You should run berserkers or get out. That’s the consensus.

Untrue. Only elitists call all non-zerker sets selfish. There are many viable builds that use, nae require, non-zerker sets. Only MF sets are truly useless and selfish as they are the only stat that does not affect your utility in combat at all.

All those sets are still strictly worse than zerger sets though. Also, you should never use mf set in a dungeon anyway: you don’t farm in dungeons.

most of you guys just should go back to fractals.
there you can win,
because this npcs are brainless as most of you rank 1000+ guys running around without any tactic or skill.
if spirit rangers win you, then it was just a better player or you was to stupid to kill his spirits first.

so spam on pve forum and leave pvp again.

im a rly nooby spirit ranger, because i can lose vs necros, engins, cc warrios, s/d thiefs and after long fight sometims vs a good ele.
but i also stay rank 70 just because unbalanced imba spirit ranger.
we spirit ranger noobs dont need to know enemy attack animations and attack skills.

next time when i lose some profession i also make a new hate topic instead start training how to beat it, good idea.

i rly will enjoy the next balance patch and the meta change,
because like always, we will have much much new crying.
its the same procedure as every month.
we will have some new topics about the bad meta again.

im just wondering why so much ppls stay on this game when every meta is so bad and unbalanced.

Those sound closer to the traditional Tank and Healer, sorry. Support is things like AoE Aegis and Time Warp, control is things like Banish and Head Shot. If you want them to be brought into usefulness, you need enemies to be able to pressure parties so that they can’t go full zerker and expect to win, and you need to severely tone down defiant on bosses.

No, you should be able to win with full zerger*, but only if your team packs a good amount of coordinated support and control. Currently you need just damage.

*Otherwise it’s just a gear check and you might just as well not let full zerger parties even try the dungeon in the firstplace.

Better then the current Zerk or gtfo meta.

Why? Is PVT or gtfo better? Gear check is a gear check, it’s all the same wheter it is armor or dps check.

Guild Wars 2 pve has no trinity, not even duality, its just damage. This is because mobs are immune to most control effects and due to lack of AI, the best support is just dodging their blind attacks.

LOTS of people used MF in dungeons. Also I would kick any1 from my party who is running zerger gear as a zerger is some1 who omniblobs in wvw and is likely wearing something like apothecary or ptv. Would rather take a zerker.

And I would kick anyone that I was sure running MF gear instead of contributing to running the dungeons. At least Apothercary, and PTV gear characters would be able to face tank a boss for a given time. MF gear does absoluting nothing for the group and only helps the individual wearing it.

If you need someone to face tank a boss, your party is terrible. There is exactly one factor that counts: how fast you can do the dungeon, and in a party where everyone can count to 3 and press V, this is achieved best by running full damage builds.

Well EVEN MORE people use PVT in dungeons. How is that any differend? Sorry, but I would take my treasure hunter gear over extra combat stats any day. It is more fun for me. I do not need an extra crutch to hack through the trivial pve content this game has to offer.

I don’t think they will add more content that requires ascended stuff and I hope they don’t. That aside, players can be kittens. That shouldn’t stop anet from adding new stuff to the game. They can’t balance for kittens.

And in wvw there is always going to be new players and old players mixed together with varying tiers of gear and skill. You can’t balance for that either. Unless you just remove all gear stats in wvw.

So the only valid complaint is that anet might in the future add harder content that requires ascended. Other than that it seems like your complaint is with the uplevel balancing and not ascended gear.

And a player in full exotics will beat a player in full ascended if they know their class better and are just generally better at the game pretty easily. Past that in small groups or zergs it doesn’t matter to much who has what.

disregarding the fact that high lvl fractals already requires ascended equipment…why would they not add additional content that requires ascended gear? players are being forced to spend considerably more time (in waiting) and resources to make something and it isnt even going to be of any use? after all the extra time and effort spent to get complete ascended, it is not that different in performance than full exotic? anet should limit their future content because of a limitation placed by a previous content release? does that even make sense?
a year old player in no armor at upscaled 80 could possibly beat a second old player with full legendary (whenever we get to that) but thats not the point. we arent talking about whats possible. only thing determining the winner in combat was supposed to be the skill of the user; balance did exist in the fact that max lvl gear was accessible in variety of ways. the ease of acquisition actually somewhat nullified the gearing problem of those with multiple characters/gear. for those that wanted to go the extra mile, there was legendary.
its quite remarkable how one update can bring about so many problems

World vs world was never meant to be balanced. See 1v1v1. Individual skill was never in the equation. Next complaint..

I don’t think you play WvW, or pay attention to the WvW forums. They do want it to be fairly balanced. So yeah, get your facts straight before trolling.

Only farm that wasn’t MF based and was better or as good as such MF based farms, was the deadeye farm. These champion farms are meh, champion box =~10s.

Your armor in no way affects your account bound magic find. All MF on armor will disappear. The way we will be able to increase our account bound MF is by salvaging blue and green items and using, what I assume to be, a “Magic Find Essence” or some such.

They want to nerf MF to prevent farming. How difficult can it be to understand something like this?

& at the same time add a huge influx of mats & items in the form of the Champ boxes? it’s not about wanting to nerf farming. The change has more to do with players not hurting teams by picking noncombat stats.

Lol hurting teams. Perhaps if you run mf in WvW guild zerg, there might be some difference, but otherwise it’s all the kittening same if you run blue lvl 70 gear. Besides, it might just as well be argued that anything short of a zerger is already hurting your team.

The champion farms are much slower money wise than say high MF lodestone farms were, or just t6 farms. They just seem good.

Anyone CLAIMING that Anet didn’t take the MF item points on Celestial Gear into account when creating the armor – could you please provide a link from a dev backing up your nonsense statement? Thanks a ton.

Until then, removing a stat from gear, that everyone was under the impression would be replaced by a similarly desirable stat, is BAD BUSINESS. I didn’t spend a MONTH making this armor AND large amounts of gold to have it simply become less effective.

Quitting the game because of a developer oversight is NOT an overreaction. There are plenty of other video games out there that want my and other celestial armor wearers business. Take this into account as you move forward ANET.

Two words: Boon Duration.

If you add boon duration, you must reduce the crit damage attribute on that gear. Otherwise it is simply too strong compared to everything else.

Yeah. Sounds (not) fun.

This. Plus, new players (i.e., new customers, Anet!) will be at a severe disadvantage.

How are they at a disadvantage and more importantly why should anet worry about that?

Should new players start at level 80 with a full set of exotics and crafting professions at 500 fresh out of the character creator? I’m not sure what you’re saying.

We all started at level 1 with 0 crafting professions and gear. I’m not sure where the disadvantage comes into play.

Currently, getting to fully Exotic gear is pretty easy, even for a new player — there are lots of avenues for getting geared up.

It looks very much like Ascended gear will be a huge grind, locked behind time gates. The point being that getting to Ascended gear will be far harder than getting to Exotic gear, causing a big stat separation between your main and your alts, between your primary build and other builds, and between old players and new.

You didn’t answer the question and your claim. How are new players disadvantaged.

I thought I did answer the question: currently, gearing up to best in gear is extremely
easy so that if you’re creating a new build, a new alt, or if you’re a new player, you’re at full capabilities really fast. With the Ascended time gating especially, it will take you far longer to have best-in-gear. You will be playing with sub-optimal gear for far longer than you do now. And the difference is not insignificant — projecting from current Ascended stats and Exotic stats, a fully Exotic toon will be equal to a fully Ascended one with (one piece of) broken armor. Do you run around with broken armor?

Let me ask you this. When September third rolls around will all exotic items in the game disappear?

New content will be scaled towards Ascended gear so your Exotics will be to Ascended as Rares are to Exotics now. Do you play with Rare gear? (This is especially significant in WvW.)

That is my assumption. But do you think Anet would keep content at the same level, thus making their game easier in every way? I assume they have an idea of what level of difficulty this game should be. If players become more powerful, then to keep the desired level of difficulty, they have to increase content difficulty. Again, my assumption.

That’s PvE. For WvW, the impact is assured because other players will get Ascended gear, increasing your difficulty.

By the way, even if Anet doesn’t increase difficulty, at some point you will be prejudiced against if you’re not fully Ascended. You can do all content (pretty easily) in Rares now, but try not getting kicked in a dungeon group after telling your party you’re decked out in Rares.

The concept of “funny” looks to be twisted in this game, against the serious lore the game used to be!

I call it not GW2 but “Tyria On line” instead!

The GW saga was transformed in a " World of Theme Park", where we live in a permanent state of Festive events & Robotica Sci-Fi!!!

Not to attack your post, but can the player base choose what they want?
“We want SAB, SAB was the best, please make it return, I want it now” posts were seen trough out the whole summer.
Sab announces its return
“this game is no longer serious, it’s a themepark, it’s like Tyria Online and not GW anymore!”
Sometimes I think that this is precisely why we’re not being the developers of the game – the game would contradict itself hard if we were the ones making it

As if it doesnt already. Swords and bows being used in the era of robots, airplanes and lasers ? o_O. Why don’t you just use cruise missiles and droids to destroy Zaithan from Rata Sum while drinking coffee and playing SAB?
I don’t really care though. Jumping with friends can be fun and I can ingore the parts of the game that do not in my opinion agree with each other or with the game lore.

Down-state is GW2 unique feature. It won’t go away. And it gives a heroic feeling when you succeed and rally up. It is really innovative feature.
If you don’t want to use it, just let yourself get killed, but let others fight for their survival if they prefer.

Gotta say I did feel pretty heroic when I spammed #1 on that forest animal and rallied up!

The cast time is something that is there to allow players to interrupt the skill, tell me why i can’t interrupt a strong effect because the cast time is that short, and other effects that are weak, that will give to you a sort of malus because you lose the passive effect of skills are enouth long to intterrupt them easly.

I played engi a lot in pvp and i’ve never got the problem that you have to use the overcharge of the turret because of the 480 radiu that is the biggest area of the game i can cast it where i want.

Eh? You can’t interrupt the passive effect of healing signet at all.

Awful combat, probably grindy since it’s a Korean MMO, and most likely unbalanced.

Maybe you don’t take GW2 in such high regard, but this is way better than that, sorry.

This. It doesn’t matter that it has open world if the game is otherwise unbalanced, has clumsy combat and is grindy as hell. Because in that case you might just as well play Eve online: the combat itself is mostly dull (point and click), but the open world pvp is certainly thousand times deeper than in some random korean grind fest.

Favorite GW1 game modes?

Ra was probably my favorite. You could play it with many differend builds and still have fun. That’s not quite the case with say SoloQ.
Also FA, especially when synching with a friend. Nothing like killing gunther before they bring their first ambers. They were like “WTF” and we were like “BOOOOM”. Gotta say, duo air of enchament monk was pretty fun too on the kurzick side.

Then again, nothing really beated glyph of renewal + iron mist on Luxon side… That’s probably the most fun I’ve ever had in Guild Wars.

I can’t quite take ArenaNet’s statements seriously anymore. Somehow I really got the feeling that every single “old” developer either left ArenaNet or got replaced with a new one that doesn’t have any idea about the game. Just some examples – “We want to enable more builds for the elementalist.” “We don’t want grinding.” “The Queen is gonna say something spectacular.” “Every decision you make will have major influence on your character.” etc. pp.

3. Create GvG – Solutions for more PvP modes
A GvG mode wouldn’t be that hard to create;
I – Name the PvP maps “Guild halls”. They can be chosen when you create a guild for a little money.
II – Create a Guild based rating not a player based. Also create a Team based matchmaking. —> You can only play GvG when you represent your guild.
The thing about GvG is the feeling of achieving something as a Guild! I think with GvG available more PvE guilds would start to play pvp! With “playerladder” and not team based PvP you don’t get the feeling of a “team”.

LOL what a noob! The game is called guild wars! why would having guild vs guild ever be a good idea?

Its Guild Wars because of the historical event that happened, not because you are fighting GvG. Inform yourself before acting kittened.

In fact, they planned “WvW like gvg” for the first game and hence the name. However, apparently that was technically too difficult at the time so they made up this nonsensical lore to explain the name.

Problem #1: Rune of Perplexity and Rune of Torment stack too much confusion/torment respectively.

Problem #2: Might stacking is too powerful, especially in regard to condition damage.

Problem #3: Zerg have too much condition removal which means condition damage is only an issue for roamers.

Problem #4: Non-bunker builds that are used to high survivability are now finding they can be countered by strong condition builds. (Stealth used to mean end of damage provided you avoided AoE. Now conditions can keep eating your HPs.)

That’s actually not true. The most common high damage, high surviability roamer build, d/p thief, is very difficult to defeat with conditions.

Okay engineers and warriors use this best , thiefs come in 3rd, good mesmers should know how handy this rune is, I’ve got a buddy who plays an asura necro and he’s hualing kitten with it, I’ll talk my ranger mate into making a condition build with it, and when I get home I’m going to make a condition guardian (place your bets, who thinks I can doit) I believe some one has also said condition eles are viable with it now, so if no one sees this as game breaking then please go back to pve and stay out of PvP business

Just to clarify, do you like the rune, or do you want it nerfed to hell like half the people here?

I main an engineer and use the kitten out of it, i also made a video for it I’d link it but I’m on my phone but my youtube channel is ukuni99, I also made the first topic for nerfing it, I like it but it’s definitely over powered, I’d prefer to see it amplify confusion builds not be the staple point for every condition build which it is very quickly becoming

What would you think of 5 stacks of confusion every time you apply confusion, with an internal cooldown of 10 seconds (or whatever), instead of on interrupt?

That it’d be lot more boring than baiting interrupts.

Best bet is to make a thief put the runes on the thief make the title “OMG OP permastealth confusion stacking thief build VID” then you can get some real traction on the runes getting nerfed.

Actually considered them on my p/d thief that uses sword as secondary weapon, but I love my adventurer runes way too much.

Yeah, that is one of the biggest criticisms of mesmer confusion and condition mesmers as a whole. Their confusion isn’t mean to be a form of damage but some kind of short duration attack deterrent.

The 3 second confusions worked fine on say confusion shatter specs until they reduced the damage so that confusion = +-bleeding. It wasn’t this shatter spec that was op, it was the glamour confusion bomber that ignored aoe cap and could not be dodged.

My question is, is there anywhere where this kind of things happen all the time? If I could, I would just do 1v1’s or 2v2’s all day.

Indeed there is.

Its called sPvP/tPvP.

lmao gl with a 1v1 in spvp .The entire game is based on zerging no game modes excluded.

Somewhat ironically, the spvp maps are so full of clutter that low end systems such as my laptop give very low fps in them, 20 and below. In the windmill however, unless if there is intense GvG going on, I have stable fps of 30-40+.
And as every duelist knows, there are more viable builds with WvW rules. WvW rules might even be better balanced for duels than spvp rules.

I’m at 35k+ kills and I’m not complaining.

Sacrex hit 250k kills and he did not complain.

At that it has already been stated that they’re looking into changing the AP system for WvW.

Actually he had a whole complain topic. In fact two. Anyhow, the correct term is 25k tags and I quess thats why the reward is so low.

th probelm with this runes is the duration as well.. i got today 20 stacks confusuin wich last like 15 sec.. 15 sec wehre you cant do anything when you already have low hp

It’s just that conditions in this game are generally too strong as they allow both extreme defense and extreme damage. These runes are just tip of the ice berg, even if I hate that saying.

People said the same thing about GW1 before it hit it’s first anniversary.

It easily became the strongest PvP game I’ve ever played. Don’t be so quick to discredit it.

Then again, for every 1 game that somehow climbs back up, there is 100 that do not.

Nuka I know we all want quick fixes. We all do. However, let us not forget that even in this game’s predecessor a lot of these things did not happen overnight, or the first year of the game’s lifespan.

We can choose to be unconstructive about how we approach it, and moan to make ourselves feel justified. Or, offer our thoughts and solutions to hopefully contribute to making things better. It took me a while to make this conclusion but ultimately I think it will pay off.

Seems like a pretty naive conclusion. Also, if something is just plain crap, it does not deserve constructive criticism.

Once again I see thief QQ in here. Seriously… every… single… thread. Thief isn’t the best 1v1 class by any means, they aren’t the best small group class, and they aren’t the best large group class. Quit complaining about them being annoying and not giving you a loot bag as often as some other classes.

Thief is the ultimate lootbag farmer profession though.

It’s also because the majority of the people come to the forums to whine about something, so its obvious negative outcomes on the polls will prevail. They are by no means any indicator of how the community feels about X subject.

Well I’d say the community that consists mostly of casual pvers, doesn’t really give a kitten about what is happening in pvp. It is quite obvious where the focus of this game is.

Why did you not mention duels? Because duels do work. So do 2v2 or even 3v3 death match. Stealth would perhaps need to be nerffed to prevent certain d/p instagib cheese as seen in WvW, but otherwise I don’t see why it couldn’t work. It would just be differend from the current spam fest.

2) Even if you are an ele, going from 0% to top 1000 is possible

Though, about as likely as it is to win in a lottery and then buy your way there. How about you just roll a spirit ranger like everyone else?

I don’t recall any class in gw1 being able to two shot your HP in a matter of seconds.

Two shot isn’t a wanted GW2 mechanic. After the proper tuning, it would not be possible anymore.

Anyway, some builds in GW1 were close to two-shot people. Hammer warrior, backbreaker assassins, some Elementalist spike builds… I can’t remember them all, but there were a lot of builds capable to kill in two seconds unaware players.

I don’t remember any of them causing trouble. The only build I fondly remember is fragility mesmer. But they were easy to counter once you found out how they worked.

It was actually illusion of weakness & grenths balance mesmer that could do it, but it wasn’t practical. You needed around 200 health to pull it off :P
