Get on your ele, or Ill get on mine and Ill prove you wrong.

The removal of Revenant, not cause the class is broken anymore but because I absolutly just plain out hate everything about it.

As stated in the novel Sea of Sorrows, Zhaitan is friend to none. Zhaitans minions consists of Humans, Charr and Asuras alike, so I’m curious how you came to the conclusion.

As for Primordus I’d say hes more “linked” to the dwarves than anything else do to the Eye of the North story.
Kralkatorrik was asleep just outside of the Flame Legion HQ back in gw1, this however has no indication that the two are linked together somehow.
Jormag has obvious affiliation to the Norn, but it should have just as much with the Kodan that also fled the north due to the rising influences of the elder dragon.

This leaves me with the DSD or “Steve” as I’m gonna refer him to.
I do see how you easily connect the two do to the absolutly minscule amount of knowledge we know about either one. But this is all speculation and in no way accurate.
What do we actually know about Steve;?
-He awakened somewhere in-between 1120 and 1165.
-He recides under-water.
-His name starts with an S.

The connections are more like how these two are affecting each other and similarities, not a direct connection since that thing is impossible, (notice I also chose races that actually have a full pledged nation, so the Kodan who have no nation are not mentioned)I say direct connection because it easier to understand for the non-English speakers among us.
And I never said Zhaitan had only human minions, he just made them his minions first(Orr was populated only by humans)

Actually, you’re only half right about the orrs population. It’s true that only humans recided in orr. BUT the reason orr was sunk to begin with was to “save” them from the charr invasion so technically Charrs were also risen alongside the humans which used to live there.

In case some of you DH’s that want a free kill handed to you every 45 seconds did not know. Every single class(except druid/mes) can’t evade inside the tiny ward. Now lets see which classes have blocks to not be a free kill instantly inside a ward.
Ring Duration —-—————————————— 5 seconds (6 b4 nerf)

Rev has 3 blocks —-————————————- 2sec, 2sec, 3 sec
Guard has 3 —-—————————————— 1 hit, 3 hits, 180*Block
Warrior shield/mace/sword+rageskill —-———- 3 sec, 1 hit, 1 hit, 1/2sec
Engi shield or hammer —-—————————— 1 1/2sec, 2 sec
Ranger gs, staff ancestral grace —-——————- 1 hit, 1 1/4 evade

There’s a list of blocks, now all you have to do is press f1 twice and the majority of these classes will have nothing else to defend themselves with for 4 whole seconds.
So for a quick recap, only Revenant, Mesmer, Ele, on their normal meta specs have cds to live thru standing still for 5 seconds.

You are asking for Warrior, Engi, Necro, Thief to be a free kill if you hit 5 on them.
Guardian and Druid have enough heals for it to not necessarily be a death sentence, But generally druid is weak to cc also..

Now REALLY? Really is it a good idea to revert it?
(Hint: The answer is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO we need less cc in the game not bringing UNCOUNTERABLE CC back.)

Or you pop stab and walk out of it. Reapers and wars have pulsing stab when in zerk / shroud. Thieves shouldnt get hit. Engis also have stab to get out. Or you know, just reflect everything.

Fast hands baseline would be so freaking useful for warriors to have. Been playing around with Shoutbow zerker post patch.
It does pretty well, considering all the projectile hate. Missing fast hands kinda keeps the build from being somewhat competetive.

Hey, I’m currently in the search for a PvP-oriented guild. I’m legendary and has been since the second week of the season. I climbed the ladder on a mixture of DH, Ele and Reaper.
I’m playing gw pretty much daily and have access to TS with mic and all that good stuff.

I’m currently in the middle of finishing the last Champion titles, so farming unranked is basicly what I’m doing these days.

Projectile Denials Are a Problem

Projectile hate in this game is pretty ridiculous. And it’s odd because so many ranged attacks in the game aren’t projectile at all, such as beam attacks, ground target aoes, necro scepter, mesmer shatters, utilities etc, so its not like projectile hate is pushing melee to the front. And projectiles don’t seem to be any stronger than non-projectile oriented ranged options, so I really don’t understand it.

The reason people complain is they get countered by something depending on what profession or build they are playing and instead of changing their build/profession/play style they’d rather complain about it and get everything in the game nerfed except for what they play. And apparently their complaints get listened to and everything else gets nerfed and everyone who enjoyed whatever they were playing now have to change and play some other profession or build they don’t wanna play cuz their previous one is no longer viable. Which makes no sense but that’s the way it is……

Magnetic Aura, Swirling Winds, Defense Field, Distortion. The thing about these spells / effects are that there’s no counterplay.
I am currently enjoying DH alot but the fact that. 3/5 longbow skills are reflectable is tiring. We do however have a weapon swap which consists of Sword / Focus. The only “Powerful” AA-chain skill is the third one, which is reflectable. Our only other damaging skill on that set outside of focus 5 is our Sword 3 (Zealot’s Defense) which is a deflect “Destroy ranged attacks while casting magical projectiles.”. The thing about this is that if you actually Sword 3 vs a reflect, the deflect does in fact not work. You get hit by the full dmg.

Our last skill we havnt covered is Focus 4, which is also reflectable. So this means that 6/10 skills are reflectable.

I’ve had 22k Chill damage on my combat log while i was a thief. Don’t ask me how i mitigated that kitten. Your PS damage is peanuts compared to what I endured …

What a terrible comparison.
You compare a single attack that hits instantly one time with 40 chill-ticks that are caused over at least 40 seconds and by multipile attacks. Considering now that a thief cleanses chill even by sneezing, it means that this chill damage was caused over an even way longer period than 40 seconds.

When I have 1 bleed on me the entire game I can show you about 90.000k in the combat log. Following your comparison : 90k> 22k – therefore ‘bleeding’ > ‘chill’

How is this a terrible comparison?
Outside of the power damage that I ate (because every reaper runs Mercenary amulet which is +Power) I had to endure chill damage too. Which was no small amount.

Obviously I’ve played very defensively but 22k passive damage (or 90k if those numbers are real) on a class that runs around in 11k max hp, is kind of over the top.

No decent thief runs Berserker.

I would much rather have the option to preview builds of players. Both for teammates and enemies.

Worst case scenario, you’ll see the build of the guy that mopped the floor with you and you’ll learn how to counter it eventually.

Id really like this for teammates, not for enemies though as it kinda eliminates the point of shifting out specific traits in order to gain an edge vs said team.

We’re in a bruiser-power meta, not a condi one.

Yes and no. I’ve heard that Reapers are incredibly popular in the lower division due to their incredibly low skill-floor. You can’t really go that wrong on a reaper compared to most other classes.
However, in the higher divisions. Scrappers and Revenants dictate the pace of the game far more than Reapers due to the Versitility and Mobility they have.
Mesmer is also a really potent sidepoint contester.
This leaves us with Eles, Dh’s, Thieves and Druids. Druids fits kinda good into the power bruiser phrase, but I wouldnt say the rest do.

This means there are currently 3 builds fitting into the powerbased bruiser catagory.
2 builds fitting into the condition brusier type.
Ele on healbot duty and Guardian + Thief on the old glass power builds.
I’d say we have a pretty well-rounded metagame considering the build diversity is absolutly abyssmal.

yeah Guardians according to Karl are “in a good spot” even though both core and Dh are heavily flawed imo

Guardian is in good spot, it is the others that arent, but while other are better(in a much easier state to play them ) player will continue to play.

Can u imagine if other classes were balanced as guardian are? can u imagine the rage of players that would need effort to win?

So I play every class in sPvP except for Warriors and Thieves. My main has been Mesmer since release. I’ve seen the good days and the bad.

But I have to chip in after reading what you’re saying about guardians. If I’m honest, DH is the class that I feel has one of the lowest skill floors. Just the other day, I played DH in ranked pvp and managed to deal on the border of 700k damage. 700k! I am currently Diamond 2, so not Legendary, but assuming the league system has some semblance of correlation to realistic skill, I was not fighting potatoes. And I didn’t know what I was doing, either. Sure, I know the basic burst combos, but I have by no means even approached mastering the class, but was still able to dish out tons of damage and felt rather useful to the team.

I really don’t want to start an ego stroking contest, but to say that Guardians are the only class that requires “effort” to win is not only hilariously inaccurate, but rather insulting too.

700k damage in a ranked match? As a DH? I need to see a screenshot…

This spear was carved from one of Kralkatorrik’s own spines.”
This is how Glint explains to Destiny’s Edge how they can beat Kralkatorrik. She had a spear made from one of his own scales during the previous elder dragon rising.

The spear was lost during that fight as kralkatorrik flew away.
Glint explained fighting him as; “Fighting him will be like fighting a sandstorm.”

I see this as the strongest elder dragon and I hope that they take that in mind when they will finally introduce us to it.
In the book authored by J. Robert King, Edge of Destiny, they describe the dragon rising as following.
“The mountain was moving, shifting, growing. One of the foothills shuddered. Gravel and sand sifted down its side, revealing rows of horns. Beneath one curve- a curve that looked suspiciously like a giant eyebrow- opened something that looked suspiciously like a giant eye.”

“Then the titanic head broke free of the mountainside and rose on a muscular neck. The neck looked as if it would stretch from the end of Black Citadel to the other.”

“The dragon was spreading its crystalline wings. They became the sky. Sinews flexed and bones folded, and miles of wing gathered the air.”

So basicly, as everyone knows ingame. Kralkatorrik could be seen back in Guildwars 1 in the Charr homelands, and is the cause of the brand in Guildwars 2. He simply flew over this patch of land and transformed tens of thousands of servants that hungered for “all things living”.
How are we going to defeat this? I really hope Anet gives this the fight it deserves.

I dont see how many of the map mechanics from HA will ever work in gw2. IE; Antechamber.
Thieves will be absolutly crazy in this map.
Without actual healers (Im not counting cleric eles), the whole point of a Ghostly goes away aswell.
On maps like Fetid River where the “Balanced” setup (2 warriors, ranger, mes ele prot fuse and Rt/N) was so prominent on dp’ing out the enemy team in order to prevail, it just wont work unfortunatly. I do however would love to see some of the maps used as conquest. Such as the Burial Mounds.
I’d love to see an enhanced version of forgotten shrines to be a 5 point conquest map for unranked at some point.

Most fun Ive ever had was after the specilizations trait overhaul and the PU buff.
I played PU Mantra mesmer, won 1v4’s. My god that was so broken. GS / ST Shatter <3

Dragonhunters are unlplayable right now with all the no-brain reflects being thrown around. Everything from Swirling deflects to overload earth, Rebound and Magneting aura. To Engi hammer, defense field and distortion.
Not to mention the complete lack of mobility and sustain.

So if you lose vs 2 dh teams, balance is not the issue.

Yes, a full group of solo queuers cant go up vs a 5 man premade.
This meaning you can, as a solo queue face a 4 man premade.
