Malediktus, did you reach 6 x2 division or just 6 (legendary)?
I have lost my achievement too. But i reached only 6 division and don’t know… may be they just fixed a bug??

Legendary x1 because dev in pvp forum said we only need Legendary x1.
And as I said I still have the title, but the achievement itself got reset.

Looks like a few of the missing achievements got white listed today, but there are still quite a few missing such as two black lion collections, old wintersday and halloween achievements and some other historic achievements.
Also the achievements from this patch are missing.

Sucks to be you, but there has to be a cut off somewhere. There always will be people 1-2 pips away from their goal. It is unlikely that you are the only one who got cut off.

As I said I doubt that crystalline ore will ever be added to other sources in any amounts worth mentioning. It would make this map obsolete since it is the only reason to do this map.

If you want a challenge go to raids or fractals. Open world is meant to be fun for the casual player. Before it was not fun, not it is.

Raids so far are way easier than in other games I played and the current fractals 100 feels easier than the old fractals 50. So what is your point?
The current raid difficulty is what I wish dungeons would be and Anet work their way up from there to fractals lvl 100 and raids.

Meh, it seems the only argument you have is that Dragon’s Stand isn’t fun. That’s not a good enough reason to me to “just remove the ore requirement”. A certain amount of effort should still be involved imo.

Read again. I do not care if the map specific rewards or legendaries need a ton of these currencies. But why do guild hall vendors require currencies from this specific map? They have quite literally nothing in common with the Dragon Stand map and are just exotic skins. The only explaination I have for this is, that anet knows how boring this map is and needs to add more artificial reasons to go there.

Hi everyone,

Henry back again. How are we all doing?

I did some research over the last week and was shocked by the results. A large number of people want ranger pets to be nerfed alot. My research showed that a 30% nerf to the damage of all pets in pvp would be acceptable to players.

Having collected the data, i ran the numbers and found that druids were overperforming by between 11 and 32% in ranked pvp matches. With the pet being responsible for most of this overperformance. I was shocked by these results, but the facts speak for themselves.

Ranger pets need big nerfs.

Any thoughts and opinions are welcome.

We all think the crystalline ore cost seems high today. There’s no way I’m “wasting” my hard-to-come-by ore on armor that sports a logo that causes all my color schemes to look bad.

However, in a year, it wouldn’t surprise me if many of us find we have way too much ore. At least, that’s what happened with bloodstone, dragonite, empyreal, bandit crests, etc

I believe you are wrong on this one. We can only get crystalline ore from this one map. People who do not enjoy the boring nature of the events on this map will never have an overabundance of this currency, especially if they plan to build all 16 HoT legendaries, which would be 4000 crystalline ore, or roughly 600 hours on this map alone.
To compare this with bloodstone dust, empyreal fragments or dragonite ore is not a good idea. It took me less than 2 weeks to have too many of those since about everything in this game gave you a load of them and not just one specific part of the game (noxious pods in dragons stand and two story missions on that same map).

Dragon Stand offers nothing of value other than crystalline ore. It is neither good for farming crafting materials nor making gold in general. I heared there are a few rare skins in the noxious pods, but they are so rare that you are better off farming the gold for them and buying them on TP, so those are not a reason to go there either.
As it stands right now I will never visit this map again once I finished the “Ex Machina” collection, because it does not feel worth my time (this is no fun to me: easy, boring, repetive and bad rewards) and will just skip any non achievement related rewards this map may offer. This also means I will skip on all the HoT legendaries and not build a single one of them (only building the precursor since the collections give AP).

Judging from people in our guild and my friendlist I am not the only one who dislikes this map and just tacking on the map currency on a lot of random rewards (guild hall vendors) will not make me farm this map just a single extra run.

I have a similar problem since I reached legendary division. Like 95% loss rate. In diamond I often won 5+ games in a row. Not sure what changed.

The whole pvp community is very toxic. Half the time they want to report you for not doing as they say. I am not playing pvp to take orders from random other people I never met before.

I would be for switching the costs around. 40 commendations and 10 crystalline ore.

In a way, having these costs makes it a slightly more rare skin, rather than something every guild has. There’s a bit more effort involved that way.
Bit sad that you need to do DS only for it tho. There’s nothing for wvw or pvp to get them, right?

40 commendations and 10 crystalline ore would be worse. Instead of making 1 skin every week + 4 DS runs you could make one every 4 weeks + 1 DS run.
They should just remove the crystalline ore requirement like they already did from the decoration traders.

But personally i think they need to rethink the main ingredients for scribe like lens seed oil… does everything in the guild have to be about that oil. Why dont anet add copper, silver, gold and add lyn seed oil as the new currency?

I havent used a single lineseed oil when going from 1 to 400 scribe.

These aura items are completly worthless to me as long as they can not be used on best in slot items (ascended items). Would sell it in a heartbeat if I should ever get one.

I doubt they will add more sources for crystalline ore. It would make large parts of the map useless. I am already suprised that noxious pods can give map relative crafting materials of the 3 previous maps.

If you are trying to get 3 full sets of Armor, 2 full sets of weapons and some mini why do you expect it to be easy?

If you want crystalline ore to be trivialized then go a step further and suggest those items boughten with them be sellable/buyable on TP.

Or you know…ask for new content with crystalline ore available in it…

I dont ask it to be easy. The timegate on the crystals from the guildshall workshop and the timegate on guild commendations alone will prevent you from getting them fast. But why does it require crystalline ore to buy things from the guild hall only vendors? Makes no sense at all.

Again, if you think that a gold amount majority of the players are never going to have is cheap, you are obviously living in a different world.

Why should it be for everyone? And yes 600g is manageable by everyone if they set scribing 400 as their goal. It is only a fraction a legendary and even casuals seem to have multiple of legendaries nowadays.
If it would be meant for everyone they could remove crafting levels and make everyone able to craft everything. If everyone can max it with no efforts there will be no ways to profit from the craft unless there are time gates.

I don’t know what world you live in where 600+ gold is “cheap”, but I wish I lived there too.

It is cheap for maximising a crafting profession, the other professions are too cheap. One of the reason why they got upped to lvl 500 I think.

The game is too casual friendly, even raids. It is hard to find anything challenging in PvE unless you handicap yourself (eg solo group content)

You say “very cheap”. I say “it costs more gold than i currently have”.

I say it will always cost more than someone currently has unless they make it completly free.
If levelling crafting is cheap, it will never be profitable to craft anything without time gates.
Initially I also thought scribing was too expensive (~5000g), but Dulfy’s guide proved me wrong.

With Dulfy’s guide it is very cheap to level scribe. Does not need a change anymore in my opinion. Now it become even less profitable to craft stuff like Superior Sigil of Concentration, if everyone can do it.

I hope Anet will add a title like “Master Scribe” for people who got 400 before patch.

what about the armor set from pvp they said was coming back?

the return of earnable armor sets? i don’t feel like there were nearly enough in the expansion that had a premium price tag of 50 dollars.

new fractals would be good.

a dungeon revamp would be welcome.

new mini dungeons.

new jps.

a whole entire set of new legendaries before 2020 would be dope.

the return of fun would be fresh too.

This is about things I want to see back. Not about new things either. Personally I have all the old pvp armors so I couldnt care less if they never come back. They are ugly anyway and the only thing that makes them special is that they arent available anymore.

There are a few things which I would like to see back for a long time now:

- Crown Pavillon including Liadri
- Super Adventure Box
- some of the old black lion weapon skin sets like fused, sclerite, zodiac amongst other which never were available for tickets ever since the introduction of the collection achievements
- some of the old gem shop skins which used to be costume parts eg wide rimmed glasses

Everyone is evaluating the crystalline ore requirements by today’s standards. In a year (or two), tons of people are going to complain they have no use for them. That’s pretty much exactly what happens with every similar ‘currency’: when ascended mats first came out, people complained about how hard it was to get empyreals or bloodstone or dragonite. Fast-forward a year or two and folks were demanding ‘eaters’ (which we now have).


For what it’s worth, I don’t have any interest in spending 500 crystalline ore on minis (even though I think some are great). However, I fully expect that in a year (if I’m still playing), I’ll think it’s cheap at twice the price.

As long as it is only available on that one map it will never be “cheap at twice the price”. I already grew sick and tired of this boring map after having earned around 1k crystalline ore (most of it from my 18 story playthroughs, 40 ore each). The only good thing about the map is the way too easy Mordremoth fight and the nice map art. All the previous events are just so boring that I would prefer going afk during them if I didnt need to tag them for map participation.

The changes for season 2 will make this less of a problem. Each team will have a tight MMR grouping such that each teammate should be very similar in skill to you. This is different from season 1 and unranked where we balance players on each team, i.e, high MMR and both sides and low MMR on both sides.

The goal is to ensure than if the higher skilled team wins, all the higher MMR players go up the ladder. Less unlucky high MMR players will drop on the ladder, and fewer low MMR players will get carried up the ladder.

So if you’re unlucky and got matched with a low MMR team, you will keep losing and have no way to recover?

You wouldn’t be matched with a low MMR team unless you also have low MMR.

But what about the opposing team? If the system’s going to choose team mates as skilled as us, then what about the enemy players? What if we get paired up against enemy players with a much higher MMR?

Then that would mean either you climbed to high in divisions and you need to drop some, or the other team isn’t high enough yet and they are climbing out.

But loosing or even dropping divisions is not fun. People want to see progress because the permanent pvp progression system (rank 1-80 was made laughable short) is no longer of interest.

In the “everyone wins” mentality the leagues mean nothing. They should represent skill level, and not cater to people’s desire to always get more, more, more.

Skill level lol. This game will never be about skill. MMOs are about progression, if you want skilled gameplay, play games like LoL, Dota, etc.
Everyone who is above average should be able to reach legendary division if they put in enough effort, not just ESL like players. They got their ESL stuff for themselves already.

Maybe they don’t want you to have them all. Or maybe they only want you to have them all as a long term goal, like years. They like scarcity and only some people having the rewards or only having them after lots of time and effort. Since they like scarcity and long term goals then they’re not going to reduce the numbers needed or the number of ore that you get.

Why would anyone except super completionist pay these silly prices for generic looking miniatures? Noone who sees them will recognize them as something more than the 1-10 gold miniatures you can buy from TP.

I feel like we need to talk about the added crytalline ore cost to guildhall exclusive vendors.

Armor recipes cost 40 ore + 10 commendations each = 720 ore + 180 commendations just for unlocking the recipes of the armors.
Guild insignia = 10 ore and 3 commendations
Weapon recipes (unlocks recipe for both guild hall variants) cost 40 ore + 10 commendations each = 640 ore + 160 commendations
Guild miniatures: 3x 10g + 25 commendations + 50 ores, 4x 20g + 50 commendations + 100 ores, 4x 30g + 75 commendations + 150 ores = 230g, 575 commendations + 1150 ores.

I can live with the commendation (even though I dont get the high prices for the miniatures, since they are nothing special at all) and gold prices. But why do you need crytalline ore and in such high quantities? Crystalline Ore has nothing to do with guilds since dragon stand is not a guild activity and never will be. It is just a boring ever repeating mind numbing easy event map (the worst of all 4 HoT maps in my opinion).

Do keep in mind that we also need Crystalline Ore for other stuff such as:
HoT legendaries – 250 each – 4000 in total if you are going to build all 16
Specialisation collections – 9x 50 – 450 ores in total
Various recipes (20 different ones) – 50 to 125 each
Blademaster Diamid miniature – 250
Sigil of Rending / Rune of Leadership – 100

I suggest removing or at least lowering the cost by 90% at guild hall vendors. There are enough other sinks for crystalline ore and the guild commendations are already making it heavily time gated.

I would advise against soloQ at the moment. Try to find a 2nd and 3rd person, it raises your win chance a lot. Double druid+mesmer is a good combo for carrying a team.
