Yes, some skins are hidden unless unlocked. Not sure why not all unobtainable (or no longer obtainable) skins are that way
LS releases are biweekly! Or is it monthly? Or… yearly? I don’t know.
Yes, the world feels very much alive with the lightspeed fast living story content updates, all world bosses and meta maps on shedules etc.
matchmaking is so bad that I am even loosing games if enemies have an afk for the whole game (0 personal score). Before that match I had afkers on my team twice in a row.
Currently at 8 losses in row again. My MMR must be the lowest possible lol.
Currently I am hopeless to even reach diamond this season. I dont think someone with 2k+ tpvp wins with champion title for all classes but revenant should be stuck in emerald <.<

As far as I know no player got a destroyer scythe.
The whole gyro needs to be deleted. It is very overpowered if engineers can use two finishers at the same time
The droprate for this item seems to be very low. if it is not bugged. Spent hours tracking down skritt chests with no luck. I am quite confused why this item is not a 100% drop.
2 months seasons are definitely not long enough to balance the system. If it takes 2 weeks thats already 25% of the season wasted.
Yes, the matchmaking is truly atrocious. It will drive all the mediocre and casual players away from ranked pvp after they experienced their first long loss streak and figure out that it is no longer worth their time.
But some PvP elitists will not notice this. Guess they want an even smaller pvp population lol. My queue times already went from instant to 3min since season start, so I guess many gave up already.
1. don’t queue at night/early morning
What a stupid logic. The game runs worldwide (with some exceptions), there will always be night for someone. Plus some people can only play at night or early morning.
Oh well cant take you seriously anyway after reading your comments on other topics.
You basically reached what is called “ELO hell” in other games. MMR gets lower when you loose and your team mates depend on your MMR. Last season matchmaking was superior because the game always tried to get good matchups for your, even if it meant 50/50 winrate.
I predict a lot of people will give up on this season quickly after they experienced their loss streaks and only the hardcore pvp players will stay lol
Most people in our guild only (I am one of the 2-3 exceptions) log in for 1 or 2 raid clears and maybe fractal dailies if that is their thing. The HoT hype died down a few weeks ago and now activity feels lower than pre HoT because it did not turn out to be what people hoped for.
I find it quite funny how everyone analyzes the system and even if my opinion is, that it’s very poor as it is, nobody realizes where the matchmaking has it’s actuall flaw:
The main idea (how I understood) was to get players matched faster and allow the high ranked players from last season to advance to where they “belong”. Now the problem with this is that the guys landing in the “hell bracket” actually lose interest in playing pvp, since they don’t win any games. So the pvp player base is slowly but inevitably shrinking, resulting in higher queue times, since obviously, you have less players spread over the divisions. This IS the flaw in your system.
I really do not understand how this system actually made it to production, because:
1. If a player belongs to diamond, he will make his way up, no need to make it easy for him
2. If you wanted the high ranked players to stay where they are, plainly dont reset them all into first division. Take a look at other popular games with world wide competions.
3. Players who didnt get far in season 1, for example because they didnt play much, will now get bashed
4. All the players who abused the mmr in season 1 and reached high divisions, will now get matched with pros and carried, since mostly the enemies are bloody noobsAs for me, pvp at this time reached its lowest point all time, so I will stay away untill things will change.
This man gets it. I would not touch the current pvp at all anymore after seeing the first ~20 matches of the season if I would not need the achievement points at all cost. It is just 0 fun atm.
1) Balance is the worst in the history of GW2, worse than season 1 even
2) Matchmaking total and utter crap if you arent ESL material
It is a mystery to me how 50% of the patches/updates make the game worse instead of better. Maybe the Anet devs should play their own game more religiously. Every Anet dev should be forced to play the game at least 10 hours per week (unpaid, during the freetime) in the game mode they work on.
(edited by Malediktus.9250)
The skill should be outright banned from PvP and be replaced with something new. Even 1s of moa would be too long as long stability does not make you immune to it.
I just had a match vs two scrappers and a double moa mesmer and it was unplayable. Tons of CC and every few seconds someone of my team was a moa. Especially the necro in our team got moad mostly.
How can skills like moa and slick shoes not be nerfed yet?
If that is so; then the game seems to be essentially sacrificing me for the pleasure of the pro players.
That’s the reality of it. If it’s true that I’m deliberately set against high skilled teams. Then anet wants me ( and the majority of players ) to lose consistently so that the esl types can have a good time.
How is that fair again?
Yep, we are being sacrificed for the ESL level players. Meanwhile our MMR gets lower and lower so we get worse and worse people on our team to decrease winning chances even further. Circle of Doom.
The opposite.

stuck between t3 and 4 in emerald.
I’m not sure what you had hoped to achieve with this thread, a vast majority of players welcome the change, I’m sure you’ll get over it with time.
It is just as bad as the world boss events on shedule. I complained when it was introduced, too and I still hate it today.
The GW2 open world is becoming less and less a dynamic open world and more and more shedule. I cannot believe so many people enjoy playing after a shedule waypointing around Tyria from one thing to the next just to quickly zerg it down to reap some rewards for no effort.
(edited by Malediktus.9250)
Clearly the Dune Soarer event timing was bugged — it was only showing up randomly twice a day at most, which is nothing close to the kind of mechanics ANet aims for. I’m not sure why the OP thinks that shouldn’t be fixed, especially since it’s tied to collections.
It’s completely immaterial that this affected the supply of a couple of items tied to these events — that’s never been a good reason for maintaining the status quo, especially if collections are affected by it.
I’m more sympathetic to the idea that it removes some of the “surprises” from Dry Top. However, for all the time I spent in that zone, I never saw most of those bosses — I think the game should err on the side of making sure that events are around for most people, not just the ones that are willing to do the same events for hour after hour in the same zone.
It was not bugged. They are rare spawns. RARE. It is just that Anet devs often have no clue about their own game as a lot of precursor collections show. Otherwise they would not have made many mistakes they made with picking targets for precursor collections. Like events that were buggy since release (eg. only working once per map Ip than require a new instance to open or patch). Events that only happen if people let other events fail. Events that have long respawn times (30min+) but can be soloed by anyone coming by in 30 seconds or less. I know what I am talking about, I already have 58 of 72 precursor collections done.
And if you never saw a rare spawn you basically missed nothing of importance. They are just champions of other existing creatures with an unique name, no special combat mechanics, no special visuals, just two unique bonus items on the droptable you can loot with about 1/3rd chance of them. Just some spice to the map.
And even the 6h respawn window is nothing compared to oldschool MMOs. I remember rare spawns with 1 week+ respawn times there. People are so impatient and entitled nowadays, it is disgusting.

I dont have any of them stockpiled. I always sold them as soon as I got them. But now drytop is 80% less interesting to me, just another farm map on shedule like all the HoT maps.
The point was never to spawn camp for them. The loot was not good enough for it, just some extra suprise loot and geodes when you came accross one. It is pure Anet’s fault to require one of them for a precursor collection. And now they ruin this rare boss mechanic instead of changing the requirement for their stupid trident collection.Your gold well has dried up. Time to move on.
Did you even bother reading? It added maybe 1g per hour to your Drytop loot on average if you were religiously looking out for them. Calling that a gold well is stupid. All Anet did was destroying a nice suprise mechanic for this map for no good reason.
Blame Anet for the lack of foresight to even make this a requirement for the collection. There would have been plenty of alternatives like the Champion Windrider in Southsun Cove. The rare spawns existed well before this stupid trident collection anyway, so I see 0 valid reasons to change it now.
The problem with moving it off to some other mob is that the description of it in the Legendary collection is tied to the Dune Soarer. Now, I expect that you’ll just wave that off as a negligible problem, but the fact that they mentioned it specifically as a problem indicates that it was not something easily solvable and that changing the timers turned out to be a better fix than rewriting the collection.
Here it shows where he is discussing the options, a rewrite or a change in the timers.
So, I would like to let you all know that we’ve been looking a lot at Dune Soarer. With the first reports I thought it may have been bugged, or on a big variable spawn time, but it wasn’t, it was just a very long respawn (cough 6 hours cough). I can’t just change the respawn time on it as it is tied to a lot of other content that I would uncomfortable risking breaking. What we are doing, is using this as an example for “best practices” for future tie-ins, and won’t be using it, or events like it for legendary collectibles in the future. Additionally, we’ve been working on figuring out some alternate sources for this particular collectible. The issue with that is that the theme of the item is very specifically tied to the Dune Soarer, so it may require a re-write of the item.
Apologies for the quick “everything’s fine” response. I just got excited that it wasn’t a bugged event when I looked into it.
Later as he continued to work on it he shows that he decided to go for changing the timing rather than the rewrite, even though the timers had problems.
ANet mattp
Oh, yes, I do have an update. Turns out I was a bit off. The spawn conditions were some random time in a 6 hour window every 12 hours. Good news though, there are some changes coming to that… SOON!
The name of the item is just a string in the localisation database. Probably takes 1min to change. Just like they could have moved the dune soarer tentacle to another lootable. Probably also very low amount of work considering they can change droptables without doing patches.
If changing the whole mechanics of this rare mob spawns was less effort than changing this dune soarer tentacle item, than the game is indeed very purely programmed. Like below intern level of programming.

If you were really running Dry Top regularly it was already boring by that definition, since 99% of the time you knew exactly what happened when. So what gives.
There are several areas of Dry Top with their own event cycles. Of course with shedules, but rares were a nice suprise always. Also if you do the events too slow they skip respawn timers and your map wont reach t6. Rares also added to the map tier. But since it is just 1 fixed spawn for sandstorm, you can no longer kill a rare or two to boost your map tier.

What they really need to change is class changing MID GAME. Had a player on enemy team start as warrior then mid game swap to revenant, and then the last 30 secs when it was clear they won swapped back to warrior
This is NOT ok, can esl teams change comp mid game? No they cant, so i shouldnt be subject to such bullkitten in RANKED matches. The individual player who switches takes a hit but that doesnt matter if you just double or triple que and just alternate swappers
I thought swapping mid game gives dishonor?
Did you try the mushrooms in HoT maps? I get 4 or 5 all the time from them.
People call everything a grind nowadays. It is pathetic.
That is an interesting suggestion. Who else would you like to see as returning heroes in stronghold?
Non humanoid champions. Glint maybe?
My current experience in emerald tier 3
The only thing concerning is that there are people who can afford buying 2 million
The droprate is very high. On average I get more than 1 per mushroom.

It is much harder than last season. Without premades you loose all the time.
Guild hymns are missing for sure. It feels Anet cut a lot of content for the rushed HoT release
Well you havent spent “much time” in Drytop if you havent seen them all yet. Or you stay (for some reason) away from any possible rare spawn locations. There was rarely less than one spawn per hour, sometimes 5 when very lucky. 2 was pretty common.
Anyway it is just another boring zerg event now now. I am sure dulfy will add them to the world event timer now.
(edited by Malediktus.9250)
So your economic scheme comes to an end. Viva E Pubricus!
Economic sheme? It was not even good gold per hour, just was just some nice extra every now and then when farming geodes. They were not even guaranteed to drop. Now the miniature dropped from roughly 3g to 80s and the tonic from 1,2g to 25s in just two days because anyone can farm it without any effort.
Now only if they could do this to the Legendaries in The Silverwaste.
Good idea. 100% of the game should be running on a shedule and be 100% predictable, that will surely make the game more interesting and fun.
Yah, all the people who were waiting for a particular mob to spawn somewhere on the map within a 6 hour window every 12 hours in order to move forward on the Legendary collection feel your pain OP.
Or maybe they don’t.

Agree fully. I’m 2020/2500 for sweet tooth. Then a familie member got serious sick, So i’ve dropped my plans for that day and visited the person in hospital. I was home at a time sometimes the patch still has to hit (often it is up already though). I had bad luck, it was up. And I though that like alcohol, sweeth tooth would remain accessable. But it wasnt.
Primordial legend is a double mistake. Firstly, you are supposed to get 3 ap, for getting ruby (5 if you complete the title). I am ruby and have 0 ap. Knowing how lazy Anet is in regards to AP, i will NEVER see that 3 ap. What’s more, the people who got legendary in first season are very lucky. Anet communicated mostly ‘this yeazr there will be this wings, next year diff’. No word about the ap. So i assumed it’s a year too. Nope!
So Anet owes me at least 3 ap points (primordial legend should be 3/5 not 0/5 since i’m ruby first season), the wintersday title. And perhaps a big sorry for letting me loose perma opportunity to get primordial title without warning.
But my hopes are low. All marketing now, they don’t focus on their veterans anymore, and how they feel about being treathed (Farming a high achievement count is pretty much endgame content, veteran content, ignoring that = ignoring veterans imo, and they’ve been doing this for ages).
Primordial Legend was changed to give flat out 6 AP at legendary divsion when they fixed it. They removed all sub tiers so ruby = 0.
I just wanted to thank you for ruining rare spawns in Dry Top. Just for this one stupid collection item you ruined the interesting rare spawns? Why did you not just change it to the Champion Windrider in Southsun instead?
What got ruined?
1) Element of suprise when finding such a rare spawn. Before you never knew when, where and which rare spawns. On lucky runs you could have 3-5 rares. Now just one, always at the same time and predetermined rare.
2) The value of the monkey tonic and miniature is crashing like no tomorrow because now everyone can farm them with a simple timetable and it is getting broadcasted on map (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Slay_the_rare_creature)
In conclusion I think this patch was really fail.
Not play? I have over 43k deaths on my main character.
While you are at it, please also remove Moa from engineers. Moa is the most pathetic and disgusting skill in this game.
I really dont care if it can compete on ESL level. For the every day matches in ranked pvp it is more than good enough.
It is even worse in ranked because of no coordination and failure to take advantage of portal and moa.
It is only good against bads who random dodges all day long and eat full shatters.
You can play vs coordinated groups if you soloQ. You can be put in the team of a 4man guild group and face another coordinate group. Happened several times to me so far this season

Lol! Mesmers are still great. Great team support with portals, moa and cc.
For example this build seems to be pretty common and doing well:

So when will this double moa mesmer madness nerfed? 1 Moa is already too OP enough and can be a game changer. But two moas in a half decent mesmer hand is way too OP.
If you can’t beat a Mesmer in the current meta you should quit. Double moa or no.
Are you playing mesmer?

I think most people play for fun and not for #eSports. So why should they accept days of getting crushed so some arbitrary system starts to work?
You could say all the bad and mediocre players should not play the first 1-2 weeks, but then the “racers” as you call them cant speed through. Not to mention people will loose MMR if they get farmed by those “racers” and get worse and worse people in their team. The whole system is a bad joke, I would even consider it a doom-loop for soloQ players. You loose because of average players on your team to “racers”, your MMR drops. You get worse people on your team. You start loosing to teams you normally would win against. Your MMR keeps dropping. The ocassional win here and there wont outweight the 75-85% loss rate you get in this terribad system. There is no rating/ranking system on this planet that does not start with some volatility.
I am sorry that this is happening to players but a system simply cannot predict your skill level without some information.
It is an unfortunate byproduct. All I can say is give it some time and do not lose hope.
Treat it like a shooter game, sometimes you get a kill and other times you get spawn camped.
It can use information from previous games. I have a few thousand games played. I dont get why it should not take them into account more.
The raids are too easy. They are barely the difficulty I would have expected from fractals 100 or from dungeons at release.

Is it intentional that when the gerent dies before all 3 phases to lose the achievement or a bug?
Right now, the meta is being perfected and a lot of lanes are able to kill the Gerent by the second phase. Why should players be denied an achievement by killing it early? Is that not the whole point of it?
Because defense events can fail, especially nuhoch. You should not be rewarded by skipping defense events.
They get the win ones on skyhammer then afk a game in ranked?
They did not make it a win, because winning is not guaranteed. They want dailies to be quick and easy.
Thats why they shouldnt have changed the dailies at all. Skyhammer servers kept the worst players out of unranked/ranked games.
I am sure my MMR is below average now after all the loss streaks because the players in my team are getting progressively worse
