Initially I wasn’t thrilled about the idea of another festival, but our team took that as a challenge to implement a festival that plays much differently than the others. I think we accomplished that.

@ wookiee I would think they’d have them partially created but then again they haven’t made a release date for the fractal so they may have not even started. The ultimate troll wold be to tie the two candidates at the polls that would take a lot of coordination though

@ dargosian If they did do that it would make things a bit interesting, and actually feel more permanent. It would also set a standard for future events similar in nature.

Yeah no more events until October would be good, that would be at least two months, considering this one is already underway. I’m sure they are working on a Halloween event already but if that’s all they focused on it for two months it’d be pretty good by the time it was ready for release.

Here’s hoping that when school starts back after summer break they cut down on the events.

You may or may not know, but we actually get three: Molten Facility from Flame & Frost, Aetherblade Retreat from Sky Pirates, and the one we pick from Cutthroat Politics. They’ll all be released at the same time. Unless by “new”, you meant “stylistically new”?

Yeah I heard we were getting those but I omitted them from my previous post, so as to stay on point. I do want to revisit the molten facility.

My question is what will they do with the fractal that doesn’t get chosen from Cutthroat surely that won’t go to waste.

After poking around more, I’m hearing about something coming from the sky. One of the devs hinted: “Look to the skies”. Maybe they were simply referring to the Balloons? Maybe the Aetherblades return? If this event was sort of like DB with part of it being a festival and the other half having an actual threat, I’d be okay with that as long as the next update was not a festival release. Guess we’ll see.

Would that mean that the Aetherblades will be nothing more than festival crashing louts in fancy garments wielding awkwardly constructed swords whom appear once a month perhaps every other with the soul purpose of closing out the current bi-weekly event? Some pirates …

I hate to get on the negative train but I am getting tired of mini game after mini game update. A new zone would be awesome. The features listed sound great and do have me excited, but the promise of more mini games does not.

I agree, but I don’t even think the features are all that interesting. Also, I already said it in this thread (on page 1) but no zones are likely to be added the entire rest of the year. Maybe it’s time for me to take a break from this game. meh. :/

I already mentioned this in another thread but yeah they need to tone this down. They want to add new content? Great! Tool around with existing dungeons or add new ones or new fractals ( I know we get one with Cutthroat that’s good) . New zones would also be nice as well. I wouldn’t mind waiting a month or three while they cook up some great new LASTING content.

I’m a quality over quantity kind of a guy and am always willing to pay a little more or wait a little longer for something really nice, it pays off.

I agree with OP, no more festivals, events what ever you want to call them (for a while). Every two weeks is oversaturation, all that hard work is starting to go largely ignored by my circle of GW friends. It’s leading to our being burned out faster. I would actually like to participate in some of the events but why bother they are gone in two weeks or a month tops? Many of us have jobs as well, so we have to pick and choose what we can do. This mini game dump/achievement grab in two week intervals may seem fun at first but it will be come very run-of-the-mill in time. I don’t want festivals and events to go away but the current frequency is ridiculous.

The only thing that is good about these 2 week intervals is that they usually make some kind of improvement to the game, such as the upcoming Account Wallet. For instance I ignored the new content and skipped strait to the new features with this one.

I understand that some players like new content bi-weekly because otherwise the game gets boring, but if that’s really happening it’s time to take a break from GW2. Players shouldn’t be persuading themselves into playing a game. They should want to play it, it’s play, not work. They have Wv3, SPvP, and PvE that is plenty to do. If you don’t like one of those modes of play then you aren’t getting the most out of your money.

I like festivals, events and what have you as well because it does break up the flow of the game with new gear and mini games, but not to the point that it’s what GW2 is about, the next event. Then it becomes monotony and you may find yourself bored all over again.

I’ve done extensive play with my Guard in PVE and i am now transitioning to wvw. I never really liked Meditations until i started playing wvw, I honestly couldn’t figure out what the point of them was in PVE.

Long story short I think shouts and AH are stronger in PVE, dungeons fractals etc and meditations are more effective against human opponents.

Here’s why. Shouts buff you and your allies and AH is more effective if you have allies to buff that just yourself. Because that’s where all the healing comes from. Shout buffing and condi removal really shine in parties or in groups. Condi removal with shouts can only be done with soldier runes or PoV. Now you can use both and remove two conditions per shout if you do that then its worth while to consider a shout build for WVW. Removing two conditions per shout and buffing yourself would require 30 in Honor so you’d have some defensive options. But for me stacking buffs seems less effective in WVW because while you’re powering up someone can take you out or get away. Also if you’re alone or with only a few players you won’t get the most mileage out of AH.

If you’re tired of seeing players run away from you and you notice that shouts aren’t cutting it in the condition removal department its time to go with meditations. Contemplation of Purity removes all conditions and turns them into boons on you. Its also a stun breaker, which means its a powerful skill for turning the tables in your favor if used properly. The reason why CoP isn’t that great in PVE is because you don’t get hit with as many condi especially debilitating condi like you do in WVW. It really shines when fighting human opponents. The same with Judges Intervention another stun breaker i might add. In PVE mods just stand there so at best its a 36sec Burn. But against a person you can get the drop on them and if your timing is good lock them down with Ring of Warding on your hammer or TP right on top of an unsuspecting victim and tear into them with your favorite skill such as Whirling Wrath or Cleansing Flame. As for those that wish to run its a 1200 range TP so you have a good chance of catching them, doubly true if you use a Scepter, GS, Hammer, or Sword. Scepter can immobilize and pelt their backside, GS has a pull and a leap, Hammer also has a leap and Ring of Warding, and the Sword has an extra teleport, coupled with the torch and its BBQ on the run. This is all from using JI to close the gap.

Unfortunately the other two meditations aren’t so great, Smite Condition doesn’t break stun if it did it would be OP so it’s mediocre at best, and Merciful Intervention is just bad, I can back this up by saying i’ve yet to see positive comments about this skill anywhere on the forum. Go ahead and try it out if you don’t believe me. It sounds great but it has no target priority and in the chaotic wvw battles you have no idea where you will end up. Also if you’re solo who can you heal anyway?

So what do you do with your 3rd slot? Make it your flex utility, i usually substitute with WoR or a shout such as SYG because stability is so useful in wvw. You can pair Save yourselves with CoP as well.

This is what i have found so far from giving guardian an honest try in WVW for about 3 weeks.

Thanks for pointing that out, now I know what not to spend money on. Also i’m going to start selling my coffers seems like you come out ahead that way.

This business model has been in place since the Wintersday events. The frequency in which they occur has shortened significantly. If every new month means some grindy event that has nothing to really do with the RPG world like they claim it does and your rewards are gaudy back items and fugly weapon skins this is going to get old fast.

I’ve seen some of the weapon and armor skins for an upcoming set that looks like an attempt at steampunk -rolls eyes- if its more crate/coffer… box grinding then I fear that GW2 is going to become a series of monthly money grabs that are poorly disguised as boring events… No Thank You. You want my money? Then give me full blown expansion I’ll gladly fork it over for a trip to Cantha.

This whole process is starting to remind me of Pangya if anyone is familiar with that game.

Now if they made some sort new dungeon where you could earn these new sets of armor and weapons that would be awesome the 1 hand sword and the pistol look great but I’m not grinding for chance boxes and I sure as heck will not pay for slightly better chance boxes.

I wasn’t “Using your comments to complain”. Yes, it was a bug, and indeed bugs should be fixed ASAP.

Still as I’ve said. why don’t they say something? If it has reached their ears, they should say something to shut people (like me) up. Literally, all it would take is “This design is intentional, It will not be changed” And boom!

Honestly, no one can argue with that.

Let’s review you took my comment, quoted it then proceeded to complain about how Anet fixes something you didn’t know about instead adjusting the scepter’s auto attack which is something you think everyone should be aware of. You used my comment as a launching pad to gripe about the scepter which was mentioned nowhere in this topic until you brought it up. So yes you did used my comment simply saying you didn’t does not undo that what was done.

The developers are in these forums, they post somewhere almost daily. So yes they have seen the many scepter complaint threads and all the suggestions players have mentioned about how to fix the scepter. They don’t have to come and personally answer this every time someone brings it up or post something saying the scepter is working as intended because people don’t read and will continue to complain anyway.

Several months ago the Guardian Greatsword was adjusted and this drew heavy criticism because the key binding for the GS was altered and one of the skills cool down was increased. People threatened to not only reroll but to stop playing GW2 all together because one weapon on one class was changed. Apparently this ruined some builds. The developers never said one word and after about two months the GS complaint threads disappeared.

The point of this story is that Anet (or any developer) does not need to explain their decisions to either adjust or leave a feature as it. If they took the time to answer every complaint nothing would get done and the majority of the answers would be ones that people wouldn’t want to hear anyway. If they posted a notice saying the scepter is working as intended where would they post that, the forum? They’d have to sticky it or else it would get buried and someone else would come along and it would start all over. Then they’d have to do that for the next complaint and the next and so on. Furthermore people would still see the forums and the wiki entries and still complain. Instead of looking at themselves and how they play. In this case giving one simple thought about how the Guardian is played, maybe range isn’t the Guard’s strong point maybe they are supposed to melee.

Wow, so obviously something not very many people even knew about gets fixed, and Scepter’s auto attack, the one thing that surely every Guardian player knows about, including some people who didn’t even play a Guardian, get’s ignored!!!!

Please Anet! If, (just IF) this is really an intentional design, JUST LET US FRIGGING KNOW!!

For the record I don’t have a problem with the scepter, I understand how the Guardian class is supposed to work. Please do not use my comments to complain about something you do not like. Gamers have been complaining about the guardian scepter since forever. I am pretty sure this has reached the developers ears months ago.

what happened with Hold the Line was a bug; it wasn’t supposed to happen and they fixed it. Anet didn’t have to say anything about it, but hey they admitted they made a mistake which is great.

I have a female Norn Guardian and a male Norn Warrior. They also have different hair and eye color and i chose completely different tattoo designs and colors. I made both of these chars max height 3rdly i have a female Norn thief, this character is almost as short as you can make a Norn so they look more like a tall Human, again gave her different hair and eye color and different tattoo design and color.

I think there is plenty of detail to play around with when making a character, they all have different hair styles as well my Guard has longer blonde hair and my thief has shorter black hair, and for good measure i gave my War a beard because beards are awesome. The Guard and the War have different sets of heavy armor. I am going for a barbarian look for my warrior and a more plated armor look for my guardian.

Because they are a sort of blending between Viking/Scandinavian and Native Americans with their appearances and culture this makes them my favorite race by far.

yeh… because anet obviously’accidentally’ put those portals in, so players can ‘exploit’ the archers and melee them

… its not a bug; most classes (if not all; but i havent tried) can get in through the bubble
the rest can just use the portals.

My opening statement was to suggest that by no means should players be able to melee those archers. As in you have to come up with a way to deal with archers that you can’t get to because they are behind a forcefield. That’s what I would like to see anyway; it goes with my statement saying that dungeons need little annoyances like this to get people think a little. In this case projectile reflection and retaliation might just be all you need.

However players can get into the bubbles through various means its not an exploit, so bash away, its not hard to deal with even if you can’t spawn illusions. Know how to work with the tools your Profession comes with.

New AC is not hard.

Pretty much have come to accept that based upon the frequency and intensity of the commentary lately, it’s the rare minority of players that would rather spend the time to raise their play to meet the content rather then have the content lowered to their comfort level. No level of arguement on my part is gonna change this.

Kudos to those silent, and minority of vocal players, that do the opposite and take some pride and enjoyment from attempting the challeges offered (even if they fail) – best of luck to them.

AC Path1 Burrows Question - Guardian

Stand your ground is a must that’s already been mentioned I’d also suggest Concentrated Ground for this task, after the update because of all the knock down potential these little kittens are now capable of.

I use a very similar strategy to NyhilistTheBoring.2674. I stand in the same spot they refer to. The weapons I use are Hammer and GS for this fight because of the crowd control and circular AOE they offer. Ring of warding on the hammer will help you to contain and block them off from Hodge. Binding Blade can pull some of them them away from hodge too.

I also use Hold the Line, being able to throw protection and heal Hodge is useful your virtues will also help with this.

Lastly kindly ask your group not to pull the agro to you by running behind you and hodge when they are crossing from one side of the room to the other. If you are pugging they may not know about this.

If they can hit the burrows hard and fast you won’t have to defend Hodge for long. I regularly defend hodge while my other 3 party members assault the burrows, we usually run AC path1 when we only have 4 players available.

I think the design failure here, if any, is that people are getting inside the bubble protecting the archers. I do it too though. I put a block up with my Guard then Flashing Blade and bam i’m in, its a free beat down. I laugh while the rest of my crew deals with being on the other side of the bubble. I suppose I could put a Wall of Reflection up right in front of the archer.

Dungeons need more little annoyances like this to make people try something different. There’s a reason why each profession has a variety of weapon and utility skills.

I haven’t run this path with my Mes yet but when I do i’m not going to let a little thing like not being able to summon illusions in a bubble slow me down. Feedback would be the first thing I’d throw out, I’d try Chaos Storm, and if it took too long I’d portal my party into the bubble.

New AC is not hard.

I like the new AC but for players who are new to GW2 and just reached lvl 35 I don’t recommend it. Yes I agree that is doable at lvl 35 if you know what you are doing.

I think they need a baby dungeon with mediocre gear/rewards that the new players can play in until they get their strategies figured out. Which would be everything from how to put a character together to how to use that character properly in combat. When you’re in PVE its very easy to have your hand held by other players and not learn anything. You can be in a downed state and any player can come by to your rescue which is nice but then you get back up and start attacking again with no real concept of defeat to learn from. The first path in this dungeon should be slightly painful but doable to first timers with no guidance from experienced players. They can throw in some popup hints and tutorials if they like. Path 2 gets a little harder and path 3 could be considered an easy path in other dungeons.

I am aware of the smaller PVE dungeons that are hidden throughout the game such as the ones in Diessa and Dredgehaunt. Those are fun btw, but easy. What I am describing is one were you have to form a party and start an instance with 3 paths to take. The general consensus should be that you shouldn’t try another dungeon until you have mastered all 3 paths of this learner dungeon.

I want my dungeons to be challenging and maybe even intimidating (because they are so elite and hardcore lulz) but with practice, doable with a sense of accomplishment. I had to use training wheels before i learned how to ride a bike now I can drive a car and other people get to fly supersonic planes, you have to start somewhere.

If you don’t understand why Guards have low HP and you die a lot because of this then you’re not really playing the Guardian correctly.

If you love a mountain of HP and this some how gives you a sense of security then go play a Warrior.

I actually like both but there is a reason why they are 2 different professions.

The bug listing at the bottom pretty much sums it up. It does look like its working with soldier’s runes because they each remove a condition. If you used say Retreat while using Pure of Voice and the Sup Runes of the Soldier you’d actually remove a total of 2 condis one of them would be converted into a boon.

Agreed, but all I have are a bunch of pesetas left over from RE4 you’re welcome to them.

Also Ele is the only class that can dual wield daggers other than Theif
Necros can use Axes
So yeah give Mes exclusive scholar access to sword since they don’t get to use daggers but the other scholars do.

It’s just aesthetics and variety. Eles are GW traditional mage type so staves wands and daggers all the way.

I think it’s cool that necros have access to Axes to brain the occasional misbehaving minion.

Mes are the duelist of the scholar group so swords it is.

what ever server maintenance was done the day before yesterday completely fixed it for me again. No lagging what so ever during the last two nights i’ve played. Now I have patch anxiety because I know the next update to come out will totally lag the crap out of my game again.

i have experienced that before too, game runs great the day before patch, now lagged to death after. then the next patch comes out and all is running smoothly again. its in some kind of cycle.

Guild wars is disconnecting my internet?

I had this problem too, about two days ago. I reside in the US, Alabama.

I rebooted everything and that didn’t help then I switched ports on my router and it stopped, I thought the port was flaking out.

I have also noticed that my internet connection seems fine then when I run GW2 it my ping time goes up and sometimes i get request timed out this is when i’m pinging a neutral site such as google.com. If i stop running GW and leave the ping command running the connection will return to normal a little while later. Basically it takes an average of 23ms to ping google.com. Then i start GW and lag spikes begin. I get ping returns of 3000 plus ms or just request time out every 2 – 5 seconds.

I stop GW and after a while I go back pinging 19 to 23ms again.

Tired of Lag Wars, I want to play Guild Wars again.

Lagging again started for me when I began playing at 8:00PM CDT on Tuesday 04/12/13, lagged last night too. Same stuff, 2-5 delays in skill activation. Character animations sometimes speed up or slow down. never had a problem like this with any other online games i play.

As a side note up until Tuesday the game ran with negligible errors for about a week thought this was fixed.

I am experiencing skill activation lag in combat, chat lag in combat, looting lag after combat, and players and mobs hyper moving around during combat when it gets really bad as well. Sometimes the skill I pressed will flash as if it is waiting to activate then 2-5 sec later it will finally goes off. Or my character will idly stand there after I pressed an attack skill to initiate combat. This only happens during combat outside of it when I am walking in LA or just on any map not engaged in battle i have no problems.

This happens literally after every other patch that comes out. It usually happens when it’s a minor patch. I had this problem up until the big patch on 01/28 the game ran great after the patch, then another minor patch yesterday 01/29 and bam back to laggyness.

This has been going on for almost two months now, i think it started happening in mid November.

I would really like to see this fixed once and for all I feel like I have patch dread now.
I see that others are experiencing the same symptoms and it makes me think its not anything related to my system or my ISP. It really seems to be patch related to me because after some patches (usually the major ones) my game will run smoothly until another patch is implemented.

I have this problem after every other patch literally. It doesn’t make sense one patch my game will run fine the next I get terrible skill delay at random in combat. I’ll get a 3-5 sec delay on skill activation and dodges. Sometimes it affects chat. If its really bad players and enemies will hyper move for a second.

I was so happy that they finally patched the game yesterday, because prior to that I had put up with this crap for over two weeks because of some minor patch having to do with mesmer’s profession mechanic . My game ran great yesterday but wouldn’t you know it they patched again today and I’m back to these terrible delays.

I have been pretty patient with it but this is getting old.
Why does this happen with every other update? Please patch again and soon.

This is not one of those I hate dungeons they are too hard/boring threads. There are plenty of those.

This is a thread about making an optional hard mode with greater rewards/loot.

I never said they were too hard. I think the dungeons are too easy. What I meant is that the devs should worry about making the dungeons more interesting and team-oriented first, before they worry about making a hardmode. The current dungeons are not worthy of a hardmode.

Ok that was misunderstanding on my part, I apologize for that. Anything that improves team work and party diversity I am also in favor of. It seems these days that some groups will only accept you into their party if you’re playing a profession they approve of. But that’s another topic.

I am curious though, what kind of changes would you suggest would improve the dungeon experience prior to implementing a nightmare/hard mode?

Bosses are too OP? What exactly is a boss supposed to be if not an OP mobling with a gimmick of some sort?

Granted you have some boss fights that are not a beefed up mob but a task that you have to complete such as CoF path 2’s end boss fight.

This is not one of those I hate dungeons they are too hard/boring threads. There are plenty of those.

This is a thread about making an optional hard mode with greater rewards/loot.

I remember hard mode in GW1, i don’t think you could do it in PVE since it’s so open, but you could do it any closed instance such as Personal Story Missions, Dungeons, and Fractals. I think starting with Dungeons would be a good experiment. They could do it with the first two Dungeons, AC and CM if it goes well incorporate it into the remaining dungeons.

No I think the tokens should not get scaled down at all, you did the work and killed the bosses required to get to the end of the dungeon. In other words you ran it; token rewards shouldn’t be altered for for how you complete the dungeon. I think you should be eligible to get more monetary rewards or have a higher chance to get some rare loot for taking the time to kill more (or all) mobs. Speeding through the dungeon should net you the same amount of tokens regardless.

I like the idea of the more mobs you kill the better loot tables you get, that leaves it optional in both respects. You can do a quick run or tokens or kill everything in the dungeon for max rewards. That leaves the players with the option of balancing things out.

Forming/joining no skip guilds and friending like minded players is your best bet

I find a little common courtesy goes a long way to solving this problem.

If people want to skip that’s fine, but if you’re in a party and the other 4 players are not skipping certain fights you are not helping your group at all when you run ahead by yourself and stand there, and if you happen to die from it then lols on you. Also trying get the other players to stop what they are doing and move ahead because you want to skip a boss or a pack of mobs will probably get you considered for a party kick. If of course you engage in such behavior.

I find that skipping certain mobs can come back to bite your butt if you happen to die in the next area and have to run through there again. Or better yet when players wind up pulling the mobs into the next area and wind up fighting them anyway. I have seen plenty of skippings go really wrong. Skipping isn’t always faster or more efficient than a good clean quick kill.

I do agree though at this point people who are advertising for dungeons should make it clear what their intentions are. In whisper chat before a party is formed at the very least. Also if you join a group of players the first thing you should ask after a greeting the party is what kind of run they want to do, quick or not. It’s just courtesy, you should never assume that people like to play the same way you do. This will save both you and them time if your plans don’t match up.

If you’re already in the dungeon and you’re not sure then ask, “are we running this part or killing”? It’s a social game with party chat just ask and roll with it even if you don’t like the majority answer. It’s one dungeon run and after its over you can leave the party and never play with them again if you choose to do so.

Find like minded individuals in your dungeon runs tell them they play well, friend them and invite them to join you in future runs. I bet there’s even guilds out there that specialize in quick dungeon runs or their opposite as well.

Kohler and Wall of Reflection

Kahrgan is right, not everything can be reflected, but when it works it’s great. Lots of fun in CM.

It does not reflect the Nightmare vine’s projectiles in TA for example. I learned that the hard way.

As for Kohler I never tried WoR on him. I always used Stand Your Ground with great success. Using this skill will keep your party from getting pulled in and you don’ t have to worry about Wall placement.

I enjoyed the personal story up until Claw island was retaken. The beginning cultural story arcs were great, the Order arcs that came after were also not bad. I liked both Tybolt and Frogal I haven’t played the Priory’s story arcs yet. The doomed order mentors are great and have a lot of personality in a short amount of time, I haven’t completed the PS yet but I assume they are gone for good. At least let me end their suffering by killing zombie versions of them for some excellent character wrenching story closure. Is that too much to ask? Maybe that happens but anyway moving on…

Trahearne comes in and slowly the personal story slides out from under your character’s feet as it seems to be more about him rather than the player’s character. If you didn’t notice it before the icing on the cake comes when he receives the tree sword from the mama plant, her name escapes me atm. It’s funny to me now I remember upon first seeing Trahearne thinking about how I hadn’t had a Sylvari side kick yet.

How is it that this is my character’s personal story and my character is supposed to be the hero when they do not get the fancy (yet goofy looking) sword? Not that I wanted it anyway that’s not the point. This is the equivalent of Sir Glahad being called the main hero. Sure he finds the Grail but who is given Excalibur? It’s the Legend of King Aurthur not Glahad. It’s the same story retold, the passing of the mysterious weapon to the to the soon to be unifier.

The thing is if you step back and look at the Personal Story for GW2 it’s really a story about Trahearne and not the player’s character at all. The story could have easily started at the point before Trahearne is tasked to retake Claw island and carry on from there. I can see that and I’ve not even finished the story yet. The character you created isn’t needed at all and could have been filled in by one of the Order mentors had they not heroically sacrificed themselves or any other random person or no one at all it could have all been Trahearne.

That’s the problem the main story of GW2 isn’t written for a generic character in mind it was written for Trahearne, and you just happen to tag along.

I really liked the opening story ideas and it did feel like a personal story as your character gained renown in their home town and then advanced through the ranks and earned respect within their chosen order, but just as your character was starting to come into their spot light on a grander world stage it’s snagged away by some guy you never seen before unless maybe you’re a Sylvari? It’s kind of annoying and at times discourages me from playing my personal story. Now rather than finishing up for the story’s sake I’m in it or the unique loot.

Fortunately this is just GW2, hopefully the expansions will involve your hero more thoughtfully and also Destiny’s Edge, they seem important after all. I expected that your chosen hero would be inducted into Destiny’s Edge since they seem to have lost a member anyway. This is what I gathered that Snaff was. If Trahearne replaces Snaff, then grr just argh ack and bleh. I don’t want to work my butt of to make him look good.

I have a lvl 65 Eng, tried the basics of this build out and really enjoy using it. It breathed new life into my Eng game play I think I’ll stick with it and see how it plays when I’m lvl 80.

This is strictly PVE for me though, i haven’t tried Mes in WvW yet (lvling to 80 atm) my weapon sets and traits will probably change a bit. Also I use a staff as my main weapon sword/pistol are secondary.

The torch is horrible

Torch skill 4 does not actually burn you (you don’t take damage) so why would Inner Fire give you fury? You basically get magical fire for a few seconds that you can inflict burning with to nearby foes. I usually double tap torch 4 for the projectile it has great range and decent damage. You can activate the skill wait about 2 seconds to inflict burning then launch it as well. Over all it’s a good skill

Torch 5 is just great in everything it does, good mobile AOE cone of damage and condition removal. From what I have seen it doesn’t remove conditions on the caster which I am ok with. The only changes I would like to see for the torch is that torch 5 actually inflicts burning on the last tick of damage. All that fire and no burning, really?

I often pair the torch with the sword and get great results (works well with scepter also) to say it’s the worst offhand is simply a matter of opinion.

I understand that this is a world wide game, and that my day by comparison is meaningless. If I was in a different time zone and they ran the update at 3AM local time I’d be snoozing without a care.

But keep in mind that Anet is based in North America they are headquartered in Washington State they are actually catering to the West Coast time zone as they probably should since that’s where they are based.

I hadn’t accounted for data mining but there has got to be a better way, some kind of file encryption they can can run.

Perhaps some kind of staggering update system so everyone that was online isn’t updating all at once

This is annoying, a huge update in the evening right after I get off work you had one thing to do and you all day to do it. Presently everyone and their brother’s, cousin’s grandma is trying to download this all at once. From the looks of it it’s a fairly big file.

Why? Why?? Why??? can’t you launch this earlier in the day? Actually it should be days ahead of the huge event you’re about to host. Then at the pointed hour kick everyone off and have them download a tiny file that completes the update.

Then I won’t have to sit here and look at this.

Getting into the guardian groove

All I can say is I played a Guardian first and I didn’t know how easy I had it. It is still my favorite profession over all granted I really haven’t tried Ele and War, but I will. I was completely spoiled on how well they heal compared to other classes. Maybe playing a Guardian isn’t OP’s style?

I can solo quite easily on my Guardian but I also have fun helping out my team. I think Guardian’s are one of the most diverse professions the one thing they are a little lackluster in is ranged combat, but hey you can’t and shouldn’t be good at everything.

Seeing as how OP played a Ranger first this may explain why they do not like like how a Guardian plays. My suggestion is to stick with it from my experience of trying out different ones is that no profession really begins to shine until you hit at least lvl 20.

Yeah I want to try a shatter build too and trait for confusion at the same time. This is what I would like to try vs human opponents but right now i’ve not hit lvl 50 yet so i am working with what I have available.

I hadn’t considered that mobs may only get hit by confusion once before it wears off which wouldn’t be all that great.
