air and fire have a cooldown period, which means it’s irrelevant whether phantasms can trigger them.

however, when charr stop running while running and strafing, they do the correct animation of stopping while on all fours, and getting up naturally (holding W and E then releasing)

it was obviously fan service. or at least responses to popular criticism:
- the final fight with mordremoth is way more involved and personal than zhaitan
- THE PLAYER kills trahearne
- tybalt is glorified

You’re not thinking big. First you add the jumping mechanic. Then you mod in random boxes strewn across the land. Boxes that you can jump unto. And once on the box, you can jump again to jump even higher. It’s only the beginning… Reach for the staaaarrrss!

it is a huge problem how slow mesmer’s scepter ether bolt chain is from a distance; it is SIGNIFICANT!
the only way to minimize it is to use a different skill after each skill in the chain: (example: ether bolt > phantasm > ether blast > confusing images > either clone) or get really close to the target
stop using runes of force/accuracy they don’t affect illusions

Why does every mesmer illusion summon skill still complete when the target is either out of line of sight or moves out of it. It’s probably the most frustrating thing about playing a mesmer. Why can’t they just not activate at all or even go through an interrupt cool down. It seems many skills on other classes don’t even suffer from this issue.
This has been so annoying since the very day the game released and it seems like we just accept it. A foe moves behind the corner of a wall or just over a small elevation change on a path and the skill still completes and does nothing, it doesn’t skill cancel with a slight longer CD.
It doesn’t even matter if the target moves out of LoS, casting the skill when there’s no LoS to begin with still completes the cast with no summon. while out of sight still makes the skill complete regardless of whether it moves into it or not.
Even the illusions that get summoned on the mesmer itself go to completion without summoning anything
Other professions don’t even seem to suffer from this issue.
Has to be the #1 most frustrating thing about mesmer.
fyi phantasms used to be able to be summoned regardless of line of sight, like how clones are now
but yea there are a lot of skills that work this way? no LOS = miss. in fact, some skills fail because they’re projectiles and can be sidestepped, or worse: reflected!

with signet of the ether and continuum split you can get 3 phantasms right off the bat :x it’s fantastic damage, but you will lack alacrity and your group will suffer

you really think steal was intended to be used without a target just to trigger some traits? this kind of change has happened to several professions and for good reason, i.e mesmer’s Imagined Burden. Spatial Surge is useless without a target, but a trait made it beneficial and was changed to only work in combat. same thing!
frankly, i think it’s better this way; impossible to accidentally waste steal now. bad feeling when a target suddenly goes invisible as you use it

shattering from a distance feels wasteful; even with a greatsword i feel compelled to close distance into melee range to achieve a full shatter. why does it have to be this way??
what if—instead of baseline Illusionary Persona—using a shatter would always create a clone that instantly starts running from the mesmer’s position to go shatter the target?
it doesn’t necessarily have to replace one of your existing illusions, it would still be instant in melee range, and it would be effective even from afar.
it’s really tiring having to constantly close in with a scepter or staff!
the seekers block the duelist’s attack way too often so i’m thinking swordsman, avenger and berserker phantasms are the way to go

A ferry (or ferryboat) is a boat or ship (a merchant vessel) used to carry (or ferry) primarily passengers, and sometimes vehicles and cargo as well, across a body of water.
If there is no body of water involved, it should be a Taxi.
ferry’s definition is a lot more flexible than that, unlike taxi. how about taxi when payment is expected, and ferry when it’s free

ferry, on the other hand, actually matches the description of what we’ve been doing:
transport from one place to another on short or regular trips.

actually how about we just eliminate the need for ferrying/taxi-ing; hunting LFG just to join and leave for a filled map is awkward, and players who aren’t “in the know” get left behind. should this really be necessary??
so what’s the workaround? can i get the map completion reward on a new mesmer character if mine already has world completion?
my revenant can get map completion rewards from magus falls, but my world completed mesmer cannot

with illusion-death traits gone, there is no benefit in replacing a third phantasm with a clone, and it just feels bad when it happens. if i want to keep 3 phantasms, i feel limited to fewer skills, and have to be careful with a scepter or just not use it at all.
is there any reason to continue having clones replace the third phantasm?
could a new effect occur instead of replacing a third phantasm, like teleporting your furthest phantasm to where the skill would normally create a clone? something else??
