We are planning on having a solution for this that should come out with the second raid wing. I would recommend saving any extra miniatures that you get until then
.
What if we already deleted them?
I deleted a few duplicates and I know someone in our guild who had 6x mini gorseval
Dont open the meta event chests until you have 100%+ map participation. Helps a lot imo.
Adryn is easy. Throw a bottle of poison (they spawn around him) on him when he gets a break bar. Deal tons of bonus damage. Easy kill.
I crafted some guild ballistas yesterday, it is a lvl 225 recipe
Maybe I should try sending in a ticket, but I am doubtful it helps.
Each rare has several spawn locations, so it is useless to camp one spot. Dune Soarer is also easy and fast to solo, so people might not call him out in map chat.
Just finished getting 400 scribe with this guide and [RiFa]’s help. Went very smooth.
Dulfy made a very good guide to scribing:
http://dulfy.net/2016/01/06/gw2-scribing-crafting-leveling-guide/
Might be worth to consider levelling scribing now while slivers are cheap.
For next year Anet should put a 90 seconds cool down on looting the JP chest. That will slow down these bots a lot.
Looks like a good addition to my block list.
However, if only one of them were hacking/botting, isn’t it unfair to ban the other one as well? Imagine a house of room mates that all play the game. If one bots, all of them get banned? Hardly sounds fair.
Person in video is one say one ban was IP ban if I remember correct because I only watch it once before video private. Of course they also say they did not cheat and Gaile prove they did. So I wonder how honest person in video was.
More likely it is an hardware id ban and not an ip ban. Ip bans are useless.
What is a map point? Invisible check points on maps?
Do it like me and finish the story a lot of times. I am working on my 14th story playthrough at the moment. Takes around 4h per run with level up tomes and teleport to friend to silver wastes.
On the plus side I got colossus precursor from one of the red bags you get as story rewards today.
Leg Armor for us stinking casuals (idea)?

They could make a 2nd legendary armor set for the casuals/non raiding crowd. But I am against giving them the same set.
Hey! I’m really liking how fleshed out the API is becoming, and I was wondering: for the /account authorised endpoint, will total play time across all characters as well as current account AP be added in the near future? Calculating the former based on the playtime of all characters sounds like a workaround but doesn’t take into account characters which were deleted and are no longer providing data.
I just thumbed through the game code and am pretty sure we don’t actually track per-account play time — only per-character play time. Let me know if that’s wrong, but I’m not seeing a field for it anywhere in the account data.
The total AP is actually not a bad idea; I’m not sure why I didn’t add that yet. It’ll probably require the “progression” permission to match a related upcoming change. I’ll make a tracking issue on github for it later.
It must track total playtime somewhere, because /age does not go down if you delete a character and even goes up when you stay in character selection screen.
Is there any way to get this without being a multiclass player???
I just lost 19 pips beacuse I tried to get it… (I used to be legendary x2)
This is so dumb im ruining my teammates games and mine are boring too….
Why didnt you finish legendary x3 before doing this? Why dont you wait for next season to do it?
I found a Mordrem Guard Sharpshooter in Tangled Depths who guards a chest but ALWAYS spawns inside a wall. He neither attacks you nor can I kill him.
The screenshots provide details.
I like mastery points.
There are 17 more tyria mastery points than required to max them all. So there are plenty of options
For HoT there are 22 more mastery points than required. Good luck.

I think Khylo is the worst map of the ranked maps. I always loose all motivation to play when that map appears. Temple is my favorite one.
Whenever I claim a few pips in ruby I get useless teams where people dont even know the basics, play naked to purposely die all the time and other crap.
then you need to buy character slots to have a legendary backpack?
really i…
you can delete characters and reuse slots
Tbh for a legendary backpack you should be forced to complete the achievements for all 9 classes not just 2 or 3
I always get 40+ from each DS run. The noxious pods are your main source of ore and you can farm the ones outside of the special areas at any time.
Sounds bs unless you are spending map currencies to buy additional machetes.
Usually Axemaster Gwyllion is dieing first. You must go on the wrong maps
Are you a bot?
I missed that, if they said that. And it would be weird too. A temporary ‘achievable’ thing, should not be under permanent pvp section. It should be in Ascension section.
The name of the title suggests that it would be for the very first season only if you ask me. I cannot find the blog atm though, there are just too many useless blogs to find anything.
The title should unlock once you enter legendary. It’s a bug, and is slated to be fixed in our next release.
Is it only available this season or the whole year?
I am not sure if I will reach legendary this season because the state of pvp makes me furious.
It’s under normal pvp so it’s permanent. The only way to NOT be able to do it later is if arenanet decides to stop the league (pips) system (blocking the permanent achievement) progress.
Didnt they say each season will have a unique title for legendary or something?

Farming stronghold is how all the people I know with diamond an up got there. Because the good pvpers avoid that map like the plague, farmers can farm pips there.
Anet deviating from their manifesto and turning everything into grinding fest is the reason many of my friends are “taking a break” from the game (and so am I).
I also wished I could finish the new Raid with my friends as well, but like me they have jobs and never expected the raids to be about knowing everything by heart instead of being a good player.
Are you me?
Seriously though, this is exactly how I feel about the content right now. Without insane RNG, full-time grinding or playing some of the worst-designed raids I’ve seen (in a game that wasn’t supposed to be about raids -.-) – I can’t make even the slightest bit of progress towards any goal. This, combined with the horrible connection I’ve had to the game recently (everything else runs fine, including demanding online games), is really sapping my will to play. I want to play this game, I want to have fun… but non-existent drops, insane gold-gates and content that rewards copying a build instead of good play… this is the opposite of GW2.
But hey, we got raids now, so the 90% of the playerbase who are raiders are happy. ^^
The game is not grindy at all if you do not set yourself unrealistic goals. Maybe settle for a nice looking auric weapon instead of a legendary instead for example.
They must have disabled em or idk.. one guy finished it in 13 seconds around launch so..
More than likely they used a teleport hack. Anet never removes banned people from leaderboards

Well of course noone will donate because everyone needs stuff for themselves. I find myself in that same loophole and do almost everything by myself in our guild although I am not even officer
I will probably regret all this effort for the guild one day
(edited by Malediktus.9250)
So tried this for the first time ever (Apparently Glints Bastion is “locked” behind you getting silver in this)
10 try’s didn’t even get bronze
2 try’s i didhow in gods name am I to get silver, ley line spark silver was hard to get but possible to get silver/gold this for me is impossible
- I checked the video but that’s impossible for me to to do,
so many good things with HOT but a lot of really poor decisions also
Practice. I am horrible at jumping puzzle like stuff but managed to get gold in around 6 hours of practice.
Chak Gerent was probably not a bug, maybe too tightly tuned for open world though. I enjoyed the challenge even though I never managed to get into a successful map pre nerf. Now it is so easy that I command it twice a day with minimal fail rate
I would assume it is bugged (otherwise it would be very poorly worded and mean you need legendary x6)
Calling it adjustments or fixes is just marketing speech for nerfs (most of the time, in rare cases it is a true bug)
The raids are really polished and I cannot think of any encounter mechanic which looks bugged.
(edited by Malediktus.9250)
If you die in the mission Bitter Harvest in the fight again Faolein you respawn inside a wall and cannot do anything other than waiting until the NPCs killed Faolein.
I am not sure. But I will go out on a limb and guess that when the next raid wing hits. The first will get a slight nerf. This will allow the better groups to keep progressing. And allow the groups that are having trouble to catch up a bit and do the content as well. It keeps the more elite players happy by having the new content hard. It allows the more casual players to actually do the content. I assume this will be the case because nearly every MMO raid I have ever done has done this. It makes sense.
So to relate to your question. It may not matter, if the new encounters are balanced to the new profession balance.
I definitely would not be happy about a “slight nerf” unless the current rewards and achievements get retired so people who beat the true difficulty do not loose prestige.
The thing that is expensive is not scribing itself, but wanting to have it right now. Think
6 – 12 month ahead, things like coarse sand, linseed oil, resonating slivers and pigments are only used for guildhall upgrades and scribing so the price will inevitably drop to an acceptable level.
I dont think they will drop much further unless Anet intervenes one way or another (droprate or recipe changes). The demand will stay high for those items since you need them for everything in large amounts. Even linseed oil barely dropped in price even though they can drop from wintersday gifts and those get opened in masses. Linseed oil might even go up after wintersday is over.
I dont know about your guild, but in our the “guild donation craft” thing is not working out at all. I am basically upgrading the whole guild hall by myself (90% of the funds coming from me). If there would not be for our small weekly guild tax (5g) you can bet it would be ~100% of the funds coming from me.
People want all the rewards with the least amount of personal effort.
So you can count on people being selfish with scribing, too. I expect that I will have to fund 100% of that myself.
The majority of people in this game are selfish. Why should they donate their hard earned materials and currencies to the guild if they need those very same materials for their own use (mainly legendaries)?
(edited by Malediktus.9250)
A-net is not driving the prices up its the players. We got a new crafting profession that everyone finds useful. So those items are in very high demand. Once more player max scribing the prices for all of those mats will drop. Still only the very rich players with 4-5k spare gold should have maxed scribing by now. A-net could increase the drop rate of those mats but what would happen when every maxes scribing? Those items would become worthless.
A-net thinking about it in the long term not short term. They want items to still be valuable and not have a stockpile of mats on TP that have a higher vendor value the sell value. Like silk/thick leather were before ascended gear or Blues/Greens before Luck.
Of course Anet is driving the economy, by setting the droprates and creating the demand by setting the recipes. Calling GW2 a player driven economy when everything is handcrafted by Anet is nonsense. I bet John Smith can predict the stabilized price of an item by +/- 15% in prior to any update happening.
Levelling scribing should not cost a fortune. Making high quality furniture (such as lets say a gilded marble table) should cost money. Not basic tables or chairs.
Currently a guild hall can hold 1000+ items of furniture, but it is no use if filling it with the most basic furniture of the game would already cost 50k+ gold. Dont get me started about the highest quality furniture (which still looks like crap for its price).

One where you have to clear the whole raid instance in one sitting without deaths, leaving the instance/changing characters. That way you cannot wipe over and over until everything is perfect but truly have to master the raid wing first.
Sounds cool until you realize that a lag spike, disconnect, hardware or software issue, or unexpected real-life interruption would also disqualify you for a title that you only have a chance to earn once a week. There were titles like that in World of Warcraft, and they were all frustrating to obtain since the things I mentioned were the main reasons guilds failed to obtain it.
Also, from a technical point of view, what you’re suggesting would not work as well as you might think.
One where you have to clear the whole raid instance in one sitting without deaths, leaving the instance/changing characters. That way you cannot wipe over and over until everything is perfect but truly have to master the raid wing first.
Okay, let’s say for the sake of argument that The Eternal did work the way you want it to. Let’s consider what happens when one group of 10 clears the raid, but does not qualify for The Eternal that week.
- What happens when that guild re-launches the raid? Do they get another chance? Or are they disqualified?
- What happens when 1 new, different person who has not raided that week and thus has not been disqualified for The Eternal starts a raid, and 9 players who have been disqualified join it?
- Would that 1 person who has not been disqualified earn the title if they happen to meet all the qualifications for it in a new run? Or would that 1 person also not earn it due to his raid being full of people who have died on a previous run?
The only reason The Immortal and The Undying “worked” in World of Warcraft was because you could not re-launch your raid and re-clear it. Once you allow players to do this, you have many things to consider. Also, even they allowed character swapping mid-run because if someone disconnects in between a boss, there’s absolutely no reason to force the raid to underman the boss.
Ok maybe leaving the instance should be allowed (eg disconnects, crashes). But switching players or classes should not be allowed. As soon as someone switches classes or a player gets replaced the achievement should be forfeited until you start over. It adds quite a bit of challenge if people would not be allowed to switch for it. Currently I switch classes upto 3 times per raid to reach the ideal group composition for each boss, but if everyone had to pick 1 at the start it would make it a much more valuable title.
Yeah, by itself it seems fairly useless, but if it advances your guild level to the point where you can do Workshop 2, maybe it’s got some worth?
Workshop 2 costs 400 lineseed oil and 50 t7 leather amongst other stuff. Considering the previous updates I fear workshop 2 is just another waste of mats
If anyone dies in raid instance the achievement gets locked for each player for that week.
Yes, that is how I imagine it should work. But restarting the whole instance with a new opener would be a fair option if this is not possible to implement.
If spirit vale had 0 RNG i would aggre.
but i lost he count of how many times we wiped on VG in the first 5 seconds for no reason because he spawned a Green super far away, or a gorseval spirit decided to not move for no reason, or the glider did not open for no reason, or flamewall on sabetha did disapear and and appear far ahead, or i got kicked from gorseval platform by a mob, or i got kicked to the flamewall on sabetha, or i got egged middle air (this one now is fixed) etc, etc, etc, etc
That is basically no RNG but deterministic by the actions of your raid team.
Seriously? That is what that upgrade does (when it works)? And costs 50 leyline sparks among the other stuff. So not worth it.
This is what I thought. So many ectos and annoying to come by map crafting materials for basically nothing.
Just because the raid is easy for you and your raid squad, doesn’t mean that it is easy for the rest.
I am sure there are other ways to gain recognition other than a title. Take a look at the video posted for 5-man VG. Now, that’s quite a feat! But does it ask for a title just because of the challenge? Nope.
We have an ever changing squad and often include pugs. You dont need to be hardcore to get kills without deaths.
And making content artifically harder by for example doing it with just 5 people is no interest for us. There is no extra reward whatsoever so why should we put effort into that. We also do not believe in selling any extra spots.
I found a spot in Spirit Vale, right before Gorseval, where you stand in the air due to a bugged collision map. Screenshots show the exact position.
Look at the description again — it means you get 4 loots from the node instead of 3.
Does not seem to work either judging on our guild hall
